A.N. Hey everyone! It's been a while since I posted, I'm kinda stalling because I've made absolutely no progress on FindingXAyami in the last few weeks. I'm a little over half way through the Greed Island Arc but I've been obsessed with my TVD/Originals fanfic. It's definitely one of my favorites and I've written almost two seasons of it so far, but I'm trying not to post it until I finish FindingXAyami so I don't abandon it. I'm trying to make myself write a chapter a week until I get my inspiration back, but since I'm forcing it I'm not loving how it turned out, so I'm redoing them. Anyway, thank you for the reviews and favorites, they inspire me to write more! Enjoy!

Chapter Twenty Eight

Eventually Chrollo found his way to a large empty room, where he awaited the enemies he knew were coming. Soon they entered, Silva and Zeno Zoldyck. The three men assessed each other for a moment before Chrollo spoke.

"We meet again." He addressed Silva.

"You remember me?" Silva asked.

"How could I forget? You killed one of my people."

"It wasn't easy." Silva complemented.

"Tell me, how is Ayami?" Zeno asked suddenly. Chrollos eyes narrowed slightly. "She did find her way back to you, didn't she?"

"She did, although she's with your son right now." Chrollo said, smirking when Silva's right eye twitched.

"She and my son are very close, we are considering her for Killua or Kalluto." Silva commented.

"My daughter will decide her own fate." Chrollo said firmly. Silva nodded and he and his father started walking forward.

"Be careful, Dad. He can steal people's abilities." Silva warned. Chrollo jumped down from his stage and started forward as well. Soon enough, the battle was on. Chrollo struggled with the two of them but managed to hold his own. He used a conjured cloak to block and dodge Zenos dragon strike. Eventually he was pinned by Zeno and Silva sent two giant orbs of energy his way. The attacks landed, shattering the wall and covering both himself and Zeno in rubble. Their fight was interrupted when Silva's phone rang.

"Illumi, is that you?" Silva asked.

"Yeah, where's my client?" His oldest asked.

"He's here." Silva said as Zeno and Chrollo sat up, pushing the rubble off of them.

"Oh, were you two just fighting? Is he alive?" Illumi asked.

"Yeah." Silva answered.

"Just in the nick of time. Good. Give him a message for me. We killed the Ten Dons. Tell him to wire the money to the account. He knows which one." Silva relayed the message and hung up as Zeno got to his feet.

"Up we go. Well, that was a surprise, it seems we both get to live another day." Zeno said to Chrollo.

"But what about your mission?" Chrollo asked.

"The Ten Dons are our clients. Now that they've been disposed of, things have changed. You are no longer our target." Zeno explained.

"I see." Chrollo said as he got to his feet and brushed himself off. "You won't get another chance like this." He warned.

"Perhaps. But you don't really think we're in this business for the fun of it, do you? It's not like we take pleasure in it, and I certainly don't want to work or die for nothing."

"I was the one who commissioned Illumi to kill the Ten Dons, did you know that?"

"Of course I did." Zeno scoffed. "But that is irrelevant. We do the job we're hired to do and nothing more."

"I understand." Chrollo nodded. "So, can I ask you something?" Zeno hummed, looking back at him. "If we were to fight, just the two of us, which of us would win?"

"I would. There's no question about it." Zeno said with a smirk. "Though it would be a different story altogether were you actually trying to kill me." He admitted. "Insolent brat." He muttered, walking away. Silva watched Chrollo warilly as he followed his father out of the room. When he was alone, Chrollo threw himself backward tiredly, landing in a pile of rubble.

"I'm beat." He grumbled to himself. Soon enough his Troupe found him and they continued with their plan. Kurotopi left seven fake bodies of the Troupe for the mafia to find and they headed for the auction. They killed the guard as Shalnark took control of the auctioneer and Pakunoda presented the items to the crowd. Kurotopi made a double of each item while the Troupe took the real ones and sold the fakes. Soon enough they finished and Chrollo left to retrieve his daughter.

"Hey Dad! Is it time to go?" Ayami asked when he arrived.

"Not yet, Ayami. I need to speak with your friends for a moment." Chrollo said, walking in with Phinks and Feitan in tow.

"What is it, Mr. Chrollo?" Gon asked curiously.

"I understand you're friends of Kurapika." Both boys nodded. "I'm sure you understand the danger his mission puts him in."

"We do."

"We've forgiven his last attempt to carry out his mission at Ayamis request, but we will not be so kind the second time. We've given him an out, he will believe that we are dead. It is imperative that the two of you play along. The spiders will be gone by the end of the week and he can move on with his life, no harm done." Chrollo warned.

"We understand, Mr, Chrollo. We won't tell." Gon agreed, but Killua's eyes narrowed.

"When you say you're leaving-"

"Ayami will be coming with us, of course." Chrollo interrupted, knowing where this was going.

"What? But you can't take Ayami away, she's going to travel with us and help me find my dad!" Gon protested.

"Ayami is my daughter and she will be coming with me. You are welcome to join us, and I'm sure we can help you find your father, but Ayami is staying with me."

"But we were gonna go to Greed Island! Tell him Ayami!" Gon begged. Ayami looked between her father and friends, torn. Chrollo placed a hand on her shoulder and shook his head.

"Ayami will be in danger if she stays here. This is not negotiable. It's time to go Ayami, tell your friends goodbye." Chrollo said firmly. Ayami stood and hugged both boys, promising she'd figure something out, before leaving with her father. She followed him back to the Troupes headquarters and met up with the spiders, spending the night celebrating their success.
