Through the Mirror part one.
I miss Mom!

...

Diana had been moping around the loft for the last few months now talking about how much she missed "Her other Mom." She hadn't been getting nearly as much attention with toddler Catherine and baby Chuck in the house. She was always helping out doing a LOT of chores since Mom and Dad were always so busy.

Her Dad Sean Renard had grown extra distant and hardly saw her except for birthdays anymore. He hadn't even showed up for her birthday two months ago - he had just shipped her present through Amazon.

And while she loved Grandmother Lascelles - Grandmother lived in Montreal. Grandpa and Grandma Bart and Alice lived in Vermont. She sighed again. She missed her other mom so much.

Nick had gotten back from a 48-hour shift finally solving a string of Wesen murders and was exhausted. Adalind was in court today - so Detective Dad was minding the house. He had just sat down on the couch with a beer when Diana plopped down into his lap.

"Hey Dad. *Sigh* I miss my other Mom."

"I know sweetie. I miss my mom too." Nick thought about it - he did miss his mom even though he hardly even knew her. He had known her for a grand total of 8 days since he was twelve.

Diana sighs again "I think about her a lot. I really want to see her." *Sigh*

"I know you do honey. I know you do. I know how much you loved her." *Yawn* mumble mumble mumble. Snore...

Diana hears Baby Chuck crying and heads off into the bedroom to check on him. She changes the baby's diaper and gives him a bottle of milk.

She sees little Catherine toddling around and looking hungry - so she feeds her a jar of Apricot puree for a snack. *Sigh* "Mom, I miss you so much."

Then she looks over into the corner and sees The Staff. Her eyes flash purple and she smiles a big smile.

She looks around - Dad is snoring in the couch. She gets the staff and heads into the bedroom and stands in front of Mom's full length mirror and focuses her thoughts. Her eyes turn purple and she touches the point of the staff to the mirror.

The glass quivers and *bloop* sloshes like a large puddle of water. A few seconds later the surface of the mirror starts swirling and turns into a boiling storm - Diana has opened a mirror portal to another reality.

She focuses intently and stares into it. Her bright purple glowing eyes peer into the swirling boiling abyss looking for what seems like hours. Finally, she smiles, whispers "Mom!", and removes the staff. *Bloop* portal closes and Mom's mirror is now a mirror again.

...

Kelly Burkhart is in Portland and is hunting a Bludbad and his Fuschsbau wife who had a Wesen Council contract on their heads. She had been following them for three weeks and was now ready to make her move. That backstabbing Bludbad and his crafty lying Fuschsbau wife! She had known better than to trust them but her son wouldn't listen. They had lead The Hexnbiest and that illegitimate half-Zauberbiest Royal lackey of hers straight to them! They had crossed the council one too many times. Now it was time for them to pay! She smiled. This one would earn her €75,000.

She had everything in place and was ready to move into the spice shop for the kills when she heard a girl's voice whisper "Mom!" behind her. No! It couldn't be! She whirled around and there was nothing except for a mirror in the storefront. She knew she heard her daughter's voice! She was searching around "Diana? Diana! Where are you baby? Diana?" But there was nothing.

She was on her knees now. Her eyes were sunken and red. The front of her shirt was wet with tears and she was reaching out to nothing "Diana! Sweetie! Come back to me!" She had still had nightmares of holding her daughter in her arms and watching her die. Diana had been her daughter since she was 18 days old and she had just turned eight years old.

She opened the small gold locket hanging around her neck. There were two pictures in it - Diana and her son Nick. She rubbed the pictures and cried. She had lost both of them two months ago! Her son AND her daughter were both gone two days after the girl's eighth birthday. Both of them murdered because of that Adalind and her Hexenbiest spitefulness.

Adalind had witched Sean Renard. The man had tried to shoot her and had missed - shooting Diana as they were escaping. In her rage she had chopped off his head - but she still couldn't get the image of holding her daughter, her beautiful Diana, as the girl died in her arms out of her mind.

Then the next day Adalind had murdered Nick right there in front of her. She had jumped in to attack Adalind as Adalind had attacked him but the witch had already killed him. She had tried to attack Adalind, but the witch got the jump on her and slammed her through three walls before escaping. She got back to his body just in time to watch her son die in her arms.

She hated that witch! She had taken everything Kelly loved! Letting her live when they had taken Diana all those years ago was the single biggest mistake she had made in her entire life! Nick had warned her but she had gone soft! She would not make that mistake again. Never give one of those things the benefit of the doubt!

She rubbed the pictures, wiped away the tears, and steeled herself - she had sworn she would cut the hexenbiest's head completely off the next time she saw her. All she needed was a few more bounties and she would have enough money to go back to Vienna and hunt that animal down and give it what it deserved!

She got back up and dusted herself off. The spice shop was just around the corner. It was time to collect the bounty on Monroe and Rosalee! She had a witch's head calling her name!

...

A week later Kelly was just taking pictures to collect her next Wesen Council Bounty - The Eisbeiber. She narrowed her eyes. That nosy Eisbeiber and his big mouth. His big mouth got Nick's wife Juliette killed eighteen months after they took Diana. He had lead Adalind straight to them. Well, he had crossed the council one too many times. She finished up and smiled as she looked up at the sign "Wurstner's Refrigerator Repair." She smiled as her account updated another €30,000.

...

Her next bounty was the strange one. A Kersite police officer had somehow gotten infected by a Lycanthrope. Sergeant Drew Wu was considered a severe contagious danger to the Wesen Community and was worth €100,000. The bounty was to be increased by 25% if collected this week due to the imminent disease threat.

This one had been particularly easy. She had been waiting inside his apartment for him. *Click* send. Off went the picture of the police officer's head sitting in his lap. Within a few moments she got notification of the deposit to her bank account. *smile*. Now she had enough money to travel back to Vienna and collect a witches head - crown prince Eric Renard's consort or not, this Grimm was getting Adalind's head!

She was about to open the door to leave when she heard her daughter's voice from the bathroom. "Mom! Are you there Mom?"

"Diana!" She ran into the bathroom but nobody was there. She looked around and tears came to her eyes and she whispered. "Diana?"

Then she heard it again "Mom? Mom!"

She looked up and saw Diana's face talking to her in the mirror. "Diana! Honey! I'm right here!"

She reached for the mirror to touch Diana's face. The mirror started violently swirling and something grabbed her hand. She tried to pull back but felt herself being drawn into it. She was grabbing the sink and finally the mirror frame trying to drag herself back out but she wasn't strong enough. *Bloop* ripples sloshed across the mirror like a drop of water had dripped into a bucket and Kelly was gone. The apartment was quiet and everything in the bathroom was back to normal.
