Chapter 37 Let Me Keep You Safe

Kairi's POV

"Sora", I said in shock when said person summoned his Keyblade. "What are you doing?"

"Ending this once and for all", Sora replied.

"You don't mean...", I started. "You're not being serious are you?"

Sora didn't answer. He didn't have to. The look on his face said it all.

"No", I said in disbelief. "Sora, you can't! You'll get yourself killed!"

"We're all going to get killed if something doesn't happen Kairi", Sora pointed out angrily.

However, his face softened when he saw the look of distress on mine.

"Kairi", he started.

But before he could say anything else, I tackled him into a hug.

"Please Sora", I pleaded as tears fell from my eyes. "I beg you! Don't go! I just got you back! I don't want to lose you again!"

Saying this caused Sora to tense up.

Then...he hugged me back...and said something that took me by surprise.

"Remember what you told me Kairi", he asked causing me to tense up. "I'm always with you too."

Hearing this took me by surprise.

Then...Sora broke our hug, and cupped my face with his hands.

"I'll come back to you someday", he reassured me. "I promise."

Hearing this caused me to look at Sora in shock.

Then...I smiled and nodded.

"I know you will", I said. "But remember what else I told you?"

"What", Sora asked in confusion.

"This time...let me keep you safe."

"Huh", Sora asked in confusion. "What do you mean by tha..."

Before Sora could finish his question, it was cut off...by me kissing his forehead, and saying this.

"I love you."

After I said this...I pushed Sora to the ground!

Then...I started running towards the palace!

"Kairi", I heard Sora call out to me. "Don't do it Kairi!"

I didn't listen. Instead, I scaled the palace wall and made it to the balcony.

When I got there, I saw Terra on the ground injured!

Ven was still standing, but he was covered in cuts and bruises!

He was about to strike the Master of Masters again, but I stopped him by putting my hand on his shoulder.

"Kairi", he started in shock. "What are you doing here?"

"Thank you Ven", I said not answering said person's question. "You've done enough. Now, leave the rest to me."

"What", Ven asked in shock. "Are you sure?"

"I'm sure", I replied as I nodded. "Go take care of Terra. I'll take care of this."

"Okay", Ven said. "But please be careful Kairi. He is very strong."

With that...Ven went up to Terra...and I glared at the Master of Masters.

"What's this", he asked. "The princess is going to save the day?"

"I don't know about saving the day", I revealed. "But I do know one thing, I will not let you hurt Sora!"
