You Can Leave Your Hat On-Ch 31
The next couple of weeks flew by and Derek much to his happiness was spoiled rotten by his mom, sisters and his beautiful bride to be, they wouldn't let him do anything that they thought would hurt him. Penelope and the other women were busy making wedding plans while the men spent time keeping Derek company and talked about the honeymoon.
Everything had been going good, well except for Penelope and JJ and the only thing that was wrong with them were they were both staying nauseated all of the time. Fran being an RN had a good idea what was wrong and she pulled both girls aside one afternoon and suggested that they go see their doctors.
JJ and Penelope looked at her puzzledly and Penelope said, "it's probably just a stomach bug Fran, we're alright", Fran put one hand on Penelopes shoulder and the other on JJ's and said, "girls I've been a nurse for a long time and I've also had three children so trust me when I say that you're pregnant",
Penelopes hand covered her mouth and she whispered, "do you think that it's possible, could we really be pregnant"?, Fran leaned in and whispered, "have you been having sex"?, JJ and Penelope smiled and nodded their heads yes. Fran said, "well then chances are good that you are pregnant".
The girls walked over to their purses and pulled out their calendars and flipped through to see when they had their last period, JJ looked up at Penelope and said, "oh Garcie". Penelope said, "ohhhhh Jayje", Fran said, "well how long has it been"?, JJ said, "it's been three months for me".
Penelope swallowed hard and said, "it's been over two months for me", Fran smiled and said, 'why don't you two ladies go together and get some blood work, at least that way you will know for sure, right"?, JJ said, "wanna take a little ride with me Garcie"?, Penelope nodded her head and said, "let's gooooooooo".
Penelope turned around and said, "oh Fran" and Fran said, "don't worry I'll make up an excuse for the two of you, now scoot" and the two girls hugged her and quickly made their way toward the back door. About 5 minutes after they left Derek walked into the kitchen and said, "ma have you seen baby girl, I can't find her anywhere".
Fran said, "she was here a few minutes ago, I think her and JJ went to the store", Derek said, "but they just went yesterday", Fran said, "don't worry son, they won't be gone long". Derek said, "momma what aren't you telling me"?, Fran said, "ohhhh here try one of these" as she handed him a double chocolate chip cookie.
He took a bite and said, "good, very good but momma" and Fran said, "son, go sit back down and rest and when the girls get back I'll let you know", he opened his mouth to argue and then thought better as his mom said, "Derek Michael Morgan" and motioned for him to go sit back down, he sighed and said, "yes mam" and turned around and walked into the living room and sat down on the couch beside Dave.
Dave said, "that momma of yours is something else", Derek said, "meaning what old man"?, Dave said, "meaning that she's something special", Derek nodded his head in agreement and said, "that she is Dave, that she is". A few minutes later on the way to the hospital JJ called her OB and was so happy when she agreed to fit both her and Penelope in for some last minute bloodwork.
The girls were now sitting in the lab waiting on the results of their blood and urine tests, JJ said, "what if we're pregnant"?, Penelope stroked her stomach and said, "it's going to change our lives Jayje, but ohhhhh for the better". JJ blew out a deep breath and said, "a baby, I can't believe it, we could be" and they were pulled from their thoughts as the doctor walked into the room and turned to both women and said, "ladies I have your results".
Penelope grabbed JJs hand and they blew out deep breaths as they waited for the doctor to speak
