Chapter 25: Proposal
A typical day in the household, but this time Danny has something in mind to do today and he has for quite a while. Baez was on day tour, so he drove down to the Precinct and went up to the Squad.
"Hey beautiful." Danny said as he tapped her shoulder.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" Baez asked and they shared a kiss.
"Let's go for lunch." Danny said with a big smile which made Baez suspicious.
"Okay let's go." Baez answered and they both exited the building and walked across the street to the diner. After they had a bite both decided to go on a walk on Central Park since Baez's tour was over.
"So, what's up?" Baez aksed.
"What do you mean?" Danny asked confused.
"You got a big smile, you planned something didn't you?" Baez asked looking at him.
"Can't a guy just be happy?" Danny asked with the same smile.
"Okay, sure. Mhm." Baez answered and they both continued to walk until they reached a beautiful spot in the park.
"Can you take a picture of us?" Danny asked a person who had a camera, it wasn't random tho. Danny hired a professional photographer to take pictures of what Danny was about to do.
"Yeah sure." The photographer said.
"Smile for the camera." Danny said as Baez turned to the camera and Danny got on one knee and took out the ring.
"Okay, done." The photographer said and Baez turned to Danny. At first, she didn't knew what he was doing but then it hit her, he is proposing and she started having tears rolling down her cheek.
"What are you doing?" Baez asked.
"Proposing to you, what are you doing?" Danny asked with a laugh.
"I am having happy tears." Baez answered with a smile.
"So here it goes. The first time I looked at you after Linda died you were a beacon of hope to me and after our first kiss, you became much more than hope. You became my new life and when you said yes to moving with me that made me so happy but now, I want to make you my wife. So, Maria Baez will you marry me?" Danny asked.
"Yes, I will marry you." Baez answered. Danny got up and placed the ring in her finger and they shared a kiss and they took their pictures taken.
