Chapter 25

"Let's review are military stances shall we." Thomas said walking between the rows of guards. Thomas had been there for a week and Liana hated every minute of it.

"Thomas you've been working on military stances for the past hour please do something else." Liana groaned walking over. "Not until they get it right." Thomas complained. "Liana we're thirsty." Stan said nervously.

"Guys take five." Liana said waving off the guards. "Why did you do that!" Thomas exclaimed. "You can't let them pass out and military positions aren't important." Liana said crossing her arms.

"With all due respect your highness." Thomas began trying to explain himself. "For the last time it's Liana, just Liana!" Liana exclaimed throwing her face into her hands. "You're a princess you should go by your highness, m'lady, and your majesty!" Thomas yelled.

"What I am is a sixteen year old girl who can throw a mean punch." Liana said putting her fist up to Thomas's face. "Try it I dare you." Thomas said lowering Lianas fist.

Liana rose her fist and threw a punch but was suddenly grabbed and pulled back before it could hit Thomas's face. "Whoever just grabbed me is going to die!" Liana exclaimed turning around to see her dad looking down at her.

"Oh h-hi daddy." Liana said trying to sound innocent. "My study now." Eugene said angirly pointing inside the castle. Liana hung her head and began to walk inside. "Thomas continue training." Eugene said turning back before walking away.

Thomas nodded and began reviewing military stances again. "Liana what the hell was that, trying to punch Thomas!" Eugene yelled closing the door to his study.

"Blame him he dared me." Liana said slumping down in a chair. "Liana you have been working with those guards since you were born, I expect better from you!" Eugene exclaimed pacing back and forth.

"If I've been working with them since I was born than you would know I don't need a freaking partner!" Liana yelled standing up. "Liana this isn't about the partnership..." Eugene began to say but was cut off.

"NO DAD IT IS, I HAVE WORKED MY WHOLE LIFE TO PROVE TO EVERYONE THAT I CAN TRAIN THOSE GUARDS THAT IM NOT JUST SOME STUFFY PRINCESS AND YOU TOOK ALL THAT AWAY WHEN YOU MADE THAT JERK DOWN THERE MY PARTNER!" Liana yelled feeling tears swell in her eyes.

"Li that wasn't what I was trying to do." Eugene said trying to calm her down. "What were you trying to do dad because it for sure wasn't to help me!" Liana cried running out of the room.

Eugene stood there dumbfounded if there was one thing that hurt him more than anything was when Liana cried because he knew she only did it when she was truly heartbroken.

That night Liana didn't come to dinner she had refused to leave her room or talk to anyone, the only person who hadn't tried yet was Skye. "Liana, I thought we could paint togther." Skye said knocking on Lianas door.

Skye waited but there was no answer, Skye began to walk off when she heard the door open. "You can come in Skye." Liana said wiping a tear from her cheek. Skye smiled and ran into Lianas room.

"Are you okay?" Skye asked putting the canvas and small jars of paint on Lianas night stand. "No." Liana said sitting on her bed beginning to cry. Skye quickly say next to her.

"I think you just need a hug." Skye said rubbing Lianas arm. "You think." Liana said letting out a small giggle between tears. Skye hugged Liana close. The two girls had always been close and rarely fought unlike with their brothers.

The two stayed in their hug for hours. Rapunzel walked into to find the two girls. She stayed quiet at first and just watched not wanting to ruin the moment.

Finally Rapunzel broke the silence. "Liana." Rapunzel said softly. "Oh hi mom." Liana said sitting up. Skye got off the bed and grabbed her stuff and left. "Bye Skye." Liana called waving. "Bye Liana feel better." Skye smiled before closing the door.

"If your here to tell me dad didn't mean to upset me, Lucas already told me." Liana said getting off her bed and walking to her window seat. "I'm not here to do that." Rapunzel said following Liana.

"Then what do you want?" Liana asked sitting down. "I'm here to tell you that you need to prove to you can do anything no matter who or what is getting in your way." Rapunzel said sitting in front of Liana.

"What are you talking about." Liana said looking out her window. "The Liana I know wouldn't let that royal pain in her behind get in her way, she'd show him, her dad, and her whole kingdom she can take whatever you throw at her times a thousand." Rapunzel said moving Lianas head to look at her.

"Your right." Liana smiled. "I need to show him that it doesn't matter what he thinks if he asks to get punched I'm gonna punch him with everything I got." Liana said smiling. "That's my girl." Rapunzel said proudly. "Thanks mom." Liana said hugging Rapuzel.

Rapunzel smiled, she stood up to walk away but turned around to say one last thing. "Li, don't let this fight ruin your relationship with your dad ok." Rapunzel said giving a slight smile.

"I wasn't going to I just wanted him to be upset for a while." Liana said looking back out her window. Rapunzel stifled a laugh. "Goodnight Li." Rapunzel said leaving. "Goodnight mom." Liana smiled.

Staring tomorrow nothing was stopping her from becoming the next captain of the guard.
