The follow up tests went well, there were a few snags here and there, but Garth was able to quickly fix them. Several days later, the sonic lance was positioned at the foot of one of the mountains. As with before, a crowd had come to watch. "Okay, he goes," Garth said as he powered up the lance. As everyone watched, a tunnel was soon blasted open. "Let's see how far it goes," Garth said and disappeared into the tunnel.

"I am proud of him," Olga said, smiling.

"I can see that," Sarah Jane, who was standing next to her, said.

"So, you forgive him for what happened on..." Olga paused, searching for the name.

"Peladon," Sarah Jane said. "And yes, I do. I would never have thought it possible, considering what he did. However, he told me that the man he was on Peladon is gone, and I believe him."

"I'm glad," Olga said. "And I'm sure you know why."

"Yes, I'm sure, Olga," Sarah Jane said, smiling. "You both have my support."

"Da. I am glad." Olga then turned to see Garth emerge from the tunnel. "How far does tunnel go?"

"About twenty feet," Garth replied as he patted the sonic lance. "This baby has quite a kick."

"How long do you think it will take to break through?" Sarah Jane asked.

"I'm not sure," Garth said as he turned to look at the mountain that towered over them all. "Depends on how far back this mountain goes."
