Saturday August 14th 2021

Jamie and Eddie were both off today. They were making Sunday dinner so they had to run a few errands to get stuff for that.

"Oh I almost forgot we can introduce her to cereal the doctor said!" Eddie remembered as Jamie loaded a box of diapers into the cart.

"Yeah? Well where's that at?" He asked and they walked around to the baby food shelves.

"Wow." Eddie said looking at it all the different kinds of foods and snacks. It was overwhelming. Even just the baby cereal had about 10 options!? Eddie immediately was overwhelmed and didn't know what to get.

"You sure they didn't give you any kind of instruction manual when we brought her home?" Jamie asked joking.

"Ha...I wish. What the hells the difference between this one and this one?" Eddie asked putting them side by side. Jamie was just as clueless.

"I don't know Janko, let's just get one and see what happens?" He suggested. Eddie just picked one and they went on their way.

"I think she needs to be changed..." Eddie said smelling something foul coming from the car seat.

"I don't smell anything." Jamie said as they stood in the produce section while he was bagging fresh tomatoes.

"You don't smell that!?" Eddie said surprised because she would put money on the whole store smelling it. Jamie shook his head no and then walked over to stand where she was.

"Oh. Yeah that's bad. Haha." Jamie said and walked away from it.

"Yeah see." Eddie said unbuckling her and taking her out of the car seat.

"Come on stinker..." Eddie said putting Alaina up in her shoulder. Jamie handed her the diaper bag and she walked off to the restrooms.

"Good luck." Jamie said watching her walk away. Eddie turned around with a fake smile, Jamie laughed and winked at her.

Jamie was waiting in a long checkout line when he saw Eddie come out of the bathroom.

"Eddie." Jamie called out to flag her down where he was but she didn't hear him.

"Janko" Jamie yelled louder and then she looked.

"Oh, was I that long?" She asked putting Lainey back in the car seat.

"No you're good." He said.

"It was almost up her back which had me thinking...maybe she needs the next size diaper." Eddie said.

"There's sizes!?" Jamie said shocked.

"Ha...yeah! She's in newborn diapers I think she needs size 1." Eddie said laughing and taking the box of diapers out that they got earlier. Jamie had no idea they're were sizes when it came to a baby verses a toddler. He just never really gave it much thought.

"Jamie...these are size 3!" Eddie pointed out.

"I didn't know there were different sizes I just saw pampers with a baby on the box!" He said laughing and shrugging his shoulders.

"Oh my god...hahaha" Eddie laughed and walked away to go switch out the boxes.

After they checked out they made their way to the car.

"It is beautiful today!" Eddie said observing the sun shining, blue skies, a nice breeze.

"Yeah, we should go for a run through the park later." Jamie suggested.

"Eh can we just compromise and go for a walk? Oo! Can we have a picnic!? Like bring a blanket and sit in the grass!" Eddie said getting excited.

"I mean none of that is compromising to going on a run but sure." He laughed and she hit him in the arm playfully. They got to their car and started loading the groceries in. Eddie got Alaina in the car awhile and soon they were headed back home.

"Lainey...oh my goodness..." Eddie said over the crying of their very unhappy baby.

"Is she hungry?" Jamie asked as they sat in some traffic.

"Yeah but I thought we'd be back in time for her to eat." Eddie said unbuckling to reach back and put her binky back in her mouth.

"Shhh.." Eddie tried to calm her down but she was just getting louder when she realized the binky was not food. Eddie turned back around in her seat.

"Just hop back and feed her, we're in traffic." Jamie said as the car was at a complete stop. Eddie got out and quick jumped in the back seat. She whipped her boob out and shoved her nipple in the babies mouth while she still sat in her car seat. She stopped crying immediately, after 3 minutes of their ears ringing it was finally peaceful.

"Wow, someone's hungry." Jamie laughed and adjusted the rearview mirror to see Eddie.

"Really?" Eddie said and he laughed.

"What it's a free show?" He joked.

"Oh you're lucky I can't reach you or I'd hit you." Eddie gave him an eye but smiled. Jamie just laughed.

"How tinted are these windows?" Eddie wondered.

"You're fine babe. You think you're gonna get arrested?" Jamie joked.

"No I just don't need an audience." She said.

"No one can see in don't worry." Jamie assured her.

When they got home and all the groceries in the apartment, Eddie put Alaina down in the bouncy seat and then packed a little lunch to go on a picnic. Jamie set up the stroller and repacked the diaper bag. 10 minutes later they went on their walk and had a picnic in the park.

A few hours later Jamie was helping Eddie dinner prep for tomorrow. Alaina was taking a nap in her room for the past 2 hours but starting to fuss.

"Ooo! Yay! We can try and give her cereal!" Eddie said putting down the potato she was in the middle of peeling.

"Oh yeah..." Jamie said smiling that she went off so excited. He stopped what he was doing too though to see how she ate it.

"Alright girlfriend. Here Jamie, you put her in the chair and I'll make it." Eddie gave her to Jamie.

"Eddie what chair? The high chair isn't put together yet?" Jamie asked.

"No I know just the bumbo chair, set it on the table." Eddie said mixing up the cereal. While Jamie did that.

"Alrighty here goes nothing." Eddie said walking over to her and Jamie. She put a little on the spoon and touched it to her lips.

"Haha" Jamie laughed at the face she made.

"Mmm yum..." Eddie said trying to put some in her mouth and encourage it.

"Uh I don't know..." Jamie said with an unsure face watching her face of disgust.

"You can't be negative, you have to smileee and be happyyy." Eddie said in a baby voice to Jamie putting a little more in her mouth.

"Say yummy yummy daddy" Eddie said still in her baby voice.

"Mhm yummy..." Jamie said even though he could she wasn't too sure. Eddie kept giving it to her and she kept getting it down. Jamie went back to peeling potatoes while Eddie finished up feeding her.

"Okayyy one more bite..." Eddie told her scooping it up.

"You should make her more." Jamie suggested watching her put the last of it in her mouth.

"Yeah I could-" Eddie stopped talking when Alaina started gagging on the cereal.

"Uh-" Jamie said scared.

"Oh, geez!" Eddie patted her back and used her finger to dig the rest out. She went from gagging to crying.

"Aww I'm sorry sweetie! You're okay though." Eddie walked away to rinse her finger off. Wanting to get her out, snuggle her and clean her up. But Jamie beat her to it he pulled her right out of the bumbo.

"I know, what did mommy do...huh?" He said trying to stop her from crying, bouncing her, and loving on her.

"Huh! I didn't try to!" Eddie said going over to see her.

"Give her to me" Eddie felt bad and held her hands out, Jamie handed her over.

"Oh I know baby. I'm sorry..." she said walking around bouncing her.

"I think you should let me feed her." Jamie said watching Eddie try and comfort her.

"Tell you what. You make the cereal you can." Eddie said with a wink. He picked up the container and started reading the directions.

I think they worked very well together in this chapter, they balance each other well.
