Iara Novaia, 18
District 12 Female.

Iara groaned as Seraphina knocked on her door. She was having quite the lovely dream about Eliza before she had been brought back into the real world suddenly.

"Cmon Iara, get up or you'll be late." Iara groaned again and dragged herself out of bed. She didn't want to see Fervin today, but she had to see him every day so it was sort of inevitable. She opened the door to Seraphina's nervous smile.

"Is there coffee?" Iara asked, rubbing her eyes. Seraphina nodded, and Iara pushed past her, making a beeline to the dining room. Fervin and their other mentor, Linus were already seated. Iara grabbed a plate and a large cup of coffee and seated herself as far away from Fervin as she could. He gave her a weird look but shrugged and soon went back to his food. She ate quickly, not wanting to spend more time around Fervin than she had to, and quickly returned to her room, discovering another outfit, in the same deep blue colour as the two from the two days before. She pulled it on quickly and left the room, heading to the elevator, not bothering to wait for Fervin.

The doors of the elevator slid open, revealing a few of her fellow tributes. She spotted Molly and Briony, leaning up again a nearby wall having a conversation and she beelined to them.

"Morning Iara!" Briony said, chipper as ever. Molly waved, seemingly less of a morning person than Briony.

"Morning," Iara said gruffly.

"What training stations shall we do today?" Briony asked.

"Dunno, I've already done a lot of them," Iara replied. Briony shrugged, as their two other allies approached. Iara didn't mind Scarlett, but Tovah freaked her out a little.

"Morning!" Scarlett said with a grin. Everyone responded with their own greetings, as the last few tributes trickled into the training room.

"Alright, that's everyone. You may start your final day of training." The lead trainer said. Tributes began to move around the room to various stations. Iara moved towards the fire making station, alongside Tovah.

Iara had been trying to get a fire going for the past ten minutes, but she hadn't had any success. Tovah nearby had already gotten a small blaze going.

"How are you so good at this?" Iara asked. Tovah looked over at Iara's pathetic attempt at a fire.

"Practice I suppose. Try using more grass." Tovah said, placing a few more sticks onto her fire. Iara grabbed more grass and tried again, this time the fire actually starting. She continued adding smaller sticks and the small fire grew stronger.

"Ah good, you got it," Tovah said, looking over. Iara didn't like the glint in her eye as she gazed into the fire. Iara stood and grabbed a nearby water bucket to extinguish the fire. She threw the water onto the small flame, it fizzled out quickly. She waved to Tovah and turned to leave, shuddering slightly. The glint in Tovah's eyes had gone out, and she looked cold, dead almost.

Jade Amberlynn, 17
District 1 Female.

Jade set the katana down back on the rack where she had gotten it from. She had spent the first half of the morning beating the shit out of a few dummies, trying to get what was left of her anger out. The kid from Four was seriously getting on her nerves, trying to prove himself by picking fights with her. He'd been better since yesterday after Sarmi had talked to him since he hadn't said a snarky word to her since. She stepped off the platform and headed towards Scipia who was watching Matthias and Cress throw spears.

"Hey want some water?" Scipia asked, holding a water bottle out. Jade took it, nodding.

"Thanks," Jade replied curtly. Jade liked Scipia, she was pretty no-nonsense once it actually got down to things. She could certainly take her more seriously than Matthias, who was practically a harmless goofball, or Cress who was just an underprepared kid.

"Where's Sarmi? I wanted to talk to him." Jade said, after drinking some of the water.

"Dunno, I think he went over to the poisonous plant's station," Scipia said with a shrug.

"Oh alright."

"Besides what did you wanna talk to him about?" Scipia asked a tone of intrigue in her voice.

"Ah nothing important, just wanted to talk to him about what he said to the pipsqueak yesterday," Jade replied, setting her water bottle down.

"I'll let him know next time I see him then," Scipia said, turning back to watch Cress and Matthias. Jade could tell her fellow careers weren't impressed with Cress either, the fact that a practically untrained child managed to volunteer was outrageous to her and it must've been to Scipia and Matthias too.

"I wonder how he managed to volunteer," Jade said.

"Who? Cress?" Scipia replied, looking over her shoulder at Jade.

"Yeah, didn't they have a designated volunteer?" Jade replied, sitting on the nearby bench.

"He told me his brother was supposed to be the volunteer," Scipia said.

"Did he tell you why he volunteered instead?" Jade responded.

"Nope. I'm guessing it has to do with him liking attention though." Jade agreed with Scipia on that, Cress seemed like quite the attention seeker.

"Makes sense to me."

"Hey, whatcha guys talking about?" Cress asked, joining Scipia and Jade.

"Oh nothing, just chatting," Scipia said, casually handing Cress a water bottle.

"Cmon Scipia let's go to the agility course," Jade said. Scipia nodded and grabbed her jacket joining Jade. They made their way across the training room, passing several of their fellow tributes including Briony. Briony, Jade thought. She would get her back for what her brother did to Mallard, maybe she couldn't yet but as soon as they got into that arena, Briony was a dead woman walking.

"Wanna go first?" Scipia asked as they stepped up to the course.

"Nah, you can go," Jade replied, stepping back to let Scipia go. She would avenge her brother one way or another, and if she had to kill Briony, then so be it.

Harry Ritchwell, 13.
District 6 Male.

Harry put the last piece of wood into place, completing the shelter. He turned to look at Keenan, who nodded happily. They had just finished lunch and were back to building their shelter.

"Looks good to me," Keenan said. Harry stepped into the small structure, it would probably fit two or three people at most, but they didn't need space for any more than that.

"Janna come look!" Harry called out. Janna, who was one station over attempting to make a fire looked up and gave them a thumbs up and a grin.

"Looks good!" She called out in response, before turning back to her small but growing fire.

"What do we do now?" Keenan asked, stepping into the small space alongside Harry.

"Dunno, take it down?" Harry replied with a shrug.

"Alright, cmon then," Keenan said, and they both stepped out of the structure. They started untying the various branches and sticks that were being used as the roof and walls, and eventually without the support it needed, the entire thing came crashing down. Keenan jumped back in surprise with a yelp, but his surprise quickly turned to laughter, which quickly turned to the pair of them standing in front of the ruins of their shelter, laughing.

"What are you two doing?" Janna said, approaching them after giving up on her fire-making efforts.

"Oh nothing, just laughing at Keenan's face," Harry said, wiping tears away from his eyes. Janna made a bit of a strange face at this and then shrugged.

"Want some help finishing the cleanup?" Janna asked. Keenan and Harry nodded, and the trio got to work taking the rest of the shelter apart.

"Where to next?" Keenan asked as the last of the shelter materials were returned to their original places. Harry looked to Janna who shrugged.

"What haven't we done so far?" Janna said. Keenan thought about it for a second.

"What about knife throwing?" Harry chimed in. Janna and Keenan looked at each other and then shrugged again.

"Why not, let's go!" Janna said, excitedly. They made their way over to the station, one of the lanes was occupied by the boy from One, as usual from what Harry had seen.

"You bunch here for knife throwing?" The trainer said, excited for someone to teach. The trio nodded in sync.

"Alright, I'll teach you one at a time. Who's first?" The trainer asked. Janna stepped up and the pair walked up to a station. Harry watched as the boy from One landed knife after knife into the dummy, and as Janna missed throw after throw. It was a learning curve he figured, not something you could pick up and be instantly good at. Well, they would have to get as good as they could, since tomorrow was their private sessions.

Saxony Paccino, 18.
District 9 Male.

Saxony grabbed the next rock on the wall, pulling himself ever higher. He had gotten pretty decent at the whole climbing thing the past few days. He reached the top of the wall and rang the bell at the top. He glanced down, and jumped off the wall, knowing the cushion below would catch him like a cloud. He landed on the cushion back first with a muffled thump, and then he rolled off of it as fast as he could. He could've climbed his way down, but he preferred to jump, it gave him a sort of rush that he loved. He finally managed to pull himself off the cushion fully, his feet landing on the ground with a thud. He stood, brushing himself off and thinking about how ridiculous he looked in pink, his district's designated colour. He could hear footsteps approaching, and he spun around to see who it was.

"What do you want?" He said, coming off hostile which he didn't mind.

"Just wondering if you'd like to ally with us." The boy from Twelve, Fervin said gesturing to himself and the boy from Seven, Sylvan.

"Why should I?" Saxony replied, crossing his arms in front of him.

"Well uh, you don't have any allies yet and we could be a great help to you," Fervin said, a tone of nervousness entering his voice.

"I don't need allies, they'd only slow me down," Saxony said, turning to walk away.

"Wait, are you sure?" Fervin said, lunging after him desperately.

"Yes, I am." He replied looking over his shoulder at Fervin before walking away leaving Fervin speechless.

"All right ladies and gents, training day three is over. Please head back to your floors promptly." Saxony made a beeline to the nearest elevator, not bothering to wait for his district partner. He didn't really care for her since she came off a bit bratty. He approached the elevator and hit the call button, tapping his foot as he waited. The elevator doors slid open and he stepped in, pushing the eight-button with a finger. The doors were sliding closed as a small pale hand caught the door, stopping them. The doors slid open again to let a shorter girl with bright blue eyes in. He believed her to be the girl from Seven, her name was Tovah he thought as she gestured to the number panel he was standing in front of.

"Oh, sorry. What floor?" He asked, gesturing to the panel.

"Seven please." She replied, leaning again the opposite side of the elevator. He pushed the seven-button, it lit up much the same as the eight-button and the elevator doors slid closed, this time nothing stopping them. The elevator took off, quickly gliding upward.

"So I heard your family was in the business of death," Tovah said, looking right into his eyes. She did unnerve him a little, but nothing too bad.

"You heard correctly, why do you ask?" Saxony said, slightly intrigued.

"My family is in a similar business." This didn't surprise Saxony, she did have an air of death about her.

"Ah, I see." They lapsed back into silence, the elevator quickly reaching the seventh floor, it stopped and the doors slid open. Tovah exited with a small wave, and the doors slid closed again taking off. Two strange interactions back to back, it had been a long day for Saxony.
