Chapter 4-Disappearing Act

Peter was exhausted he was up all night at a party. It was a nice party a bit of drinking that was fun. His dad called him every night but all he could think about was Wanda. His best friend his solstice was gone? Just disappeared out of thin air? Someone must of captured her for some reason. If he had to guess the same person who setting his sense off.

"Peter, get your eyes out of the sky" Mary instructed snapping her fingers in front of his face. He groaned, he did not know why his hangover wasn't going away faster.

"Dude, this is like the hundredth time today" Ned complained, wearing similar look to Mary Jane or as he liked to call her May Jane. She liked to be called MJ sometimes but he didn't want to address this girl as the same name he called his girlfriend. What would MJ say if she found out. Even though he knew that May Jane and Ned were kind of a thing.

"I Know I'm sorry" He said. He just couldn't help it. Tony had told him not to go home for some reason. Probably wants him away so they can have some couple time. Which he guessed he understood. He tuned Lucy out as she babbled about some campus event he didn't really care about and thought back to Wanda. He didn't understand the extent of her powers but could she reach out to him through mind telepathy.

"ow" Peter says suddenly when he kicked from under the table. May Jane sends him a glare, and a look pointing towards a frowning Lucy.

"Did you hear a word I said" She demanded annoyed. Peter smiled sheepishly and she rolled her amused.

"Goodness gracious boy. I thought you had super hearing" She mocked laughing. "I'll tell you later. Or not"

Peter chuckled a bit. He had made a pretty great group of friends. A support group if you will, but also not. He didn't tell them about the doubts he'd been having or the fact that he could practically go out on his own legally. He didn't tell them that he had been having some second thoughts about his sister. Or how much Wanda's disappearance had affected him. He didn't really tell them anything. Until his spider sense went off.

"Ned" Peter whispered to his friend who looked at him alarmed. He glanced at the door and back at Ned dropping the hint. Ned looked a bit panicked.

"What is it" Ned whispered back eying the door too. Peter started to hear stomping coming from the door. He also heard guns shaking around in the mans belts.

Acting on pure instinct and the ability of no longer having to keep his identity a secret Peter tapped his watch twice, alerting the Avengers of the situation which Karen gave with vitals, and a full report. Then he tapped it three times releasing the nanotech housing his newest iron spider suit. It had some invisible tech or something he'd been working on before he left.

Just as the doors opened he was ready. He was on the roof and landed on top of one of them successfully knocking him out. He got into battle stance as the others took out their guns and started shooting the place up.

"Karen get me out of here" Peter said, his heart pounded in his ears as Karen guided him outside where students couldn't get in the way of the gun fire.

He noticed the bullet proof vests the men wore along with the Hydra tattoos lining their arms. He was in deep trouble if they had tracking tech or even alien tech. He was alert and ready as he swung out of campus. He could see from a distance the soldiers beginning to surround it just as he made it out. He knew they would probably use a few students as bait and he had to be ready.

"Karen how far are the Avengers?" Peter asked his AI. It was nice to hear her voice again. He hadn't gone on any patrols since he started college.

"Hello Peter" She said cheerfully. "Avengers did not receive you call"

"what" He nearly shouted.

"I said, Hello Peter, Avengers did not receive your call"

"I know that but what do you mean they did not receive my call"

"Connection lost 60 minutes ago. 40 minutes before the soldiers entered the premises, and 50 minutes before your watch was activated."

"When will connection be back online"

"estimated reconnection time 6 hours and 39 minutes."

Peter was panicking. He was not in the right headspace to fight off these guys, especially with Wanda possibly with them. She wasn't good at defending herself without her powers.

Peter glanced around looking for an idea. Adrenaline was pulsing their his veins and he was taking deeo breaths. That was when it happened. One of the guys started pushing Ned out of one of the holes in the walls that their guns had made. Ned didn't have super strength, a fall from 4 stories up would kill him.

Then Ned was falling and Peter was swinging and it all happened in slow motion.

"Ned!" He screamed and then it was over. He caught Ned and brought him safely to the ground before he felt something be plunged into his neck. Someone called his name but he couldn't reach out to him before the darkness encompassed him.
