"Morning Naru!" Mai yelled as she entered the office. The girl then noticed Gene on the sofa. "Morning Gene, I'll make some tea." Gene looked up from the paper he was reading and smiled. "Morning, and thank you." He then followed the girl into the kitchen and watched her prepare the tea. From time to time he opened his mouth as if to speak but closed them quickly again. Every time successfully moving out of Mai's way who was running around the kitchen collecting what she needed. "You know, Gene." He jumped at the sound of her voice. "If you have something to say just say it." Mai stated still focused on the task she gave herself. Gene was about to speak but stuttered. He couldn't form anything that made sense. He sighed. "It's about Yasu!" He said finally. Probably a little louder than he wanted to.

"Did you have a fight?" Mai asked turning to face the boy. She was now waiting for the water to boil. "No! That's the problem. We're way too friendly with each other. I'll get friendzoned for sure." Gene answered. He was actually really concerned but Mai still thought he was overreacting. It was easy for her to say. She, after all, knew that Yasu was also interested in Gene. "So you actually really like him?" The girl asked. "You could at least believe me you know." Gene somehow assured.

"So what do you want from me?"

Gene looked puzzled. "Advice?" He asked. He himself wasn't sure. To be honest he might have hoped that Mai had some information from Yasu which she would be willing to share. "I'm sorry. When it comes to this I'm as bad as Naru. Just in my own way." He apologized.

"Well, I'm afraid I am the wrong person to ask." Mai looked down. She was thinking about what to say next. The girl wanted to give Gene some courage but possibly without outing Yasu. It was something between the two of them. "Don't worry so much. Just do what you feel you want to do." She added looking up.

"Is there something you know?" Gene asked suspicious as the girl turned around to fill the cups with water. "Nothing that I'm supposed to tell you." Mai answered finishing the tea. "This cup is yours." She pointed before taking two cups and leaving the kitchen. Gene lifted his cup. "Meanie." He sighed taking a sip. He then noticed Lin walking into the kitchen. He took the remaining cup and left.

Meanwhile, Mai headed to Naru's office. Her both hand were occupied so she didn't bother knocking. Instead, she opened the door with her elbow and made her way to Naru's desk. The girl placed both cups on the desk then went around the furniture and started to look for something in one of the drawers. Naru raised an eyebrow as he scanned the girl's actions. "Aren't you getting quite bold, Mai?" The girl didn't bother answering. She already found what she was looking for. Mai took a file out of the drawer and went back to 'her' seat which was the chair she occasionally sits in when she drinks tea with Naru. "I needed this." She said placing the files on the desk. "Besides my great boss wouldn't scold me for that." Mai added taking a sip of her tea. Naru smiled. "It seems to me that that great boss of yours could use a bit of help or else he will have you all stepping all over him soon."

"Since when does the great Oliver Davis need help?" She asked jokingly. Naru raised his eyebrow again. "I don't, believe me. Could it be that the great boss you are talking about is me?" Mai laughed a little. "It told you before and I really mean it." She then pointed at the files. "But enough about your greatness. What about the case?" Naru moved the laptop he had on his desk and took his cup of tea. "What about it?" He asked taking a sip. "Before our last case, I told you we had a few more possible cases. This one was quite interesting. Well, the most interesting one out of them all." She opened the file and turned it around for Naru to read. "Are you choosing the cases depending on how interesting they are?" Naru asked as he moved the papers closer to read them. "That's my job. I choose the ones you would choose. And you would choose the interesting ones." She answered proudly.

"A school?" He asked not answering to what the girl just said. It didn't mean he didn't listen. "Yeah. A special school it seems. They have a special class for students who are overall quite smart but a bit problematic. And it's this class that is being haunted. Last time I spoke with the director 4 teachers teaching this class left or got seriously injured so that they couldn't come back. And for students I think it was around half of the class. Mostly 3rd years." Mai ended explaining.

"3rd years?"

Mai nodded. "The special class contains the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years. Like I said they are quite smart so they are all learning the same stuff. Mostly already topics one learns in universities. Naru smirked a bit. "Smart my ass." He whispered so that Mai couldn't really even make out the words. In the end, each of those 'smart' ones won't survive long in this world. Let alone if they had a job like Naru's. Life is not like in school. "So, Mai." He started. "Why did you give me the files when you were going to explain the whole case to me yourself?"

He caught Mai off guard. "I wasn't! That's not even one third of the case. Read on."

"A lot of flying chairs and desks. Doors locking themselves trapping students inside. Supposedly one possession." He said as he continued to read. "Might as well…" Naru handed Mai the files. "Call them. Ask if they are still interested and set up a meeting at our office if so." Mai smiled. "Yes!"

Mai looked at the files Naru just gave her. "Wait, why did you give it to me? It was in your drawer. Literally an inch or two next to your hand. Just put it back there." She said stretching out her hand with the papers in it. "Nope, you took it out you will put them back." Naru answered pulling his laptop closer. Mai looked at him in disbelief but got up and put the files away. She then returned back to her seat. "Ey Naru, has Gene tried to talk to you?"

"About?"

"Yasu, maybe?"

"Yeah, last night. He wouldn't stop whining and I couldn't be bothered by him acting like a 5 year old so I told him you would be a better help."

"And why the hell did you think I would be a better help?"

"I assumed he wanted to confess. In that case, you have more experience than me I assume."

Mai's face became red. "You are bullying me!"

"I'm just stating the truth!"

"Well, in that case, I am also not the best person to seek advice from! If I remember correctly both my confessions were a failure."

"Were you rejected?" Naru asked completely serious. He looked up from his laptop to face Mai. Again he caught her by surprise. "Completely ignored." She answered smiling bitterly. Naru took his now empty cup and got up. He headed for the door. "But not rejected." He said as he passed Mai by.

The girl tried to process what her boss just said. She however gave up then grabbed her own cup and followed him. "What was that supposed to mean, Naru?"
