(Two weeks later)
"When we are in school, you won't interact with me unless you want me to show you around or you need me to explain some rules!"
Naruto slung her school bag over her shoulders and focused her eyes on the three teens before her. For the past two weeks, all three teens had been following her training without much complaints and if Ino did complain, Shikamaru and Choji would stop her. It was odd but she would admit it had been helpful.
She took a deep breath and tucked a single hand inside her skirt pocket as Ino eyed their skirts with distaste. Naruto could not blame her. While she had no love for fashion, she would admit that the skirt was not at all pretty. If her childhood classmate complained about it then the blonde would understand. She would be annoyed but there would be some understanding to her dislike.
Shikamaru and Choji exchanged glances before looking at her and Ino. They took a step forward, almost as if they wanted to stop Ino from voicing out her complaints and the whiskered girl shook her head. This time I won't be irritated if she complains. This was normal. On the first day of primary school in this part of the world, she disobeyed the rules and wore her own outfit.
Detention had been the result and Naruto did wish someone explain to her why she had to wear uniforms.
"Do we really have to wear these ugly uniforms?" Ino asked. Her light blue eyes flickered between their uniforms before going to the uniforms of the boys. A scowl decorated her childhood classmate's lips. "Can't we just enter the school with the outfits that we brought in our time here?"
Both Shikamaru and Choji groaned at the question coming out of their teammate's lips while Naruto regarded her. It was understandable. She did not know why she kept repeating that line to herself but maybe it was because Ino was being reasonable this time. The whiskered girl inhaled. There had to be a good way for her to explain this.
A way that would make Ino see that she had no choice but to wear the school uniform during her time in school. I can't tell her that if you disobey the rules to the extent that you want to go then the Disciplinary Committee will try and beat you up. That little piece of information was not going to convince Ino.
"Unless you want to be called out by the teachers or have people calling you names, you will wear it."
The blonde raised a single eyebrow when Ino tilted her head at her. Was the girl actually considering it? Judging from the way Ino slumped her shoulders and shook her head, the girl weighed out her options and decided to be reasonable. That was good. There was going to be no headache coming from her.
I could tell her that it is okay for her to accessorize. It was tempting but then it would mean that she was being helpful and the blonde did not want to trouble herself with Ino. Even though the girl was now coming around to accepting her words, Naruto still saw no reason for her to tell the girl anything.
"I don't understand why there has to be uniforms," Ino grumbled with a large scowl on her face. I ask myself the same question every day. A sigh escaped from her lips and Naruto tucked another strand against her ear. "No one can look cute in this outfit."
Is this the time to worry about whether or not you look cute? She bit her tongue from spilling the question out loud. It was a pointless question. If this had been someone like Hinata then Naruto would see some point of asking the question. But Ino had always been the type of girl who cared about appearances.
Naruto did not like the uniforms because of the fact it made possible for people to peek on her underwear whenever she fought. It is a good thing Hibari is focused when he fights. She bobbed her head. It would have been embarrassing if her ally had seen some of the underwear that she chose to wear.
"I know the answer to this troublesome question but are you really going to focus on how you look while we are in Naruto's school?" Shikamaru asked Ino. Tiredness and exasperation colored his tone while Choji only shook his head at the platinum blond-haired girl. The Yamanaka heiress just looked at the boy like he was being stupid for asking such an obvious question.
He probably was an idiot to ask the question but Ino was being ridiculous for caring how she looked in the school uniform. She will still find some boys who are still attracted to her. If Hibari liked her in the school uniform then Ino could definitely find someone to fawn over her in the terrible school uniform.
"There might be some good-looking guys in her school," Ino declared with a huff. Shikamaru and Choji groaned at the response while Naruto shrugged. This was the expected answer that she expected from her childhood classmate. But it did also make her tilt her head to the side. It was odd for her to hear her classmate give this answer.
It had always been Sasuke on her mind and for Ino to declare that she was looking for some eye candy made Naruto pause. Does it take Sasuke leaving the village for her to realize that she should look elsewhere for love? She wrinkled her nose at the thought. All those times the boy ignored her was not enough for her to give up on him.
Dear god, she did not understand girls.
"While I'm glad that you have given up on Sasuke, we need to talk about another topic," Naruto announced. All three teens blinked and the blonde dug out her key. They raised their eyebrows at her and the blonde only twirled her keychain around her finger. "Your fighting abilities have to be downplayed."
All three members of Team Ten gawked at her and Naruto shrugged her shoulders. I have to talk about it since they might run into the Disciplinary Committee. She could only imagine what would happen when the three of them got into trouble with the Disciplinary Committee and she knew they were going to get into trouble. The three of them did not have a clear idea of the rules in this town.
I should tell them about the Yakuza and the Mafia but they haven't asked me about it. She sighed and rubbed the back of her neck before looking at her childhood classmates. All three of them kept looking at her as if they were waiting for her to continue talking, and dimly she realized the fact that they were indeed waiting for her to finish explaining everything.
"They are civilians which means most of them can't handle our punches," Naruto explained, exhaling. She tucked a strand of her hair against her ear as her blue eyes looked out to the window. Only Hibari can handle my lighter punches and even then he cracks his ribs. A grimace played on her lips. "They also have no idea of chakra, so any ninjutsu is out of the question."
The three of them nodded, not looking surprised by her comment. They have been here for the last two weeks so they have figured it out by now. A sigh escaped from her lips and the blonde debated about whether to include some limitations in their taijutsu. She inhaled and nodded. It would be a good idea for her to talk about it.
"You will also lower your speed to the point that the delinquents can see you coming," she added. Everyone raised their eyebrows at her advise and Naruto thinned her lips. Even though she knew Hibari could see things, she held back on her speed at times. It is when I think he is improving, I increase the speed a little bit more. It would probably irritate him if he knew but Naruto did not want to send him to the hospital for a whole two months.
Kusakabe would throttle her or make her do the paperwork Hibari would miss.
"Why would we fight delinquents?" Choji asked. His eyes flashed with curiosity and Naruto bit her lips. Should she talk about it the Disciplinary Committee? They were going to find out about them eventually. But there was also the fact she gained nothing if she told them. When she entered Middle School, no one told her anything about the Disciplinary Committee.
Should she be a good person and just tell them? Or should she be a terrible person and keep quiet? If they mention my name to any of the Disciplinary Committee then Hibari will question me about not making that aspect clear. It would be a headache if you asked her. But they would find out eventually and maybe she should keep quiet.
This was probably the most difficult decision for her to make.
"Let me just say that delinquents run that school," Naruto finally answered. Both Shikamaru and Choji glanced at each other before looking at her with knitted eyebrows. Ino looked at her with disbelief and the blonde shrugged. This was the best answer that she could give them. In the eyes of everyone in Namimori Middle School, the disciplinary committee was filled with delinquents.
The outfits worn by the members of the Disciplinary Committee alongside their hairstyles did give off the impression that they were delinquents. It does not help they solve everything with violence. She grimaced and shook her head. They were only following orders given by Hibari but Naruto did wish the boy could think of a better way of controlling people.
"Are you one of those delinquents?" Ino asked.
Naruto shook her head while Shikamaru and Choji exchanged glances with each other. Did they not believe her? Well that was understandable. She had been a delinquent in the Academy, so it would make sense for the three of them to believe that aspect of her life was still the same. It did not even irritate her because she would make the same conclusion as them.
But she was not the same girl anymore and it took a lot for her to unleash her anger now.
"You should check your names over on that board over there to see which class you are in!"
Naruto ran her hand through her hair as her eyes focused on the crowds of students who surrounded the announcement board, before flickering her eyes to the members of Team 10. All three of them nodded. Understanding shone through their eyes as they realized the reason for the crowding to the boards.
She waited for the three of them to leave her before following behind them. Several eyes locked onto her and for the briefest moment, Naruto wondered if Kusakabe gossiped to one of the members of the Disciplinary Committee. It would be impossible. The boy knew better than to spill his boss relationship with her.
Shaking her head, Naruto locked eyes on the announcement board for the second years. Class 2A. That was where her name was placed and a quick scan of the board told her that her classmates were nearly the same from the year. Only difference now is that I have Shikamaru, Choji, Ino…and Longchamp? Her eyebrows twitched when she saw the decoration on the last name.
Who the hell is he to put that many decoration on his name? She chewed her tongue and took several deep breaths. Not her business. As long as this Naito guy did not come for her, there was no need for her to cause a fuss. But it was ridiculous. It was like he was acting like he was the most special guy in the world and unless he was going to be the head of a strong family like Sawada then it was pointless.
Hell even Reborn would never do this to Tsuna.
"Uzumaki-san! We are in the same class!" A squeaky voice yelled out. The blonde clicked her heels around and raised a single eyebrow when she caught sight of Tsuna walking up to her. His brown eyes flashed with relief and the blonde poked her tongue against her cheek. Even though it had been months since the incident with Mukuro, he was still the same boy from before.
She thought that by now he would have gained confidence when they were alone, but he was still the same boy. Some things would never change with him. It still irritated her but Naruto guessed there was still time for her to break him out of his habits. Maybe she should just spend more time with him or milk more money out of him.
The latter was preferable for her but it was only improving Tsuna by a little bit.
"I realize that," Naruto pointed out. The brown-haired teen did not flinch at her dry tone, only letting out a nervous laugh and the smile on his lips widened. He is still happy that I'm in the same class as him. It was odd but she guessed she did not mind his happiness. They were allies when needed and he was basically one of her main sources of money.
The boy flickered his eyes at the flowery description decorating their classmate's name before looking at the three names on the board. He will probably wonder why those three are here. The thought made her grimace. Tsuna was not the type to probe but his tutor was a whole different story if you asked her.
Reborn was probably going to do research on all three members of Team Ten but he was never going to find out anything. If he wants information, he has to pay me big bucks to spill the information or give me something in exchange. The thought made her lips twitched and Naruto looked out to the trees.
"Do you know who is Longchamp Naito?" Tsuna asked. Yes and no. That was the automatic answer which came to her mind. Longchamp Naito was on the board so she did know of him. But his personal information was of no importance to her. If he was not interesting to her then there was just no need for to look for information about the boy.
But I can already tell that he is probably have a big head. Her head already throbbed at the thought of dealing with a guy like Naito. It was probably bad enough she had Ino in the class but Ino was going to ignore her. Even though her childhood classmate was vain and a bitch, the girl would not choose to stir up shit if she saw she had no connection to her new boy interest.
But that was not the point.
"He sounds familiar," Naruto finally answered. Tsuna blinked and she guessed he was shock because she answered the question so willingly. There was a reason she was not going to demand money from him. If she had no information then it would just be swindling money out of him for no reason. She would be the only one to benefit from it.
After what happened with Mukuro, it seemed unfair in her mind.
"Troublesome woman, I know you made rules but do you know where is class 2A?" Shikamaru called out to her. Everything is troublesome to him. Her lips twitched and Naruto twisted her head around to see Team Ten standing behind her. She should be irritated with the title given to her but it had always been a term of endearment between them.
It does not mean she forgave them for what happened but Naruto could tell from her childhood classmate that he was apologetic for calling out to her. He wouldn't call out to me if they knew anyone else here. It was forgivable for the first two days but after that, she was going to make them pay her money.
"Shikamaru-san! Choji-san! I-Ino-san!" Tsuna greeted. Ino wrinkled her nose at the boy's stutter and Naruto could almost hear what was going through Ino's mind. The stutter is not attractive at all. That was probably what went through her classmate's mind. In all her memories, the blonde knew what attracted the girl and it was someone with confidence.
Confidence, good-looks and the silent type seemed to be Ino's type. Basically everything that Sawada is not. She shook her head and raised a single eyebrow when she saw a smiling male walking towards them with the school jacket covered with spikes. The only thing that stood out to him was his red-hair and the amount of accessories.
She could practically see the look of disgust in Ino's eyes and Naruto would admit that the boy was not at all attractive. Actually he looks like a nitwit. Her eyes darted to Shikamaru and Choji. Only Choji did not find the boy's appearance annoying while the lazy bum of Team Ten looked at the teen like he was a pain in the ass.
"Is she a member of your Familigia, Sawada?" The boy called out. Dear god, another member of the Mafia! That had to be the explanation for the use of Familigia because no one else in their class would ask such a stupid question. Naruto thinned her lips. Why the hell would he think she would be a part of the Familigia? She was not a follower. "If I wanted a woman, I would find someone less ugly."
U-Ugly! Naruto grinded her teeth together and blinked when both Shikamaru and Choji took a step forward. Were they actually going to defend the insult directed at her? She took a deep breath. While it was probably nice of them, she did not need them to defend her honor. Maybe as a little girl who constantly had someone belittle her, it would have been great.
But she was nearly 15-years-old and she was in a relationship where appearances did not matter. Personality matters more. Naruto took a deep breath and raised a single eyebrow when Ino gawked at the boy. Why was she surprised? Ino knew that the boy was not the first one to insult her looks. Ino insulted her but then again…she never called her ugly.
That was something Ami had done.
"You know even if I get you a pair of glasses, you will still be as blind as a bat," Naruto chirped. Her voice dripped with coldness while everyone swirled their heads at her. Ino snorted, looking almost like she was trying to hold back a laugh, while Shikamaru and Choji laughed. She shrugged. It would be pointless for her to hit him.
Getting into a fight for something as pointless as being called ugly was just plain stupid. Besides I don't really care about how I look since I'm not trying to impress anyone. She tucked a strand of her hair while Tsuna just stared at Longchamp like he was an idiot. Maybe her classmate thought that it was stupid to call a girl ugly to her face.
"You are funny!" The boy declared. I insulted you and you think it is still funny? Yeah, he is a nitwit. The knowledge that she was now in a class with someone that was as foolish as this boy made her want to groan. He should be irritated or furious with her words. Maybe he had been dropped as a baby. That was the only explanation she could think of. "I see Sawada likes his women with a sense of humor!"
I'm not anyone's women! Naruto grinded her teeth together while Ino just stared at the boy with a look of disgust. The two girls exchanged glances and the blonde could tell that her classmate also found this kind of behavior insulting. She was not going to hit the male. If she smacked the male then people would presume his words were true.
She was her own person and her relationship between Sawada was nothing like what this nitwit believed. If it is not for the fact that I will get a lot of attention, I will tell him that I'm in a relationship with Hibari. Naruto exhaled as Shikamaru eyed her. His black eyes flashed with curiosity as if he was interested to know why she was not protesting to those words.
"Uzumaki and me aren't in a relationship!" Tsuna screeched.
The boy nodded.
"I wouldn't date someone as ugly as Uzumaki-san or the girl beside her," the boy declared. Ino's eyebrows twitched and Naruto held the girl back from scratching the boy. Now I know he is blind. Her lips twitched as the Yamanaka heiress struggled against her grip. "I mean a woman of the Mafia should be beautiful and be a damsel in distress."
Tsuna blinked and paled while Naruto glanced at the members of Team 10. All three members looked at her with confusion and the blonde felt her eyebrows twitched. Idiots. I'm surrounded by idiots. The thought made her eyebrows twitched. She thought she would have time before she had to explain the whole Mafia thing to them.
That boy was definitely dropped as a baby because only idiots would be spilling this type of information so loud!
Her second year of Middle School was definitely going to give her a headache.
"It seems like we have got a lot of new faces this year, Uzumaki-san!"
Naruto looked away from her notebook and blinked at the sight of Hana and Kyoko standing right in front of her desk. It was not strange for the golden-brown haired girl to talk to her. Ever since she began training the girl, her classmate was starting to have the courage to talk to her in class. But Hana was a surprise, the girl had never been a big fan of her.
Then again if Kyoko was starting to hang around her then Hana must have figured out to give her a chance. I doubt she knows what I've been training her best friend to do or she would tell me not to use Kyoko. In a sense, the golden-brown haired girl was Hana's Hinata and maybe it took her a little bit too long to figure it out.
She was still not sorry for what she told Kyoko about Mochida-senpai.
"I noticed," Naruto drawled. She dropped her pencil down and closed her book before either of them could take a peek of what she had been drawing to them. They won't understand the characters but it is better to be safe than sorry. She inhaled before relaxing her shoulders. "One of them is a big pain in the neck."
Hana raised a single eyebrow while Kyoko giggled at the annoyance coming out of her tone. If you have to be called someone's woman and be called ugly then you would be annoyed too! Naruto took a deep breath as the two females scanned the room to find her source of annoyance. There was only one person who could bring her this level of annoyance.
Neither Kyoko nor Hana knew about her relationship with Team Ten and Naruto was going to keep it that way. Unless Sawada already spilled I know the three new students, Hana will jump to the correct conclusion. She leaned against the chair as her eyes focused on the new loudmouth of their class.
"You are talking about Longchamp, aren't you?" Kurokawa asked. Her own grey eyes flashed with irritation as the boy roared with laughter. The older girl darted her eyes to Shikamaru before flickering to Choji and Ino. "He is the only student that looks familiar to me. The three new students are people that I have never seen before."
Naruto thinned her lips into a thin line as her blue eyes scanned the room. Some of the girls crowded around Gokudera and Yamamoto while other girls eyed Shikamaru with interest. It was odd. In the Academy, her skipping buddy was not someone that girls considered attractive. Then again they had Sasuke in their class and he had been way too attractive compared to Shikamaru.
He was also not a lazy ass, so it made sense for the girls to like Sasuke more.
"Is Longchamp the guy that looks like a dumbass?" Naruto asked. Kyoko coughed and covered up her laugh while Hana nodded. Amusement shone through her eyes and the blonde quirked her lips into a tiny smile. It did sound funny when she replayed it again in her mind. But she better schooled her expression or else people would think she was starting to soften up.
She was not soft at all and so what if she felt bubbles of amusement when she made people laugh with her comment? It would be weird for her not to find some amusement. Naruto sighed and slipped her book back into her bag before looking up at the ceiling. Maybe she was growing a little bit soft because of her training more people alongside her own training with Jiraiya.
"What do you think about the new students?" Hana asked as she took a seat right beside her. Kyoko took the other seat on her left and the blonde began to wonder when she started to have people flaking her. Maybe it is because of Sasagawa. That was the most reasonable explanation if you asked her. Naruto sighed. "The guy with the pineapple hair doesn't look like a monkey but the other guy eats too much."
That is because his jutsu requires him to eat a lot. Naruto bit her tongue from spilling out this fact to her two classmates. During their time in school, she had to pretend she did not know either of them. For Team Ten to benefit from her training, they would need to make friends with people who did not come from the same place as them.
Kyoko stared at her with wide golden eyes, looking vividly curious to know her opinion. Maybe she wants to know if I want her to get information about them. If it had been anyone else then yes she would give them as her first task. But she knew them and there was not a piece of information of them that she did not know.
"No opinion on them," Naruto answered. Hana did not blink at her answer, only nodding her head as if she expected the answer from her. Maybe she did expect the answer. If she acted like she did not know them then she would have no opinion on them. Everyone in their year knew that she was the type to be a little bit fair.
Kyoko just stared at her as if she was surprised by her answer and the blonde shrugged. I could make up a lot of bullshit but I'm not that kind of girl! I won't be petty. She tucked a strand of hair against her ears as her eyes flickered to some of the boys. Their eyes kept flickering from her to Kyoko before fixating their attention on Ino.
"Those monkeys are already going crazy on the new girl," Hana commented with a grimace. Naruto shrugged. It was something she expected to happen. Even during their time in the Academy, there had been some civilian boys interested in Ino. Too bad for them that Ino claimed to be in love with Sasuke. She grimaced at the memory. "She looks like she might be stuck up."
She is. The answer was on the tip of her tongue but Naruto controlled herself. One comment from her and Ino would have difficulty making some kind of friends here. As much as it was tempting for her to try and ruin her childhood classmate's life, she was going to control herself. If she wanted them to leave as soon as possible then she needed to keep her nasty thoughts to herself.
"You won't know until you talked to her," she declared with a blank tone as her blue eyes darted to Ino. Hana raised a single eyebrow and sharpened her eyes as if she sensed there was more to her words. I might act like a cold bitch but I'm a reasonable cold bitch. She exhaled and looked up to the ceiling.
It was easy to be emotional and allow pettiness to cloud judgment but being rational was better if you asked her. If people had been rational when they judged her as a little kid then maybe she would probably turned out differently. That was not bitterness if you asked her. It was just a plain fact. For her to be bitter would mean resentment and Naruto knew it was just human nature for people not to be always rational.
She shook her head and blinked when the door to the classroom slid opened. For a brief moment, she allowed surprise to colour her expression when a small figure came out of the door. I-Isn't that Reborn? That was the first thought that came to her mind as a black-haired toddler in a suit jumped up onto the table.
It looks like him! Her eyebrows twitched and Naruto directed her attention on Tsuna. The boy sat only a seat right in front of her, not allowing her to see his eyes but Naruto could see his shoulders trembling. He did not know that this was going to happen. Naruto grimaced and eyed Reborn, who scanned their classroom and curled his lips into a smirk when his eyes landed on Tsuna.
That sadistic glint spoke volumes to Naruto.
He is definitely planning something to humiliate Sawada again.
She almost pitied Sawada in that moment.
"This is going to be your last year in Middle School."
Naruto combed through Hibari's hair as the two of them stared up at the floating clouds. As soon as the school bell rang signaled the start of lunch, she came straight to the roof. While it was nice to interact with Kyoko and Hana, the blonde could only deal with so much interactions before feeling exhausted.
It was so difficult to keep her emotions in check for a whole day if you asked her. The blonde inhaled and looked down at Hibari. The black-haired boy nodded his head, signaling not only did he hear her words but she was correct. It would be weird if you asked her. This time next year, she would not see him during her break or lunchtime.
"Are you now willing to talk about what happened with Kusakabe two weeks ago?" She asked quietly. Naruto observed the boy and waited for any signs that Hibari was not willing to talk about it now. For the past two weeks, the boy had skillfully evaded her probing questions by telling her that he was not ready to talk about it just yet. Well he did not tell her. He kept stone silent and that told her volumes. "I gave you space."
Grey eyes closed and Naruto would give him five minutes. If he gave no subtle indication to her then Naruto knew he was still not ready to talk about it. I would have scolded Kusakabe for his behavior but Hibari handled him well. Her lips curled into a grimace as she recalled the bruises decorating Kusakabe's face.
After four minutes, Hibari grunted. I'm going to take that grunt as a yes. She relaxed her shoulders and looked down at her ally again. How should she begin this whole talk? It was rather awkward for them to talk about it. But this was something they needed to talk about eventually because she did not want him to feel annoyed that Kusakabe spilled his emotions to her.
"Kusakabe surprised me when he told me that you have been happy because of me," Naruto admitted. The words hung in the air and the boy opened his eyes to reveal grey eyes widening only slightly at her words. She cleared her throat and took a deep breath to vocalize the feeling that she felt on that day. "I was happy about that too but I thought I was the only one."
The boy arched his eyebrow at her as if surprised that she would admit this. I don't like vocalizing my feelings but I don't mind vocalizing it to him. Her hands continued to comb through it as she thought of how to explain her surprise him. She did not know why she wanted to explain. There was no need for her to explain it but Hibari never judged her.
Maybe she just wanted to get it off her chest.
"You don't show me your emotions and I'm fine with that," Naruto informed him. Hibari looked at her and his grey eyes did not show her any emotions. It did not mean she could not tell he was curious since his raised eyebrow told her everything. Where are you going with this? She exhaled. "I'm trying to tell you that I can't always know how you feel about me. I know you are fond of me but I don't know at what level."
Hibari nodded and the blonde blinked when the boy removed his head against her lap. It should not surprise her whenever he picked up her and put his lap but it did. She fought off a blush as the boy settled her on his lap. Was he going to avoid talking about it? What was he planning to do? She was not in the mood to kiss him.
Blue eyes widened when the boy placed his hand against her head and pushed her head against his chest. The sound of the other students laughing and chatting felt quiet compared to the racing heartbeat that echoed in her ear. She had a feeling of what the boy was trying to tell her but Naruto felt the need to confirm it. She cleared her throat and looked up at him.
"Are you trying to show me that you really like me?" Naruto asked quietly. The black-haired boy nodded and looked at her that she was being silly for vocalizing her question to him. Isn't it obvious now? That was what she got from the look in his eyes. It was obvious but there was still a part of her that felt the need to question everything.
She closed her eyes and exhaled. Maybe it was a good idea for her to vocalize her feelings to Hibari. It would be difficult for the both of them to show affections in public. While Naruto did not have a strong idea of why the boy was incapable of showing his emotions, she knew what was the cause when it came to herself.
"I'm not very good in this whole relationship thing," Naruto admitted to him. She knew the boy did not mind the fact that she was unconventional when it came to their relationship. When people entered a romantic relationship, they would make sickening names and showed their relationship. They get so affectionate in public and that made her uncomfortable.
Affection was supposed to be in private because no one would have to be sick in their stomach if they caught sight of them. I don't know about other girls but it feels like the guy is more of a trophy than someone they like. She exhaled as Hibari looked down at her. His grey eyes scanned at her and she could see the understanding and acceptance in his eyes.
"When I said that the Little Fox is my favorite animal, I don't take it lightly," Hibari finally said. I'm not playing games with you. That was her understanding from his words and the blonde relaxed her shoulders. She knew he was not the type to play around. The boy was good-looking but he was not someone who vocalized his feelings very well.
He was someone who showed his feelings through small actions and even then she had to squint it. But that is the same for everyone. Her lips twitched at the thought and the whiskered girl shook her head. The small affections that he was willing to give her was more meaningful than any affection that a person gave her.
There was a sincerity in them that made her feel special.
"I guess I'm insecure," Naruto said. She tried her hardest to keep her embarrassment from leaking out of her voice. It was bad enough that she had to vocalize her feelings like an idiot. Maybe I'm an idiot when it comes to feelings. The thought made her hunch her shoulders and the whiskered girl exhaled.
Hibari shook his head and pressed his forehead against her own forehead. Grey eyes inspected her as if he was trying to figure out more of her emotions. She could hear his breaths becoming steady, allowing her to calm down. He was not judging her for admitting that she could be insecure of their relationship at times.
"Little Fox, it is fine." Hibari muttered. It is okay for you to feel insecure. Naruto quirked her lips into a smile. He was fine with her being insecure at times. He was not upset with her for not being secure about their relationship. There had been a tiny part of her that feared Hibari would be upset if she admitted about her insecurity in their relationship.
Even though she knew he was willing to acknowledge their relationship, it was still okay for her to have some small form of insecurity. She knew he could find someone better than her but she knew he would never do it. She was just a little bit lucky that she was the girl Hibari allowed into his life.
"Tomorrow we will go hiking."
Blue eyes widened and Naruto felt her lips twitched.
"At night?"
When he nodded his head, the blonde knew that this gesture from him was worth more than any of the kisses that he gave her and that was why she could not stop herself from smiling at him.
A/N: Naito Longchamp is a character that you can only find in the KHR manga and has a very interesting idea of what beauty is. There might be another two or three chapters of fillers before the Varia Arc will start. Here are the next couple of questions:
Question 1: Why do you think Ino was surprised when Longchamp called Naruto ugly?
Question 2: Can you figure out why Shikamaru and Choji still have not vocalize their apology to Naruto?
Question 3: What do you think of the chat between Naruto and Hibari?
Question 4: Do you think Naruto has changed during the course of story? Why? And why not?
