Alex's P.O.V
Immediately sunlight shone in my room, and I opened my eyes to see my older brother standing in front of my window. "Get up," Damon commanded.
"Why? It's," I looked at my alarm clock on my desk. "8 am," I said, and I turned around in my bed, facing away from my window. "Just let me sleep for a few more minutes." The blankets were then pulled off my body, and I sat up frustrated at Damon. He looked at me with a smug smile, happy to see that I was now up.
"Get dressed, we leave in two minutes," Damon stated, and then walked out of my room. I groaned as I got out of bed and got changed. Once I was dressed, I made my way downstairs to see Damon was holding a travel mug.
He handed it to me and said, "Coffee with milk and a dash of AB positive."
"I hope you realize I'm still angry with you for waking me up this early," I said to him as I took a sip of my coffee. Damon held the door open, and I walked outside with him as he closed the door behind us.
"Well, it was your idea to undagger Elijah," Damon began to explain as he leads me towards the woods. "I only thought it would be fair for you to join me as I go talk to him." I hummed in agreement as we walked together.
Damon and I were walking toward a meadow. "Why did Stefan punch you last night?" I asked him, trying to make small talk.
"He's angry that I kissed Elena," Damon answered, and I stopped in my tracks. I glared at Damon when he turned around to me.
"You kissed Elena?" I asked him. "Are you trying to repeat history?!" I yelled at him.
"Would you drop this whole 'repeating history' thing?" Damon asked annoyed, and I scoffed.
"Umm, no Damon. I'm not going to drop it because that's exactly what is happening." I explained. Damon was about to say something when he got a call from Elena. I was still pissed off at him but continued to walk next to him when he turned around. I was again drinking my coffee as he held the phone to his ear. I decided to listen in, so I knew what was going on.
"Hello, Elena." Damon greeted.
" We need to talk, " She said.
"About?" He asked as we looked at each other.
" The stake found in Brain Walters chest, well the Sheriff ran it for prints. " She explained.
"So?" Damon asked confused.
" They were my prints, Damon, " Elena told him.
"So you're the prime suspect, huh?" Damon teased, and I rolled my eyes at him.
" She doesn't think that I did it, " Elena said. " She's just trying to find out why someone used one of my family's weapons to kill a council member. "
"Well, why don't you just ask Ric if his dirty little doctor had access to the weapons," Damon said, and I looked at him. Asshole.
" You're on speakerphone, dick, " Alaric said, and I smiled a bit. At least I'm not the only one offended by that comment.
"I'm just saying; the first suspect is usually the right one," Damon told them as he looked at me, knowing I also was offended by that statement. "Don't get so defensive." Ok, now I'm even more pissed off by that statement.
" Brian Walters was killed days ago, all right? I didn't show Meredith this stuff until last night. " Alaric explained.
" It wasn't Meredith, " Elena said.
"But Brain Walters was her ex-boyfriend, and Ric saw them fighting that night," Damon explained, and I heard Elena slam her hands on a table.
" It's not Meredith, ok? " Elena told him. " I refuse to believe that your luck with women is that tragic, " Elena said to Alaric.
"Who else knows about your secret little slayer stash?" Damon asked them. Damon and I continued to walk towards the middle of the meadow where I saw Elijah standing there, waiting for us though Damon hadn't noticed him yet.
" Who doesn't? I've got weapons everywhere. " Alaric told him. " Here, the school, my loft, your car. "
"It's Klaus. Has to be." Damon stated. I wouldn't put it past him. "He's just screwing with us."
" I wonder if it was Stefan. " I wouldn't put it past him either, in his current state. " He was crazy that night. You know, he was trying to get underneath Klaus' skin. He was capable of pretty much anything. "
"Ah, makes me nostalgic for the time when Stefan was a bunny-snacking pacifist," Damon said, and I nodded in agreement, those were simpler days. Damon looked up as we stopped walking and stood in front of Elijah, who had a new haircut. "Anyway, got to go. More later."
" Hey, where are you? " Alaric asked him.
"Tea with an old friend," Damon said and hung up the phone.
"Elijah. Our favorite original," I said as we walked closer to him. "Back from the dead." Elijah began to pull out a note from his navy blue suit. "You clean up nice."
"You two left something…" He held out the note in front of us. I looked at it confused, which Elijah seemed to notice. "In my jacket pocket."
"Oh, yeah," Damon said. "Dear Elijah, let's get together, plot the destruction of your brother. Xo, xo."
"Damon and Alex," Elijah said. "Though from the confusion on your little sister's face, I can tell she was unaware of the note."
"But it was my idea to undagger you," I said, and he looked at me. "Was I right to do that, or are we all going to have a problem here?" I asked him.
"I'm here. Let's talk." Elijah said to us with a shrug.
"Well, let's start with an easy question…" Damon said. "Any idea what kind of Klaus killing weapon could be magically sealed in a mysterious coffin?" Damon asked him.
"Sad to say I don't," Elijah told us. "My brother has many secrets that he does not tell me. This coffin seems to be one of them."
"But do you know of a way to take him down?" I asked him.
"Well, with Rebekah undaggered and still angry with Klaus for killing our mother… I'd say if you two help me undagger my other two siblings, that will throw him off guard." Elijah explained.
"Fine," I said to him. "Just give us a place and time."
"My little brother's mansion. 8 o'clock. Wear something nice. I'll arrange a dinner party so your family and mine can "discuss" a peace treaty." Elijah told us and began to walk away. Damon and I shared a look before walking back home.
~Later that Afternoon at the Boarding House~
I walked up to Stefan's room and heard the shower running. I went into his closet and picked out one black shirt and one dark blue long sleeve shirt. I laid them on his bed, and he walked out of the shower, without a shirt, then gave me a confused look.
"Get dressed," I told him. "Damon, you, and I are going out tonight."
"Yeah, sorry not interested," Stefan said as he grabbed a more casual black shirt, that was on a chair in his room, put it on, and walked over to me.
"Well, I don't care," I told him. "I didn't just spend an entire morning in a meadow for you not to go. Damon, Elijah, and I have scheduled a sit-down between you and Klaus." I looked down at the two shirts. "I say go with the black. It suits your current mood at the moment." I looked back up at him.
"Klaus won't make a deal, Alex," Stefan said and took the two shirts off the bed.
"He didn't have to," I said to him as he put the shirts away in his closet. "All we have to do is buy a little time for Bonnie and her mother to unlock that damn coffin." I sat down on his bed as he walked over to the mirror in front of me and began to button up his shirt.
"So that's your guys, uh, plan?" Stefan asked me. "Stall Klaus."
"Well, if you hadn't gone postal on his Hybrids, then maybe we'd have some options." I snapped.
"So you unleash an original to help him out," Stefan said as he looked at me through the mirror.
"Undaggering Elijah was one of my smartest plans, Stefan," I explained as I stood up. "Are you kidding me? After what Klaus did to him, he wants vengeance." Stefan turned around to me. "Which is exactly what I wanted."
"There's nothing smart about trusting Elijah, Alex," Stefan said as he walked over to his desk and picked up his drink. "He screwed us over the last time he promised to help us kill Klaus."
"Yeah, and the way you've been acting, I'd trust him about as much as I trust you," I told him.
"Hmm." Stefan chuckled. "Well...guess that goes both ways, doesn't it?" Stefan asked and took a sip of his drink.
"Oh, yes. This all has to do with the fact that Damon kissed Elena." I told him.
"You know about that?" Stefan asked, surprised that I knew.
"Damon told me this morning when we were going to meet with Elijah," I explained. "And I don't care if you two are fighting over Elena right now because you're going to this dinner party whether you like or not Stefan." I declared, and my little brother didn't look pleased. "This is our only shot to get rid of Klaus. So get dressed and put on a smile. Tonight we're going to negotiate a fake truce with the devil, and I don't want your attitude fucking it up." I then walked out of his bedroom and made my way to my room to get ready.
~Late that Night at the Mikaelson Manor~
My brothers and I stood outside Klaus's mansion. Klaus and Stefan were going to be in the same room for an entire evening. So many things could go wrong, and I hoped to god they didn't. Damon and I shared a look before looking at Stefan. I checked my watch.
"It's 8 o'clock," I said and knocked on the door. The door opened, and we were greeted by Elijah.
"Niklaus, Rebekah," Shit! I forgot she would be here. "Our guests have arrived," Elijah called out to his siblings, announcing our arrival.
The three of us walked in and saw Klaus standing by a table with six chairs. He stood by one chair while Rebekah stood by the chair behind him. She greeted us with a smile and was wearing a beautiful navy blue pencil skirt with a white blouse and tan heels. I, on the other hand, was wearing a burgundy-red backless jumpsuit. Klaus looked at my outfit before speaking to us.
"Damon. Stefan." Klaus greeted. "Elijah tells me, you seek an audience. Very bold. Let's discuss the terms of our agreement like civilized men, shall we?" I looked at him sternly, which he noticed. "And ladies," Klaus said correcting himself and throwing a sideways glance behind him to Rebekah.
We stood there, in the dining room, for a moment as Elijah walked around us. The table was set, and there was food on the plates: two female and male servants standing behind them. The men wore a gold shirt with a black bowtie, vest, and pants. The women wore a gold blouse and a black pencil skirt.
"It's better to indulge him," Elijah told us, and we looked at him.
"I didn't come here, uh, to eat, Klaus," Stefan said as he walked in front of Damon and me towards the table. Klaus gave him a cocky smile, and I was worried about what Stefan would say next. "In fact, I didn't want to come here at all. But I was told I had to," Stefan looked at me. "'Cause you would hear us out," Stefan explained to him. Great, grumpy Stefan's here.
"Hmm." Klaus hummed as he looked down at the floor for a moment before looking back at Stefan. "Well, we can sit and eat," Klaus said moving closer to his chair as one of the women pulled it out for him. "Or I can reach down your throats and pull out your insides." He said to us as he sat down. Rebekah and Elijah remained standing behind their chairs as they looked at us. "The choice is yours." Damon and I both looked at Stefan.
Once Stefan moved towards the seat closest to Elijah, and Damon walked to the place closest to Klaus, I sat in between them across from Rebekah. "Hello, Alex." She said to me, and I smiled at her.
"Hello, Rebekah," I said as I placed my napkin in my lap and one of the men poured me a glass of red wine. The women poured the wine for the men at the table, and I got the feeling that the men-servants were only here because of Rebekah.
"Thank you," I said to the man who poured my wine before he walked away.
We began to eat the food in front of us, and I caught Klaus looking at me a few times. I was happy that I could distract him, after all, it was the entire reason we were here. Though his attention quickly turned to my little brother as one of the women poured Damon some more wine.
"Thank you, love," Damon whispered to her and hummed as she walked away. I rolled my eyes at my older brother and wished he would stop staring at the waitress.
"You lost your appetite," Klaus said to Stefan, and I realized Stefan hadn't taken a bite of his food. Are you trying to blow our cover?
"Eat." I scolded him. "I thought we agreed that we would leave the grumpy Stefan at home." He stabbed his food with his fork before eating it. You are a man-child, I swear to god.
"That's the spirit. Isn't it nice?" Maybe for you. "The six of us dining together? Such a treat." Klaus said and looked at me. "Is this what you had in mind when you pulled the dagger from my brother, Alexandria?" Klaus asked me. I saw Damon and Stefan look at me. This seemed to catch Klaus' attention. "Did I say something wrong?"
"No," Stefan answered Klaus while looking at him. "We're just shocked she hasn't yelled at you yet."
"And why would she do that?" Rebekah asked.
"She doesn't like to be called Alexandria," Damon answered her but didn't take his eyes off me as Stefan did.
"Well, unlike you uncivilized neanderthals, I understand that there are a time and a place," I said to my brothers, then looked at Klaus with a smile. "As for your question, Klaus," I looked at Elijah. "I know how your older brother felt about you and your sister, so I figured the more, the merrier." I smiled playfully at Elijah. Klaus then looked between us, slightly angry at my gesture towards his older brother, and then leaned back in his chair.
"Well, Elijah, Rebekah, and I have had our share of quarrels over the centuries. But we always make it through." Klaus said, and Elijah gave him a half real-half fake smile.
"Kind of like you and your other siblings, right?" Stefan asked him, and Klaus looked at Stefan annoyed. "Where are, they, by the way? Last I checked they are still daggered because you are too afraid to face them." Stefan then took his wine glass and drank it. Both Damon and I gave him an annoyed look. Why did you bring them up, Stefan?
"Hey, Stef, remember when you killed dad?" Damon asked him as we both grabbed our wine glasses. "Might want to dial down the judgment until dessert," Damon told him while I took a sip of my wine.
"We're here to make a deal, Damon," Stefan said as I placed my glass down and ate another bite of my food. "Doesn't mean we need to kiss his ass for seven courses."
"Damon is just saying we have a long evening ahead of us," I told Stefan calmly. "Pace yourself."
