-Midnight-

Tonight revealed a simple fact.

We are starting to out level this area.

Between my four Generals that have all gained their Stat Boosts and their new Skills, the mobs stood little chance at fighting back. These new power boosts came with higher EXP costs and the ones i'm getting here aren't cutting it much anymore. The only thing that made them nervous anymore was the occasional Creeper that pops up but even then they were easy enough to deal with if you can see them coming. My vantage point behind everyone allowed for the Creepers sneaky abilities to become moot, sometimes I even just used my Ring of Pain on it just to mess with it. 2x heavier weight was pretty funny as it sunk to the ground and tried to get up with its insufficient leg strength. 2x lighter was almost as funny when it took bigger strides than normal and caused it to overextend and fall slowly onto its back, soon the process repeats itself when it gets back up again.

I'm tempted to attack the Herd of Zombies now but I know that it's probably a short-term benefit with long-term downsides. The downsides would be that I've gained the aggro of the whole Herd and risk bringing it to where we live. The fact that they can only come out at night might give me enough time so build some quick walls if I know their coming but they wouldn't be as good as the castle walls if I just waited. Short-term benefits would definitely be increased EXP gain, the constant flow of enemies making up and exceeding the fact of their lower EXP value. This also comes with the risk of one of my Generals faltering for a second and become bombarded with an onslaught of flesh eaters.

But between Kaminari's and Megumin's AOE Skills this should become relatively safe if we stay on our toes. And hooves.

Yea it should be fine.

I decide that tonight we can test out some of the waters. I called over Megumin to come with me, she was the closest thing we had to a long range fighter. She usually hung out in the shadows of nearby trees, having her clones do the dirty work. I suppose she was kind of like me in that regard, having to delegate fighting to subordinates. My excuse was that there was no point in me taking down enemies and at this level of danger, moderate to little, I would probably only get in the way. Her excuse was more of a reason as her Class was not a head on fighter and instead relied on stealth and striking with deadly force.

We were almost to the other side of the Plains Biome in the shape of an oval, almost to the border of the Dark Oak Forest to be exact. We were traveling on top of the rooftops of trees on the borders between the Plains and Birch Forest Biome's. This would deter ground attackers and even the Skeletons were not much of a problem if we moved fast enough, I chose this route because it would save Megumin Mana if we didn't have to overkill every single enemy with a explosion that could kill them ten times over.

We don't encounter any meaningful opposition on the way their and soon enough came across the outer edges of the Herd. As I suspected earlier there were a couple of Baby Zombies running around beneath the knees of the regular ones. I decide that being on top of the trees seem to be the best tactic as they are unable to reach us while Megumin can just drop clones and take them out in large chunks, a perfect way to maximize each explosion usage. I let Megumin loose and she starts to do just that, drawing the aggro of the Herd for the first, and probably not last, time.

The Zombies had little chance of fighting back at first as the fighter was a suicide bomber, I suppose this made it a really good way of assassinating people. No traces left and no one to interrogate if the murderer was quite literally exploded to death. The transformation ability was just the icing on the cake, if it was a public figure like a politician she could just turn one into a bodyguard or family member and before anyone started getting suspicious just explode and do the job. This was also a double edged sword as if it got out that someone could transform into people and can explode multiple times without dying the government would become much less stable because of it. That would be a problem if I actually had a government to overthrow, not much to do here except build my own I suppose.

Still going to be wary of my other continents theory though.

I shudder to imagine a kingdom of super powered people like me, it would probably be less of a government and more of just a group of people sticking together for the sake of protecting the less combat focused Classes. I can't assume that everyone wanted to be a sword master or arch-mage and instead want to live out the rest of their lives as a world renowned farmer. Not everyone wants to feel the adrenaline rush of facing an unstoppable Demon Lord, as unlikely as that seems. Being a Player and having any kind of Class is going to turn out badly if I leave them alone long enough.

At this rate I might become a villain, and not the good kind that have underlying good guy motives and a backstory that made them twisted. I'll just be the guy who crushes the sapling of a great oak tree before its trunk grows to strong.

That is probably going to be the last and worst case scenario though, I'd much rather enlist them and get them to serve me loyally. Subordination through fear is much to overrated and it can quickly be turned against you if a strong willed individual comes along. They could be easily crushed by the full force of the army but before you can blink they've already turned against you with said strong willed individual as the new leader.

Yea, i'd much rather recruit them instead.

Authors Note:I might just not upload on holidays, or I might do a special non-cannon kind of thing if I'm not to busy. But now the upload schedule should return to daily until further notice.

Reviewers:

ShadowKing214:Yea, this is going to add some cool stuff like the Bastions and a bit of lore to the world. This also makes me think about what I should do for future updates to Minecraft, if I can squeeze them in I will but if their game changing stuff I probably won't. It would sound kind of dumb if there was a new mob and it wasn't mentioned before because our Protagonist "forgot" about it.

Kromorn:Yea, this is my first story ever and I can probably do better with my personalities. My thinking is that the only way to get better at getting your characters to express emotion is through writing and receiving constructive criticisms on how to do that better. Criticisms like this review. TLDR:Please keep reviewing.
