It is officially the Episode A Few Good Men in terms of timeline stuff...
"Can you use a sacrificial spell to find her?"
Samantha sighed, looking at her sister. " No, not without a massive sacrifice. The further away she is, the strong it would have to be. A vampire would be best, their immortal essence would give them resistance to my spell so they don't die outright. Still they would be at a serious risk of dying regardless... of course is only because I am assuming she is at least in another state. A simple locator spell with your blood, cast by Bonnie or I would be enough. "
Elena gaped at her. " All that just to tell me that a locator spell can find our ancestor?"
"Basically, we need to be careful with Sacrificial magic Elena. It is costly and not just due to the loss of life. Dark Magic has a way of warping the mind is not used properly and I am too inexperienced and without a safety net. No, for this we need to be careful and use regular Traditional magic. Your her doppelganger, literally it seems. Your blood is hers and viceversa, it should be an easy spell to cast a locator spell between the two of you."
Her sister nodded, looking as if she understood what the hell she was talking about... "Well, then why don't we find her that way? I mean it's been a month! You already disrupted the spell for the second time, helped getting that guy Pearl was fond of... Harper I think, out of the tomb."
"And you talked to Stefan and forgave him for not telling you about Katherine being identical to you, helped me keep Damon sane and not homicidal as much as possible, found out more about our dear Mommy Isobel and helped harass Dear Uncle Johnny boy into doing as I asked and find Katherine. You've had a busy month, especially since your finally starting to work out and learn combat like the rest of us."
And she was, it was a remarkable change but since she quit Cheerleading, to the anger of Caroline, Elena had been sparing with Stefan almost daily and had actually put on a shocking amount of thin muscle. She was learning how to fight with her slim boy, which was coming in handy. Or it would in the future... or so they hoped. Elena was sort of hopeless in combat so far, but she was atheletic so they hoped it would start working in her favor soon.
Currently they were sitting on the comfortable porch, enjoying the cool fall air while Elena wrote and Samantha tinkered with her grimoire, adding notes to various spells Emily had made so that she could manage them. So far she had figured out and cracked two very minor healing spells (dealing with burns and infections) and a spell to knock people out both in regular form and a potion form. Only one lasted very long... She was, at the moment, working on a spell to read minds using water that Bonnie and her would willingly practice on a surprisingly willing Jeremy later in the day.
Emily was a genius to say the very, very least about her. She could have ruled entire nations with her talent...
"Did Emily find anything that could help us find our ancestor or Mother?"
"Nothing really, she never focused on that kind of magic. More on healing and enchantment... Grams was more into locator spells though, oddly enough, and she has a lot of them. Like I said though we can use that magic, Traditional to find her."
Jenna, in her normal sweet form, stepped into the outdoors and offered them a smile while wrapped up tight in a coat and scarf. "Not to be the one to listen in, but I couldn't help it... and I have a suggestion if you don't mind. I think I found her... Come inside.
"""
Jenna, opening a laptop and some journals, plopped it on the dinning room table in front of the girls. "Your dad kept everything from his medical practice—records, logs, old appointment books. "Flipping through the pages, she found one she was looking for. " I found an entry from the night you were born. Patient and a birth date. Isobel Peterson."
Naively, Elena asked. " Do you think that's her real name?"
"Pregnant teenage runaway? Probably not. First name, maybe. But where'd she get Peterson? Classmate? Best friend? So I binged it.I searched for all the Petersons in this area born the same year as Isobel, found 3-2 men and a woman, Trudie, who lived in Grove Hill, Virginia.
" That's not far from here."
"She sounds smart." Begrudgingly, Samantha sighed out in praise of her birth mother. "But why our dad, I mean he isn't the only doctor nearby and it seems fishy that they found the one doctor looking for a kid since he and his wife couldn't have one."
Jenna nodded. " Fair point... I think she may be connected to the Gilberts or Sommers. Your dad would do anything for family, it wasn't always a good thing either... unlike this... anyway there is something I wanted to show you... I can't explain it but...Well, watch this." Jenna typed something else into the search engine and pulls up an image of Isobel from high school. "Look."
Elena and Samantha both gasped, a shot of pain seared through Samanatha. " She looks just like you... Samantha she could be your doppelgänger. The only difference, literally is your build. She is thin like me and your a lot curvier but other then that your just... identical."
Absently, Samantha nodded, burying her pain. "She was a cheerleader like you." She barely recognized her voice the pain was not something she expected.
Maybe Jenna sensed this, rubbing Samantha's back. " Trudie still lives there." She handed a postit not to Elena. "This is her address... but I could find nothing on Isobel. I am sorry about that... I know you wanted to know more Elena, and you didn't want to know anything Samantha... but I did try."
"We appreciate it... Elena, give me your hand." Samantha didn't bother to wait for her sister, stealing her hand and focusing. Instantly, without any spell work, she saw her Mother as her pain augmented her magic. She was beautiful, powerful but tiny. "I can see her when I touch you, through our blood link to her... she is around somewhere. I can cast a locator spell... don't go without me. I admit, I am curious now." She tried to hide her pain, the ache in her chest, but it was hard.
Elena grasped her hand tight. "Of course..."

With some disgust, Vicki overheard her adorable brother Caroline conodal on the couch, watching TV. It was disgusting, them being so cute together. She wasn't sure when it happened but at some point the to started dating beneath her way too perfect Vamp nose, leaving her to gasp in disgust every so often as Matt Rebounded on a bitchy but ultimately nice girl like poor Caroline.
A huff, from Caroline drew her attention... and apparently Matty's.
"What?" He asked.
Caroline, in a naturally bitchy but sweet way only she was capable of, pipped up. "This is boring. I'm bored."
"Wow."
"But we have this entire house to ourselves. I mean, it's practically a bachelor pad."
The urge to scream out, no you don't, was strong, but she wanted Matt to be happy. Caroline was doing that so she could ignore the forgetting she was there and just let them continue... unfortunately she heard a car pulling up and a very odd scent filling the air. It was like booze and blood and a whiff of PCP...
"And... "
"So shouldn't we do something a little bit more bachelor-paddy?"
"What? Something like this?" She heard the gross sound of skin on skin, the nastiness of a kiss.
A little breathless, Caroline pipped up "Something like that."
For some reason he TV turned on, masking the sound of an approaching person.
" I don't know. This is a pretty good show."
The sound of Caroline, lightly, thwacking Matt ( if it was hard and abusive the girl would be buried alive... via compulsion) filled the air. "Seriously?!" Then she giggled and the sounds of kissing and moaning filled the air.
Then she heard the Bitch herself speak up.
"Oh, god! Not on my couch."
"Mom! Hey."
Vicki barely stopped herself from speeding out there and ripping the bitch apart but settled for rushing to the doorway and glaring at her mother. "My couch you mean I bought it and a lot of new things with help from my sponsors." She growled at her mother, striding forward as only a predator could. Kelly looked at her shocked, not used to seeing her dressed in a sun dress clearly. "Your not welcome in my house, and it is my house. You were behind on payments so I had it bought and put in my name. Leave."
"Vic-"
"No, Matty. I just quit drinking, drugs and parties. I will not have her back to drag us back into poverty or stealing our money to fund her habit. She is going to leave and not come back."
Kelly was stunned. "But I'm your Mother."
"Barely, but I have been raising and taking care of Matty for years and him me when I needed it. Your flesh and that's it. So leave before I call the cops. This one's mom is on duty and we know how Lizzie hates your guts."
"Lizzie the Lezzie can't do shit to me."
Vicki felt everyone cringe, but she just rigged up a nice smile on her face. " I'd love to introduce you to my girlfriend, but I am sure she'd beat your ass since you already know her. Remember Samantha Gilbert?"
Older adult or not, Kelly cringed at the notion of her daughter dating someone who had in front of her beat many a full grown man's ass. "Your dating Samantha?"
"More or less, and she is not happy since you ditched us to fend for ourselves months ago! Your not welcome, Kelly. Get your ass out."
"""
Damon wasn't too happy, but he was being productive and oddly that helped. Helping Jenna, who he had come to like well enough, with putting up decorations and whatever while listening to her prattle on about Elena and Samantha's bio mother was... mind numbing. Boozed up just a little and very tired, he managed to ignore his pain long enough to actually respond appropriately as she spoke.
"... And they went off to see her friend Trudie. I have never seen Samantha so shaken. Her mom is identical to her."
That stunned him, his eyes wide. " Wait identical... like Katherine and Elena?"
"Not quite but close, they look more like twins then Elena and Samantha do."
"Let me see a picture." A familiar face, Samantha's, but thinner came to him despite the booze and he felt a wave of horror in his gut as he thought more about it. When Jenna showed him the pic he all but upchucked all the booze in his system. "That's not good..."
Jenna looked wiser then her years. " Did you kill her?"
"Not technically..." He shivered thinking of Samantha's punishment. "I turned her..."
"We have to tell the girls..."
"Later, please... I'd like some more time before Samantha kills me."
"""
"Trudie? Tru-trudie Peterson?"
Trudie was beautiful, kind looking like any other girl next door. "Yes?... oh my god your her daughters. " Trudie was all but gasping, her eyes filled with shock and pain. "You look just like her..." Samantha was the sole focus of her gaze.
'Uh, my name is Elena Gilbert. I wanted to talk to you about... we wanted to talk to you about Isobel Flemming but I am sure you guessed that from looking at Samantha.
Trudie nodded. " It's been years since I even heard her name... but of course. "Trudie laughed, a smile on her face. "I was just gonna make some tea. Would you like some?
The sister's shared a look before both offering a nod.
"Uh, the kitchen's this way."
Ever the first to speak, Elena opened her mouth. "I wasn't going to come, but I guess... when we saw how much she looked like Samantha, we had to see you. To learn about her. Our adopted parents, they died a few months ago. We aren't holding out for much but..."
" It's no problem. Um, just a surprise, though." They sat a table, looking at each other while Trudie soaked her in." I haven't thought about Isobel in years."
" When was the last time you saw her?" Samantha piped up finally, a pain in her chest as she took in a trace of her mother's life. Someone that had been important to her.
"About 17 years ago, when she left to go have you two. We kept in touch for a while, but, well, you know, people drift apart."
Then Elena asked. "And you don't know where she ended up?"
"She was in Florida for a while. She was on her own. I know it wasn't easy."
"Do you have any idea who our father is?"
Then something odd happened, Trudie seemed pained or even worried. "I could never get her to fess up. Anyway, she finally pulled it together, got into college on a scholarship."
"Where did she go?"
"Somewhere in North Carolina. Duke, I girl, smart school." The kettle starts whistling from the kitchen."Let me just grab that."
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
Expect somewhat regular updates when I can. I can't devote all of my time again to FF like I had for like two months but some yes...
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
