"I'm hot, sticky sweet from my head to my feet, yeah."
Dorado tried to lean back but the two girls giggled and thrust him forward. He was scared.
For real now.
"You got the peaches, I got the cream, sweet to taste, saccharine!" Cowatch leaned forward and his arm began to burn.
Not like after a good rep session with weights but like a hot poker was pressing into his arm.
"'Cause I'm hot, so hot, sticky sweet," She licked her lips again, looking like she'd laugh in his face as she began the call and response portion with the crowd and her backup.
Could she see the rising panic?!
"From my head, my head to my feet."
And that's when she stopped playing, all attention on him. She cocked her head, suddenly looking confused.
"What're ya doin' here?"
Dorado started babbling, but was stopped when the band members came crashing to a halt, the first singer shouting loudly.
"Oh come oooooooooon!" Cowatch whined, standing, "I was just startin' t'have a good time!"
Dorado stood confused as the crowd was pushed aside by security.
"Hey!" He yelled, crowd loudly talking over each other, "You're a bunch of kids, git out!"
"The house lights went up, revealing the mob of people on the floor, looking around confused and angry at the abrupt end of their fun.
"Out, now!"
The overweight bouncer grabbed Cowatch by her sparkly collar and dragged her from the stage, Dorado in his other paw. Cowatch kicked and whined, Dorado searching the crowd.
He could see Marco and his girlfriend Sloane giggling, beer bottles in hand.
"You two, get yer asses over here!"
The two girls, one in pink plaid and the taller, darker one in matching purple gulped and shuffled behind them.
Dorado's arm burned. It felt like his bicep was melting under his sweatshirt.
"And you!" the bouncer growled, letting go of Cowatch and Dorado, "You too!"
Dorado stood swaying, trying to feel his legs again.
Trying to comprehend what even happened.
He looked up at the empty cages in the rafters and the people standing in the loft.
Marco and Sloane stumbled over.
After a walk of shame, they were tossed out of the Bronze and silently parted ways.
