PLEASE READ

Hey guys, I'm so so so sorry. I hope everybody is ok with everything going on. This year has been pretty challenging for all of us.

I know its abrupt and not what I promised or am even at the right point this time, but truth be told. For the time being I'm going to give this story an ending. So this is the premature epilogue.

This story is over two years old and I'm proud of myself for getting this far, but I kind of lost love for it a while ago, especially because tbh I didn't actually know where this story was going let alone going to end. I've just been writing as I go, which is what works for me, usually. This story has more become a burden for me in the back of my mind which is a weird thing to say but I feel like it'll bring me relief to… let it go. Even if it doesn't have its right end.

I was mostly continuing to write because I wanted to do it for you guys, and also because I've written fanfictions before (both for the mortal instruments) which had good plot line but I couldn't carry through. I didn't want to give up and let myself down. This story was originally going to end later, after Link had completed the champions ballard. The epilogue is roughly the same as what I intended, but the chapter before this one was kind of a good point to let go.

Funnily enough I actually do have another idea for a tloz fanfic but it most likely won't happen. It could, slim possibility if I have free time… later this year and early next year before (and if) I go to Uni. I might come back to this and finish it off properly in that time as well. But for now, I think it will be a relief to not have it 'around'.

Please understand and respect that this was a very difficult decision to make and it's just better for me at the moment to focus on what matters and will matter later in life (not that this doesn't but not as important). I appreciate all of you reading this story and giving me confidence in my writing ability. I will continue to write, just my books. And if they do get published, I'll post something on here letting you know just in case any of you might be interested.

THANK YOU ALL SO SO MUCH AND I LOVE YOU ALL!

So without further ado (or however you spell it) let the finale commence:

- Abbey (absterclaire)

"Well, how was it?" Riju smirks at us.

"Can you be more specific?" Link fires back, a cold shiver running down his spine.

"The honeymoon," she rolls her eyes, "what else?" She raises a brow.

Zelda hides her smile.

"Good." Link gulps and continues forward.

"You're telling me everything," Riju whispers, falling into step beside Zelda.

Zelda shrugs as they steer off towards the throne room. "It was fun, relaxing. Nice to get away from everyone."

She nods. "And did you guys…?"

Zelda fails to contain her smile, looking away.

Riju's mouth opens and she looks over towards where Link walked off, an evil glint in her eyes. She starts towards him.

Zelda grabs her arm. "Give him a goddamn chance to settle in, he was nothing but gentle, caring and sweet. I'm very lucky."

"Oh, I know he is and you are. I just want to kick his ass for the sake of it."

"Riju! You will not touch his ass!"

She waggles her eyebrows at her. "His ass, is your ass?"

Zelda nods.

Link walks back into the room, tugging his champions tunic down, but pauses upon seeing Riju.

They stare at each other, predator and prey, before Link breaks out into a sprint, bolting for the castle doors. Riju lunges after him and Zelda follows, wanting to see what's about to go down.

By the time they manage to get out Link has somehow disappeared.

Riju lets out a frustrated groan and cackling echoes above them.

Standing on the top of the entrance to the castle, with the sun to his back, glorifying him, is Link, smirking and pointing a mocking finger at Riju.

Riju's hands fist at her side, and she crosses them over her chest. "You'll die, Linky-Link."

He shakes his head. "What if I don't want to?"

"I'll do it for Zelda."

He grins down at his beloved, adoration in his eyes. "She can do it herself."

Zelda grins and Riju looks at her quizzically. She shrugs. "I've gotten to know a few of his… other weaknesses."

Riju smirks. "Fine, it's only fair. But you and I are going at it at some point."

"I'll think about it. Just remember you're dealing with the…" he gulps and doesn't continue.

"King and Hero of Hyrule," Zelda finishes for him.

Link's breath catches. He paraglides off the arch, landing before her and giving her a loving kiss.

"Okay, that's my queue," Riju runs off.

- A few days later -

"To the King!" Glasses clink and celebrator cheers fill the room.

"You lucky bastard," Revali bumps into Link, somehow already drunk on physical wine even though he's a sprit.

Link playfully shoves him, smirking. "You can't talk to me like that. I'm the King."

"Whatever, asshole," Revali… giggles and wraps his wings around Link. Taken aback, it takes Link a few moments to comprehend whats happening before he wraps his arms around him. "I miss you," Revali sniffles.

Link chokes. "I miss you too. at least we can still see each other. And you're always there to lift me up."

Revali wails and Link pats him on the shoulder. "It's ok."

Zelda laughs looking at a smiling Link, practically realising how he's going to tease Revali when he's sober for this.

Soon after they excuse themselves and make their way back to their chambers.

"I'm proud of you, Link," Zelda beams up at him.

He smiles and kisses her on the cheek. "And I am you."

They reach their room and Zelda sighs. "I forgot how hectic it gets around here," she says sliding her shoes off her aching feet and undressing. "It's only been a few days and I already feel like I need a holiday again."

Link chuckles following her into the luxurious, large bath. The water a hot but not scalding temperature. She leans against him, making little whirlpools with her fingers in the water.

"Why don't we go to Hateno after this then," Link suggests, kissing her bare shoulder.

She sighs, settling into the water more. "I'd like that. The place has good memories."

He blushes, making her laugh and slap his thigh. "Oh please."

He only wraps his arms around her and draws her close. "I love you."

"I love you too," she turns around and kisses him. She pulls away, looking deeply into his eyes. "Did you—?"

He nods. "I'm all for this is you are. We can wait, we both wanted to originally."

"You don't want to?"

"It's your choice. We've barely had each other to ourselves though. But I understand."

"No," Zelda shakes her head and turns around, straddling him in the water, "your right. Besides, I'm not going to force you to do anything. I do just want to enjoy you, go on adventures, train together, lie together, make love, everything. At least for another decade, we're both so young."

Link nods in agreement. "Are you getting pressured to? Is that why you asked me to stop taking the tonic?"

She bites her lip. "Now that they know we're married and somehow it's become common knowledge that we've had sex, yeah."

Link's face hardens. "By who? The nobility?"

She nods. "Apparently its tradition for the female royal to be impregnated during the honeymoon."

"Bullshit," Link snarls, shifting her off him and rising, dripping steam from the bath. "I'll handle this."

"Link!" Zelda calls after him, rushing to meet him. He's already clothed, thankfully she grabs him just before the door opens. "This can wait till tomorrow."

"No!" He says sternly, looking at her with fire. "This just isn't ok, Zelda. You know that as well as I do. And I won't have any of it and I know you don't either. I don't know why you've let them get to you but, they have to stop. It's our life, it's our future family. They'll be a part of this kingdom, in the public eye, I won't have us be forced into parenthood."

Zelda straightens and dresses. "I'm coming with you."

Grabbing their swords, the storm out.

"Where are we going?"

"They're at the Higher Table I believe," Zelda says as they throw open the doors.

"Your Majesties, whatever bring you to join us," Lord Devishia sweeps his hands as if he's King.

Link leans on the Master Sword, making it painfully obvious they mean business. "I'm going to ask you to stop harassing us, my wife to bear children. We're simply not ready."

"But it's tradition—"

"Do I look like I give a fuck about tradition?" Link's eyes blaze.

"Excuse me is that any way a King should speak? Zelda what do you have to say for your foul husband."

She looks at him and smiles. "Neither of us give a fuck. Get out, or we'll forcefully remove you. I won't allow myself to be bullied by you and your lies."

"Is that a threat, Princess?"

"I am you Queen and he is your King. If you don't leave we'll forcefully remove you and you will be publicly impeached."

"You wouldn't kill us," the Lord scoffs.

"No. we wouldn't. but we'd make sure we're satisfied. We are not cruel rulers, but ruthless and strict when we have to be. What do you think has allowed me to survive so long in the wild?" Link twirls his sword.

"I preferred it when you didn't talk," Lord Devishia sneers and lunged.

Then Zelda was there, spearing her rapier between the bones of his shoulder and collarbone. He howls dropping to his knees. She calls for guards and moments later they've taken him and the other nobles away.

"I love you so much, thank you." Dropping her sword she pushed Link up against the wall and kissed him relentlessly.

"Take us to Hateno, now," she pants.

Seconds after closing the door behind them to their second door, Zelda is there. He throws the Master Sword out of the way as she pulls his shirt over his head, kissing his face, neck chest, any exposed skin, before moving lower, teasing him with teeth and tongue. She doesn't hesitate to remove him of the last of his clothing until he's naked before her and showing him just how much she appreciates and love him. Until all of Hateno can hear him moaning her name.

Picking her up and wrapping her legs around his waist he carries them upstairs to the bed, on shaky legs that still throb with the aftermath of unconceivable pleasure. He strips her free of her dress and returns the favour before joining them together, a pairing that would last eternity.

- A decade later -

Link can't keep his grin contained as he's tackled to the ground by his two three-year-olds.

"Mummy! Mummy! Daddy got caught!" They squeal leaving him and cashing after her next.

"Oh no!" Zelda proclaims as she softly lies down next to him and they jump onto their laying forms squealing. "This field need to be trimmed you can just see the flowers moving and suddenly they're barrelling into you," she chuckles.

Link tucks a lock of golden blonde hair behind Dala's delicate ear as she lays contently on his chest, her blue eyes like her fathers, twinkling like the ocean on this bright sunny day.

He looks over at her twin brother as he kisses his mother's nose. "Emrey why don't you and Dala go pick some Silent Princess' for Mummy?"

They squeal again and rush off, disappearing together in the field.

"But don't go too far!" Zelda calls after them, sitting up abruptly. "By the Goddess Hylia…" she breathes and then Link has tackled her tickling her sides and kissing her neck and lips. "Your just as bad as them," she giggles breathlessly, hand fisted in his hair.

"No," he smirks capturing her lips with his. "I'm much worse."

*Sigh*

Well, there you have its folks. I think that was a badass and beautiful ending.

It is a relief and I would like to say quite possibly one last time:

Thank you for reading. Love you guys xx
