"Oh, hello. Would you happen to be Muzan-sama?"
The man had entered like a thief, yet his presence was that of an Emperor—intimidating and breathtaking. His aura was of an even darker shade of red than Doma's, almost pitch black, and so it wasn't difficult to guess his identity. Slowly, gracefully, the man stepped out of the shadows and came to stand beside the young human girl sitting on the edge of the koi pond. Her distinct pink hair was swaying gently under the midnight breeze, and she looked up at him with pale, silvery eyes which reflected the moonlight.
Well, there was no denying that Doma had good tastes, he mused internally.
"Doma is out feeding at the moment," she then informed, her tone a tad too casual for someone who spoke of people being murdered. "There is tea in the kitchen, though, if you'd like some. I'd offer to make it myself, but I'm afraid walking isn't an option for me, you see."
"… you know who I am. Are you not scared?"
She smiled lightly, the question strangely nostalgic. "I'm not."
"You should be."
"Probably. If I'm to be honest, though, I think humans are much scarier than demons," she admitted, looking down at her useless legs. The atrophied limbs laid unmoving in the pond, and there was no denying that the sight was mildly perturbing. "Though, you surely didn't come all this way to hear me rant. Doma should be—"
"You're the one I came to meet with."
Surprised showed on her face, before she bowed her head deeply. "I'm honored. How may I be of assistance to you, Muzan-sama?"
He stared at her for a moment. She was genuine in her sentiment, which was admittedly surprising. Really, what a strange little human Doma had picked up…
"I heard you could see the future. Is it true?"
"I did—once," she confirmed, before frowning slightly. "However, it's not an ability I can control, and I didn't have any other vision since that first time."
"What if you became a demon?"
"Then I would surely die," she replied without missing a beat. She had apparently been expecting the suggestion. "My body is weak, and my will to live is fickle. Even if you were to try and turn me into a demon now, I'm not strong enough to withstand the process of transformation."
"… I see. May you enjoy whatever little time you have left, then."
"I will. Thank you, Muzan-sama."
On which he disappeared amongst the shadows through which he first came from, and Sakura returned to playing around in the koi pond.
