Anakin woke up surprised he actually slept through the night. He couldn't remember the last time he did that. He slowly moved, before feeling something on his chest. He looked down and saw an abundance of brown curls, which hid the most beautiful face he as ever seen. He smiled running his hand through her hair. He ket thinking back to last night and the events that unfolded. He still couldn't believe it happened.
He kept replaying last night in his head. After her surprise last night, they laid in the bed wrapped in each other's arms and filled each other in on their life the past twenty years. He hated knowing she had to be a server on that awful planet to hide from him, but he wasn't going to dwell on that now. He was given a second chance to right all his wrongs and he wasn't going to ruin it.
He leans down to kiss her forehead and felt her move. He looked and saw he eyes slowly flutter open.
"Well your smile is a nice sight to wake up to me." She said her voice still sounding sleepy.
"It's hard not to smile, when I have you back in my life. You have no idea how truly happy I am, Padme. It's been years, since I've been this happy." Anakin said meaning every word.
"It feels weird to be back here with you. It's almost like nothing has changed." Padme told him.
Anakin sighed knowing so much has changed. They were older, their kids were older, and they lost so much time together. He was going to change that though. He was going to right all his wrongs and first on his list was Palpatine.
Padme slowly sat up and looked for her robe. Anakin moved his finger along her back , not wanting to miss anything. She turned over and smiled at him. "We don't have time for that today. I'm sure we over-slept and the kids are wondering what happened to us." She smirked at him before kissing him and standing up.
He laid his head back down crossing his arms behind his head. "What makes you think everyone is even up yet?"
"Fine, your highness. When this is over, have fun making your way back to base!" Anakin heard Han yell.
Anakin raised his eyebrow and looked at Padme.
"Don't worry. They do this a lot. You should have seen them before they said I love you." Padme laughed as she walked over to her closet. "I can't believe all my clothes are still here."
"I told you. I couldn't imagine anyone else, but you living here." Anakin said looking at the ground for his pants.
"Too bad none of these clothes will fit me anymore." Padme frowned.
Anakin got up and walked over to her as she looked over everything in her closet. He wrapped his arms around her. "You are as perfect as the day I met you back on Tattoine."
"Yeah nearly forty years ago." She laughed as he moved his face to her neck giving her kisses.
"And you still don't look any different than the last time I saw you." Anakin said moving his hands.
"You've never been a very good lie." Padme joked.
"You know I think we might have a few more minutes to spare." Anakin said picking you and bring her back to the bed. He noticed she didn't even try to argue with him about it.
He couldn't help himself, it has been years, since he has been this happy. A part of him was afraid this was all going to be taken from him. He knew they were going to face Palpatine and as cocky as he seemed on the outside, he was afraid he would loose.
Padme finally managed to convince Anakin, that they really need to stop. Tonight was an important night and they had to be ready. They couldn't fail. The fate of the everything rested on their shoulders.
She managed to find an old outfit and that surprisingly still fit her. She walked out of the room and into the veranda. She saw only Han was sitting there. She laughed to herself thinking back to the fight they over heard him and Leia having. She figured Leia was giving him the cold shoulder.
"Well don't you look happy." Han said to her as she walked over to him.
"I don't know what you are talking about." Padme said holding back her smile.
"Like we all didn't see him come out of your room." Han said. "So your on Luke's side now. You truly think he has changed?"
Padme paused before answering. "I do. He has a lot he still needs to deal with, but he is no longer Vader. I hope you and Leia will be able to see that one day."
"I'll definitely say, he isn't what I imagine Vader to be like. He is definitely younger and ,I don't know, less vile than Vader. I'm not sure how Leia feels about him yet." Han said.
Padme was happy to see Han was slowly opening up to him. She noticed so many similarities between them and knew they would get along. She hoped Leia would change her mind, but like her father she was very stubborn and hot headed.
"Where is everyone else anyways?" Padme asked.
"Luke took Leia to her room. I guess he wanted to practice some lightsaber skills with her or something. I guess she is one with the force or whatever you call it." Han said rolling his eyes, causing her to laugh. She knew how he felt about the force and found it funny, that he managed to get himself so involved with family like this.
Anakin was walking down the hallway when he heard a grunt and then what sounded like an object being thrown. He looked in the open doorway next to him and saw Leia standing in a bed room holding a lightsaber with a seeker droid next to her. He remembered training with them, when he was a youngling. The blast were anything from deadly, but they did manage to sting if you got hit.
"You don't have to lurk in the doorway." Leia said and he could hear the frustration in her voice.
Not sure what to do he slowly walked into the room.
"Luke thinks I should train more. He thinks I have the force or something." Leia rolled her eyes.
"I wouldn't be surprised if you do. I had the highest midichlorian count recorded, so yours's and Luke's count are probably pretty high." Anakin and sensed her annoyance at having something else in common with him. "Here put the helmet back on. It's going to be a little difficult, since your older than most when they start to learn. I was actually too old to start training myself and I was ten. But Luke seems to have gained control rather quickly, I'm sure you can too."
He watched as she hesitated before slowly picking up the helmet she threw on the ground and placing it on her head blocking her eyes. He felt a small amount of fear from her, probably from being so exposed right now. He hated he managed to frighten her still.
"Okay I'm going to turn on the droid. Just close your and eyes and feel around you. You have to concentrate and not let anything distract you. You should able to feel where the blast is coming from before it even hits you. For the first one, I'm going to tell you where it's coming." He watched her nod her head and felt he calm down a bit.
He turned on the droid. "To your bottom left." He told her as the droid let out a blast and she quickly blocked it. He smirked impressed with her. He watched many younglings struggle with this. "Good, now your top right." He watched as she blocked it again. "Good, now try it on your own."
He watched her grip the lightsaber tightly as she managed to block two more in a row. The third one managed to hit her arm. "Lighten up your grip on the blade a bit."
They managed to do this many times in a row and he was impressed that she managed to block majority of the blocks.
"Okay. I think that's enough for the day." Anakin laughed turning off the droid. "Wait till Luke sees you the next time you practice, he isn't gonna know what hit him."
Leia took off the helmet and looked at it before saying anything. "Thank you." she softly said before turning around and starting to leave.
"Leia." He said as she stopped, but didn't turn around. "I'm sorry, for everything. I think besides your mother, I hurt you more than anyone. Maybe even more than Padme, actually. I just hope you can forgive me one day."
She paused there for a minute, before slowly walking out.
He could tell he was slowly gaining her trust and no matter how long it took, he was going to do it. He wasn't going to let Palpatine win. Not this time. He had a family worth fighting for and Palpatine wasn't going to get in his head this time and convince him other wise.
