Just before Izuku was about to head to the first round of the tournament, Mashirao came to stop him.

"Midoriya, I feel like I should let you know about Shinsou's power, since you're going up against him in the next round. I belie-" Izuku cut him off before he could say more.

"No, Mashirao, as much as I appreciate what you're trying, the guy's from the General Studies course and aiming to get transferred to the hero course. I already have a decent idea of what his power is, and taking away any advantage he might have by you telling me wouldn't be fair to him and his goals." Izuku knew he may very well be throwing the fight, but he felt that he should at least give Shinsou a fighting chance. Mashirao respected his decision and said no more on the matter, although he did wish him luck.

The arena they'd be fighting on was a large concrete square surrounded by grass. If either fighter was deemed unable to move or set foot outside the boundary, then they would be declared the loser. All Izuku really had to do was push the kid out of the arena and the win would be his.

"LET THE FIRST MATCH... BEGIN!" Midnight called out from beside the arena, sitting next to Cementoss where they could both easily intervene if the fighting got too violent.

"Hey, Midoriya, lets have a decent fight, okay? Don't hold back on my account," Shinsou called out from where he stood, about ten feet from Izuku.

"The same to-" Izuku's eyes went cloudy as his body stood slack where he was.

"Good. Now turn around and walk out of the arena for me," Shinsou ordered, as Izuku started to march towards the boundary.

About five steps later, Kuromu's hilt moved outwards, it's blade extending to allow the hilt to smack Izuku on the side of the head, a small cracking sound ringing out as it did so.

Izuku stopped and turned around towards Shinsou, the mind control broken.

"H-hey man, that's... how did you break out? What just happened?" Izuku didn't answer, instead opening his mouth as wide as he could and planting his feet.

A loud, deep humming resounded from Izuku's throat, too deep for a normal human's ear to register. Shinsou collapsed to the ground after a few seconds of being subjected to the noise, unconscious.

"...The winner is, IZUKU MIDORIYA, BY KNOCKOUT!" Midnight called after realizing what had happened. Shinsou quickly woke back up, now that the sound was gone and the pressure was released, and found Izuku standing over him, his arm extended to help him up.

"That was a good fight, Shinsou, your power is really strong!"

"Why are you trying to help me up?"

"...Because that's what decent people do?"

"...You do know I could have mind controlled you just now, since you responded?"

"Yep! But I trusted you wouldn't!" Izuku gave Shinsou one of his beaming smiles, who just shook his head with a grin and allowed Izuku to help him stand, as Present Mic yelled something about sportsmanship from the commentator's box.

"By the way,how DID you knock me out just now?"

"Oh, I just yelled the resonant frequency of the human brain, vibrating it in your skull until you passed out! ...You may have a mild concussion..." Izuku carried Shinsou quickly to Recovery Girl once he realized this, allowing for the next round to start.

"AND NOW, FOR OUT SECOND ROUND, WE HAVE MOMO YAOYOROZU VERSUS... FUMIKAGE TOKOYAMI! LET THE MATCH... BEGIN!"

As Dark Shadow rushed towards Momo, she could tell Tokoyami would not plan on moving that round, allowing his sentient quirk to do the work for him. She quickly produced two flashbangs, the pins already released, and threw them towards Dark Shadow, who flinched and retreated at the sight of the grenades.

"Izuku told me light would likely be your quirk's weakness!" Momo yelled at Tokoyami, as the tip of a blade extended out of her palm, until the hilt of the newly formed sword rest in her hand.

She swung the sword to the side, and the blade split into segments, with short chains running between each of them.

"And this may not be quite as good as Kuromu, but it'll get the job done!" Momo ran towards Tokoyami, throwing another flashbang to keep Dark Shadow at bay, before swinging the whip blade around to wrap around her opponent. As the blade encircled him, it got caught on itself, effectively lassoing the student, while Momo planted herself firmly and threw Tokoyami out of bounds with the weapon.

"THE WINNER BY RING-OUT IS MOMO YAOYOROZU!" Following Izuku's example, Momo walked over and helped Tokoyami up, although he was little worse for wear since the blade wasn't actually sharpened.

The next round was the quickest of them all. Sero tried to throw himself towards Todoroki, but the second the match started, a cold wind swept over the arena. Leading out from Todoroki, a massive glacier sliced forwards, reaching all the way out of the top of the stadium with its immense size, with Sero trapped in side it, unable to move.
