Next chapter is here, this one took me a while and I'm sorry. My computer died a few months ago and I've been using my husband's laptop but it's been in use for a while. Finally was able to finish it up.Thank you to everyone who is reading this story.AGAIN-Stephanie Meyer owns all the main characters-I just made them better ;)

Alice POV

"Who is that?" Eleazar asked, curious again. I looked towards Jasper and he looked noticeably angry.

"A nomad we met recently," he said icily, glaring at Edward. "Why would you suggest that?"

"Because it's the only way to make Marcus see the truth." Edward snapped, "we need Aurelia to take Aro's power and give it to Marcus."

"And how do you suggest we pull that off?" Jasper was still tense.

"Back up," Tanya interjected, "someone explain please?"

"We met two nomads that had joined up with Maria. Aurelia and her mate Nicola. Her sister joined the Volturi and they were hoping to join as well. Aurelia's power is… insane. She can basically transfer abilities form one person to another," Emmett filled in the Denali's.

"I thought that was a myth," Kate gasped. Carlisle chuckled.

"So did everyone else apparently."

"But Aro knows of her power?" Eleazar was resting his chin on his hands, his eyes eager now.

"Yes, he wouldn't let her join until she found her mate an ability. It was a...test of sorts," Edward tried to explain.

"How would you suggest we trick Aro then," Garrett chimed in now.

"I'm not sure we can. It would be more of a timing sort of thing," Edward mused. "Could lead to a fight, I'm not sure."

"And you're willing to risk that?" Jasper eyed him again, his voice frigid.

"Aren't you?" Edward challenged. "Renesmee is safe because we provided evidence of how she would grow. But what about Amber or Rosalie's baby?" his voice was raising now. "We've been fighting about this since Alice got pregnant." I saw Jasper's face fall then, he knew Edward was right.

"We've been scared of the Volturi our whole lives," Tanya added, her voice barely audible. "After they killed our mother..." her voice trailed off, pain evident.

"Our kind needs a governing system but I'm not sure they're it," Carlisle noted. "At least not with Aro at the head."

"He killed his own sister, carrying his niece or nephew," I spat, feeling anger rising within me. "He's never going to show us empathy." Amber looked at me, her eyes were filled with worry and sadness.

"Which is why we have to stop him," Edward was fuming now, his voice was dark and his eyes were black. I hadn't seen him this angry in a long time. Bella tried to grab his arm to settle him but he shook her off. "We were cowards when they came before-choosing to let them leave."

"I don't know if we could have stopped them," Eleazar tried to reason with him. "we were mostly outnumbered."

"But we have a secret weapon now," Edward gestured to Amber, smiling darkly.

"No," Jasper growled. "You're not using my daughter as a pawn-as the kingpin for your plot to take down the Volturi."

"She's more powerful than any of us combined," Edward sneered. "She is exactly what we need to stop them. The miracle we've been needing."

"She's just a baby Edward," I stood now, not wanting to fight with my brother, but unable to stop my protective nature from coming through. Amber's eyes were wild darting between the three of us, looking scared. "Why are you always fighting with us,?" I leered, remembering the incident that had us fleeing to a hotel.

"Because you're not thinking of the bigger picture Alice!" He started to lean forward, as if he wanted to pounce on me.

"Edward," Carlisle was calm, trying to reason with him.

"Dad," Even Renesmee's voice only caused a small flicker in his glower.

"No think about it, all of you!" Edward was loud, not yelling, but his tone cut like a knife. "They will never let this go, let our family be in peace. They may have no cause to come to us now but as soon as they find out," he turned his head, thinking deeply about something. He looked to Jasper, taking deep breaths and nodded appreciatively. "I want to live in peace for more than just a few decades at a time." Bella touched his shoulder and he patted her hand,

"As do I son," Carlisle moved closer to Edward now, trying to meet his gaze. "I founded our family with the hope of being able to co-exist with humans. I never wanted us to live in hiding or on the run."

"Edward is right," Eleazar said, "the Volturi have been a threat to all of us for much too long. When do we decide to stop letting them win?"

"We must consider what happens if they fall," Carlisle added. "Marcus will kill Aro I imagine, but I think he will also be so wrought with grief-he may let himself get killed as well."

"And Caius is even more of a tyrant than Aro," Edward sneered.

"Then we kill him too!" Emmett boomed.

"Once the leaders are gone the guard will start to fight each other. With no one at the helm they will fight to rule," Jasper noted.

"What about you Carlisle?" Tanya wondered.

"Oh no, I chose my path for a reason. One of power and politics is not where I belong," he told her gently. Tanya looked glum, but nodded in understanding.

"Do we really need anyone in charge?" Amber asked, her innocence shining in her eyes.

"Unfortunately yes," I told her sighing. "With no one to regulate the more theatric vampires, our secret could be exposed. That wouldn't be good for any of our kind." I started to think about a world where there were no rules. Armies like the kind Jasper had been forced into would be more widespread, newborns would kill without any hesitation or fear. If humans knew, truly knew we existed, it wouldn't take long for them to invent some way to destroy us. Who could be in charge then? We needed someone fair-but powerful. I started to think of Aurelia, the compassion I saw in her eyes when we let them go. Even the Volturi wives, held practically prisoner, while witnessing the heresy of their husbands actions. Would women leaders be any different? My mind couldn't let go of the glimmer I saw in Aurelia, that missing piece from many of the nomads and Volturi members. She was sincere, she cared about more than just power. She only wanted to join the Volturi to be with a family and she only wanted to steal a power so her mate could have one. I saw Edward eying me, I couldn't tell if he approved of my wandering thoughts.

"I think it's perfect," he looked at me squarely, even smiling a little. Everyone else raised their brows, trying to understand the silent conversation. "I read her thoughts and you're right-they were very genuine."

"Who?" Jasper tried to get more information.

"Aurelia," I told him, my voice low. His eyes narrowed, but softened quickly, trying to be open to my ideas.

"Think about it," I addressed everyone now. "We need leaders who are powerful-yes but also compassionate. Someone who cares about family and loyalty and wants to help our kind. The wives, Aurelia, those who want to help our world instead of hurt it." I saw Amber's eyes glaze over and I looked at her intently. Her pupils flickered intensely, and it seemed to go on for much too long.

"There's too many variables," she sighed, looking disappointed in herself. "I can almost always see Aro being defeated, but after that theres hundreds of possibilities."

"But our plan to have Marcus see the truth?" Eleazar asked intently.

"Should work," Amber said confidently, "of course it's never certain," she reminded him with a glance toward me.

"How do we find her?" Kate wondered, looking around, still seeming unsure of this situation.

"Alice?" Edward gestured to me, a half-smile tugging at his lips. I took a breathe, trying to focus. I felt Jasper rubbing my hand with encouragement. I started to see pictures, fuzzy but emerging clearer. Aurelia and Nicola laughing, snow surrounding them in an abandoned cabin. I tried to see any special landmarks. Then I noticed the clock, how it was afternoon and completely dark outside, the large spruce trees that surrounded their hideaway. I couldn't be sure but it looked like somewhere in Norway, someplace very remote.

"Norway," I told them.

"That's an entire country Alice," Rosalie wined, "we can't search an entire country."

"Amber please help to narrow it down," I smiled at her lightly. She nodded, returning my grin and immediately she was seeing something that wasn't here.

"Okay I've got a few places," she started jotting down the key points. "Here," she handed the list to me." Some were exact city names, others just locations described in detail, similar to the vision I'd seen.

"We can start with the named cities then," Jasper glanced over at the list.

"So we should split up?" Tanya suggested, standing and turning for the door.

"Slow down," Edward joked, grabbing her arm before she could leave. "Let's discuss who is going where." She gave an embarrassed smile, and turned to face us all again.

"Sorry I guess I'm just a little eager to get this over with."

"Understandable," Carlisle offered her his sureness.

Carmen and Eleazar were going to Kirkenes, Carlisle and Edward were taking Sandve, Jasper and I were going to Henningsvaer and Kate and Garrett got Avaldsnes. Emmett was upset he couldn't go but Rosalie wouldn't let him, she wasn't going to let him get into any kind of trouble before their baby was born. Tanya, Esme and Bella were staying with the kids. Amber complained too, she knew how potent her abilities were, and she wanted to protect us. Jasper wasn't going to allow that, and I wouldn't let him go alone. After we had been separated when I went with Bella to save Edward-we promised to never put ourselves in that kind of position again. If we were going to face danger, we would do it together. We were about to leave when Amber pulled me back, brought me kneeling beside her.

"I still can't tell who is going to find them, but if you do," she trailed off, placing her hand on my cheek.

Aurelia was surprised to see us, hurt almost, she didn't see what they had done wrong. I tried to reason with them but Nicola got defense. It turned into a fight between Jasper and him. The scene quickly faded, Aurelia was surprised but happy to see us, grateful we let them go and apologetic. Jasper explained everything to her and she agreed to come with us One more scene started playing, Aurelia was grateful to see us, and wanted us to help her get her sister back. She was worried our plan would get her sister killed and didn't want to overthrow Aro. We left empty-handed. I looked up, seeing Amber's worried eyes as she realized there were outcomes that could lead to us getting hurt.

"If we find them, we can convince them," I started into her golden pupils, glistening with concern. "Trust me." She just nodded solemnly, and when I went to join Jasper at the door. She was reluctant to let go of my hand, but Esme pulled her into a side hug. She buried her face into Esme's shoulder and let go of the grip on my hand. Jasper threaded his fingers through mine and we started running. The cold air whipped around my face, it was already starting to darken outside. The snow crunched lightly beneath my quick feet and trees and rocks turned into blurs as we ran. The sky started to plummet into blackness, we had been running in silence for hours, staying clear of any trails or any towns. Jasper never let go of his grasp. We stopped when we reached Skau, a small town on the coast. We decided it would be best to swim from here, there were too many major roads and towns if we tried to cross all of the little islands on foot. Jasper went ahead of me, diving into the sloshing dark water. It was almost frozen, small crystals danced on the surface. Any human would die trying to swim through this channel. I dove in gracefully after Jasper, feeling the water rush around me, the cold was intense but didn't affect me. My eyes adjusted quickly to the new environment. I could see Jasper ahead of me, doing a perfect butterfly stroke as he glided through the water without effort. I couldn't help but smile at his elegant frame and precise movement. I followed him gracefully switching between a backstroke and front stroke, pedaling deeper and dancing through the depths. We glided through, funneling deeper and I started to see creatures who relished in the cold water. Seals passed us occasionally, chasing after small groups of herring. Squids propelled themselves in the water, looking for a meal as well. It was a relatively quick swim and soon we were lifting ourselves ashore. The shore was rocky, ragged and I could see little fishing villages all around us in the distance. Cliffs stretched high into the dark night, and stars filled the clear sky.

"I don't think this is it," I told Jasper disappointedly. The place in my vision was much more green, more of a flat luscious landscape and not so many cliffs and rocky beaches.

"Well we just have to hope whoever finds them can convince them to come," Jasper sighed, ringing out his wet clothes.

Garrett POV

"This place is beautiful," Kate noticed, looking around at the endless fields of green. It was pitch black outside but our cunning eyesight didn't depress the beauty. I took in the landscape, farmer fields and a few small stone buildings could be seen in the distance. Then I saw the trees. Farther ahead of us, a massive forest, spruce trees covered in snow stretched farther than even I could see. I whistled, looking at the vast sea of green in front of us.

"This is going to be a bit harder than I thought," I chuckled lightly to Kate.

"You love mystery" she teased, winking at me playfully.

"I just wish Alice had given us a bit more to work with," I grumbled and started trudging forward. Kate followed without hesitation. "At least we should be able to smell them when we're close. Something tells me this place isn't crawling with vampires."

"I'm surprised they're out here," Kate ruffled her face at the small village, "not many humans to choose from. Seems pretty conspicuous."

"Unless," I started to think but didn't finish my sentence. Jasper had told us he sensed true compassion in this female but our diet of animals wasn't easy to convert to. I was still struggling even with Kate and her sisters to support me. Then again, this was no place for a normal vampire. It was much too desolate. Kate gave

me a puzzled look but didn't push for more information. I crept along stealthily, running at full speed – I didn't want to miss their scent if we crossed it. We continued on in silence for a while, the trees converging around us.

"Now that it's just us," Kate started, seeming hesitant. "What do you think about what Carlisle said?"

"Which part?" I laughed, thinking of the flurry of information my old friend had laid upon us.

"The part about having children," Kate's voice dropped into a whisper. I almost stopped walking, but caught myself, not wanting to seem too awestruck. I composed my face as my mind jumbled with thoughts. I had never really wanted children as a human, and I spent most of my nomadic time looking for danger, mystery, and women. I never even considered settling down until I met Kate. My eyes were soft as I turned to look at her. Her expression was still hesitant, her blonde hair covering half her face.

"The truth?" I sighed, knowing I couldn't lie to her. She nodded, staring ahead now, bracing for the worst. "I'm not sure. It's never something I wanted in this life or my previous one. I never even thought I would get a mate-over two hundred years as a bachelor changes your perspective." I laughed, hoping she would understand my feelings.

"I understand," she finally answered. "It's nice to know there is a chance though. Just in case two more centuries with me changes your mind," she teased.

"I am the luckiest man alive."

"Not sure you can classify us as alive," she continued with the banter.

"You're right, luckiest man period then. No need to leave out the dead ones," I nudged her playfully. We strolled along contently for a few more miles until I halted suddenly. My nose picked up the scent immediately. Two vampires, nearby, their smell unfamiliar. I looked to Kate and she was focused, smelling them as well. I pushed her behind me slightly, and started walking towards it. I knew the two we were looking for would pick up on our scent as well and I wasn't sure how they would react.

"So how are we going to do this?" Kate asked me, a waver in her sweet voice.

"Talk to them?" I couldn't help but grin at my cocky response.

"You know what I mean," she rolled her eyes, "they don't even know us. And her power," Kate shuddered, "I would hate to have her use that on me."

"She won't get to you," I promised, "I told you I would die for you, I mean it. She'll have to get through me if she wants to steal your gift." I remembered being in the baseball clearing with Kate, the Volturi approaching us with their hundreds of witnesses. I was almost certain I was going to die that day, and it was in that moment I realized how much I didn't want to die. I wanted to cling to any time I could get with this beautiful woman. I told her I would follow her anywhere after that, and somehow that had led us trudging through a thin layer of snow in the outermost corner of Norway. We both stopped then, Kate holding onto my jacket hem. The cabin came into view, a boxy shadow in the night. It was small, quaint, no smoke billowing from it's stone chimney. I paused for a moment, thinking about the best way to handle this.

"Just knock," Kate suggested quietly, "anyone trying to ambush them wouldn't be so polite," she laughed almost inaudibly and I couldn't help but smile. We crossed the last few miles over to the cabin and taking a deep breath of unneeded air, I knocked. A man with light brown hair answered the door, Nicola I assumed.

"Yes?" his tone was curious, but not angry.

"My name is Garrett and this is Kate," I gestured to my love standing behind me. "May we come in?" He hesitated, his eyes flitting behind him. I took notice then of his irises. They were red, but not going black, almost turning a bloody orange color. I knew this hue all too well, as my own eyes had looked this way many months ago. It is subtle and many don't even notice it, but it is the beginning of transitioning to a "vegetarian" diet. A woman appeared then, eyeing us carefully. She saw our golden eyes and I saw a range of emotions cross her face. Confusion, wariness, anger, and finally curiosity.

"Do we know you?" her accent was thick but her voice was still smooth and velvety as she spoke.

"No," I answered truthfully, "but we know you. Please, we just want to talk. We mean you no harm." I locked eyes with her, keeping my tone and my eyes sincere. She matched my gaze and held it for a few seconds. She stepped aside, waving her hand towards the little leather chairs set by the unlit fire. "Come in." I pulled Kate in with me, never dropping her hand. I kept her slightly adjacent to me, not wanting Aurelia to have an immediate line to her. Aurelia sat down in the chair to the left and Nicola sat on the arm rest. I followed their lead and Kate perched herself behind me, leaning her arms on the top of the chair.

"I didn't realize there were more of you," Aurelia looked at us, crossing her legs.

"We're not with Carlisle per-say. We think of his family as our cousins," Kate answered.

"Because of the eyes?" Nicola assumed, gesturing to us. We both nodded, giving a tiny smile.

"I can't help but notice your eyes," I treaded carefully but was genuinely curious. Aurelia looked taken aback, surprised I noticed the subtly. "I am new to this life as well, my eyes were like yours not too long ago." She relaxed, even grinned slightly at my admission.

"I never thought I could do it," she started, looking down at the floor, "Maria told us about it, she acted as if it was deplorable. But I've always wanted to live in peace. Not on the run, not constantly seeking out humans. I just wish I could have a family too."

"That's why you wanted to join the Volturi?" I probed, trying to understand.

"Yes, you have to understand we never heard stories about covens like yours. My sister and I were changed by a power-hungry vampire. He recognized our gifts even as humans and thought he could get a seat in the Volturi by bringing us to Aro. He was cocky though, always getting into fights. He got into it with a vampire who was much stronger than him- I know now that was Felix. He was sent, along with Demetri to look for us. We watched him get ripped apart, and we ran. We really did want to be normal, we had been abandoned at birth, so we had no family to miss. We didn't want to be found. We didn't know about Demetri's gift. He kept finding us, and we kept fleeing. That's when I met Nicola. She looked over at him with adoration. He's been a part of this life much longer than I have, changed during one of the battles in Italy." I raised my eyebrows at this, complete surprise that a vampire over 1000 years old would be willing to change to this lifestyle. Nicola returned my surprised with a smile.

"When you go a millennium alone, without a mate, trust me-you would do some crazy things as well." He beamed down at her. "I thought I was broken. I know our kind doesn't always find a mate but I longed for one. I watched my friends find their loves, even the Volturi found wives. I passed through many covens, many towns, saw many women come and go but I never felt it," he seemed frustrated just remembering it all. "Not until I saw Aurelia." He grabbed her arm, rubbing it gently.

"We got some time alone, five or so years of evading Demetri. They finally caught up to us though. They took my sister without any hesitation, but weren't pleased I had found a mate. Someone who had fought against them in their wars. That's where the test came in." She hung her head in shame and Nicola squeezed her arm gently.

"They wanted her to steal a power for me, prove her gift, prove her worthiness," his teach clenched. "We ended up running into Mateo who said Maria could help us steal a power from a family who had several talented members."

"I'm sure you all heard how that went," Aurelia chuckled darkly. "She also told us they were weak because they only drank animal blood and that we could help her overtake them. She knew about the child but, she had no idea how powerful she was." Her face turned paler as she recalled what they went through that day.

"Amber was only protecting her family," Kate offered, trying to console her. "And Alice and Jasper are the ones who told us they saw compassion and change within you. They knew you weren't corrupt on the inside."

"The girl's parents sent you?" Aurelia looked skeptical again.

"Their whole family did," I interjected. "We have a bit of a problem with the Volturi and they thought you might be able to help." She laughed without humor.

"No one can stop them. You don't think I've thought of that?"

"I think if any has a chance to change things it's you," I tried again to convince her. "Your power is, well I would guess it's partially why Aro was so upset you found a mate. He couldn't bind you to them as easily. And that makes you a threat. You have the ability to steal Aro's ability of sight. His one advantage as a leader. You can take it away like that," I snapped my finger for emphasis.

"But he's so protected, he has personal bodyguards," she continued her denial.

"We would help you of course," I offered. "We didn't come here to ask you to face them alone. We recently found out some information, that we think will cause the Volturi to collapse upon itself."

"What kind of information?" Nicola was curious, his eyes intent.

"Well it turns out Aro knew about vampires being able to have children. His own sister was with child when he killed her," I grimaced, still disgusted by Aro.

"Didyme?" Nicola gasped in surprise. "I've heard the rumors that Aro was involved in her death but," he trailed off, his lips pursed.

"He was responsible, not only for her death but that of her child," Kate said.

"Can you tell us more about that?" Aurelia asked sheepishly. "Can anyone have children?"

"No," Kate told her solemnly. "Carlisle explained to us the many roadblocks. Anyone is welcome to try, but certain biological features must be in place. On top of that, specific-altering-injuries must be sustained to give our bodies a chance." Aurelia looked saddened by her explanation. "Trust me, I've been thinking about it ever since I found out as well."

"So with Didyme it was an accident then?" Nicola pondered. "And for the Cullen as well?"

"For Alice and Jasper yes," Kate answered, "Rosalie and Emmett were the first to recreate it on purpose." They both snapped up at her with wide eyes.

"Kate," I hissed so low only she could hear. She waved me off, and continued.

"If you're going to help us you need to know. Yes, one of the other Cullen's is pregnant. The blonde one, Rosalie."

"She wasn't afraid?" Aurelia asked. "You said yourself the injuries can be life altering."

"Rosalie is… different. Sure, now that the possibility is here a lot of us have thrown around the idea of having a child but for her-it was everything. She would trade anything for it," Kate tried to explain Rosalie's desire.

"Even immortality?" Nicola raised his brow.

"In a second," Kate replied without hesitation. "For her there was no question of if she would try, only if it would work."

"And it did?" It was a rhetorical question, and Aurelia's face was warm.

"So what exactly is the plan with Aro?" Nicola redirected the conversation.

"We were hoping that if Aurelia could steal Aro's power and give it to Marcus, he could see what Aro did. He would hopefully kill Aro, and I would imagine be so wrought with grief he wouldn't mind dying in the aftermath."

"And Caius?" Aurelia asked.

"We can take care of him, with only one leader left-a powerless one, it shouldn't be difficult. Amber will be quite an ally against them," I assured them.

"Do you think your sister will help?" Kate's eyes were pleading.

"Aurora?" Aurelia slightly scoffed at the idea. "If you'd have asked me back then, before the Volturi I would have no doubt in my mind. But even since she joined them, it's like I'm not even her sister. She's so,"

"Bound to them?" I interrupted. "It's like I said before, that's why the binding didn't work on you as he hoped. Your love for Nicola was too strong. Chelsea is a guard member. Her power of breaking and making emotional ties is how Aro gets his followers to be so loyal to him. Her gift has limits though, and unbinding mates is something she can't do."

"But family?" Aurelia looked down, her eyes saddened.

"It depends, but yes. It's more work for her and it isn't always successful. It's usually easier if the bond hasn't been around as long." I explained.

"If we destroy Chelsea the bonds should be broken," Nicola theorized.

"You really think we have a chance against them?" Aurelia asked again.

"I know it. We just need a way to get them here without much of an audience. Just the important members. We want to fight on our own terms, not theirs," I explained strategically. They both looked at each other, a silent conversation as their eyes flickered with emotion. She sighed finally turning back to Kate and I.

"We will help you. I want my sister back, and I don't want Aro in charge any more than you do." I smiled standing up, holding Kate's hand.

"I hope you're up for a swim," I chuckled, heading for the door. They both laughed lightly, following us out into the night.

Rosalie POV

"They found them!" Amber exclaimed excitedly.

"Who?" I rushed over to her side, her eyes full of joy, not worry.

"Kate and Garrett, they're bringing them back," she seemed content to find an answer, after hours of searching the future.

"Mom and Dad are on their way home, and Garrett will call the others to let them know he was successful," her eyes were flickering quickly, watching the scenes play out.

"That's wonderful dear,"Esme came to join us in Amber's room. I had been staying with her, trying to console her as she desperately tried to see the outcome of the search. She leaned back, a smile playing at her lips. Her head fell on my lap, placing her hands on my bump. I looked at her curiously, her angelic face glowed with happiness.

"I'm showing the baby our family," she told me, answering my thoughts. "I was able to see everyone through my powers, I want h-," she stopped and giggled. "I mean the baby to be know our family in the same way." My heart swelled with pride, staring down at my niece and growing belly- the unconditional love was almost too much to bear.

"Did she slip?" Emmett came into the other room, grinning. "I thought I heard her call the baby something."

"Almost," I laughed, rubbing Amber's back, "but no luck."

"Damn," Emmett mumbled. I swatted his calf lightly, and he frowned down at me. "Sorry I know; language."

"How do you know the baby can see what you're showing it?" I asked her curiously. I knew when she showed one of us, we went into a trance like state; zoned out like her and Alice get when they are seeing the future.

"It's hard to explain, but when I'm sharing my visions with someone I feel a connection, like a magnetic pull." Her eyes were still closed and she moved her hands around to the right side of my belly. I felt the kick, right where her hands went. I knew it should have been painful, and I was so grateful Amber was helping me. Instead of pain there was only a tiny bit of pressure, a small cramp as I felt my baby kicking. My eyes felt glossy with tears that couldn't fall, and I put my hands over Amber's. It was only a tiny bit of pain she was relieving but I could tell it was still straining her. She relaxed; the kick was over.

"Thank you," I whispered to her.

"Next time let me feel too," Emmett laughed, kneeling to sit down beside us. I rested my head on his shoulder, running my hands through Amber's curls.

"This is nice," I commented. Amber went rigid suddenly, her eyes opened and darting erratically.

"What is it?" Emmett asked, leaning down protectively,

"Edward."

Edward POV

"Thanks Garrett," I hung up the phone, sighing. I was glad that Garrett and Kate had found the nomads, but miffed at our long journey back.

"Ready to go back?' Carlilse asked, staring down at the dark, icy water next to him.

'Maybe we should hunt first?" I suggested.

"Do you think we can mind much out here?" his eyes surveyed the rollings hills and grass covered in frost.

"Maybe in the water," my eyes glistened at the hope of finding a whale or seal. Carlisle gave a small smile, and turned to me. As we were above to dive into the water, I heard footsteps. Several miles out, but they were coming closer. The scent was strong, another vampire, familiar but not pleasant.

"Demetri," my eyes turned black, and I turned to see the cloaked figure walking toward us. He was alone, which was unusual and I couldn't help but think this was our chance to kill him; and possibly the Volturi's reason to come try to kill us.

I know this was more of a "filler" chapter but I hope you all enjoyed it. The big climax is coming. I didn't realize that my Volturi idea was turning into a similar thing as in the genderbent Twilight because I never read about it until now. Whoops. HAHA.
