Chapter 40:

Ana's pregnancy was going into the ninth month and she was sure that she was going to give birth to a Seattle Seahawk linebacker. It seemed everyday she got larger and it was harder to breath. She was uncomfortable sitting. She uncomfortable laying down, no matter which position she tried. She was constantly rubbing her back or asking Christian to do so. She was tired also. Sleep did not come easy for her.

She sat at the breakfast bar sipping on her tea and watching the sun come up. This was one of her favorite times. The house was quiet. All she could hear was the water lapping upon the shore and the wind dancing through the trees. This was heaven! She was amazed by the vivid colors of the sunrise with its pinks, oranges, and lavender against a robin egg blue sky. For some reason, she began to cry. She didn't understand why unless she was overcome by the beauty that was sat before her. She wiped away a tear. Of course she would be emotional. So much had happened since Kate took her own life. Agnes took the easy way out by blowing her brains out leaving her other child without closure. Ethan spoke about his emotions and how he felt cheated by his mother's death. Not because he loved her, but because he never had the chance to tell her the truth about herself as he saw her… as a selfish woman that would do anything to sell more papers and seek revenge for a crime not committed. Ana's heart actually ached for her friend, she understood the betrayal of a parent. She wiped the tears away when she realized that Carla, in a way, had committed suicide. The woman had to know that she would keep a gun nearby for protection. Carla also had to know that there was no way that she would get away with the murder of her daughter. Either Ana would fight back lethally or Carla would spend the rest of her life in prison.

"She had to have known that there was no way back from the path she took!" It was an epiphany! Carla knew she was going to die that day! The tears rolled down her face. She tried to be strong but all this death was affecting her. She had buried her college friend and roommate and in less than two years buried Kate's mother. Ana wondered if Agnes knew she was going to take her own life, because Agnes Kavanagh was not known to be pro-gun. Or, was the bullet meant for someone else? She pondered these thoughts and did not notice that her loving husband was watching her.

Christian saw the tears and heard his wife's softly spoken words. He carefully approached her so not to frighten her. He bent down beside her and wiped a warm tear from her check. "Don't cry, Ana. It breaks my heart to see you cry. You should only be happy."

"I am mourning for Ethan, for Carlos, and in a way, myself. We all have experienced loss and in Ethan's case, the betrayal of a parent." She took his hand and held it to her heart. "Promise me, that I will never hurt our children that way." She started to cry once again. "It would devastate me if I ever caused our children the pain that Ethan and I have gone through."

"Sweetheart, you are too good and too loving to ever hurt your children or anyone for that matter in such a way. You are a GOOD mother." He could feel that her heart was racing. "You need to calm down and listen to me. Teddy adores you and you are so wonderful with him. And, I know for certain, this little girl will be greatly loved by her mother and father."

"Christian, what if …" Her voice trailed off. She couldn't speak the words afraid of the answer to her question.

"What if what, Ana? Come on, tell me." He urged not wanting her to bottle up her emotions.

"What I turn out like Carla? What if I become self-absorbed and selfish … and blame my children for my mistakes?"

"Ana, really? You are the most level-headed person I know." He gave her a tender smile. "Besides, your Dad would kick your ass and mine, and my dear, the last person I want to tangle with is Raymond Steele."

She giggled and bit her lip in that delightful way of hers. "Yeah, he can be pretty scary when he wants."

"Yeah, he is." Christian stood up while at the same time sweeping his wife up into his arms. "His daughter can be just as scary when she wants." He held her close and took her from the kitchen. His destination was their bedroom and his mission was to put her back to bed for her to sleep a little more.

"Christian, you need to put me down. I weigh a ton?" She exclaimed.

"Nahhh, just a half ton!" He joked causing her to huff and puff. "You need to rest, darling. We have a big day with the signing off on Kavanagh Media. After we pay Ethan, you and I need to sit down and decide what we want to keep and what we will sale off."

"I don't want to be in the newspaper business, so we can sell "The Times"." She perked up. "Carlos! He's in the media business, I know mostly European television, but he might be interested."

"Yeah, I guess. We have a few options to consider." He had climbed the steps with her without her realizing and was going down the hall to their bedroom suite. "We already have three decent offers on the mansion and Ethan asked that the automobiles be donated to charity for auction. He doesn't want a thing from the house or from his parents."

"He is perfectly happy in New York with his bride." Ana had to smile as she remembered the intimate and lovely wedding of Ethan and Maria. It was a last moment decision to marry in Reno but somehow with the help of their friends, it looked like the wedding had been planned for months. Everything was lovely in soft pastel blues and creamy white. The flowers were exquisite cream colored roses wrapped in blue ribbons. Maria asked Ana to stand up as her Matron of Honor and Christian was the Best Man. Maria walked down the chapel aisle to "Love Can Build a Bridge" on her brother's arm dressed in a tea-length cream colored lace dress with a pastel blue ribbon about her waist and matching blue Jimmy Choos. She wore her hair down with no veil. It was a simple ceremony, no fanfare, no ribbons adorning the chapel chairs or massive flower arrangements to choke the participants with their fragrance. Only three people besides the Officiant and his assistant and the couple were there. Carlos proudly gave his sister's hand to Ethan and stepped back and smiled happily that his baby sister was happy. He looked to Christian who nodded at him and then to Ana who smiled brightly as the couple began speaking their vows. Ana snapped out of her memory with a giggle. "They do make a lovely couple and can you imagine their babies. They will be exotic and beautiful!"

"Hold on Mrs. Grey, our children are the only beautiful children in this world!"

"Oh, Christian." She motioned him to bend down to her as she snuggled under the sheet. She kissed him softly. "Join me, please."

"I would but methinks I hear our son." He looked to their alarm clock which was proclaiming that the day was still in the six o'clock hour. "He is getting up earlier and earlier every day."

"He is your son." Ana laughed. "Looks like you and acts like you." Her eyes closed slowly and soon she was asleep.

Christian sighed in relief that she was sleeping peacefully. The last few nights she had been restless. He decided that it must be the pregnancy keeping her from a sound sleep, but now he suspected that her feelings of inadequacy was rising to the surface. She was so confidant in other aspects of life such as her business but she questioned her role as parent. He had to remind her that she had the best example set before her in Ray. He made a mental note to call his shrink for advice. He only wanted his wife to be happy and comfortable in her life and in her role as parent.

Carlos passed on the chance to purchase The Seattle Times when offered and the Greys understood. Mr. Balitrane did not want any business ties to Seattle. He would come to visit his new friends and he promised he would return for Baby Girl Grey's baptism. He also had to admit that he looked forward to fishing with Ray, Carrick, Elliot and Christian. It was also his hope that Ethan would join them. It was rather fulfilling to have man friends, even if it was just to go fishing or have a beer. It was the comradery that he enjoyed and the knowledge that these men would have his back.

Ray sat in the window darken front seat of his black Cadillac. He was parked outside Lily Johnson's apartment building watching and waiting. He had a few questions for her and her little escapade at the now defunct private BDSM club. She stayed out of sight ever since the incident. She went to her job at the Art Museum where she was an assistant to the curator then she returned to her apartment. Her only visitors were her parents and an occasional food delivery person. He wondered why she was hiding. Something did not add up in this situation. Ray was convinced that Lily was setting Mia up. But, what was her angle? What did she want from Mia to put her harm's way? Ray was like a rabid dog on a bone. He would not let this go. He felt it was his duty to watch over Mia since she was now his daughter's sister-in-law. Any threat to any Grey was a threat against his Annie and that was not acceptable to him. He looked at his watch and knew that Lily was due home from her job. He expected her parents to escort her as they usually did, but today, she was alone. She parked her car and locked it and made her way into the six-story brick building. He watched as she stopped at the postal carousal and unlocked her mailbox. She flipped through the mail then made her way to the old-fashioned cage elevator. He tossed his binoculars into the passenger seat and made his notes. He was meticulous in his investigations. He noted times, the weather, the people who were about and of course, Grey's men who were also tailing Lily. Ray spotted them the first day. They really did need to learn to blend in. Their dark suits with snowy white shirts and dark ties yelled "high-end investigator"! They also drove the Christian Grey favored vehicles, Audi's. He watched as Grey's men set up their perimeter and synchronized their shifts. He then spied a dark van that was just around the corner. It was just your ordinary everyday work van but there was no advertising on it. He noted that also. He wondered if Grey's boy genius, Barney Sullivan was in that van listening to the bugs in Lily's apartment. Ray smiled. He had detected the bugs the first time he searched the apartment before Lily returned from her parent's. They were not activated yet, so he knew they were new. He had to give it to his son-in-law, the man was adamant and persistent in his protection of his family! Ray laughed, Ana had married a man like dear old DAD!

The baby was due any day and Ana was ready! She couldn't see her feet and she was sure that her ass was the size of a Mack truck! She couldn't breathe. She had heartburn so bad that she could start the Second Great Chicago Fire from Seattle! She was grouchy and uncomfortable! And bored! She went on maternity leave two weeks ago and she missed the energy of the office. She knew she left Grey Publishing in good hands with Hannah and of course Roz and Christian were always about. Her business would be fine. She wasn't too sure about her husband! Christian went off the deep end and bought out every baby store he could find in Seattle. Baby Girl Grey had every toy, every baby care gadget known to man, and every kind of clothing. Ana didn't have the strength to argue with him when boxes upon boxes began to be delivered to the house. She told her loving husband that he was going to sort through everything and put it in its place! She wasn't going to do it and he would find her in her home office trying to find a baby name they both liked.

Ana was sitting at her desk talking on the phone with Cammie when she felt the first labor pain. It really didn't hurt, just a bit uncomfortable. The scream that nearly left her deaf was what hurt when she informed Cammie that she thought she was in labor. She could hear Cammie yelling into another phone that "Ana is in labor!" Ana surmised that Cammie had called Roz. There was some more talking and then her cell phone began ringing and Ana just rolled her eyes. Of course, her husband was calling and would be on his way to a heart attack or a panic attack!

"Yes, dear." She said answering her cell.

"Labor! You're in labor and you tell Cammie before me?" Ana could see her handsome husband's face turning purple. "Why didn't you call me?"

"Oh, for Pete's Sake, it just happened when I was on the phone with Cammie!" She exclaimed. "It was the first pain. You know the first pain of many that you are going to be blamed for!" She felt like growling like an old mama bear. "I will call you if they get worse."

"Ana, Ana, don't you dare…"

She hung up. She returned to her phone call with Cammie. "Hey, tell Roz, thanks a fucking lot! Now Christian is all upset because he didn't know first!"

"Men or significant others!" Cammie replied finding herself hilarious.

Ana slowly got to her feet. "I have to go. I'm going to find Gail and let her know that we are having a baby today."

"Hey, Ana, I'm sorry about…I didn't think. I am so excited."

"It's alright, "Cams". See ya later." Ana hung up the phone and sighed heavily. Her feet felt like lead. She was about to the kitchen when she felt another ache building in her back. She rubbed her back and had a painful look on her face as she sat at the breakfast bar before Gail. The two women did not have to speak. Gail knew exactly what was happening. "Would you like a bit of tea? I think it's early enough in labor that it won't hurt."

"It might calm me a bit. I suspect Christian will be rolling in here like a bat out of hell." She looked down at her wristwatch. "I'd give him about twenty minutes, if traffic is light."

"I will go upstairs and get your bags and bring them down." Before Ana could say anything, another back spasm raced up her spine. Gail saw the pain on the young woman's face. She took Ana's hand. "Breathe through it, Ana." She kept murmuring soft encouragement to Ana. "Better?"

"Gail, I think I need Sawyer to drive me to the hospital." She felt her stomach which was rock hard. "Something's not right." She cried out as another pain that started low in her back reached around her sides and pushed her stomach muscles to almost a point. "Oh, my God."

"Ana, I think you are having back labor." Gail went to the intercom and told Sawyer to get the car out and have it out front in two minutes. Gail made sure Ana was settled on the chair and she ran up the stairs to find the hospital bags for Ana and Baby Girl Grey. She found them by the door of the master suite. She then made a bee line into Teddy's room to find him with his au pair. She informed the young lady that she needed to get Teddy dressed quickly, get his already packed overnight bag and be ready to go to the hospital with them. It was already decided that Grace and Mia would watch over Teddy while Ana delivered her baby girl. Gail and Sawyer entered the kitchen at the same time. She handed him the bags and quietly told him that Teddy and the au pair was riding with them to the hospital. Gail took off her apron and left it on the counter. "Ana, everything is ready for us to go. Sawyer has already called Mr. Grey and Taylor and Taylor is informing the rest of the team. Sawyer will take us to the hospital along with Teddy and Marchelle. Now, let me help you."

"Gail, do me a favor…"

"Yes, Ana."

"Don't let me ever have sex again. This fucking hurts so much more than Teddy." Those blue eyes rolled back into her head.

Gail stifle a laugh, hid her smile and shook her head. Stopping Ana and Christian from having sex would take an act of congress, a meeting with the Pope and at least half dozen meetings of the U.N. Security Council. "I will see what I can do about finding some saltpeter for Mr. Grey."

Ana had to laugh even though she was hurting. She knew in her heart that she would never stop having sex with her husband. It was impossible not to want to make love to him. Even now, as labor was upon her, she was thinking about how handsome Christian was. He made his clothes look good. He was very talented with his hands, mouth, and yes, his cock! Ana decided that there should be a golden statue in memorial of Christian Grey's penis! She giggled as her thoughts ran wildly and made no sense.

Two hours later Ana was still in labor and Christian was at her side rubbing her back. He spoke gently to her words of encouragement and she only got mad at him once when his phone went off. He turned it off and gave all his attention to her. Christian stayed by her side as she sat up on her knees and lean over the raised portion of the bed. He rubbed her back some more as she continued to labor. Christian could feel her tense and then she collapsed as her water broke. She was still with him and looked relieved to have the pressure of her waters gone. Her breathing was deep, but she smiled at him. "My water broke. You need to call Dr. Green in."

Labor progressed quicker after Ana's water broke. Within five hours, three bouts of threatening Christian with torn off testicles if he ever touched her again, and nearly breaking his hand which she had in a death grip, she pushed their daughter out. Ana fell back onto sloped bed and sighed. She listened for the baby's cry and started to laugh and cry at the same time when Baby Girl Grey screamed and screamed. "Listen to her." She whispered.

Christian was speechless. He shook his head not believing what he was seeing. He looked to Dr. Green who only shrugged her shoulders. "What …" He started.

Ana saw Christian's reaction to their child and her heart nearly stopped. "Is something wrong?' She tried to sit up straighter to see her baby who was now being cleaned by the nurse. "Where's my daughter?"

"Uh, honey…our daughter is a boy." Christian said as the tears rolled down his face. "He is a boy!" He kissed her softly. Both parents looked to Dr. Green for answers but she was quietly and gently examining her patient.

"I can't believe it..." Dr. Green looked to Ana. "You better prepare yourself, the next one is coming pretty damn quick."

"Next one!" Christian yelled. "What in the hell are you talking about? My wife isn't a fucking assembly line spitting out kid after kid."

"Mr. Grey, you have twins. I think the boy was hiding behind his sister." The doctor had already changed her gloves and she motioned for the other nurse to give Mrs. Grey some oxygen. The shock had sent the young lady into a quiet calmness that was a bit unnerving. The Doctor was expecting more hysterics, but Ana just stared after her baby across the room, until another contraction was upon her. This delivery was quicker and easier since her body had already expelled one child. She grabbed a hold of Christian's shirt front as she gave her all for the final push. "You did this to me! You are having the next child. I'm done." She screamed out as Baby Girl Grey finally joined the world. Both Greys were crying and kissing each other. Their girl was crying just as loud as her brother had. She sighed heavily as she collapsed onto the bed. "Is there anymore?" She asked the good Doctor.

"I'm pretty sure that we got all of them out." Even Dr. Green had a tear or two. "I can only surmise that the girl baby was hiding her brother every time we took a sonogram. And, it explains your swollen ankles and feet."

"Are they alright?" Christian asked looking past the doctor. "Can I hold one?"

"Of course, Mr. Grey, they are your children." Dr. Green chuckled. The first nurse brought over the little boy freshly swaddled and laid him on his mother's chest. "He's a handsome lad."

The nurse who was evaluating Baby Girl Grey spoke over shoulder. "Master Grey weighed right at 5 pounds even and is 18 ½ inches long." She cooed down at the little girl. "And little Miss Grey weighs in at 6 pounds and 11 ounces. She is 19 inches long."

Ana began to cry as she held her son close. She had a girl's name chosen but didn't have a clue about what to name her little man. She looked up at Christian who was given their daughter. He held her so gently as if she was a piece of fine porcelain.

"She is so pretty." Christian was enthralled with this little girl. She had soft silky curls that were dark brown. She looked like Ana with her raspberry colored pout and she liked to sleep. She was already cuddled up in Daddy's arms sleeping in love and safety. He looked over to his wife and new son who was rooting around looking for a nipple. Christian had to laugh when he latched on.

"Like Father, like son." Ana smiled. "We have our daughter's name, Phoebe Grace, what about our little boy?"

"We will think of something." He couldn't stop staring at this precious little bundle of joy. She had her daddy already wrapped around her perfect little finger and Christian could care less. This little lady was his daughter, his princess, and the very image of the woman whom he loved and adored.

Proud tears welled in Ana's blue eyes. She realized that she almost missed out on this wonderful and magical moment. It was only a few years ago that this man stormed into her life with the most ridiculous blackmail scheme so he could be with her and she almost walked away. She silently thanked heaven for leading her back into his arms when they were in Aspen. It had been years! Not days, not weeks, not months, but years. Time had gone by so quickly. She tossed the ideas away. It didn't matter now. All that mattered now was this moment in their lives. As with Teddy's birth, this was a miraculous day in both their lives. Neither could have known that they would really fall in love and have children. And, of course, the very idea of Christian Grey, family man with wife and hearth was something that the public and even his own family never thought would happen.

"Christian, I would like to meet my daughter." Ana's voice broke through the enchantment that her husband was caught in.

"She is beautiful, Ana. She is breathtaking!" He brought their little princess closer. "Phoebe Grace, I would like to introduce you to the most loving, kind, patient, and beautiful Mama that any child could ever have."

Ana blushed at his introduction as he placed Phoebe into her arms and the little Grey Princess snuggled into her brother. "Did you see that, Christian? It's like she knew that this was her brother."

"I saw it. That's amazing." Christian was in awe of this whole situation. They had twins! "They know each other."

"I like the name Phineas and we can call him Phin." Ana offered. "Phineas and Phoebe."

Christian shook his head. "Sounds like a Greek tragedy." He looked over the babies. "Do we like the name Patrick?"

Ana tried the name on for size. "Patrick Carrick Grey … Phoebe and Patrick." She shook her head with her little nose scrunched up to show her distaste. "Too much "rick" in Patrick Carrick." She closed her eyes and enjoyed the warmth of her children. She drank it in for she knew that they would be taken for a more thorough exam and blood tests. She began to laugh. "I have the perfect name!"

"What?"

"Phoenix!"

"Like the city?"

"No, like the bird. Phoenix rising from the ashes, and in Latin means dark red hair." She slyly looked up at her copper-haired husband. "Some could say you are a Phoenix and you do have reddish hair."

"Minx." Christian replied laughing with her.

"That can be the next one." Ana said shocking her husband so much that his mouth made a perfect "O". "I like Phoenix Carrick."

He agreed. "Our son's name is Phoenix Carrick."

Becoming a grandparent was exhausting. The wait and the worry weighed heavily on Grace, Carrick, and Ray. They sat together in the waiting room, fielding calls from other family members and waiting! And, waiting!

Grace slapped her thighs. "This is nuts! I have to know what is going on. It's been hours." She got up but felt her husband's hand take hers.

"Grace, be patient. You are always telling me that babies take their own time in being born."

"Oh, you just be quiet! This is my grandchild being born." She sat with a huff which made both men bite their lip to keep from laughing a loud. She crossed her legs and her arms and waited in silence. She kept looking at the clock swearing that the hands had not moved!

Christian silently walked into the waiting room to see his Dad and Father-in-law highly amused and his mother looked like she was fuming. Christian had taken the time to take off the gown, booties, mask, and the little paper hat. He still felt giddy. He looked about hoping to find his siblings but it was just the grandparents.

"Hey." He said as normal as he could.

"Christian!" Grace jumped from her chair and ran to him. She wrapped her arms about him and started to cry as his arms enclosed her into a hug. She never got tired receiving his embraces. She waited so long for them. "Is Ana…it's been so long…"

"Mom, it takes time to have a baby, or at least that is what you told me when we had Teddy." He held her at arm's length to watch her reaction to his teasing. He did enjoy seeing the spark in her eyes. "Ana is waiting for all of you."

Grace was still talking about how upset she was that Christian and Ana made sure that she was not allowed to know anything about this birth until Ana delivered. After all, she did go to medical school and she was a licensed physician. Carrick once again bit his lip and let her go. The woman was on a roll and thank God it was against Christian! He looked over to Ray who only rolled his eyes. Christian let her keep talking as they walked into Ana's hospital room. His beautiful wife had changed into a clean nightgown from her hospital bag and brushed her hair. She was sitting up in bed smiling as she heard Grace once again going off that she was more than capable to be present for the birth of a grandchild. Grace stopped and looked about the room for a baby.

"The baby will be here soon." Ana said seeing that her mother-in-law was frantic and forgetting hospital protocol with newborns.

"Of course, my darling girl." Grace went to her and hugged her warmly and kissed her forehead. "I can't believe how well you look after giving birth. I don't think you could ever look bad, Ana. You are a natural beauty." A soft knock came at the door and Grace turned to see a nurse backing into the room with a clear bassinet with pink blankets. Grace began to cry as the baby was brought to Ana. She took in the dark hair peeking out from under that pink cap. Baby Girl Grey fussed a bit when the nurse picked her up but settled when she was given to her mother.

"Mom, meet your first granddaughter, Phoebe Grace Grey." Christian softly said as he placed his hands on his mother's shoulders.

Grace let the tears fall. She had a granddaughter! "Here, Grace, hold your grandbaby." Ana said transferring the baby to her mother-in-law.

Grace sat in the chair that Carrick offered her and studied the baby's perfect little round face. She was beautiful! Perfect! The most beautiful child ever born! "Oh, little one…Grandma promises to always have cookies and a glass of milk ready for you when you come to visit. We will play in the garden chasing butterflies and having tea parties."

"Now, Grace, no spoiling the little Princess." Carrick teased as he bent down to admire his granddaughter. The baby opened her eyes and they were the same bright blue eyes of her mother. Carrick bit his lip. Where Teddy resembled Christian, this one was all Ana! The baby gave the cutest yawn and closed her eyes. "She is beyond beautiful." He turned to Ray. "She has Ana's eyes."

Ray stepped to the other side of Grace to gaze upon his second grandchild. He felt as if had been transported back in time. It was like looking into the past and seeing Ana for the first time. "My Lord, she is Ana all over again." He couldn't help himself. He wiped a tear away. Phoebe was the second most beautiful baby he had ever seen after Anastasia! He went to his daughter and hugged her. "Oh, baby girl, she is perfect. Thank you for giving me a granddaughter."

Ana looked to Christian and winked at him. While the grandparents were fussing over Phoebe Grace, Christian had slipped over to the door to receive his son. He was silent as he approached the bed with a blue bundle in his arms. "Mom, Dad, … Ray." He said softly.

"In a moment, son. We are busy." Grace said not taking her eyes off the baby in her arms.

"But, Mom, this is important …"

Grace sighed heavily as her head shot around. "What it is it, Christian?" Her eyes grew large and her mouth made a perfect "0". She was speechless. Carrick saw her reaction and thought she was having another heart attack. Both he and Ray followed her glaze to Christian. It took another moment for what they were seeing to register. There was another baby!

"Folks, meet Phoebe's older brother by a few minutes, Phoenix Carrick Grey!" Christian proudly announced.

"Twins!" All the grandparents exclaimed at the same time.

"It was a shock to us also." Ana said laughing. "We had no idea."

"But, sonograms … the heartbeat …" Grace stuttered still not believing what she was seeing.

"Dr. Green thinks Phoebe was hiding her brother." Christian went to his Father. "Dad, your Grandson, Phoenix Carrick." The proud grandfather gingerly took the baby from his son. He was still in shock! Twins! Tears made his eyes shine with even more pride. He turned to Ray. "We have another fishing buddy, Ray!"

Ray embraced his daughter once again and held her for the longest time. His baby girl had given birth to two children. She was always an overachiever! He couldn't help but laugh with joy as happy tears brimmed his eyes. "You never cease to amaze me, Ana." He kissed the top of her head over and over.

"Dad, please, I need to breathe." The laughter of the room startled Phoebe and she let out a wail. Grace tried to soothe her, but this was a cry of need. The Grey Princess wanted her mama! Christian took his daughter and transferred her over to Ana. While Ray stepped over to inspect his grandson, Ana cooed to her daughter as she prepared to offer her breast. As like Teddy, Ray decided, this one resembled Christian with those copper curls.

"Whoa." Carrick said a bit shocked to see his daughter-in-law's breast. He knew she had breastfed Teddy, but she was always discreet. He turned away so not to embarrass her.

Ana snickered. She had lost count the times she had nursed Teddy while in the middle of family events and no one had a clue. She was always carefully covered with a receiving blanket or went into another room for privacy. Here, she didn't have that luxury, and her child was hungry. Christian came to her aid blocking their guests' view as he positioned a pillow beside Ana in the way he remembered from Teddy. Like the pro she was, Ana introduced her nipple to her child and the baby latched on.

"Look at her go." Christian joked quietly. "Pretty good stuff, heh, kid?"

Ana rolled her eyes. "I could use some ice-water." Carrick handed Phoenix off to Grace and volunteered to get the new mama some ice-water.

Grace laughed. "Well, never known Carrick to be afraid of a boobie!"

"Mother! Really!" Christian exclaimed then laughed his ass off!
