AU: Sorry it took me awhile to update I was busy this weekend with it being Memorial day and everything. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Thank you for all the reviews and views!
Padme was focused as they went over the plan, even as Anakin kept making eye at her reminding her of their night and morning. She tried ignoring him. She needed to focus for this was going to be there only chance to finally defeat that monster.
"Okay just to make sure everyone understands their role. Anakin, you will take Padme into the palace and to the Emperor. " Leia told them.
"I'm going to try to stop him from sensing my presence, but he will probably detect it right away." Anakin said.
"That is why, if we don't hear back from you. We will alert Mon and a full scale attack will be happen." Leia frowned.
They were both hoping it didn't have to lead to that. They have already lost, so many people.
"I've already spoke with Mon and they are ready for our response, rather it be good or bad." Padme said.
"Very well. Then you guys better leave soon." Leia said and Padme could see the worry in her eyes. She knew he daughter well enough to know what was bothering her.
As everyone walked away grabbing their things they would need, Padme walked over to Leia. "Don't be afraid." She told her.
"I'm not. I just wish I was going with you all. I don't think I will be able to stay and sit patiently." Leia said.
"I know, trust me I know. I waited around in this apartment many times, not knowing what was happening, but you must. If this plan doesn't work out, you need to be the one to stop Palpatine. You will be the only Jedi left." Padme told her.
"If they can't do it, there is no way I can. I'm not as powerful and strong as Luke or Anakin." Leia said stumbling over Anakin's name.
"Never doubt yourself. So many people told me I was soo young or not strong enough and I proved them all wrong. You need to have faith in your abilities." Padme said smiling at her daughter.
Leia hugged her tightly. "Please make it back alive. I need my mother."
Padme was so thrown off guard by the hug and the comment, she didn't know what to say. "I love you, Leia. Don't forget that no matter what happens."
"Are you ready?" Anakin said walking over to her, dressed in this bounty hunter outfit.
"I think so. Is Luke?" Padme said as he stepped forward. "Good, then let's get this over with."
Padme and Anakin loaded in the speeder as Luke said a final goodbye to Leia and Han. Padme looked over at Anakin and noticed he put on a bounty hunter mask. She froze for a second thinking back to the Vader mask he used to wear. She had to tell herself. This is was Anakin. This was her Anakin and no one was going to take him from her again.
Everyday she noticed him changing. He still had anger inside of him and pain, but he was learning with live with all his past mistakes. He was slowly starting to forgive himself, just as she forgave him. Just as their kids where learning to forgive him.
"Here we should get these on your now, incase he is watching when we land." Anakin said holding out hand cuffs. "If something goes wrong, just hit this little button and they should release."
"I think I know my way around hand cuffs." She smirked at him.
Anakin chuckled and smirked, but she noticed something was off. "I suppose you do."
"Ani, what is it?" Padme asked a he put the hand cuffs on her.
"I'm just afraid, he's gonna win again. I finally have my life back and he can take it away just as easily." Anakin said surprising Padme. Going into battle was one thing Anakin was never truly afraid of. She figured this was the first battle, he actually had something to loose. Usually it was only his life or the life of the clones he had to worry about, now he had to worry about all of them.
"You are stronger now than the last time you fought him. You aren't stuck in that awful suit." Padme said to him.
"And this time we will do it together." Luke said joining them.
"I just need you both to promise me. If things start to go down hill, Luke leave with your mother. Even if it means leaving without me and me dying, I need you both to promise me." Anakin said.
Padme looked over at Luke and saw they both looked uneasy about Anakin's request.
"I'm not sure how this is going to play out and if something happens, I won't be able to live with myself." Anakin said.
"Alright, father." Luke said.
Padme wasn't sure what to say. She wanted to say yes, but she wasn't sure if she would be able to leave him. She looked up and noticed he was looking at her, waiting for an answer. She nodded her head hoping that answer was good for him.
Anakin roughly took Luke and Padme out the of the speeder and towards the guards. He reminded himself to make sure to apologize to them when this was all over, but he had to make this look right. One wrong move and the whole plan could be ruined.
He walked them over the guards with a blaster pointed at there backs. "I have two of the bounty's the Emperor requested. As you can see they are clearly still alive." He told the Imperial Troopers. For the first time, he was grateful that the suit changed his voice, so these Imperial Troopers wouldn't reconize it was him.
He watched as the Imperial Troopers hesitated. He thought maybe he did something wrong and they figure out he used to be Vader.
"Very good. He has been waiting for them." The one Imperial Troopers said as the other hit the button to open the large doors.
Both the troops lead them inside and he could feel the shock in Padme at how much this place has changed. He tried not looking around for every time he did a memory of that awful night would come back to him.
They all walked ahead until they were greeted by a man. He looked closer before realizing it was Commander Jerjerrod, who was clearly promoted, since the last he saw him. He was angered to see he managed to make it off the Death Star alive.
He watched the smug grin come across his face, as he stepped closer to Padme and Luke. He watched as his eyes looked Padme up and down and it took everything in him not to punch the guy right here right now.
"The Emperor will be quite happy to see both of you here. Hopefully he doesn't managed to damage you too much." Jerjerrod said brushing his hand across Padme's cheek.
I'll be damned if he even gets to lay a finger on Padme.
Anakin had to clench his fist, hating he was forced to watch this and wished he tried harder to stop Padme from doing this.
"You may leave now. I can handle this from here." Jerjerrod said surprising all three of them.
"What about my payment? You don't know what I had to do to get these two." He growled.
"And you will be paid." Jerjerrod looked over at the Imperial Troopers. "You two take our guest aside so he can receive his payment." He said with a smile.
Anakin looked as Padme looked over at him. This was not part of the plan. He had to think of something fast, but couldn't think of anything. He watched as Jerjerrod lead Padme and Luke down the hall. Even thought this wasn't planned,he knew his way around this palace. He just had to get rid of the Imperial Troopers and then he would make his way over to the thrown room. He tried using the force to let Luke know to be calm and patient, that he had a plan.
He walked with the Imperial Troopers, knowing they had no plans of paying him, that they were going to kill him or so they thought.
"Just step right in here and we will grab your payment." The Imperial Troopers said jokingly.
As Anakin stepped into, he sensed them lifting there blasters. Before they even had a chance to pull the trigger, Anakin spun around with his lightsaber ignited and slashed the heads off of both the troopers.
He stepped out and shut the door, knowing if they were found there would many more he would have to deal with. He looked around knowing, he didn't have that much time left. He had to find his family and end this once and for all.
