-Sleep Transition Finished-

Last night was pretty successful if Megumin's Level had anything to say about it.

[Megumin]

[Level 18 (1,415/2,600)]

A whopping 3 whole levels were gained last night, it was practically the same as doing a Raid with none of the risks. Unfortunately this would mostly only work for her as my other Generals had little to no long range damaging Skills. Kaminari could only stun them, Bruce was only melee with his fists and I suppose Metagross could do it by dragging in the captured Zombie but he would soon run out of Mana.

If I wanted the others to get in on this, practically, free EXP then I would need all of them. Kaminari to stun groups at a time, Metagross to be the tank and Bruce to be the main attacker as his Skill Consecutive Punches are mostly for strong singular targets. I suppose he could use it to take out three Zombies at a time. With his high STR Stat he could one shot the regular Zombies, the problem being the high Mana cost.

But I can deal with that later tonight, right now I can work on the castle a little more.

It's basic shell on the outside is almost complete, with 2 of the corner towers being completed. The walls inbetween the towers were at a sufficient height of 5 blocks tall, them also being 4 blocks thick also helped. Eventually I would like to replace the two inner blocks with obsidian to really fortify it and make Creepers unable to get in but that would take ages so i'd rather do that later when I have a bigger mining operation.

And speaking of bigger forces, I think I'll try to recruit some of the Zombies from the Herd to increase our workforce. Right now we are definitely making enough resources to build the castle but I'd like to get some more cannon fodder, not that I won't equip full iron to every single one of them. I'm also thinking about recruiting another couple of Iron Golems, they are definitely more expensive than just grabbing a couple Zombies but they are more durable to equal it out.

Anyways, I should just focus on finishing up this tower. The inside part of it is a staircase and that is taking up the most time, a spiral staircase so I can actually go up and down the things in a timely manner have to be made. Obviously they have to be made of wood so chopping down trees also consume most of my time, I usually just complete a tower and with the remaining time I fill in the walls.

Metagross is a usual help as he can deliver most of the Stone and Cobblestone over to me from the chests, his Iron Golem friend also helps me out by lifting me up to reach the higher parts of the wall. It's a little embarrassing but I choke it down and continue building, the future cannot be delayed due to my feelings.

-Midnight-

Tonight was not going to be the night that I took went over and took on the big bad Herd.

They decided to save the trouble and come to me instead.

[Alert, requirements met for The Herd:Squads]

[Requirements:Provoke the Herd and have sufficient strength or, in your case, 4 Generals]

This was probably going to be ok?

[Raid has begun]

If it was something like the last raid I should be able to take it on, especially now that I have stronger Generals and good equipment.

I immediately recalled all my subordinates to come and protect our base. I was finishing up the last of the 3rd wall of the castle but that can wait till after this.

I heard the thundering footsteps before I saw them, if this was a scare tactic I might have to consider copying them. I looked from the wall I was on, I should be safe here until my Generals arrive.

This was soon proven wrong, the Zombies started climbing atop each other and at this rate I would be quickly consumed before reinforcements arrived. I quickly deserted the wall as it proved to be useless at this level, I ran into the middle of the unfinished castle and looked back to see what i'm dealing with. These Zombies are defiantly smarter than regular ones, they soon got over the wall and spotted me once more.

Frick, they started running.

These were definitely some smart Zombies, I can't risk letting them inside the real base. There Squad Leader's are nowhere to be found, they might be unable to climb walls.

I was right, they were only able to walk through 4 blocks of solid Stone.

All things considered they looked like a regular Zombie, except for the pooling acidic ooze that drips of it and burns the grass where it walks. It doesn't seem completely impervious to it's own acidic properties as most if not all of its body is melted or even down to the bone in some places. The classic teal shirt was completely gone except for a sleeve that seemed to be barely holding on with several holes. The pants do seem to be more intact then they should as they became more like ripped shorts, the small mercies of preserving modesty I suppose.

They don't seem to move like the other Zombies and instead shuffle to their target as opposed to the others blind sprinting. Speaking of incoming Zombies they are going to approach me pretty soon and I seem to have run out of obstacles to put inbetween me and them.

If I couldn't walk on air of course.

Jokes aside I do sense that my comrades will soon arrive, Kaminari to be precise. I push the time limit of my Vaulting Boots and get myself to stay in the air long enough, this required a certain amount of concentration as I tried to keep the already used Mana from disappearing after I used it. My inattention did cost me as my leg was grabbed, the Zombies had piled up to reach me. I shook it off and became a bit more scared when my 3rd use of the Boots started flickering and giving out.

Kaminari soon burst through the pile like it was a freshly fallen group of leaves.

I drop from the soon disappearing perch I had and land on top of Kaminari's back.

My relief soon started to turn back to dread when the Zombies not in the pile started grabbing at Kaminari's legs, trying to sink him down.

-End-

Authors Note:Whew, probably do some descriptions next chapter. New Faction to mess around with as well.

Reviewers:

ShadowKing241:Yea I kind of do the same thing with my writing. I pretty much just set a destination and let myself make the journey too it. Don't tell anyone but 90% of what I put in her is thought up on the spot.

Br9k3n:Thanks for the compliment! Hopefully It'll have a good middle and end too.
