Heads-up: I'm going to start writing in past-tense from now on, instead of present-tense.
Weiss sat alone in the cargo hold of the ship, staring out the small window. Around the ship were a myriad of floating chunks of land, held aloft by large chunks of gravity Dust. It was a mesmerizing sight. "If only Aris were here to see this," Weiss thought.
She got up from her spot and went back to the cockpit, where her pilot was. "Where are we?" she questioned.
"Not anywhere we want to be," said the pilot. "We're passing by some of Lake Matsu's floating islands. The gravity Dust that keeps them in the air is giving us a little turbulence to contend with. It's nothing I can't handle, but the islands do sometimes hide some nasty Grimm. I'm just hoping our friends in distress can keep them occupied."
Weiss looked out the window to her right. "Look out!"
The pilot pulled up just in time as a passenger airship, blazing with flames and smoke, careened through the air in front of his ship. The passenger ship crashed into one of the floating islands with a resounding boom.
"Oh, you've gotta be kidding me," sighed the pilot.
Another broadcast rang out over the radio. "By the gods, we've lost Terry! Help!"
Weiss and the pilot looked out the window. Outside, another passenger airship was being chased down by a swarm of large insectile Grimm. Several of these Grimm shot tethered stingers into the ship's hull, tugging on it with aggressive force. "We're hooked!" cried the voice over the radio. "We're hooked! Everyone abandon ship!"
At that moment, the ship exploded. The insect Grimm noticed the cargo ship and began making a beeline for it.

"Lancers," said the pilot. "Fucking LANCERS!" He looked over his shoulder. "Alright, buckle up-wait, what?"
Weiss had disappeared below the cockpit.
"What are you doing?" Weiss heard the pilot say over an intercom as she grabbed Myrtenaster.
"I'm doing what we should've done in the first place!" Weiss said. "You're hauling Dust in this ship, right?"
"Well, not officially," said the pilot. "But, yes."
Weiss opened one of the crates in the cargo hold, revealing a set of neatly assembled Dust vials. "On my signal, open the rear door!" The former heiress began loading Dust vials into the revolving chamber on Myrtenaster.
"Better make it quick!" said the pilot as he gunned the ship's engines to flee the Lancers.
The insectile Grimm gained on the ship rather quickly, barely missing it with their stingers. "Kid, we're cutting it close!" exclaimed the pilot.
Weiss readied Myrtenaster as a spinning glyph appeared beneath her feet. "Open sesame!"
The cargo bay door opened, wind blasting into the hold. Weiss's glyph kept her from flying out into the swarm of Lancers.
One of the Lancers fired its stinger at Weiss. The former heiress swung Myrtenaster. "Hyah!"
An arch of wind blasted into the Lancers, slowing them down a bit. Myrtenaster's Dust chamber spun, switching to some fire Dust. Weiss cast a volley of fireballs at the Lancers. "I hope you like extra spicy meatballs!" she exclaimed.
"Ha-ha!" the pilot whooped, noticing what Weiss was doing. "Hold on, kid!"
Weiss switched to some ice Dust, knocking the Lancers out of the sky one by one with beams of frozen energy.
Suddenly, the ship quaked. "What was that?" said Weiss.
"We're hooked!" said the pilot. Behind Weiss, a Lancer's stinger protruded through the ceiling of the cargo hold. "Wait, I have an idea! Hold on! Literally!"
The pilot steered the ship directly towards one of the floating islands as the Lancers atop the ship continued to slowly gnaw away. Just before the ship crashed into the island ahead, the pilot shoved the steering yoke forward, the ship suddenly jolting downward towards the water as the Lancers flew off and crashed into the island.
"Aw yeah!" Weiss heard the pilot whoop over the intercom as the ship steadied itself.
"Try to find a pair of islands we can fit between!" Weiss called out.
"Kid, you're reading my mind!" the pilot laughed joyously.
The pilot weaved the ship between a pair of islands. Weiss cast more fireballs at one of the cliffs on either side of the ship, chunks of earth raining down on the remaining Lancers. The ship burst out from between the islands with no more Lancers in pursuit.

"Woohoo!" the pilot cheered. "Great going, kiddo! We're in the clear!"
Weiss breathed a sigh of relief.
Suddenly, more buzzing. Weiss looked outside.
BGM: Star Wolf - Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Another insectile Grimm was now in hot pursuit of the ship. This was no ordinary Lancer.
"Queen Lancer!" Weiss cried.
"What?!" exclaimed the pilot.
Weiss thrust Myrtenaster forward, firing four powerful beams of icy energy at the Queen Lancer. The Grimm was unfazed, and countered with a torrent of small stinger-like projectiles. The stingers rained down on the ship, causing it to jolt. "Do something!" cried the pilot.
Weiss leaped behind the Dust crates, using a set of glyphs to hurl them out at the Queen Lancer. An explosion of fire, lightning, and ice rocked the massive Grimm.
Just when Weiss thought the Grimm was dead, the Queen Lancer shot out from the cloud of smoke, seemingly unfazed.
"I can see the shoreline!" the pilot called out. "Gods, we're not gonna make it!"
Weiss twirled Myrtenaster, driving the rapier into the floor beneath her. In front of her, a slightly different glyph appeared. From wisps of pale blue light, a massive, armored figure appeared.
"Pull up, now!" Weiss exclaimed.
The pilot did just that, sending the ship directly towards the heavens above.
The tall knight leaped from the cargo hold, a massive sword appearing in its hand as it dove down towards the Queen Lancer. The pilot straightened the ship again, flying parallel to the ground. Weiss's knight began jumping from glyph to glyph, slashing at the Queen Lancer with its mighty blade. The gargantuan insect Grimm shot its stinger at the ship, taking out one of the tail fins on the back. At that moment, the knight finished the Queen Lancer with one final blow. Both Grimm and knight disappeared in the wind.
End BGM
Inside the ship, an alarm blared. Smoke streamed from the remains of one of the four tail fins as the ship began to lose altitude. Weiss knew what she had to do.
The former heiress readied her rapier, casting glyphs in the path of the ship's descent. The glyphs began to slow the ship down as it careened towards the shoreline below.
The cargo ship crashed into the woods with a mighty bang.
Meanwhile...
"What was that?" said Takashi.
"What was what?" asked Raylo.
"I heard a bang," Takashi explained. "And felt the ground shake a little."
Lucina pointed towards the sky in the distance. "I saw something. It looked like some sort of aircraft that was about to crash-land."
"Then that was probably it," Aris said. "All in favor of going to investigate?"
The decision was unanimous. The Hylian lead team AWLT towards the direction from which the sound had originated.
Turns out, the ship had crashed really far away from the group. The sun was almost finished setting upon their arrival to the crash site.
In a small crater, a smoking aircraft lay still. "We should check for survivors," Raylo suggested.
Aris nodded. "Definitely."
Team AWLT searched through the wreck.
One search later...
"No joy," Aris sighed.
"I didn't find anything," said Takashi.
"Me neither," said Raylo.
"No luck for me," Lucina added. "We should probably head back to camp before nightfall."
"Agreed," said Takashi.
Team AWLT made their way back to their temporary base of operations.
