After a few more movies it's clear that everyone is ready for lunch "Mooom, I'm hungry" Chloe whines from her spot on the floor. "I'm hungry too, let's see what we have in the fridge and pantry that I can whip up quick." Ana says as she gets her phone off the end table, with a couple of taps she can see in the refrigerator and in the pantries. "How about grilled cheese and tomato soup?" She asks and a chorus of mmm's goes off in unison. Ana laughs "I'll take that as a yes then" Ana gets up and heads to the kitchen to start lunch.
"How about we take a break from movies until after lunch, I need to stretch my legs." Teddy groans as he stands up and stretches.
"I totally second that notion!" Phoebe adds getting up off the floor. "How about we play a couple of games?" Teddy suggests.
"You guys play I'm gonna go and talk with Grandpa Jason," Christian says as he gets up, Jason follows. "Hey Dani, would you like to play Just Dance with us?" Phoebe asks. "I'd love too" she says all smiles.

In Christian's office, he pulls a chair from the corner for Jason to sit then Christian sits behind his desk. They sit in silence for a few seconds before Jason speaks "I want to thank you for hearing me out the other day, I know it was a lot to take in and I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you as a child, but I would give literally anything to be a part of your life now." He states his voice cracking and eyes start to water.
"It was really hard to sit there and listen, that man was a monster, to remember what he did to me and what he did to her, to my mother; what he turned her into. He fucked up my way of thinking for the longest time, it's not until I met the love of my life that I thought I was deserving or capable of love, hell I couldn't even say the damn words to her or my parents. I couldn't bare to be touched because of him, he not only marred my body, but he marred my soul. And how can I not think of the what if's, like having a regular childhood filled with happy and good memories and not the terrified, starving little boy he left with his dead mother in an apartment for what felt like forever."
Christian is heaving by the time he ends his tirade. Jason has tears trickling down his cheeks as he looks to his son. He knew what happened to them was bad by his reaction the other day, but he had no idea it was that horrible. Christian collects himself a little before he continues. "We were both wronged and robbed by the same man. I think it's time for some long-overdue justice, what is his last name?" Jason shakes his head in regret and defeat.
"He's dead Christian, has been since the late nineties, I know you want your pound of flesh and I would love for you to have it, but it's not meant to be. I've made my peace with what he did to me, but the hope of finding you kept me going all these years. To let you know I loved you and I still love you son." Jason declares as he silently cries. "I've tried so hard to close the door on my past, to forget the ugly and the hurt but I couldn't quite do it, and now I see why. It's lead me to you, Dani and Hunter, you know that saying for every end there is a new beginning well I've just found my new beginning." Christian walks around the desk and engulfs his father in a tight hug, Jason's tears continue to fall as he hugs his son for the first time in his life.

Several minutes later they reenter the living room to see the girls all dancing to a pop song on the game system. Ana pops her head into the doorway
"Hey everyone, lunch is ready"
"Be there in a sec Mom" Phoebe says a little out of breath while still dancing along. Seconds later the song comes to an end and the girls are a little out of breath.
"If I had this growing up, I would have been so much thinner and in way better shape" Dani jokes as she plops down on the couch tired and winded. Phoebe giggles "To be fair that is one of the hardest and longest songs up there and you definitely held your own, you should be proud. When Mom first did it she gave up half-way through" Dani laughs a little.
"Well I've totally worked up and appetite, let's go eat! Mom's tomato soup is legit to die for" Lindsay says as she helps Dani up and heads toward the kitchen.

After a delicious lunch, Dani and Jason decline the invitation to stay for dinner as they already have dinner plans, afterward they take a break from watching movies and they decide to have a lip-syncing contest which turns into a musical movie marathon. When everyone can barely hold their eyes open Ana and Christian decides to call it a night. The rest of the vacation flies by, filled with Broadway shows, shopping, eating and bonding with the O'Conner's. Promising to come to Seattle for the next school break Dani, Jason, and Amelia all say goodbye to the Greys. The flight back seems much shorter somehow as the children all mope about the plane, back in Seattle everyone gets ready for the upcoming work and school week before calling it an early night in attempt to beat the jet lag.
The morning's regular scheduled pandemonium is in full swing as everyone gets ready to head out. When Ana reaches her floor and steps out of the elevator, she sees a worried and sick looking Hannah. "Ana, I'm so sorry to do this so last minute but I'm not feeling well, and I think I need to go to the hospital"

"Don't be sorry are you okay what's wrong?"
"Nothing I hope but I just want to be on the safe side, I'll keep you posted. Do you want me to find a temp for the rest of the day?"
"You don't worry about that I'll manage; do you want me to call an ambulance?"
"No, I'll have Luke drive me if that's okay with you?" Ana picks up the phone and calls down to the security office. "Good morning this is Terry how may I help you"
"Terry,this is Ana, is Luke near you?"
"Why yes, he is" Terry hands the phone to Luke.
"Sawyer here"
"Luke, Hannah is not feeling well, and she wants you to take her to the hospital"
"I'm bringing the car around front, ask her if she's okay enough to meet me downstairs?"
Ana turns to Hannah, "Are you okay enough to meet him out front?" Hannah nods. "Okay Luke she's coming down now." Hannah grabs her purse and heads for the elevator. Ana calls for Amanda Lopez and informs her of what happened, "So I need someone to cover for Luke for the rest of the day. Oh, and come in the R8, I feel like driving"
"Of course, Ana."

Around three pm she still hasn't heard from Luke nor Hannah and her worry begins to escalate. After rescheduling important calls and meetings, Ana calls it an early day and begins to lock up her office. "Where are you guys, I'm coming" Ana texts to Luke but there is no response. Ana calls Taylor as she walks to the parking garage, Lopez in tow. "Ana, is everything okay?"
"I'm not sure, I mean I'm fine but I'm not sure about Luke and Hannah. When I got in this morning Hannah said she wasn't feeling good and that she wanted to go to the hospital, so Luke took her, and I haven't heard from either of them since. Can you track the car and see where they are please?"
"Not a problem, just give me a minute" The line goes silent for a minute or so and then Taylor comes back. "They are at Virginia Mason Hospital"
"Thank you so much Taylor"
"Just please be safe and drive safely"
"I will, could you please put Christian on, I want to let him know what I'm doing before you get chewed out" Ana says in a joking manner and Taylor chuckles, "I definitely appreciate that, hold on a sec"
The line goes quiet again a moment or two later Christian answers.
"Anastasia, why are you calling me from Taylor's phone and not my cell or office phone?"
"Because I was talking to Taylor and rather than hang up and call you, I had him give the phone to you. Anyways I'm letting you know that I'm on my way to the hospital."
"Why, what's wrong? I'm coming with you"
"Calm down Christian, I'm fine but I'm not sure about Hannah or Luke. I'll fill you in later okay?"
"Fine but keep your phone on and with you for when I call"
"I will Christian, I love you and I'll see you when I get home"
"I love you too" The line goes dead.

Ana hops in the driver seat and Lopez gets in the passengers, she turns on the car, starts the engine and taps the GPS button. "Where to " the car's disembodied voice askes. "Virginia Mason Hospital" a couple of seconds later they are on their way. "Head west on St. James Street toward the I-5 expressway." A half-hour later they reach the hospital after parking Ana heads to the information desk when she hears her name.
"Luke, I tried to call you, but it kept going to voicemail"
"I had no service in that part of the hospital and they've just settled her in her room, so I was…"
"Wait, they're keeping her? What's wrong?"
"We didn't want to say anything until it was safe but Hannah's pregnant"
"I feel there's a but coming"
Luke runs his hands through his hair and settles them on his neck as he lets out a long sigh. "She been deemed extremely high risk being that she's miscarried twice before, so they put her on bed rest, and they are keeping her overnight for now." Ana pulls Luke into a tight hug, "Oh Luke, I'm sure everything will be okay and I'm here for the both of you." Luke hugs her just as tight, "Is she up to having visitors?"
"She's asleep right now, that's why I came down. You're more than welcomed to sit with her until I finish, I have to call her parents." Ana heads up to Hannah's room, once outside her door Ana turns to her security, "Lopez can you give me a minute, please"
"Not a problem Mrs. Grey, I'll be right out here if you need me"
Ana pushes the door and enters. Hannah is lying in bed so very still, the only sounds in the room are the soft whisper of the tv that's on in the corner and the monitors on the wall above her head. Ana bites back the urge to cry as she sees one of her best friends in such a serious situation. Next to the bed, there is a chair which she assumes is when Luke was sitting. She takes a seat, the hard plastic not very comfortable but it doesn't matter all she wants to do is comfort her. Gingerly, Ana reaches for Hannah's hand and lightly grasps it. "Oh Hannah" Ana all but whispers, her tears pooling in her eyes. Hannah's eyes begin to flutter under her lids and then she slowly opens them. "Hey" Ana says blinking back her tears and smiling weakly.
Hanna looks to Ana and bursts into tears. Ana shushes her wrapping both of her hands around Hannah's. "Hannah if there's anything I can do to help let me know."
"Can you get me a new body, one that actually works like normal woman" the comment is flippant and cynical. Hanna takes her free hand and wipes away her tears, "What do you mean by that Hannah?" Ana asks, not letting her know that Luke already filled her in. Hannah looks out of the window; her pause is long and for a second Ana thinks she's not going to answer when Hannah speaks again. "I'll never be able to have a baby; the one thing Luke wants more than anything I can't give it to him. I've failed him as a wife and I've failed myself as a woman." Ana is stunned into silence, Luke mentioned that she was already pregnant just deemed extremely high risk. Hannah beings to speak again, "I'm losing my baby again, I can feel it." There's a knock on the door followed by the door opening, the doctor enters and from the look on her face, I can tell it's baring more bad news.

"Hello, I'm doctor Hunts, do you remember me?" All Hannah can manage is nod. "And you are Ms.?"
"I'm Anastasia Grey"
"Ah, a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Grey. Could you please give Hannah and I a few minutes to talk that would be very much apricated"
"No, I don't want to be alone right now."
"I'll go get Luke" Ana is about to go and get him, when Hannah's hand grips hers. "Please stay Ana, I don't want him hearing this. He's already been through enough" Ana searches Hannah's eyes, she can see that she's hurting and needs another female to lean on in her time of need. With a deep breath in and out Ana nods then directs her attention to the doctor.
"As you wish Mrs. Sawyer, we've looked at your file in detail and decided to run some more detailed tests to see what's going on and found that you have something called Antiphospholipid syndrome. This condition, a part of the immune system called antibodies mistakenly attacks a type of fat, called phospholipids, and associated proteins that line the blood vessels, damaging the vessels.
Women with this condition have an increased risk of recurrent miscarriage, preeclampsia, preterm labor, and stillbirth. We could contact your primary doctor and advise him or her to put you on a medication to help prevent the antibodies from attacking and low-dose aspirin, this may be used during pregnancy in women with your condition. However there maybe side effects such as birth defects along with others, do you understand Mrs. Sawyer?" Ana looks over to Hannah to see she's crying again, Ana looks back at the doctor, "Is there anything I can do to help? Money is no object" The doctor looks taken aback.
"Well if you want my honest opinion, I suggest you find a surrogate or adoption"

Ana knew what she had to do in that moment, not only did one friend need help but two. Luke was just as much as a friend as Hannah was, the doctor is about to speak again but Ana speaks first. "I'll do it!" The doctor and Hannah both look at Ana, "Beg pardon?" the doctor says. "I'll be Hannah's surrogate, that's if she wants to do that."
"You'd really do that for me?" Hannah's voice is rough from her crying and the rawness of all her emotion nearly chokes Ana up.
"Of course I would! It's not only for you but for Luke too" Ana has begun to cry, the tears free flowing down her face. The tears are of joy that she can help her friends, giving them the most precious gift of all, a child. A small piece of both of them that they can love and care for.
"Is this something you want to move forward with Mrs. Sawyer?" The doctor asks looking for Ana to Hannah. "Yes, absolutely yes" Hannah says smiling and squeezing Ana's hand. "Alright then, will get things in motion"
The doctor leaves and Luke enters, "Hey doll, how are you feeling?" He places the pitcher of water he brought in on the table at the end of the bed. "I'm feeling hopefully, thanks to Ana" Ana smiles shyly, "I'll give the two of you some privacy to talk, I'm going to go get me some tea and call Christian. I'll be back in a little while" Ana says as she get up from where she was sitting and heads to the door.

Once outside the room Ana takes a deep breath and exhales, the emotions from the last half hour had taken its toll on her. Rolling her shoulders and starching her neck from side to side she feels some what better. "I'm going to get some tea and I need to call Christian" It's then that she realizes she left her purse in the car with her phone and wallet in it. "Would you mind running to the car and getting my purse please?" Lopez nods then gets up and heads the way they entered. Ana spots the sign for the restrooms and follows it, pushing the door inward she enters the bathroom and goes to the sink. She looks at her slightly puffy face and swollen red eyes, and sighs.
She runs the cold water and wets some paper towels in an attempt to reduce the fact that she had be crying. When she's satisfied with her work she heads back towards Hannah's room, just as she turns the corner, she sees Lopez with a Styrofoam cup and her purse. "Just the way you like it" Lopez says as she passes Ana the cup and her purse. "Thank you so much, I really appreciate it" Ana takes her purse first, fishes out her phone then pulls it on her shoulder. She finds that she has 3 missed call and a text message all from Christian, she opens the text and reads it.

Christian: Ms. Steele you are making my palm twitch so very much. If I do not hear from you within the next half hour your punishment will be sever. The only reason I am not there now is because I know where you are and that you have security with you.
Ana huffs and looks at the time stamp, he sent the message 25 minutes ago, with quick thumbs Ana types out her reply.

Ana: Christian
Christian: Cutting it kinda close Ms. Steele
Ana: We need to talk…
Christian: You're not breaking up with me are you? Lol
Ana: This is serious Christian
Christina: Whatever I did baby, I'm sorry and I can fix it!
Ana: You didn't do anything, this time it was me…
Christian: Ana, you're starting to make me worry
Ana: I don't want to have this conversation over text, we'll talk after dinner over drinks in the library. It might be the last one I have for a while.
Christian: I'm coming now
Ana: Christian I'm fine really, we'll talk later. Please trust me.

Ana waits for a few moments to see if Christian would write back but he doesn't, and she sighs with relief. After slipping her phone back in her purse she takes her tea and taps on the door and heads back into Hannah's room. Luke and Hannah both look to see who enters and smile when they see Ana. Luke gets up and meets Ana, "We appreciate this Ana very much, but what about Christian?"
"Don't worry about him, I'll handle him. I'm going to head home now" Ana looks to Hannah and it's like she's a whole new person. Filled to the brim with hope, the look on her face solidifies that Ana made the right choice.
"I'll see you later Hannah" Hannah smiles and waves her goodbye. "I'll walk you out Ana" Luke says and they make there way to the door. Once outside Luke's expression becomes melancholy; "Ana you really don't have to do this, we can find another surrogate or even adopt. I just don't want this to…" He trails off at a loss for words. Ana is taken aback, "Do you not want me to be your surrogate?"
"It's not that I don't want you too, I couldn't think of a better person. You're like my little sister Ana, I just don't want to put the media in a frenzy. You can handle the limelight, but Hannah and her parents aren't accustomed to that." Ana hadn't thought about that, but she stood behind her decision.
"Luke, I stand behind my offer to be Hannah's surrogate. We can work around the media and if it does get out, we can handle it accordingly, but I do understand your concerns and if you want to get another I will help in any way that I can." Luke looks at Ana then hugs her tight, "Thank you again, Hannah, her parents and I will talk more and let you know what we decide."
"Okay" Ana replies, Luke lets her go and heads back in the room. "Lopez can you drive please, I feel exhausted"
"Sure thing Ana" They head back to the car and Ana hands the keys to Lopez. The ride to Grey Manor is quite and Ana is thankful for that, it gives her some time to work out her mixed emotions about this afternoon's event. Her offering to be Hannah's surrogate and then the possibility of not. Before she knows it they are at the house. Ana gets out and heads to their bedroom to change into comfy clothes. The house is relatively quite since the kids are still at school, so Ana decides to go upstairs to the library to get some work done from home.
