Chapter 27th
"No, don't! Call NCIS and no one else Loreile, plus call Doctor Talf to have him check me out." He had grabbed her arm to stop her from calling 911. "Please!" He begged with Lt. Baskins not believing the situation. She looked down at the body bending down further to check his pockets for anything that might help.
"Alright I will call NCIS to get here quick along with advising Fornell that his own man tried to kill you. Come on let's get you onto the couch for now, just try and take it easy Jethro." She was excited with her heart racing for the moment. She dialed NCIS with Special Agent Mcgee picking up with the number connecting to him. "Mcgee, it's Lt. Baskins. I am in of need your team to head to Gibbs house I just shot killed another shooter. It's one of Fornell's men waiting outside watching him no doubt."
"Ok, Lt. Baskins I will advise the entire team and including Doctor Palmer no doubt still working on the autopsies. How's Gibbs?" He asked with concern for his boss and friend.
"Not good Tim. I will be calling Doctor Talf since he no doubt doesn't want to go to the hospital once again. I will be watching over him until everyone gets here. And by the way I didn't sneak out this time. I had permission to leave the safehouse. Look...I need to call the doctor now. See you soon..."
After hanging up to dial the doctor's number that she has in her recent contacts. The connection went through with Doctor Talf picking up right away. He had the feeling seeing her number that something had happened. "What happened Lt. Baskins?" He said from his living room couch with only getting home an hour ago trying to sleep.
"Gibbs has been attacked once again doctor at his house just after you left. Did you happen to notice that there was F.B.I. agents watching him? She asked with anger in her overall demeanor.
"Actually I did Loreile thinking that Fornell might of set it up with sending another team to watch his house. How is this actually happening?" Doc said with looking at the time.
"Don't know Doctor Taft. He's been hit in the stomach, head and his right thigh and knee to cause damage. He's sweating, his heart is racing a mile a minute along with his blood pressure, and he doesn't want to go to the hospital."
"I understand. I will be sure to bring enough supplies to help with the bleeding. However I just hope that he doesn't have any type of internal bleeding. I will know for sure when I examine him. Give me thirty minutes and I will be there. Just be sure to keep him covered from going into possible shock."
"I understand Doctor Taft." She hung up the phone to cover him up further with the blankets. "He's coming Jethro. Doctor Taft will be here really soon to check you out. What a crazy fool you're once again?" Commented towards him looking at her with a smirk on his face.
"Me!" Excited. "I am the one everyone is trying to kill me. I wouldn't be surprise that you would try it as well." Angered with Loreile turned to face him with evil eyes knowing full well he wasn't in his right mind currently with all of the injuries and pain he was suffering with. She was able to overlook it right now.
"I will by past the comment Special Agent Gibbs since NCIS is now here to talk with us and bring the body back to the Naval Yards." Mcgee, Torres and Bishop followed inside Gibbs house with Palmer and his assistant following.
"Whoa Man! What the hell actually happened? The bodies are racking up Gibbs. How did you know he was after you?" Torres said with Bishop coming over to check on Gibbs trying to sit up with Loreile and Bishop's help.
"The bodies might be racking up Nick, at least I am still alive to so far beat the odds." He said grunting in pain wrecking his body right now. "However Doctor Taft will be soon to piece me back together."
Doctor Palmer came in inside with pushing the door open further in order to place the stretcher with placing the body on and taking him to the van. "By the way there is a Sergeant Houseman needing to come inside to speak with someone about the neighbor's complaint about hearing shots fired." He said with the Sergeant walking in to survey the scene of NCIS agents.
"I am the senior field agent Timothy Mcgee of NCIS, I am in charge having been called by my boss Special Agent Supervisory agent of the team Leroy Jethro Gibbs. He called us after being attack by the man outside. A full report will be sent to your supervisor of the Alexandra police department." Mcgee said with authority in his voice.
"I know Agent Gibbs, I have been here a number of times the past few years playing cards and talking downstairs in his basement. I will come back another time once he is feeling better to discuss what has happened." He said on a evenkeel with his voice while watching the doctor work on his patient. "I must go now Agent Mcgee." He walked away to give one final look before moving outside and with seeing the body placed into the Coroner's van.
"Wow! That was close guys. Who exactly was that shooter?" Torres had to asked with moving closer to watch the doctor fix Gibbs bandage on his head.
"He works for the ex Secnav Wynn Crawford and other key officials involved in the operation." Gibbs said in a low voice on the couch. "I do know that The Calling has been mention as well with someone knew taking over as the leader while trying to find Luke Harris to join."
"No matter how you see it, who ever is left will not stop at the killing. But right now no doubt we won't be able to follow the trail going cold knowing that every organization will be looking for them." Mcgee said in a tone that no one really was believing him.
