Hello hello!
Welcome back to 'Soundwave is in desperate need of love and affection and Blaster is more than happy to provide all of it' hour. This chapter is pure fluffy fluff... but there is a very very brief acknowledgement of past abuse.

These characters are not mine, I am just playing around with them. Enjoy!

Soundwave couldn't sleep. The telepath stared at the ceiling above his berthroom as he mused over his predicament. There was nothing disturbing that was keeping him up… in fact he had nothing taxing on his mind at all. Rather, Soundwave found himself floating in a most unusual and euphoric state. How bizarre.

At first, Soundwave had fallen asleep just fine. After concluding their first date, Soundwave and Blaster had joined their creations to watch a few evening cartoons. The blue mech couldn't recall what exactly the cartoons were about, all he could remember was the feeling of his helm on Blaster's shoulder. At some point, he must have drifted off.

By the time Soundwave regained consciousness, he was tucked into his own berth, and rather alone too. It couldn't have been terribly long since he dropped away into recharge on Blaster's arm; a glance out the window confirmed that the moon was still high in the night sky. It wasn't until Soundwave extended his telepathy out to the living room of their quarters that he located the sleeping minds of all ten creations. Apparently, they were in the mood for a sleepover. The telepath smiled to himself. Last time the cassettes planned a sleepover, they had gone the whole nine yards. A blanket fort was constructed in the living room, goodies were attained, and a list of movies were selected for the night. Soundwave had a feeling that this sleepover was very much the same.

After locating his cassettes, Soundwave was able to relax back into his berth. It was only then that he found himself enveloped in a sickly-sweet cloud of emotions. Blaster loved him. The idea struck him over the helm as he turned to lay on his side. He loved Blaster… that part really threw him for a loop. Before long, the telepath found himself wrapped tightly in new feelings of excitement, joy, fondness, and warmth… with a pinch of nervousness. After basking in the glow for a long moment, Soundwave discovered the other emotion that he had been feeling since he woke up alone in his berth.

Loneliness.

Having such a large berth all to himself wasn't a common practise for Soundwave. Sometimes he technically had the berth to himself, with his cassettes tucked away in his docks… but that was different. His creations were still tucked up against his spark; he could envelop them in his field and feel their sleepy presence. This was totally different. The berth felt so much larger and colder when he had it all to himself.

For a moment, Soundwave pondered as to why Blaster left him here alone. He certainly wouldn't mind sleeping alongside his friend… boyfriend now. If anything, sleeping in the same berth would feel more natural, as a new level of intimacy had been established between them. The cassette player had a strong suspicion that Blaster was just as lonely in his empty berth as Soundwave was in his.

It wasn't long before Soundwave figured out why he was alone in his berth. Blaster was always a considerate mech, especially in regard to Soundwave's feelings and comfort level. Blaster had carried Soundwave to his berth, while the telepath was already deep in recharge. Of course, Blaster wouldn't climb right in alongside his boyfriend without asking. Soundwave huffed and curled up on himself tighter; Blaster would obviously leave him alone in his berth because he didn't want to overstep with un-established levels of intimacy.

"'Oh Blaster" Soundwave mumbled to himself.

Soundwave was jerked out of his half-daze when he received a message from a new contact number. He sat up in berth as he opened the message. It was from Starscream.

::I've thought about your suggestion. I'm in. I'll look around and check for interest among the troops. Will keep you updated -SS::

Soundwave smiled to himself. Primus, it was happening. He leaned back to thump his helm against the headboard. They were taking underground actions to attempt to end the war. Starscream was siding with him… with the Autobots. He let out a long-compressed breath. This was a huge gamechanger. This grabbed the entire civil war, shook it up, and placed it upon its head. Megatron's original top two officers were finally working in collaboration. However, they were working together against Megatron himself.

Soundwave quickly composed a reply for the seeker.

::I am glad to hear of your interest. I will pass on news of your involvement and be in touch. -SW::

The ping of acknowledgement in reply was all the telepath needed. This was truly happening. Before he could forget, Soundwave sent a quick message to Optimus.

::I received a response from Starscream. He's interested in a collaboration -Soundwave::

He left it at that and marked it as non-urgent. He didn't wish to wake the Prime if he was already in recharge. There would be time enough to worry about the next steps. They would need to arrange a meeting and establish a safe way to communicate with Starscream. It was going to be a lot of work… but it could pay off in a way that no other tactic had before.

With that all out of the way, Soundwave let his processor dismiss the subject. There was much to do, but he couldn't do anything more now. Over-thinking about it would only keep him from resting peacefully.

Soundwave gave a weary sigh and let his optics drift around the empty room. He shivered and pulled the blankets up to his shoulders. His telepathy could sense Blaster's processor just down the hall. It seemed that his roommate… boyfriend… was still awake.

It confused Soundwave to no end how he could possibly miss a mech who was just across a hallway. Yet he did. Soundwave didn't last another minute before he finally tossed off his covers and slipped out into the hallway. Tonight was simply not a night to be alone.

Blaster was surprised when the gentle knock came from his door, but he certainly wasn't disappointed. He pushed himself up on his elbows and whispered, "come in". He couldn't resist the smile on his faceplates when a very shy looking Soundwave let himself in.

"Hey" Blaster murmured to the blue mech. Soundwave gave a small nod in reply as he gingerly slid the door shut behind him. "You okay?" Blaster asked in the same soft voice. As glad as he was to see Soundwave coming to him again, the last few times the telepath searched for his night-time company was after a nightmare. He watched as Soundwave nodded insistently.

"I am well" Soundwave found himself uncertain of where to stand, he awkwardly clasped his servos in front of him. He then changed his mind and crossed his arms over his frame. It was cold without his blankets. He glanced up at Blaster, who was still smiling at him with those warm optics. Instantly, Soundwave looked away again.

"Thank you for moving me to my berth" Soundwave said, "that was very sweet".

Blaster hummed, "Aw, I just didn't want to wake ya, 'Wave. The only sweet thing there was how content you looked in recharge".

Soundwave smiled down at his peds as he struggled to maintain some composure.

"Would you mind if I slept here, tonight?" Soundwave asked timidly.

"Feelin' lonely?" Blaster murmured. He watched as Soundwave nodded, "yeah, me too" he smiled.

Warmth flooded through Blaster's chestplates. He truly couldn't be more pleased. He shifted over to create room for his boyfriend and pulled back the covers. With an inviting pat to the berth, he grinned "well come on over here then".

Soundwave hesitated as a sudden nervousness flooded his tanks. Was it possible that he had sent out the wrong idea? Now that they were dating, would sharing a berth mean that Blaster would expect interfacing? He froze after a step towards the berth. Of course, entering a relationship with Blaster meant that he would wish to be that intimate with the orange mech one day… Soundwave just wasn't sure if he was ready for that yet. He was only just getting used to Blaster's romantic company. Their first "date" (which was spent together as friends) was only a handful of hours ago. Not to mention how much Soundwave needed to adjust to the intensity of Blaster's feelings. The orange mech felt very strongly towards him. The few times Soundwave used his telepathy to glimpse into Blaster's feelings towards him, it felt akin to squinting directly at the sun. Of course, Soundwave had strong feelings for Blaster too; but Blaster had developed his love for Soundwave some time ago. He had plenty of time to nurture those emotions into a strong blaze of love. Soundwave was only just starting his kindling, by comparison. If the moment called for it, and Blaster expected to interface right now, Soundwave could possibly stoke up that flame a bit more… but it would still feel premature.

Blaster watched as Soundwave hesitated and froze standing next to the berth. The orange mech reached out and gently clasped his servo around Soundwave's. Jarred from his emotional calculating, Soundwave jerked his helm up to meet Blaster's optics.

"It's nothing like that" Blaster assured. A soft flush gathered on the orange mech's faceplates, "I don't want to give ya' the wrong idea, 'Wave. I don't expect anything more than maybe cuddling at most right now… if you're into that. We can even just sleep next to each other, if you prefer". He hummed; his processor momentarily dipped into his curiosity about Soundwave's dark past. Just as quickly, he dismissed his more morbid worries as he said, "I want you to know that you never need to feel pressured to give me anything or do anything for me… at any point… even a million years from now".

Soundwave's worried faceplates twisted into a cocktail of relief, embarrassment, and happiness. "Thank you, Blaster" he whispered as he finally allowed himself to slip into the berth, "you're so considerate, thank you".

Blaster hummed and shook his helm. His tanks twisted just the slightest amount at the idea that Soundwave found it considerate when he wasn't being pressured into something. "I just care about you" he sighed.

Soundwave smiled and wiggled himself down into the berth. "I love you" he whispered.

Blaster grinned, "I love you, too" he reached over to trace an endearing servo over Soundwave's cheek.

The telepath inched closer; their fields mingled for a moment before converging together. His amber optics flickered quietly over Blaster's faceplates, they lingered on the orange mech's lips for a moment. Blaster smiled and took the hint. He leaned in and pressed a sweet kiss to his awaiting love. Soundwave sighed with contentment and let his arms lazily drape over Blaster's frame. He naturally turned his helm to meet each of Blaster's kisses. Another pleased sigh bubbled past his lips as Blaster pulled back to press soft kisses on his faceplates. His expression screwed up into a scrunched smile as Blaster brushed his lips along his nose and forehelm.

"Blaster" Soundwave laughed softly.

Blaster chuckled and let his fingers gingerly graze over Soundwave's cheek again. The telepath watched him with affectionate optics; his optic's golden glow warmed the room.

Blaster sighed and shook his helm in disbelief, "you're so beautiful".

Soundwave's optics brightened and flickered with surprise. His faceplates warmed and took on a pink flush; it took all of Blaster's self-will to not lean in and pepper more kisses over those blushing cheeks.

"Thank you" Soundwave whispered, "I've always found you to be very handsome". Blaster squirmed with glee and pulled Soundwave into another kiss. The telepath smiled and buried his heated faceplates into the crook of Blaster's neck. As pleasant as they were, Blaster's ministrations were almost overwhelming.

Naturally finding a more comfortable position, Blaster rolled to lay on his dorsa. Soundwave immediately followed Blaster over to rest his helm on an orange shoulder. Pleased with Soundwave's interest in cuddling, Blaster twined his arms around Soundwave's frame. It felt natural.

A moment passed as Soundwave adjusted himself into a more comfortable position in Blaster's embrace. It was very foreign, being held this way. Of course, Blaster had held Soundwave like this before… but it was unintended and for a very short period of wakefulness. No one had bothered to hold Soundwave in this way before. It was unusual, but very welcome.

One of Blaster's servos started to stroke up along Soundwave's dorsa. Soundwave gave a bubbly sigh of contentment. No wonder his cassettes always wanted for him to rub their backs… it felt amazing.

"Comfy?" Blaster murmured against the top of Soundwave's helm.

"Very" Soundwave slurred. Blaster's chest rumbled with amusement under Soundwave's audio. He would have laughed too, but he was far too relaxed.

Soundwave smiled to himself. He could definitely get used to this. He attempted to will himself to stay awake for a while longer. Pressed into his boyfriend's frame, with Blaster's warm arms holding him snugly and that soothing servo rubbing his dorsa, Soundwave didn't want to fall asleep. He wanted to stay awake so he could enjoy this for longer. Yet sleep claimed him almost immediately.
