Hey everyone, thought I'd take a moment to address you guys. I'm sure you guys have appreciated having none of this author note buzz spewed out at you, but authors here need to share their thoughts with you somehow. Not everyone's interested in profile and blogs. Or maybe that's just me. Anyways about the story.
Those of you who had kept up with this story, may have noticed I've edited the Index options to mention East Blue. Since I've written past Loguetown, I consider writing up to that point to be a milestone, and a possible end point if someone so wishes. For each arc, I'll try to write each leg as a book. Makes it easier for everyone to reread something if they want to go back to it. Oh, and thank you to everyone who's read up to this point. I don't know if my writing's garbage or not, but it means a lot. Thank you. Now, without any further ado.

Proudly Presents The Next Chapter:
One Magi: Onward to Paradise
"The Entrance to the Grand Line is a mountain."
"What? A Mountain?"
Everyone sat around the kitchen table. Nami, the navigator, had a map laid out to explain their course. Luffy, the captain, was playing around with a glass cup between his teeth. Zoro, a swordsman, was incredulous and leaned against the table. Sanji, the cook, stood against the sink, surprised. Usopp, their so called sniper, looked at Nami like she had grown another head. Maxwell Trevelyan wasn't sure what to make of it.
He was a member of the Strawhat Pirates, united by dreams and adventure, to head forth towards the Grand Line. Maxwell originally joined to find a new purpose in life, which he did. His wish: to become the Greatest Sorcerer in the world! Or at least, this world.
Maxwell came to the World of Six Blues from the Fade. A mysterious place of dreams, thought, and spirits. Where he was from, an explosion had ripped the world apart, and Maxwell was flung deep into recesses of the Fade. He flew long time in that abyss, having no control how or where he would go. This kept going until Maxwell was spat out into the East Blue.
Now they head to the Grandline. This sea, this legendary sea, who has felled many a pirate, is the famed ocean said to hold the One Piece. The treasure of the infamous Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, himself. And to find his treasure..!
...apparently you need to go up a mountain.
"Exactly. I had a hard time believing it myself when I looked at the map, but look!" Everyone looks at the map, seeing five sections carved onto a continental mass. "The Light of Guidance was pointing directly at Reverse Mountain, located right here on the Red Line."
"Does this mean we have to crash through the mountain?" asks Luffy.
"No, there's a waterway right here," she points out the lines on the map.
"A waterway? That's crazy!" says Usopp, not believing the possible physics. "Even if that waterway is really there, there's no way a ship could climb up a mountain!"
"But that's what the map says."
"That's right. As if Nami says could ever be long!" Sanji agrees. Please note that Sanji is a terrible flirt, and pushover, when it come to women.
Zoro looks over to Nami, "Isn't that the map you stole from Buggy? How dependable could it be?" Buggy was a pirate they had encountered early in their adventures. Ever since the Stawhats defeated the pirate captain, he has sworn to be their enemy. Or at least Luffy's, Buggy was probably just embarrassed.
"Are we really gonna climb a mountain on a ship!? That sounds so cool!" Luffy was just excited, "So it's a mystery mountain?" and a bit of an idiot.
Zoro pointed out the obvious, "Why do we even have to enter directly through the entrance anyways? Couldn't we just head directly south and still enter?"
"No we can't!" states Luffy, pointing a finger at his swordsman.
"That's right, and there's a perfectly good reason for that." "It's so much cooler to go in using the real entrance!" "That's not the reason!" Nami hits Luffy on the head.
Usopp looks out the window, "Wait, what! Guys! The storm suddenly stopped!"
"What? That can't be," Nami looks through the window, "That storm should have directly led us to the entrance..." That storm was also how they were able to escape their last island, with enemy pirates and marines.
Everyone heads outside, onto the deck of the Going Merry. Their little ship was a caravel with a sheep head as their figure head. The ship's Jolly Roger sagged without a care in the calm blue skies. Just north of them were the thunder clouds they were just under. It was like the storm was sheered off from where they were. The crew enjoyed the weather, except for one person.
"Oh no! We've entered the Calm Belt...!" Nami was never out of where they were.
"Calm Belt? What's that?" asks Luffy.
"This is no time to be just standing about! Go grab the oars and start doing as fast as you can! We have to return back to the storm immediately!"
"As you wish, Nami!" Sanji immediately follows here orders. Again, mostly because he's absolutely love struck.
"What're getting so worked up about? And you know this is a sail ship, not a rowboat, right?" "Why would we even want to go back into the storm?"
"JUST SHUT UP AND DO WHAT I SAY!"
Maxwell raises his hands to try and placate the navigator, "Whoa Nami, calm down a bit. Why do we have to go back north?"
"Listen! The Grand Line is surrounded by two oceanic belts. And those windless belts are known as the Calm Belt, which is exactly where we're stuck now!"
"So? What's your point?" Zoro turns around uninterested.
"The point is that—!" The ship begins to rubble.
"Ah! Is this an earthquake?" "But we're out in open seas!"
Maxwell looks out wide-eyed and frightened. The ship wasn't rubbling because of an earthquake, but they might as well have been! The Going Merry was propped on the bridge of a sea monster's nose.
And it was not alone.
"...This place is a den for seakings... Especially the big ones..." Seakings come in just about every serpentine, aquatic shape you can think of. The one they happen to be on was black and white, with a lizard's head, and he was the biggest of them all.
Nami hugs the mast in despair. Everyone else is shocked silent, and Usopp is knocked out cold from fright.
"A... Alright...," Zoro discreetly grabs an oar, "...As soon as this thing dives back down into the sea, start rowing your arms off, got it!?"
"Aye-aye!"
*SNIFF-SNIFF ...A...*
"What...?"
*A...*
"Oh shit! Everyone, get close to me! Now!" Maxwell summons a Storm array on the deck and everyone gathers inside it.
*ACHOO!*
The seaking sneezes, throwing the ship and it's crew back into the East Blue. The crew all floats in the air, tethered to streams of electricity until the Going Merry lands into safer waters. The only reason they didn't all fall off, was because of Maxwell's Magic. Static Cage made sure they stayed in one place. The magic circle made sure they stayed anchored on the ship. And gratefully, it was tweaked just to grab them if they fell outside the circle. As in, not being electrocuted to death.
*Z-Z-CRACK! Rumble...*
"Oh thank God... We're back in the storm now...," spoke Luffy. Everyone laid on the deck, having narrowly escaped death via sea monster.
"Now do you understand why we have to use the entrance?" Nami asks the crew.
Maxwell slowly gets up from the floor, "Yeah... We get it."
"...Ah, I think I got it! We really are going to climb up the mountain!" Nami rises from the deck.
"Got a theory Nami?"
"Yeah. It must be due to the sea currents. If strong currents from each of the four seas were to all head towards that mountain, then they would drive the water up the waterway. And at the top, the currents will merge and come out to the Grand Line! Since we're already riding the currents, all we have to worry about is steering properly. Reverse Mountain is considered a winter island, so the currents that hit it's edge will travel down to the bottom of the sea. So if we fail to enter the waterway, we'll crash and get dragged to the bottom of the sea. Got it?"
"So basically, you're saying that it's a mystery mountain, right?" Luffy holds his chin nodding to the explanation.
Nami deadpans at their captain, "I shouldn't have expected you to understand..."
"Nami, you're amazing!" yells Sanji.
"Well we can all help regarding the steering. Though, I'm surprised at how well the Merry responds to my magic. Normally energizing an object doesn't have this much of an effect." Maxwell pats the mast. The Going Merry was surprisingly responsive ever since they got the ship.
Zoro stands up, "Never heard of a ship going up a mountain before."
"I've heard a bit," said Sanji. "About the mountain?" asks Zoro.
"No, but I've heard things about the Grand Line. Supposedly, half the people die just trying to go in. Entering it is no easy task."
"I see the mystery mountain! It's huge!" "Wait! What's that huge shadow!?"
Maxwell follows they gaze, and indeed. A titanic wall of earth and stone appears in the storm. The sea may have carved into the cliff side, but it stood incredibly strong. The earthen wall even stood above the clouds, reaching high into the sky.
"Get a good grip of the rudder so we don't get dragged under!" calls Luffy. Sanji and Usopp head to the leaver. "Max! Use your magic to direct the ship as we go! This water looks really rough here!"
"Aye-aye!" The ropes and sails gain a mysterious blue aura as Maxwell energizes the ship.
And indeed the waters were rough. The ocean looked like it had turned into rapids of a river. Dead ahead was the waterway, and water really did go up the slope.
"We're veering off course! Turn a little to the right!" Maxwell directs one of the oars of the port to add leverage as they steered to starboard. Now they have a clear shot under the pagodas.
"WE DID IT!" Everyone cheers as they go up the mountain. The current carries them, faster and faster, until they reach the top of the four rivers.
"Yahoo!" The colliding currents have them jump into the air, "Now all we have to do is go down!"
The Merry lands on the fifth current, staring down the Grand Line. Everyone gets a birds eye view. Lines of islands heading past the horizon, under banks of cloud, in a mysterious grand adventure.
Maxwell smiles as the wind blows in they faces, "Now the real journey begins."
