Scene 25
Kakashi and then were finally back from their mission successful.
They had defeated two Akatsuki members.
Naruto came right at the nick of time too with his new jutsu: Wind Release Rasengan.
After a while, Tsunade finally called Kakashi to her office along with the others.
"We have word that Sasuke Uchiha has killed Orochimaru." she started.
The room gasped.
"Does that mean Sasuke is free now?" asked Sakura.
"Yes, but not entirely. What it does mean is that he is in search of vengeance no doubt."Tsunade responded.
Sakura and Naruto nodded.
Tsunade went on to explain the mission then. To find Sasuke or Itachi first.
Once everyone began to leave the room, Tsunade asked for Kakashi to stay.
"Yes Madame Hokage?" he asked.
HEaring that Orochimaru was dead, all he could think about was Kaiya.
Did Kaiya know yet?
If not he needed to tell her as soon as possible.
"Kaiya went off to search for proof whilst you were away," Tsunade explained.
"What? Kaiya left the village?" he gasped.
Tsunade nodded, "Kaiya came to me saying she couldn't sense Orochimaru anymore. That what she used to be able to feel, was now replaced by another's presence."
"So you let her just go out there not knowing if her abuser was still alive or not?!" shouted Kakashi.
Tsunade got up slamming her desk, "I trust Kaiya's instincts! Kaiya is not some innocent little child anymore. Never in her life has she wanted or showed signs of wanting to see that man again. Kaiya is a grown woman now and needed to find closure in her own way!"
"And what if she had gotten hurt, what if Orochimaru hadn't died?" pressed Kakashi.
Tsunade shook her head, "So you wanted me to have just kept her locked up in the village? Unable to leave or find answers? Locked up as she had been as a child?" she yelled, "If you expected me to do that, how is that any different than what Orochimaru had down?" staring Kakashi down.
He unclenched his fists and sighed, "You're right." he agreed unwillingly.
"Kakashi,' Tsunade began, 'I know you love Kaiya more than anything else in this world. But she needs to grow. You can't keep her away from harm always, I am not going to be like the Third Hokage and repeat his mistakes."
She was referring to how the Third Hokage and Kakashi agreed to not tell Kaiya during the chunin exams of Orochimaru's appearance.
When Kakashi was finally able to leave Tsunade's office he stopped at his apartment to find a letter.
In it, Kaiya explained to Kakashi almost everything Tsunade had expressed to him.
Kaiya needed answers.
She needed closure.
But was that all Kaiya needed?
Where did her closure end?
Finding Orochimaru's body?
Finding Sasuke?
Kakashi prayed that Kaiya was okay wherever she was and that they would cross paths with her as they searched for Sasuke.
