I don't own any characters in the Percy Jackson universe which is rightfully owned by Rick Riodan. However, the Greek gods and/or other mythological figures are used in my imagination and well you can't claim copyright on history.

Chapter 32

The entire chapter is based on Percy.

I was training with Artemis and Annabeth when suddenly I was pulled to Central Park. Like one moment I was standing alongside Annabeth, practicing archery while Artemis looked over us and the next I was standing in the middle of the park. I heard a groaning sound then curses. I recognized that… peculiar voice and the way she threw curse words.

"Thalia? Didn't Artemis send you to find her golden reindeer or something like that?"

"And aren't you supposed to be practicing archery with your girlfriend? Or rather, girlfriends."

Luckily, Thalia had been surprisingly okay with the fact that I was currently in a relationship with not one but two of the closest people she knew. Artemis thought hat she needed to tell her because she was her lieutenant and naturally was most friendly her compared to the other hunters. We both heard another grunt and cursing. We both ran to the source of the voice to find Nico lying on the floor.

"What the fuck. One minute I'm doing some research on the titan army and the next I'm here. Why are you two here?"

Thalia and I glance at each other. Similar stories. We told him what happened and what we were doing before we appeared here as well.

"This is so strange. The three of us are the children of the big three as well." I pointed out.

"Do you think this is the work of Kronos?" Thalia asks scared.

"No, heroes. I brought you here, not Kronos." A feminine voice said behind us.

"Persephone," Nico growls.

"That is no way to be talking to your stepmother, Nico."

"You're about as much as a mother to me as Bill Cosby is a genuine lover." He responds.

I couldn't help but laugh at that comment. Thalia hears me and grumbles about stupid boys.

"Enough of that. I brought you three here because there is an emergency lockdown in the underworld." She told us with a serious expression.

"What? Why wasn't I told about this?" Nico exclaims.

"Well, you know now. Hades is making a sword for the upcoming war and in the blade holds a key. This key has the ability to raise anything or anyone from anywhere inside the underworld. This does include Tartarus." She lets that sink in.

"Okay, that's cool. What does that have to do with us?" I asked.

"That is not cool. This tips the balance of power towards the favor of Hades. This isn't acceptable." Thalia retorts.

"That's not fair. With all due respect, Hades got the weakest weapon out of the big three. Your dad has a lightning bolt that makes any nuclear bomb look like a baby's toy, my dad has a trident that controls all water, makes earthquakes, and could flip landmasses like my mom flips pancakes. Hades has a skull cap that makes him invisible and radiates fear. Everyone has those abilities at this point. You, Athena, Grover, several monsters, and some gods have that power. Invisibility isn't all that either. Besides that, he has a bident. That sounds lame. Like in battle 'Hey, look Hades is coming with a bident' doesn't really strike fear in my heart. Believe it or not, I support this." I argued.

Thalia grits her teeth but couldn't come up with a valid argument.

"Thak you, Percy. I see my husband has done well to choose you as his champion. However, the problem is someone has stolen the blade. It isn't finished but the key is already set into the blade and there is suspicion that the person who stole the blade is in the titan army."

"So why are we standing around here?" Nico asks bitterly.

She holds out a flower and hands it to us.

"Once that flowers petals fall that means you were unable to stop the person. The flower will point you in the direction of the culprit. I'll do you the favor and get you in the underworld."

The world spins and I was suddenly standing on the cold floor of the underworld.

"Ugh, I hate that stupid bitch." Nico groans out.

"Let's just get this over with," Thalia growls.

We followed the carnation into the fields of asphodel. We walked on when suddenly the flower dipped towards the left. I groaned as I glanced off to the left to find the field of punishment.

"Guys, good news or bad news?"

"Probably bad first," Nico responds.

"Alright then, the flower points toward eternal punishment. The good news is we are getting closer."

"The day just keeps getting better and better," Thalia grumbles.

We made our way over and the flower tilts slightly like a compass does when finding north. A petal falls off which we notice and quicken our pace. As we pass by a dude with a boulder the flower dips back towards him. We ran back but the flower once again dips the opposite direction again.

"That's weird the flower seems to be pointing at a specific location. Towards that dude over there."

"Sisyphus. The dude that knocked out Thanatos and stopped death at its tracks. Eventually, he was killed and then he tricked my dad into releasing him. His punishment is to roll a boulder for eternity." Nico explains.

It made me feel sore just watching him roll that huge round boulder up the steep hill.

"Hey, Sissy. We to talk to you regarding a demigod who stole a blake blade!" Thalia yells.

He grunts and turns losing focus and thus losing balance. The boulder rolls back down and rolls over his body to stop at the foot of the hill.

"I was almost at the top. Is it not enough you make me roll this boulder in the first place but now you must make a mockery of me?" He shouts in anger.

"Uh, what?"

"I know you three are the furies in disguise. Don't worry about me, I'm doing what I should be. It's not like there's anything else I could do." He presses on.

"No, we aren't the furies. We just wanted to ask a few questions about someone who possibly ran by you."

"Well, I can't answer. I'm a busy man with a busy job of rolling this thing up the hill so if you'll excuse me." He brushes past us.

"What if we offer to do it for you?" I asked.

I glanced at Thalia and she stares right back at me. After some internal conversation, she finally relents and walks over and pushes the boulder.

"Now we're talking. Sweet freedom. So what can I answer for you?"

"We want to know if an Asian kid with an eyepatch and holding a black sword ran past you," Nico tells him.

"Actually, yes. He asked for an escape route and he rolled my boulder for me while I drew one for him."

"Which way did he go?" I pressed on.

"Out of here and towards the pit of Tartarus."

"Alright, thanks."

We got up to leave but Sisyphus starts laughing.

"You just freed me of my burden and you think I'll just stand around? I'm going to wreak havoc here. Thanks, losers!"

He starts running but I react quickly and summon a chunk of gold and he trips over the gold chunk.

"What the. Ooh, gold."

He gets up and tries to pick it up when suddenly a rumbling is heard and when I turn the boulder was rolling back down. This time it doesn't stop at the foot of the hill, rather rolls on top of Sisyphus.

"Shit, I thought I could roll it to the top." Thalia grunts while joining us. "Why don't we leave this dude here?"

We nod and walk off, Sisyphus wailing that he was sorry and asking us for help. We made it to the border and I saw Daedalus building a bridge around the edge of the judgment feild and punishment field.

"Hey, Daedalus!"

He turns and spots me, dropping his stuff and rushes over.

"Percy! Hows are you? How's Mrs. O'Leary?"

"I'm good and she's fine. Building bridges I see."

"Yep, Lord Hades saw fit that I helped with the traffic in here rather than punish me. I owe him a lot. He even allows me to have breaks on weekends to spend with my son and nephew."

He turns and faces the others.

"Hello, Nico. Thalia."

They nod their heads.

"Well, step on the bridge. It'll support you even though it's not quite finished."

The four of us walk across and I couldn't help but stop and admire the bridge. The craftsmanship was perfect and beautiful. We eventually reach the end.

"Well, unfortunately, this is where we must part ways. Take good care of my dog and give Annabeth my regards." He told me as he embraces me one last time.

We follow the direction that the carnation points in and made our way to the river Lethe.

"Careful. You guys probably know this but even a drop of water will wipe your short term memory." Nico warns.

Suddenly, we hear hissing. We look around and spot a group of demons slowly approaching us.

"We are called Aericos. We are the embodiment of disease and I'm afraid we can't let you pass. Kronos's orders." One hisses at us.

They charged in a rather quick and confusing manner. They weren't strong but even a scratch can be horrible. We made quick work and we let our guard down as we cut don the last one. Suddenly, a sharp pain stabs my shoulder. An arrow appears in the head of the demon and it disintegrates.

"Don't worry, I'm fine." Were my last words as I passed out.

End of chapter 32. As always thanks for reading and review to let me know how I'm doing. Peace!
