Episode 28: Spoils of War Part 2
Meanwhile with Albert...
*Albert slowly opens his eyes and takes in his surroundings*
He was tied to a chair in the middle of a large room. He observed old and outdated drapes in front of each window, a dust ridden carpet covering the floor, and a unique mantle with fencing swords engraved into it surrounding the fireplace.
Just then, a fire was lit in the fireplace revealing Sue standing there amidst the darkness.
"There you go Albert. Wouldn't want you to get cold." said Sue, with a devious grin.
"Sue! *struggles against his trappings* What is this?" said Albert frustrated.
"You should know Sentinel. This is the start of vengeance for a man you wronged many years ago." said Sue.
Albert suddenly stopped moving against his trappings as he focused on what Sue had just said.
"Sentinel. *wheezes* Or should I say, Albert. My, how the *wheezes* mighty do fall. Has your *wheezes* memory really faltered after *wheezes* all these years?" asked the mystery figure appearing next to Albert.
"You...YOU!" exclaimed Albert, attempting to pounce on the mystery man, but he was restrained by the ropes.
"Easy there Albert. *wheezes* It seems you still have some *wheezes* hostility over the past." said the mystery figure.
"You're darn right I do Hush! You killed my wife! I can never forgive you!" exclaimed Albert, emotional at this point.
"Really? Oh *wheezes* that's a shame. And here I was expecting an *wheezes* apology from you." said Baron Hush.
Baron Hush was revealed to be dressed in a black jacket with gold buttons and black pants. He wore a gray full head mask over his face fully concealing his identity. He also wore gray gloves and shoes.
"Apology for what? I have nothing to apologize to you for!" said Albert.
"*inches close to Albert's face* So you're going to pretend that what happened in Canada didn't-!"
Baron Hush suddenly stopped speaking to gasp for air.
"Easy Baron. Remember your lungs." said Sue.
"*uses his inhaler* Yes. *breathes* Thank you Sue. These accursed lungs... *wheezes* It's all your fault Sentinel!" said Baron Hush, pointing his finger at Albert.
"Consider that bullet a blessing. It should have killed you." said Albert.
"Hmph. *wheezes* If only you could say the same thing *wheezes* about your wife." said Baron Hush.
This statement enraged Albert and he suddenly found strength that had laid dormant inside of him for awhile. He broke through the ropes restraining him and lunged towards Baron Hush. However, Sue intervened and pushed him back.
"No sudden moves Albert." said Sue, as she took a metal rod out from under her nurse hat.
She then pushed a button on it that made the rod extend and at the top of it, an axe blade popped out.
"You're not laying a finger on the Baron." said Sue, readying her battle axe.
"You ought to *wheezes* control your emotions better Albert. The man I knew *wheezes* as the Ultra Sentinel was much more *wheezes* calm and collected than this." said Baron Hush, appearing out of nowhere once again.
"What's your game here Hush? If you want to kill me, just go ahead and do it." said Albert sternly.
"Oh but Albert, *wheezes* that would be too easy. No, *wheezes* I would prefer to torture you first." said Baron Hush, in a dark tone.
Albert suddenly screamed out in pain as he collapsed to the ground. He was clutching his left ankle in pain as Hush had just shot him there.
"Shh...Sentinel. *wheezes* Silence is to be maintained here." said Baron Hush, with a slight laugh.
Albert just continued writhing in pain on the floor, wondering how he was going to get out of this.
Meanwhile with Super Thunder...
"Lisa, this hovercraft is amazing! When did you and Lana find the time to build this?" asked Mr. Elastic astonished.
"From around the time when Lori got sick and Carol had to be her replacement for a few days. I figured Thunderbolt should have some sort of aerial mobility, should we ever have to venture into the sky. And as expected, we have to do so now." said Super Sense.
"This is pretty rad dudes!" said The Amp, looking out the window.
"Yeah! Talk about a BIRD'S EYE VIEW! Hahahaha! Get it?" joked Light Show.
Everyone just groaned as usual.
As the silence settled in, Mr. Elastic noticed his wife had been awfully quiet since they had left Aunt Ruth's lake house.
"Rita? Are you okay honey?" asked Mr. Elastic concerned.
"*sighs* Yes, I'm fine Lynn. I'm just looking through some of these pictures. It looks like Dad had been working for this agency for most of his life." said Ms. Shift.
"I mean, can you blame Pop-Pop? That seems like a pretty cool job to have." said Powerhouse.
"Yeah! Being a spy? You get to go on awesome secret missions!" said Freeze.
"It seems glamorous kids, but it also comes with its dangers. That's why Dad's in trouble now." said Ms. Shift, looking glum.
The atmosphere within Thunderbolt became silent again. Everyone was equally sad about the current situation.
Just then, Super Sense received a vision.
"*clears throat* Father, we're nearing the island. We should be seeing an old mansion coming up shortly." said Super Sense.
Mr. Elastic looked out ahead and saw that they were approaching said mansion quickly.
"Alright team. Here's the plan. Lisa, do you still have Albert's location?" asked Mr. Elastic.
"Yes. He appears to be located somewhere in the west side of the mansion." said Super Sense, reading the signal from her tracking device.
"Okay. Rita? Why don't you take five of the kids with you and I'll take four. One team will look for Albert in the west wing, while the other approaches from the east. This way, we all don't get caught up in some ambush." said Mr. Elastic.
"That's a great idea Lynn." said Ms. Shift.
"And Lisa, you'll stay in the Thunderbolt with Lily to update us on Albert's location." said Mr. Elastic.
"Will do father." said Super Sense.
"Alright kids. Who's going with me?" asked Ms. Shift.
"I'm going! I'm gonna set fire to this creep who kidnapped Pop-Pop!" said Flame.
"Hush is gonna be tone deaf when I'm done with him." said The Amp.
"Yeah! His punishment won't be very LIGHT! Hahahaha! Get it?" joked Light Show.
Everyone groaned as usual.
"Anyone else?" asked Ms. Shift.
"I should probably go to help you guys land on the island safely." said Madame L.
"And I'll totes go too! I can help us stay invisible to surprise Hushpuppy!" said Invisi-Girl.
"It's just Hush, Leni." said Wind Vane.
"Oh. Right." said Invisi-Girl.
"Alright honey, I'm about to fly over the island. You ready?" asked Mr. Elastic.
"Let's do this kids." said Ms. Shift, as she ejected from the Thunderbolt using her ejector seat.
Flame, The Amp, Light Show, Madame L, and Invisi-Girl all followed after her.
"Father, I would suggest activating Thunderbolt's cloaking mode now to avoid detection upon landing." said Super Sense.
"Good call Sense." said Mr. Elastic, as he activated Thunderbolt's cloaking mode, which made it appear invisible to the naked eye.
Despite this however, soldiers who were secretly perched in towers had already seen Thunderbolt approaching, and some went to notify Baron Hush immediately.
Back with Albert...
"Now Albert, *wheezes* you get to decide where I *wheezes* shoot you next. Will it be your other ankle? *wheezes* Or perhaps I'll move up *wheezes* to your kneecaps?" asked Baron Hush, readying his handgun.
"You're crazy Hush! *writhes in pain* You've gone insane!" said Albert.
"*smirks* Futile words spoken from a *wheezes* broken man." said Baron Hush, as he took aim at Albert.
Suddenly, however, the soldier from before barged into the room.
"My lord! Terribly sorry to interrupt-"
"What is it Bryant?!" exclaimed Baron Hush angrily.
"An unknown hovercraft was seen approaching the mansion. It appears that some heroes are planning to rescue your hostage." said Bryant.
"That's probably Super Thunder." said Sue, with her arms crossed.
"Super...Thunder?" said Baron Hush confused.
"They're a team of superheroes in Royal Woods. I didn't think they'd be stupid enough to venture all the way out here." said Sue.
"Hmm..." said Baron Hush in thought.
"What do you suggest my lord?" asked Bryant.
"Where are the heroes right now?" asked Baron Hush.
"They seem to be coming from the east side of the mansion." said Bryant.
"Report to my granddaughter and tell her to lead the fencing brigade over there. We'll see if these heroes are a real threat or not. Ratchet, you will accompany me and Albert here to the bridge." said Baron Hush, explaining his strategy.
"As you wish Baron." said Ratchet (Sue).
As Bryant left the room to retrieve Hush's granddaughter, Ratchet lifted Albert up over her shoulder and she and Hush proceeded to leave the room.
Meanwhile with Ms. Shift's team...
*Ms. Shift lands as an eagle*
"*shifts back to normal and activates communicator* I'm here kids. Where are you?" asked Ms. Shift.
"Coming in hot!" exclaimed Flame suddenly.
Ms. Shift looked up to see Flame, The Amp, and Light Show all floating down to the ground with the assistance of Madame L's telekinesis.
"Wait for me!" exclaimed Invisi-Girl, landing on the ground in a forcefield.
"Super Sense, has Dad's position changed?" asked Ms. Shift.
"Yes! He's on the move! It looks like they're taking him towards the back of the mansion!" said Super Sense.
"Oh no...we need to hurry!" said Ms. Shift, about to run off.
"Mom! Wait!" exclaimed Invisi-Girl suddenly, as she made a forcefield around everyone present.
A split second later, torrents of bullets rained down upon the heroes but nothing was getting through the forcefield.
"Yo IG! You saved our lives brah!" said The Amp.
"Don't mention it but, we're totes gonna need another plan to get out of here." said Invisi-Girl.
"Hmm...there's only two towers surrounding us and only two gunmen. If we can figure out a way to distract them for a second, we can take them out." said Ms. Shift.
"*clears throat* Allow me to SHED LIGHT on this situation." said Light Show.
There was an awkward silence after her statement.
"That wasn't a joke by the way." said Light Show.
"We know dude! Go ahead!" said The Amp.
Light Show then released a bright wave of light that blinded the gunmen in the towers for a few seconds. Once they were caught off guard, Ms. Shift sprang into action.
*Ms. Shift shifts into a gorilla and climbs to the top of the tower*
When the gunman regained his bearings, the next thing he saw was an angry gorilla staring back at him.
*Ms. Shift yells at the gunman which causes him to lose his balance and fall out the tower*
Luckily, he was caught with Madame L's telekinesis.
"Let me give you another L...FOR LIGHT! Hahahaha! Get it?" joked Light Show, as she bound the gunman with some energy rings.
The other gunman was about to take aim again when he was suddenly blasted out of the tower by a shock wave.
*gunman lands face first on the ground*
"I'll take these." said Madame L, using her telekinesis to remove the rifles from the men and throw them into the sea.
"Hope you don't mind the heat!" said Flame, as she trapped the man within a flame circle.
He quickly curled up in the center to get away from the flames.
"Good job girls." said Ms. Shift, shifting back to normal.
"Um, mother, you and your group might want to get a move on." said Super Sense.
"Right! Let's go!" said Ms. Shift, as she and her team sprinted towards the mansion.
Meanwhile with Mr. Elastic's team...
"Is this literally the front door?" asked Wind Vane, as they approached grand doors with lit torches on both sides of them.
"It looks that way. Everyone keep your guard up!" said Mr. Elastic.
Just then, the doors opened outwards and Mr. Elastic's team was met with a whole brigade of soldiers equipped with fencing swords. They were led by a young girl who also carried a fencing sword.
"Hello. I am Baroness Hush. Granddaughter of the great Baron of the Hush household. I'm afraid that this is the furthest you will go...*extends her sabre out*...Super Thunder." said Baroness Hush.
Baroness Hush had very curly ginger hair. She was dressed in a royal blue jacket with gold buttons and a royal blue skirt. She had on white knee high socks, gold shoes and white gloves. She also wore a gold half mask that covered the lower half of her face.
"Huh. That's weird. I feel like I've seen this girl before somewhere..." thought Lightning to himself.
"Listen. We're just here for our grandpa. So step aside and we won't have to hurt you." said Powerhouse.
"Oh please. I'm supposed to step aside when I have a whole army behind me? Where's the rest of your team?" asked Baroness Hush smugly.
"That's none of your concern. *sighs* I guess we'll be doing things the hard way Thunder." said Mr. Elastic.
"*smirks* You've all brought this on yourselves. Fencing brigade! En garde!" said Baroness Hush suddenly, as her fencing army ran ahead of her to combat the heroes.
*Powerhouse is punching soldiers down but then gets struck in the torso*
"Wow! Those things sting!" said Powerhouse, holding her chest.
She then quickly dove out of the way to avoid getting hit again.
Meanwhile, Mr. Elastic seemed to be tied up at the moment...
*all four of his limbs are restraining fencers*
"*grunts* I could use some help over here!" said Mr. Elastic.
"Here comes a dive bomb!" said Wind Vane, as she dropped a wind bomb on the bridge that heavily dispersed the soldiers.
Most of them were blown towards the mansion, but some ended up falling into the sea.
"Phew! Thanks Wind!" said Mr. Elastic.
"Anytime Dad." said Wind Vane.
Just then, Freeze skated through the fray, freezing any soldier she saw in place.
Very quickly, Baroness Hush realized that her army was losing numbers rapidly.
*Baroness Hush dodges an electric ball shot at her*
"Lightning. I would've expected more than sneaky tricks from you." said Baroness Hush.
"Listen. We don't have to do this. I don't want to hurt you." said Lightning.
"Oh that's too bad. Cause I'm gonna hurt you." said Baroness Hush, as she started thrusting forward with her sabre.
"Please! Don't! Do! This! Whoa!"
Lightning suddenly tripped and fell backwards only to be met with the tip of the Baroness' sabre in his face.
"You heard what your father said. Keep your guard up. Now, en garde!" said Baroness Hush, as she continued thrusting her sabre forward.
Lightning quickly scrambled to his feet to try and gain some distance from her.
The other heroes were still in deep combat with the other soldiers. This was going to take awhile.
Meanwhile with Ms. Shift's team...
"Yo Sense, we almost to the bridge?" asked The Amp.
"Yes. Take the next corridor to your left and there should be doors that lead you to the back of the mansion." said Super Sense.
"Alright gals. Let's go!" said The Amp, as she, Light Show, and Flame started running.
As they turned the corner however, they were met with an unexpected surprise.
"About time you brats showed up. Although I was expecting your mother. Where's Shift?" asked Sue, blocking the doors to the back of the mansion.
"None of your beeswax dude! Now are you gonna move out of the way or do I have to get loud?" said The Amp.
"You can put on a concert if you want, but you'll all be singing swan songs when I'm done with you." said Sue.
"Grrr..." said Flame, getting angry.
"Flame, chi-"
The Amp couldn't even finish her sentence before Flame took off running with fiery passion. Her fists were literally on fire and she was about to unleash an inferno on Sue. However, she wasn't prepared for what happened next.
*Flame narrowly dodges getting chopped by Sue's battle axe*
"Whoa! Since when do you have that?!" exclaimed Flame, in shock.
"There's a lot you don't know about me kid." said Sue.
Suddenly, she was knocked back by blinding light blasts.
"It's time to bring everything to LIGHT! Hahahaha! Get it?" joked Light Show.
Light Show then flipped out of the way of Sue, who came in swinging her battle axe at her.
"Your jokes are lame. I'm about to end your career." said Sue.
She was then blasted into a wall by a shock wave.
"Gotta get through me first dude!" said The Amp.
"That's it! I'm done with you kids!" exclaimed Sue, as she suddenly charged full speed at The Amp, ready to chop her down.
Just before she could reach her however, Flame suddenly ran in front of her and put up a flame barrier to protect her.
"Ain't nothing getting through these flames!" said Flame.
Sue couldn't stop herself in time and ran straight into the flame wall. She let out a scream before stumbling back dazed.
The girls noticed that parts of her skin were on fire but Sue herself didn't seem to be phased by this.
"*starts maniacally laughing* Take one last good look girls. The nurse you thought you knew doesn't exist anymore." said Sue, as she started peeling off sections of her skin.
The girls were at first mortified but then they realized that her "skin" was made of some kind of synthetic material.
"Witness the real me! Ratchet!" said Ratchet, now ditching the title of Sue forever.
Ratchet's hair was still intact, but her skin was missing in several places. Where the fake skin had burned off from the left side of her face, her right arm, and her left leg, a metal exoskeleton was revealed to be underneath.
"What the-"
"FREAK! Get it? Cause she's a freak...Sorry. You know how my jokes get when I'm nervous." said Light Show.
"Prepare to taste my axe!" exclaimed Ratchet, as she started charging towards the young heroes to which they had no choice but to dodge out of the way.
Meanwhile with Albert...
"*shoves Albert to the ground and aims his handgun at him* It seems I'll have to *wheezes* cut my torture short Sentinel. *wheezes* I would ask if you had *wheezes* any last words, but personally *wheezes* I don't care to hear them." said Baron Hush.
"*grunts* Hush. W-"
A gunshot was suddenly heard and the sound of it echoed for a few seconds. Hush looked down at Albert and saw that he was fine. He was confused until he saw that the bullet he had fired had left the gun, but it was being suspended by some mysterious force.
*Hush suddenly gets knocked to the ground and drops his gun*
"*gasps for air* What is the-"
Hush was suddenly rammed into a wall but he still couldn't see who was hitting him. It also didn't help that it was dark.
"You...You're the one who kidnapped my father." said Ms. Shift, still invisible.
"Who *wheezes* who are you?" asked Baron Hush.
Suddenly, Invisi-Girl and Madame L became visible a few feet away, which made Ms. Shift became visible. She was standing directly in front of Baron Hush.
"I'm Ms. Shift...and I'm gonna take it to you." said Ms. Shift, with anger in her eyes.
Albert sat up in shock and surprise as he watched what happened next unfold.
Ms. Shift repeatedly punched and kicked Hush while he was down. Due to him already being short of breath, there was pretty much nothing he could do to stop it.
*Hush is lying on the ground helpless and heavily wheezing*
"Don't you ever hurt my father again or I'll give you a second round of what you just got!" said Ms. Shift sternly.
"Mother! What happened? Did you save Pop-Pop?" asked Super Sense, via communicator.
"Yes Sense...yes. *breathes sigh of relief* Dad's safe...Dad's safe." said Ms. Shift relieved.
Just then however, three soldiers armed with rifles turned a corner and started shooting at the group.
"*puts up a forcefield* We totes need to get out of here!" exclaimed Invisi-Girl.
"Come on Pop-Pop. I'll carry you." said Madame L, using her telekinesis to lift Albert off the ground.
"Super Sense! Is there another way out?" asked Ms. Shift.
"Yes! There are another pair of doors that lead back into the interior of the mansion. Move quickly! Remedy needs to tend to Pop-pop's injury post haste!" said Super Sense.
"Got you Sense. Time to move kids!" said Ms. Shift, as she started running, with Madame L, Invisi-Girl, and Albert following her close behind.
"Everyone! We have Dad! We're gonna meet up on the east side!" said Ms. Shift, via communicator.
"Copy that moms! This way dudes!" said The Amp, as she led her group down another corridor, away from the swinging terror of Ratchet.
"We've gotta wrap this up guys! *activates communicator* Sense! Open up the sliding door! We're coming up!" said Mr. Elastic.
Super Sense scrambled to open up Thunderbolt's sliding door. Once it was open, Mr. Elastic stretched himself up to the hovercraft to act as a makeshift ladder.
"Powerhouse! Freeze! Wind Vane! Lightning! We're leaving! Let's go!" said Mr. Elastic.
Powerhouse and Freeze quickly climbed up and got into the Thunderbolt, while Wind Vane just flew in. However, Lightning seemed to be lagging behind a little.
"*strikes Lightning in the back and he falls down* Going so soon? I was really hoping you would finish this match." said Baroness Hush.
She started approaching Lightning who was still on the ground. Suddenly, Lightning shot out a crackle of electricity that caught the Baroness off guard.
She dropped her sabre and fell to the ground stunned. Lightning then sat up to a shocking surprise.
Baroness Hush's mask had been badly fried by the electricity had pretty much frayed away, revealing the true identity of the girl to be...
"Cristina?!" thought Lightning alarmed. He knew he recognized this girl from somewhere, but didn't expect her to be the girl who had switched out of his class.
Lightning was shocked but couldn't stop to inquire about it. Super Thunder was leaving.
"Let's go bro!" exclaimed The Amp, who scooped Lightning up and carried him up into the Thunderbolt.
Some soldiers started shooting at the hovercraft but were quickly blasted down by Light Show.
"LIGHTS OUT! Hahahaha! You should get that one." said Light Show, as she climbed into Thunderbolt as well.
She was followed by Flame and Invisi-Girl.
"Go ahead with Dad sweetie. I'm protecting you." said Ms. Shift, as Madame L escorted herself and Albert into Thunderbolt using her telekinesis.
"Come on honey! We've got to go!" said Mr. Elastic.
Just as Ms. Shift was about to climb up as well, a battle axe came flying in out of nowhere, aiming for Mr. Elastic.
Mr. Elastic luckily had fast elasticity and was able to stretch himself up before the axe hit him.
Ms. Shift looked behind her and saw Ratchet staring her down.
"There you are Shift." said Ratchet.
Ms. Shift was at a loss for words when she saw what happened to Sue.
"Don't look surprised. This is the real me." said Ratchet, as she started charging towards Ms. Shift.
Just before she reached her however, Ms. Shift shifted into a ladybug and flew out of her reach.
"*lands in Thunderbolt and shifts back to normal* You've got a butt kicking with your name on it too miss...but I already took it to your boss so how about you do your job and tend to him." said Ms. Shift, as she closed Thunderbolt's sliding door.
Ratchet had a serious scowl on her face as she watched Thunderbolt fly away from the mansion.
"*shakes her head with a smirk* They will pay for disgracing the Hush household." said Cristina Hush.
A few hours later, early in the morning, at the Loud House...
"How's your ankle Dad?" asked Rita, bringing Albert some tea.
"Oh it feels a lot better! Especially with this little doctor at the helm." said Albert, referring to Lily.
Lily just clapped and giggled before placing her hands back on Albert's ankle.
"*sighs* I'm sorry we didn't get there faster...or I'm sorry that I wasn't faster. I could've saved you at the retirement home but-"
"Rita, Rita, calm down. It's okay. You don't have to stress yourself about what you did or didn't do today. From what I saw, it seems like you did what you needed to do." said Albert.
Rita just smiled at her father.
"Rita...I'd like to apologize for what I said earlier. You, Lynn, and the kids are a great team and you're handling being superheroes just fine." said Albert.
"Thank you Dad." said Rita.
"*sighs* Rita, there was a bigger reason why I didn't like the idea of you fighting crime at first." said Albert.
"What was it?" asked Rita.
"*sighs* It's time I told you about your mother." said Albert, with tears in his eyes.
Rita instantly knew that this was serious.
"...Your mother was a beautiful woman. Gorgeous. Her smile could light up an entire room. She was blonde. Just like you." said Albert.
"Was this her?" asked Rita, holding the picture of Albert's wife in her hands.
"*sniffs* Yes...that's her...that's Daria..." said Albert, starting to shed tears.
"What happened to her?" asked Rita, holding her father's hand.
"*shakes his head* Hush had taken her as revenge for a previous mission where we met...I went alone, well, along with Ruth, to get her back. *sniffles* She was sitting in a chair in the middle of a room...I don't know why, I just didn't think! Why, why, why?!" exclaimed Albert, starting to get emotional.
"Dad...it's okay. Just calm down. *sheds a tear* Tell me what happened next." said Rita.
FLASHBACK
*a gunshot is suddenly heard followed by a shriek*
"Daria! No!" shouted Albert distraught.
END OF FLASHBACK
"He shot her. Hush shot your mother dead in cold blood. He showed absolutely no remorse." said Albert.
Rita closed her eyes in silence as she let out silent tears for her mother.
"Rita...look at me. *Rita opens her eyes* You know that I trust you with my whole heart, but I wouldn't trust the evil in this world for a second. *pauses* Please...I can't handle losing anyone else Rita. You're all I have..." said Albert, starting to cry again.
"No no, don't say that Dad. I'll always be here for you. Always. You can count on that." said Rita.
"Thank you Rita...thank you." said Albert, as he and Rita shared a loving embrace.
However, this embrace was sadly short lived, as there was an unexpected knock at the door.
"Who could that be?" asked Albert.
"I don't know. *checks watch* It's 4:00 in the morning! Who could be at our door this early?" said Rita confused.
Rita got up from the couch and went to answer the door.
"*opens the door slowly and peeks outside* Hello? Can I help...you?" said Rita, as she let the door swing wide open and stared in shock at who was at her doorstep.
Two well dressed men wearing suits were standing there. They both had metal shield pins on their left suit jacket lapels.
"Rita Loud. AKA Ms. Shift. I am Special Agent Luca of G.U.A.R.D." said Agent Luca, showing his ID badge.
"Special Agent Terrey ma'am. The director of G.U.A.R.D. is requesting to meet with you, the rest of Super Thunder, and in particular interest, your father Albert as well." said Agent Terrey.
Rita just looked back in shock at an equally shocked Albert. Lily seemed indifferent to what was going on.
