AMY POV
Rouge applies the deep red lip stick onto my mouth as I failed multiple times to do so. She moves down to my bottom lip she applies it carefully. My leg starts to shake, and Rouge tells me to stop so I won't mess her up.
"Ugh! I can't stop shaking my leg! I am so excited." I say and Rouge laughs and backs up to look at my face.
"Okay! Me too! But I am almost done!" Rouge says as she moves back to my lips.
Rouge applies the final coat and then she stops and smiles at me.
"SEXY!" she yells, and I jump up.
"You are sexy too!" I say as I hug Rouge.
I jump on Rouge and she holds me up as I hug her. Her hands go under my outfit, to my butt and I laugh as she feels it.
"Yeah, I'm breaking up with Knuckles to be with you." Rouge says and I laugh hard as she carries me out of the bathroom.
"Uhm… Babe?" Rouge yells out as she walks into the living room.
"Yeah?" Knuckles yells back and then he looks up and sees Rouge holding me.
"I'm dating Amy now… sorry." She says and she kisses my cheek causing me to laugh.
Knuckles looks at the both of us and then stands up.
"NO!" he yells and then runs over and removes me from Rouge.
"My wifey- "
Knuckles makes her stop talking by picking her up and taking her to the bedroom and throwing her on the bed. They laugh and argue in the bedroom and I smile at them as I turn around at a mirror in the living room.
I spin around in my outfit and I start jumping up and down in excitement for later today.
I had on a tight, black, latex, one sleeved crop top had flames on the bottom of the crop top. The flames went up towards my chest and the same print was on my flowy, black, latex skirt that stopped at my mid-thigh. There were also flames on that as well and they did the same thing as my shirt. Also, I had on some platformers that went up to the top of my calf and it had tiny black buckles on the sides of them.
Rouge helped me straighten my hair which I haven't done since I was a freshman so my hair went all the way down to my butt which surprised me because usually my hair was curly, so I forgot how long my hair actually is.
I also added mascara to my face making my eyelashes very long and thick. The red lipstick Rouge applied my face pop and my skin looked nice and bright and so did my teeth as I smiled in the mirror. I also had on earrings that had flames on them.
"Oh, I almost forgot!" I say as I run to my suitcase to grab my last accessory to my outfit.
I grab a thick black shiny head band and I place it on my head. I pull out two strands of my hair and I let them hang infront of my face while the black headband holds the rest of my hair back. I then smile as I am ready to dominate. I also had on my bracelet from Sonic and I bring my wrist up and look at it as it shines at me.
A knock goes on the door and I turn away from the mirror to walk to it. I look through the hole and I blush as I see Sonic in his outfit. I shake my head and I open the door to see my two band boys.
"Amy, wow! Your hair!" Tails says he walks up to me touch my hair.
"It's straight! That's so different! You look pretty!" Tails says and then I blush a bit.
"Thank you- BUT YOU GUYS LOOK SO COOL! LOOK AT THE FLAMES!" I say as I point at Tails and Sonic's outfit.
Tails had on a chunky, race car styled jacket on the bottom of the jacket, it had flames, the same pattern as mine and it also the number 24 on the side of his jacket. On the front, it had random names of cars and other things to give the jacket a racecar aesthetic. Tails also had on a white shirt underneath that and some black pants and red shoes that matched his jacket. Also, D' Coolette gave him a black hat with the number 24 in the middle of it and his hat covered his eyes a bit making him look cool and mysterious.
"T-Thanks haha. I feel cool!" Tails says and he walks past me getting in the room.
Sonic looks at me and laughs making me feel nervous.
"Wha- WHATS SO FUNNY!" I yell at him and he touches my hair sending sparks in my brain.
"Your straight hair fits you really nice." He says as he walks closer to me and his hand goes through my thick straight hair.
"You look beautiful." He says to me and I blush quickly.
"T-Thanks you. Uh- You look really nice as well." I say softly and Sonic smiles at my compliment and pats my head causing me to close my eyes.
"Thanks leader." He says lowly as he passes me.
I close the door and I turn around as I look at Sonic outfit.
"He really does look nice. I should tell him to wear black more often."
Sonic had on a black, loose button up shirt that he buttoned up halfway showing off his ripped chest. The shirt also stopped above his triceps having his big muscles were exposed. He also had on dark black jeans that had flames on his back pockets and there were also flames on the sides of his jeans as well. Sonic also had on black air force one's with some black socks that had flames on it.
"Yikes, it's weird because I feel so nervous now, seeing everyone."
Sonic says sitting on the couch and laying back.
"Me too. I could barely sleep last night." Tails says and Sonic laughs.
"Nah, you couldn't sleep because of another reason." Sonic says and Tails blushes.
I giggle as well, and I walk over to Tails.
"Tails is all grown up!" I say hoping in on the teasing and Tails blushes even more.
"Wait what? What does that mean?" Tails says and Sonic and I both laughs.
"It means you grew chest hair Tails." Knuckles says coming out of the room with red lips on his forehead.
"Huh? Tails grew chest hair?" Rouge says coming out in her flamed designed platformer boots.
"WOAH, YOUR SHOES!" I say running up to Rouge.
"I know right, they are so bad ass." Rouge says posing with her outfit.
Rouge had on a tube top that was black and latex like my material on my clothes. It also had the flames on the bottom like ours and then she hand on some baggy, latex, pants that fit her perfectly and but on the sides of her waist and hips; her pants were held together by multiple safetly pins going up her hips and to her waist.
Rouge also added eyelashes to her eyes which made her eye stand out. She also had the shade of lipstick like me and clear sparkly eyeshadow on her eyes with eyeliner and she hand on skinny red shades with a beanie with flames on the bottom.
I stare at her exposed waist and I creep up to her only for Knuckles to stand in the way.
"No." he says, and I pout and then laugh as Knuckles didn't let me touch her.
"You guys look great! Haha, but Sonic looks like a stripper again!" Rouge says and laughs at Sonic.
Sonic flips Rouge off making us all laugh and then everyone slowly looks at me. Sonic stands up as well and he smiles as he puts his hands in his pockets. I blush at all their eyes and then the rush of excitement takes over me.
"Are we all ready?" I ask and Tails takes his drum sticks out his pockets showing me, and I smile at him.
"Yeah! Let's do this, guys!" Rouge says getting hyped.
"You guys are going to kill it." Knuckles says.
"Yep, just like our leader said. There is no way we can lose." Sonic says surprisingly making us all look at him.
Sonic blushes and he looks off.
"What… I'm just trying to positive-"
Tails hugs Sonic teary eyed and I feel my eyes getting teary too as I run into the group hug. Sonic stumbles a bit and he growl.
"Not, again- Rouge, Knuckles. Please don't- "
More bodies get added to Sonic's body as we all hug him. Sonic sighs making us all laugh and then we all release the hug.
"Okay! Let's go." I say as I turn around and lead the pack.
We grab our things on the way out and head down to the hall to get on the elevator. The aura around us shifts drastically as I click on the button to go downstairs and head for our minibus. Everyone is silent, and I am sure they are just as excited as I am.
We ride the elevator all the way down and then we walk out of the hotel after turning in our keys. Even the receptionist looks at us in concern as we all are quiet and focused. As we head out of the hotel into the orange sky, we walk towards our mini-bus. I look up to the sky as it was about to turn dark blue soon and I smile as I knew today was going to be a good day.
We all put our stuff on the bus and we head on the road towards the club we had to head too. The intensity in the minibus starts to make me feel really nervous all the sudden so I stand up quickly.
"Um!" I say as I make my band members look at me.
"Why-Why are we all so quiet." I say as I didn't like to be by myself in my own head.
"What's going on through you guys mind?" I say.
"… well the music for one. I want to make sure they feel the power of the music with my drumsticks and some other small tips you gave us here and there." Tails says and I nod my head.
"What's going on through my head is what the other teams are going to be playing…" Rouge says as she walks to back and sits by me.
"Everyone wants this, and I feel like everyone is fighting for that one spot tonight. It's pretty insane if you think about it." Rouge says and I bite my lip.
"Yeah, it is and I can't wait to crush EVERYONE IN OUR PATH." I yell out and Rouge and Tails laugh at me.
"Haha, what? it's true. My hands are kind of shaking in excitement." I say as I hold them together.
"Sonic! How do you feel about crushing everyone?" Tails says and we all look over to Sonic.
"S-Sonic?"
Sonic face is a bit green and he is sweating bullets as sinks lower and lower in his seat.
"H-h-huh?" Sonic asks weakly and I jump out my seat.
"WHY ARE YOU GREEN!" I ask and he shows me his phone.
I read the post and then my excitement picks up 4000 percent.
"What does the post say?" Tails says walking up behind me.
"It says the place is sold out…" I say softly as I turn back to Tails.
"Maybe if I jump out of the bus now… I won't show up." Sonic says as he gets up shakily and he tries to move past me so that he could go to the door.
"No. No. No. Sonic we need you!" I say and Sonic gags even more causing me jump.
"R-Rouge can you give me a water bottle." I say looking back at her.
"Haha, yeah yeah." Rouge says and Tails walks closer to Sonic and pats his head.
"Sonic, Sonic. Calm down, its only a couple of hundreds of people filling up a place… and they are going to watching everyone stage…haha…. Recording… pictures… opinions…"
I look at Tails as he stops talking and then he looks faint causing me to sit him down by my already sick singer.
"Guys. Guys. Calm down, okay?" I say and both of them shake like they have been in some freezing rain.
I touch both of their shoulders and they both stop shaking as they look up to me.
"Guys, just remember what I have been saying to you all practice. We have what it takes to win! We practiced, we cried, we sweated, and we even took out time from school to get where we are now!" I say and then Tails nods his head.
"It's just all that competition- I know we can do it but the other people- "
"No, Tails. It's not the other people, sure they are a part of the competition but the competition is really yourself. Not anyone else." I say and both of their eyes shine.
"If you two both have the confidence." I say as I touch their heads.
"Then we have already won before we even started. I'm confident in both of you, truly." I say and I remove my hands from their heads.
"We are winning this. No matter what. They are going to be looking at us since we won the summer jam last year. They see us as competition, but we don't." I say as I clench my fist.
"There is no competition because NOBODY can be us." I say.
"You… you are right." Tails says and he starts feeling pumped causing him to stand up.
"We can do this! Right Sonic?!" Tails ask and Sonic blushes a bit and nods his head.
"Yeah- I'll do my best." He says sort of confidently.
"Sonic, you can do it. Just know we are all behind you." Rouge says as she walks up and hands him a water bottle.
He takes it and nods his head.
"R-Right. I keep forgetting I have an entire band to back me up. So… I'll do my best. For you guys and me." Sonic says and we smile at him.
I clap my hands together as more focus fills me.
"Let's do this shit!"
As we drive on the way to the place, we would be performing and our conversation from the new band members being afraid changed into them being more confident than ever. The sky was getting super dark as well as we entered the night clubby parts of Ginza. There were multiple with different outfits and hairstyles walking on the sidewalk going into various clubs and walking out of them as we drove past. They also had very tall buildings and which shined on the dark streets.
Even though after our talk I can't help to look at Sonic and see him act a bit afraid sometimes which made me keep a mental note to check up on him during this entire thing.
Knuckles stops at a red light making us stop talking and then he turns around to us.
"After this right, guys, we are going to be there so get ready." Knuckles says and my heart pounds hard as I smile.
The light turns green and Knuckles turn left. I look out the window and as Knuckles slows down again and then I stare at a big neon sign that says, "The Garage." The building is pretty huge, and it has parking all around the sides of it. The building was painted in a slick black and it neon sign was white and yellow as it flashed back in forth in the night.
There are multiple types of cars and motorcycles parked in the parking lot and there were also people walking to into the club with their friends or dates.
As Knuckles drives in there is a sign that says, "band parking only." And we start going in our designated parking area which is too the back of club. Suddenly some people start to yell at our bus driving by and I blush at some of the people who recognized us.
"Wow, you guys really made a name for yourselves last year." Tails says and I nod my head.
"I-I guess so. I didn't really know we had supporters either." I say as I look back outside.
Knuckles drives around back, and we park in the back. Knuckles turns the minibus off and he steps up and looks at us.
"LET'S GO DO THIS SHIT!" Knuckles yells and I jump up instantly and so does everyone else.
Everyone starts to walk off the bus and I step out of my seat to walk as well. I notice Sonic is in front of me and he still looks a little panicked. I tap his shoulder and he turns around to me.
I wait for everyone to walk off and then I hug him.
"Heh, can you really tell I am that nervous." He says and I nod my head and then I look up to him.
"You will be fine, Sonic. Just look how far you come and I'm so proud and excited for you too…grow." I say as I smile at him.
"Right… okay." He says and then his eyes move my lips.
"Uhm-"I look out the window to see if anyone would see us but they are busy pulling out their equipment.
I lean into Sonic and then I stop causing him to look at me confused.
"I-My lipstick would stain your lips." I say laughing a bit and Sonic laugh too.
"You look super beautiful tonight though, your gorgeous smile doubled 10 times because of your lipstick." Sonic says making me laugh and then he brings me in close to him.
Sonic kisses my forehead instead making me feel like the most cared for person in the world.
"Thanks for everything, Amy… who knows where I would be if it wasn't for you." Sonic says and I blush a bit as he speaks to me
He pecks my forehead again and then he pulls me into a hug again. I hug him back and I sigh softly as he holds me in his big arms.
"I promise to do my best out there for you, me and everyone." Sonic says and I feel tears come to my eyes.
"You will do your best." I say as I look at him.
He smiles at me and he kisses me on the cheek as since he can't get lipstick on his face.
"Hey? Are you guys coming off the bus?" Rouge asks and I pull away from Sonic quickly.
"Ye-yeah!" I say as I look at Sonic's face.
Sonic smiles at me and he turns around and walks off the bus.
"Maybe… I should tell them. About us."
I walk down the bus behind Sonic and the music from inside the building can be heard through the walls. My platforms hit the pavement and I turn around to look at our battleground. I smile and then I turn around to grab my guitar case but of course, Sonic already has it. Everyone else has their stuff as well and Knuckle closes the mini-bus storage causing me to turn around.
"Let's get signed in!" I say trying to keep the energy.
We walk up the steps to get inside the back door and I open and instantly the music getting played from inside, roars into our ears making me feel like I just walked into a whole different world. As we walk in, there are some bands already in line and many of the production teams walking around and getting things ready for the competition in an hour. I take a step but someone with a checkboard in their hand runs past me.
I step back a bit and then Sonic walks past me and takes the lead as he saw I almost got ran over. Rouge and Tails laugh, and I laugh as well as Sonic watches over us. Another part of the production team walks our way, but they stop as they see Sonic. Sonic stares at them and the person shrinks causing me to touch Sonic's arm and push him forward.
"Why are all of them trying to run into us?" Sonic asks annoyed and I laugh at him.
"They are busy and maybe we are in the way." I say as I continue to push him and walk inside the backstage.
"They can say excuse me. Not that hard." Sonic says and we all laugh at him.
I notice a sign that says, "sign in here" and I walk under Sonic's arm and too the table. A purple beaver is taking up names and then the band in front of us walks off and then it's our turn. His eyes perk up and he sits up higher.
"Hi, we are here to check in! "4 Times- "
"4 Times Different! You don't have to introduce yourself! You guys were our winners last year at our other event. Our most anticipated performance tonight." The purple beaver says as he writes down our name on the list.
"Most anticipated? You are just gassing us now." I say trying to joke with him.
"Well, if you guys were to win two years in a row, that would be iconic. So, I'd say its most anticipated, Miss Rose." Says the purple beaver and then he hands me a key.
His eyes travel up my outfit and he look back at me and blushes. I laugh awkwardly as I notice his eyes aren't on my face anymore. Suddenly a big shadow comes behind me and I notice that it is Sonic's big arm reaching over me and taking the key. The purple beaver then looks up and shrinks like the other person Sonic starred at and then he points to the right.
"Y-Your room is that w-way. Good luck." He says in fear and he bows.
"Thank you." I say and I turn to Sonic to see him looking at the beaver.
"Haha, let's go." I say and I notice everyone is looking at the beaver with the same intent.
"I- LETS GO GUYS!" I yell as they come out of their trance.
Sonic starts to walk first, and we follow him since he has the key.
"That dude was weird. Why was he looking at you like that? You guys saw that right?" Rouge says and Knuckles nods his head.
"Yeah! The fuck was his problem." Knuckles says.
"He was looking at Amy, like a creep. Let's make sure we all stay together and look after Amy." Tails says and everyone agrees.
Sonic chuckles and I look up at him to see an amused expression on his face.
"I think we should. Amy is pretty short so she would get lost quick." Sonic says patting my head.
"I'm not that short- "
"Yeah, operation watch out for Amy, commence. "Rouge says patting my head as well.
"Wh- what?! I don't need protection- "
Everyone starts to pat my head and I blush as they really think I am super short. Suddenly stops as he looks at the door number and then the key.
"I think this is it." He says and he puts the key in the hole.
Sonic twists the key in the hole and a medium sized lounging room is shown to us. We all gasp, and we push past Sonic to see our room.
"Woah! This is way fancier then last time!" Tails says as he walks over to the couches.
The room had 4 big brown leather couches and a nice decor all around it, almost like we were back at the hotel. The was a small buffet of appetizers on table and a restroom all the way in the back. They also had a mic and amps in here if we wanted to get tuned up before we went out there.
There was a TV that showed the stage out front and I walk to it quickly to see what everything looked like. The club was tinted in blue from the lights, that were flashing onto the dance floor and a bar across from the stage. The club was very big all together and the camera changes and shows a second floor of people circle tables and sitting chatting while ordering drinks for waiters and waitresses.
"Holy smoke…" I say softly as I look around at the club on TV.
I hear footsteps behind me, and I look back at them to see that they are watching the TV as well.
"The club looks so nice!" Rouge says as the camera changes back to the stage making everyone gasp.
"That's the stage!" Tails says pointing at it.
"Yeah… its nice." I say as I look at the spot I would be standing on.
I turn around and I see Sonic looking at his phone and blushing. I walk up to him and he looks up quickly and puts his phone away.
"What?" I ask him and he looks at me.
"Uh- nothing. Just my brother and sister are out there- "
"MANNY- "
I stop yelling as I think about how I should say anything about knowing who Sonic's brother and sisters are.
"They would find out or ask how I met his family…" I think and then I shake my head.
"You invited your family?!" I ask loudly instead of another thing I was going to say.
"Sonic's family is here?" Tails asks and everyone walks to Sonic who is blushing a bit.
"Well- I told them I was in a band and stuff. And they asked me to invite them to one of my performances- "
"SONIC'S FAMILY! LET'S GO MEET THEM!" Rouge exclaims and Sonic face turns red.
"We don't have too- "
"No, we should!" I say and I grab Sonic's hand.
"Amy, please no- "
"PLUS, WE HAVE TO GO SEE OUR SUPPORTERS ANYWAY AND…"
I tighten my grip on Sonic's hand and he starts wince.
"Ah- Amy death grip-"
"We can go see our opponents." I say but then Rouge stares at me.
"No." Rouge says but she opens the door.
"Let's just be nice and friendly. For once. "Rouge says and I nod my head agreeing.
"Roger!" I say and I start to pull Sonic out the door with me as we all walk towards the main area.
We walk down a hall and then we exit out of a hallway and a door to see the bigger area of the club than we saw on TV. The loud music runs through our ears and everyone else's who was enjoying their time at the club. I look around a bit and then Rouge turns around and points at Sonic.
"Sonic! Point them out!" Rouge yells over the music.
Sonic sighs and the he walks past me, still holding my hand, causing me to blush a bit. We all follow Sonic and he looks over the crowd and then walks a bit faster as I think he found them. I try to step on my tippy toes so I could see what he was looking at and then we find Manic and Sonia sitting at a table. Sonic squeezes my hand and I squeeze his back as I know he might be nervous since he hasn't introduced his friends to his family in a long time.
Sonia looks up and she gasps as she sees us walking up to her. Sonia gives me a look at she walks up closer to Sonic and I let go of his hand she hugs him.
"SONIC! YOU LOOK SO AMAZING! WOW, YOU WEREN'T KIDDING WHEN YOU SAID YOU WAS A ROCKSTAR." Sonia says and Sonic blushes and nods his head.
"Thanks- "
Manic walks over and he starts to laugh as he looks at his little brother. Manic also looks at me and a ping of excitement runs in my veins as I want to hug Manic so bad.
"Manny…" I think to myself as I try to contain my anticipation.
"Sonic! You look like a stripper!" Manic says touching Sonic's chest and Sonic fans his hand away.
"I know." He says and I giggle at the sound of his voice.
Sonic looks back at me and then he looks forward quick and steps a side.
"This is the rest of my band. Rouge, bass player, Tails, drums, and Amy our leader and lead guitarist and our butler Knuckles" Sonic says introducing us.
We all give them a small wave and say hi, here and there and do as well.
"Wow, it's so nice to meet you guys. You guys look great." Sonia says and then she looks at me up and down and then her eyes go to Rouge.
"And you guys are especially cute. Nice to meet you both I'm Sonia." She says and she offers her hand.
I blush a bit at her seductive eyes and then I take her hand and shake it.
"Nice to meet you too! Uh- You and Sonic look a lot alike." I say and smiles at me.
"Thanks. We do, don't we Sonic!" Sonia says pinching Sonic's cheeks.
"Stop…" Sonic says blushing a bit and then Manic walks up making Rouge and Tails walk back a bit from his height and built. I jump and I walk back as well to act like this my first time seeing Manic.
"Yo… I'm Manic. Nice to meet you all!" Manic says in a deep voice.
"Hi! Wow, we see that the athletic build goes on in the family." Knuckles says and Manic looks his way.
"Heh, you know it. Sonic use to be scrawny until I told him to pump that iron. Now, look at him." Manic says patting him on the chest hard.
"Ow." He says and then Knuckles walks up to him as well.
"I'm trying to Sonic to come work out with me sometimes, but Sonic says he likes to do his own thing sometimes. Make me think he is scared." Knuckles says and Manic laughs and places his arm around Sonic's shoulder roughly.
"I'm not scared." Sonic says and Manic and Knuckles both laugh.
"What about him?" Manic asks and they all look at Tails jumps.
"Oh! You know what I never asked him! Tails has soon room to gain some muscle." Knuckles says bringing Tails in the conversation.
"I can see a lil muscle." Manic says and they all start a whole different conversation about boy stuff.
I laugh at them and Rouge comes up to my side.
"So, tell me. Why is Sonic so monotone and mean?" Rouge says and Sonia laughs.
"Haha, Sonic is pretty nonchalant. I don't know, honestly but if you just annoy him a bit he will calm down." Sonia says making us all laugh.
I feel a tap on my shoulder and I turn around to see Cosmo and Blaze.
"COSMO. BLAZE!" Rouge and I yell in sync as w hug them both.
"You guys look so great! "Blaze says stepping back and looking at us.
"Thanks!" I say as I spin around letting my skirt flow.
"Can't wait to see what you guys do. It's been so long Rouge." Cosmo says hugging Rouge again.
"Haha, yeah it has!" Rouge says and then Cosmo eyes goes to Sonia.
"The singer's sister?" Cosmo questions and Sonia steps up and nods her head.
"Yes! Wow , it must be that noticeable. I'm Sonia nice to meet you two." Sonia says shaking Blaze's and Cosmo's hand.
"You are Sonic's sister!? I didn't even know he had a sister." Blaze says.
"He has a brother too!" I say to Blaze and she looks at me confused.
"Brother? -"
"Hey ladies." Manic says and scares Blaze.
"Wow. Tall." Cosmo says not that startled but surprised.
Blaze backs up and moves behind Cosmo making Manic look at her confused.
"You are scaring everyone." Sonic says and then he looks at Blaze and Cosmo.
Sonic and Cosmo look at each other for a moment and then Sonic half smiles at the both of them.
"Hey guys." He says and Blaze comes from behind Cosmo a bit.
"H-Hey Sonic. Your brother is huge." Blaze pointing at him and Manic laughs.
"I know, he looks like a big giant tree." Sonic says making us laugh and Manic puts Sonic in a neck hold.
"A tree that can beat your ass up." Manic says in a dark tone and everyone takes a step back and then we all laugh at him.
"You guys look good though!" Blaze says looking at Sonic but then to Tails and then back to Sonic.
"Thanks." Sonic and Tails says.
I swallow hard as I watch Blaze and then an announcer comes over the music making the room only being filled with people talking and walking.
"Hello, music loving people of Ginza, Toyko! Our competition is starting in a few so make sure you grab a seat and some friends because it's about to get rocking in here!"
The music comes back on and then I turn around back to my friends. They are looking at me again and I pound my fist in my hand.
"Let's go guys. We have to be there for the tiny meeting they have for all bands." I say.
"Okay! Good luck guys!" Sonia says cheering us on.
"Yeah, show them!" Manic says and I smile a bit.
"Don't let me down." Cosmo says making us laugh.
"We will be down here cheering you on!" Blaze says as well.
"And I'll be out here. I'm going to let you guys do your thing-Oh wait! Let me get a picture of you guys first." Knuckles says pulling out his phone.
"Oh! Oh! I want a picture too!" Sonia says.
Everyone starts to whip out their phone and then Sonic and Tails walk near us to get in the picture. Sonic stands beside me and he places his hand on my back causing me to bite my lip as he gets closer to me and then Tails gets beside Sonic, and Rouge runs to my side making us all stumble a bit but I laugh anyway at her excitement. We all move closer together and my hip touches Sonic's leg making me look at him. Sonic taps on my back and I look back at the camera.
"OKAY READY! 1… 2…3!"
Everyone takes pictures of us and I make sure to smile at all of them. I throw out a peace sign and Rouge follows and so does Tails and we all start laughing. Sonic chuckles too and he slowly throws out a peace sign as well. I smile brighter and as they take pictures.
"Tonight, is going to be so perfect… I feel so happy." I think as we release each other from the picture.
"Okay. Got it!" Knuckle says and then he runs up to Rouge and kisses her lips.
"You got this, my queen. I'll be down here, cheering you on." He says and Rouge smiles at him and hugs him.
"Wait- she has a boyfriend…" Sonia says sadly, and I nod my head sadly as well.
"Ye-yeah." I say sadly and then Knuckles points at me and Sonia.
"No."
Rouge laughs and she winks at Sonia making her blush which I have never seen her do and then she turns to me and grabs my hand.
"Let's do this." Rouge says and I nod my head.
"Hey Rouge and Amy!" Cosmo says before we walk off.
"I'm proud of you guys and I forgot to give you these. You guys have grown so much from our first practice and now you are carrying on the legacy." Cosmo says and she gives us little black guitar pics that says "4x" on in green ghostly looking writing.
My eyes sparkle and I hug Cosmo immediately. Rouge comes in too and I feel tears come to my eyes a bit as I remember that Cosmo gave us everything before she graduated college.
"Thanks Cosmo… We promise to make you proud. And-And I'll use it too." I say and Cosmo pats my head.
"Thanks, Cossie, we will use everything you taught us." Rouge says.
"I know you will." Cosmo says and then we wave at her and turn around to our band mates.
Sonic and Tails smile at and we do the same back as we all turn and start walking backstage. We enter the backstage and then we notice all the bands are walking in the same direction as we all are getting ready to listen to the meeting. My stomach turns a bit as I watch the other bands talk and walk towards the other room.
"I think I can see Cream from here." Sonic says and Tails jumps up trying to see over the crowd of people.
"Where? Where?" he asks and Sonic points over the people's heads.
We walk in the room finally after the long line of people trying to get into this large room in the back. I look around for a moment and then I spot Cream talking to Tikal.
"I see her." I say and I look up to Tails.
Tails looks at her and then us and then he shakes his head.
"I… I have to focus on this now. I told you guys I won't let her distract me from this goal we have." Tails says and I smile at him.
"AWW TAILS YOU HAVE GROWN SO MUCH!" I say as I hug Tails and he scratches his head blushes.
"But, seriously. We came here to win and if you guys are counting on me then… I'll do my absolute best." Tails says and Sonic pats him the shoulder and smiles at him.
"Attention, musical wizards!" Says a hedgehog with gold and red hair.
We all turn to face the man in a black t-shirt and shredded jeans.
"Thank you all for competing for the chance to earn a free spot at the Tokyo beach summer jam festival! I am sure you all are excited to compete tonight am I right?"
We all clap and cheer in excitement and then he smiles at us.
"My name is Hinata, and I am one of the judges for tonight! I hope you all are ready for tonight and please don't be late to your performance time. Everything you do on that stage will show and tell if you deserve to have that extra spot for the festival. Everyone note you play, every smile you show and every kick, flip, anything you do will effect on if should be up there." He says and then his face gets serious.
"There is no 2nd place, or 3rd. There is only one winner out of all 15 bands here today. So, do you best. Show us who you are and continue to keep music flowing. Thank you and please look at your times on this paper before you exit this room. "he says and the starts to walk off until he makes eye contact with me.
"Hold on. Hold on everyone." He says and then he smiles and looks back to the crowd of people.
"And just to let you know how serious this is. We have "4 Times Different here!" They were the winners of the festival last year and from what I heard from the festival, they had people wanting an encore! So, don't take this competition lightly and give it your best go!" Hinata says and everyone looks at us.
I stand up taller as they look at us and then I remember that they are our competition, so I take a step forward.
"WE AREN'T BACKING DOWN EITHER!" I yell out and everyone gasps and laughs as I yell at everyone in crowd.
"Amy…" Rouge says, and she touches my shoulder and tell me to calm down.
"Some of us aren't scared!" I hear a female voice say and I turn my head quick and so does everyone else.
Tikal steps out and of the crowd and walks forward to me. Cream follows Tikal as well and she is blushing as she knows we are big revivals.
"You guys did win but… doesn't mean that can change." She says.
"Hey, how about you- "
I hold my up hand from Rouge talking and I smile at Tikal.
"Well, we already beat you, so you aren't even our competition anymore. But since you like being beaten so bad I'll make sure it's more entertaining than last time." I say and I turn before she can say anything back, but I am sure she is fuming.
"Let's go." I say walking first and they all follow me.
Some "oohs" and laughs go throughout the room and I smile at my comeback as we walk back to our room.
We make it back and everyone starts busting out into laughter after we close our door.
"Haha! Did you see the look on her face!" Rouge says as she laughs.
"Heh, yeah. I didn't expect Amy to say something that clever." Sonic says chuckling a bit.
"It was kind of funny." Tails says laughing a bit.
"Guys." I say and they all stop laughing.
"Let's get serious. I meant what I said out there. They aren't the competition. We are. So, let's get our stuff ready, tune, and maybe go over a part or two." I say and they all move as I say.
I crack my fingers and I move to open my case. I stare at my hammer shaped guitar and I grab it carefully like a newborn baby. I kiss the bridge of it and then I walk over to the amp to make sure I sound okay.
Rouge and I tune for a bit and Sonic stand in the mirror practicing some moves he made himself that he had been working on and Tails put on some earphones so that he can listen to our recording and air drum to it. A lot of bands have gone by and we have just been going over some things here and there to make sure we are ready.
I hum the song a bit as I look at my fingers and then I turn to check on Sonic. Sonic is looking at the stage on the TV and he is watching a band walk on stage as he drinks some water from his water bottle. Sonic smiles a bit as he watches the TV and my heart skips a beat as I turn back around. I look at Rouge tuning her bass guitar and I clench my guitar.
"Rouge." I say and Rouge looks at me.
"Yeah?" she says, and I open my mouth but then I don't say anything.
"What… what was I about to say… or do." I think as I feel butterflies in my move my stomach.
"I-… uhm."
"Amy? You okay?" Rouge says and I blush a bit as I haven't said anything.
"Uh- Well- "
"Hey, Amy." Sonic says making me turn around to look him.
"Yeah?"
"I think they just said we were going on in the next bands on the screen." Sonic says causally and I spring up.
"H-Huh?!" I say as I run up to the screen.
A list is on the screen and about time I get to where Sonic is standing it disappears and then the band is playing.
"Shit I didn't get to see it-"
"Wait- did you even check the time like the guy said?" Sonic asks and I panic.
"I FORGOT!" I yell and then I run towards the door.
"Wait where are you going?" he asks
"EVERYONE JUST GET READY! I AM GOING TO GO CHECK THE TIME FOR US TO GO!" I yell
I continue to run out of the room and then down to the large room we were in before. I open the door to see some random staff inside and they look at me in confusion.
"THE LIST!" I yell and they all look at me in fear.
"WHERE IS THE LIST!" I say and they point behind me.
"They thought everyone read it and now the DJ has the list to call out the names." They say to me and I turn around and I take off.
"Shit. Shit. Shit. Crap. I am an idiot!" I say in my head repeatedly as I run back into the club.
I run into someone who standing by the door and I say sorry, but I continue to take off towards the DJ. I look around and I see a guy behind a DJ deck with headphones on his neck as he watches the band perform. I sprint past people and I run upstairs quickly. The upstairs was super crowded, so I push and slide my way through people were watching the band. I finally get to the DJ booth and I slam my hands on it making him look at me quickly and some people who were standing near him.
"LIST!" I yell and he blushes as he looks at my face.
"Huh? List? Who are-"
I get on the DJ table and DJ steps back and looks at me as I climb the table.
"4 TIMES DIFFERENT!" I NEED TO SEE THE LIST!" I yell and some people laugh as I scare the DJ.
"Oh-Right. Okay, hold on." He says as he turns around and grabs the list.
He hands it to me and I take and I read over the list.
"Oh, we go last." I say finally calming down.
"And what band is going now." I ask as I get down from table and I look at the DJ.
"Mountain Climbers are going now… I think you have 2 bands in front of you." He says and I look down at it.
"Oh, we are. . nice. Thanks!" I say and making him blush again as I hand him the paper.
I turn around and I start to walk back down the stairs. I finally get to the bottom floor and the singing on stage makes me stop and look forward. The singer was a female and she sounded perfect, and it even sent chills in my body. I walk closer and to see and I watch carefully as she moves on stage.
"Wow…. She sounds great." I say as I feel her take my breath away.
"Yeah, she is okay. Not as good as you though."
I zone out at the voice I hear behind me and I slowly turn around as icy blues eyes look at me.
"Hey, Ames." He says as he blushes a bit and smiles showing his sharp teeth.
"S-S-Scourge?" I say as I look at him and walks closer to me.
"Haha, yeah look surprise! I showed up to your competition again too support you. I told you, I care about you right?" he says, and his last comment makes me smiles a bit.
I instantly hug him, and he hugs me back softly.
I step back and I smile at him.
"I didn't know you were coming! How are you here?!" I say and Scourge shrugs his shoulders and smiles.
"Well, my job travels a lot and I saw your band page post this event while I was in the area. I thought I would try to surprise you. Friend-wise this time." He says and I laugh a bit.
"Where is the lucky guy anyway." He says to me as he looks around and places his hand in his leather jacket.
"Oh! Back in room! I should probably head back soon!" I say
"I'm surprised he isn't looking after you like he always is." Scourge says and I blush as I think about Sonic's over protectiveness.
"Haha, yeah, me too. He has always been like that- well you know what I mean." I say shyly and Scourge laughs at me.
"Yeah I get it and you look nice. I haven't seen you with straight hair in so long." He says as he touches my hair.
"Haha, yeah since freshman year, I think. A-And thank you."
Suddenly everyone starts clapping and I look to the stage and I see that the band finished and that we were next.
"Well, you should go. I'll be at the bar watching." Scourge says pointing at the bar.
"Alright! I'll see you afterwards!" I say as I turn around and run off.
I move past some people and I head back in the door. I smile slightly as I walk down the hallway to our room.
"There are so many people supporting us tonight. It feels so nice to have that. I feel like I could walk on water right now or fly if I wanted." I think as I make my way to the door.
I knock on the door, only for it to open and I look in confusion to only see Sonic sitting on the couch tying his shoe.
"Hey- Where did everyone go?" I ask as I walk up to him.
"Someone came in here and to get us, so right now Rouge and Tails are already at the backstage waiting for us. So, I was here waiting for you. "Sonic says as he continues to tie his shoe.
"Oh! Well, let me get my guitar." I say as I walk towards my guitar.
I walk to my guitar and I take the cord from the amp and I put my guitar strap over my arm.
"What took you so long." Sonic asks, and I stand up.
"Oh, the DJ wouldn't let me see the paper, so I had to threaten him! We go at 8P.M. apparently but it's not like it matters since you guys know now. Haha, whoops." I say as I take the cord out of the amp to put back in my case.
"Heh, was he an asshole?" He asks and I giggle at him.
"Haha, not really. I think I was being the asshole." I say as I stand and look at him.
Sonic smiles at me and I smile back at him as I walk up to him.
"What else made you come back so late?" he asks me, and I cock my eyebrow.
"Hm? What do you mean? I was gone for two secs?" I say and then I laugh more.
"Aww, did you miss me…" I say as I try to touch his face, but he moves back from me.
I blink at him twice and then I look at his face and then my hand. I slowly drop it down as I watch his facial expression change.
"Huh… why did he- "
"Amy." He says a bit more serious and I look at him in eye.
"What made you come back so late?" he asks me again and I move my eyebrows in confusion as I try to understand what he is talking about.
"… the DJ?" I say softly as I point at the door in confusion.
Sonic looks at me and then he looks off a bit. His eyes come back to mine and he walks up to me more.
"Amy… I'm going to ask you. One more time. Why it took you so long to come back, when you said you was only going to look at the list." He says looking straight in the eye.
"…did I do something?... Why is he looking at me like that?"
"Why… why are you talking to me like that- "
"Amy. Answer the question." He says to me and his voice makes me jump a bit.
I look at his eyes and he looks… hurt? I back up a bit only for Sonic to take a step towards me. I hold my hands together as he stares at me and I look off a bit trying to understand what he was talking about.
"What… what else took me so long? Maybe I didn't explain to him right."
"Um… I went… to the room to find the list and it wasn't there and I was t-told that the list was at the DJ booth and so… I went there and read the list myself to find out when we were susposed to go… and t-t-then I came down stairs and- "
I gasp as I remember the next part of why I was late. Sonic eyes go into anger and pain and he clenches his fist. My mouth shakes as I try to finish the sentence and I feel my face go hot.
"Wa-wait, Sonic- "
"What? What else did you do, Amy? Come on. Say it. It's not like I saw you do anything you would never do to me?" he says as he points at his chest and he starts to breath a bit heavier.
"Did… Did he see me hug Scourge?"
I raise my hand up trying to slow down the conversation and I look into his eyes.
"It- I- Sonic, wait." I say as I try to find my words to ease this situation.
Sonic waits a moment for me to talk and I swallow hard as I look at him. I stand a bit straighter and I open my mouth to speak again.
"Sc- Ah- Scourge- he- well I didn't know he was coming and…" I stop talking as Sonic angry face was scaring me.
"And what?" he asks as he voices shakes a bit.
My eyes looks at his angry ones and my throat goes dry instantly and so does my mind.
"I… don't know what else to say-"
Sonic walks up to me and I walk back even more as my back touches the wall. I raise my hands up at him as he walks super close to me and I look at his angry face.
"What… what did I do wrong- "
"Amy. I'm trying so hard. Not to yell at you. But acting like you don't know why I saw what I saw is really… really…. pissing me off." He says.
"He- he came to support me-"
"WHEN DID YOU TWO BECOME CLOSE AGAIN FOR YOU GUYS TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER!" he yells at me as he points at the door behind him.
I slide down the wall a bit as he yells at me and I raise my hands up a bit. I look into both of his eyes as he looks at me like he has never before. I feel tiny tears come in my eyes and Sonic walks closer to making me stand up taller.
"Tell me. I want to know. Why I saw him hug you out there like that."
"You are scaring me- "
"And Amy… you are breaking- my heart." Sonic says as he voice cracks and I slowly look back to him.
"You were hugging him out there… I- I had to come up to you and ask you that five times. And you couldn't tell me. Why? What…what have I ever done to have you hide something from me. Like this?" He asks and I look at him in his eyes.
"I'd never hide anything from you, I- I didn't"
"And yet you are out there… hugging him like he was everything you ever wanted? You are hiding something from me, and I just happen to find out because I was wondering where you were." He says and I shake my head I disagree
"Are you guys dating again?" he asks, and my eyes widen.
"No! Why would I date him, when I'm with you?!" I say as I look at him shocked.
"The same reason you were hugging him, Amy. You smiled at him like how you look at me!" Sonic says and I shake my head again.
"Sonic, I've- I have never looked at anyone the way I look at you-"
Sonic slams his hand the wall making me flinch, but I continue to look at him. The wall behind me vibrates from the force of Sonic hand and I blink rapidly as this situation sends me in a shock.
"Oh, really? Why you still acting like I'm stupid? I saw how you looked at him Amy."
"No. No. Sonic you have it all wrong- I'd never do that too- "
"Then how did you two get to that point!" he says, and I freeze up.
"You must have had so much communication behind my back for you to hug him like that after he basically harassed you and cheated on you!" he says to me looking me in the eye for answers.
"Did you talk to him all the time when we hung out together? Huh? Right after I took you on that date or after we made love?"
I gasp at his words as he would think I would do that. We look at each other and silence.
"… You really think I would do that to you… Sonic, I wouldn't." I say.
"Well what else was I supposed to think when I saw you with him? It's just what hurts even more is that you would rather hug Scourge, risking your safety and everything after he did too you but you would never even hold my hand in public…" Sonic says and I shake my head.
"T-that not true- "
"THEN HOW COME! YOUR EX IS STILL GETTING MORE OF YOU THAN ME!" he yells, and I feel my lip quiver.
"What you two just did… is all I ever wanted with you. You do know much this shit sucks, right? To hide about liking someone so much. Not being able to be with someone you spend all your time thinking about. It feels like I am in handcuffs when I am with you and the band, Amy! But Scourge has everything I wanted! Everything! I told you last night, this is what I wanted, and you looked me right in the eye and said we could have it!" Sonic says loudly and I flinch at his words.
"Why have we doing everything we have been doing only for you to fix things with your ex? Behind my back? I don't get it, Amy. What's your reason?" he says as he looks me completely appalled.
"Are you are just dating me so it can hold you over until you can get your relationship back-"
"S-Sonic that's not true!" I say as I try to touch him and then he moves away from me.
"Then what is it?... How can I not possibly be enough for you?" Sonic asks me and I don't know how to respond as he won't let me touch him.
I freak out a bit as he wouldn't let me touch him again. I walk closer to him and Sonic keeps on moving away from me and he is looking at me like I just stabbed his sister in front of his face.
"You are enough for me…" I say softly as I try to touch him again only for him to walk away further than me.
"Sonic stop… Nothing happened- "
"So, nothing happened? After what I just saw, when I was trying to look after my girlfriend, making sure she is okay, and is coming back to the band safely, but in reality she is hugging her ex… while I'm here. Thinking about how you mean so much to me, our future and how I'd do anything for you, …" Sonic says.
Sonic shrugs his shoulders and he laugh a bit.
"You… you really got me." He says as he looks down at his feet.
"I thought… if I let you in. If I just let you in… this girl who said she could take me from my past. Change everything for me. Maybe even show me that I can have love too even after my fucked-up past. You made me think that, I was capable of being in a relationship after Sally. But I was so wrong… haha, wow." Sonic says looking up at the ceiling and rubbing his hand through his hair.
"And here I thought that… after this was over. We were really going to be something, but you want to be something with someone else- "
"I don't, Sonic I want to be with you… it's just a bad misunderstanding and I can't explain because I'm scared and confused." I say and he looks at me angrily again.
"Confused about what? If you still want to be with him? Scared about what? Scared of losing me because you can't decide on who you want? You still haven't told me how you got to that point with him so at this POINT, Amy it looks like you are protecting him from me."
"I'm not- It's just I didn't want you to get hurt so I didn't- "
I stop talking as his facial expressions changes drastically. He looks at me like he is looking at a complete stranger causing him to look me up and down like he didn't know who I was at all.
"… you what?" he says, and he starts walking to me.
"You… you talked to him even though you knew it would hurt me?.." he says sadly, and I just look at him.
"Did…. Did I- "
"Next up on stage is what all you have been waiting for! They are the winners of our last summer jam festival and now they are here to go at it again! Will they win two years in a row! Find out in a few minutes as they get ready!" says the TV.
I slowly look at it and then I look back to Sonic's hurt face.
"Why can't I say anything thing. Why isn't nothing coming out of my mouth. I never meant to hurt, Sonic. I just wanted to protect him from… from what? Why didn't I just tell him-"
Sonic turns around and then he starts to walk towards the door.
"…we… we should get going." He says lowly and opens the door.
"Wait but what about us?" I say and Sonic stops in mid step.
He turns around and looks at me with cold eyes.
"You want to put more energy into someone else right? You… you rather make things good with him so you guys can have something again?" he says and then I feel my heart crack.
"No, I don't want tha- "
"You rather… be with him after everything we been through. After me, building you up from the ground, trying to make you a better person, trying to show you things and make you feel things you have never felt before. After I'm constantly here for you repeatedly and then you want to go to someone else. After everything…" Sonic says as his eyes go to sad.
"All I wanted was all of you. That's it. That's all I wanted…and to see that you still… are putting that into someone else. It hurts so bad. So bad that I can't even feel it, but I know the pain is there." Sonic says softly.
"I was showing you how to love…Amy because you told me you didn't know how. You said you were broken and I said I was going to fix you… " Sonic says and he bawls up his fist.
"I just… And I can't even get fifthteen percent of what he has of you." Sonic says while looking off to the ground and he starts to become angry again.
Sonic walks out of the room and my legs feel like they are glued to the floor. I take a step and then I start walking and walking turns into running. I swing the door open and I start to run towards the backstage area that led into the stage. Sonic is walking quickly and angrily as I follow behind him carefully and slowly.
"He is mad at me and it's all my fault… he is mad at me… he won't even let me touch him-" I think as look at the back of his head.
I look down as I walk behind him and then I hear feet running to us as we walk on the stage with a closed curtain.
"WHERE-WHERE HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN!" Rouge says as she whispers yells at us as we get on stage.
"Guys! We are about to start- "
Sonic just walks past Tails as he talks, and he adjust the mic to his height and starts to get ready. Rouge watches him and tries to catch onto what is going as I am sure she has felt the aura.
"What- What is his problem?" Rouge asks and I look at her.
Rouge looks at me carefully as I probably look upset and scared.
"Amy?" she says, and I try to say something, but nothing comes out.
"Ayo! "4 Times!" You are up in 20 secs!" says a man and I jerk up.
"Amy, what happened?" Rouge asks and I shake my head.
"N-Nothing, let's just get into position." I say as I hurry to the amp.
I connect myself to the amp as my stomach feels sick and I can barely even focus on anything. I slowly look up and I clench my guitar as I look over at Sonic.
"He yelled at me…he really yelled at me because of what I did… I still don't understand what I did wrong. I thought if- "
The curtain slowly starts to open, and I shake my head trying to get into character and act like someone who didn't just get yelled at by someone they cared about so much.
"Just breathe, Amelia. You have to focus. Just until after this is over and then you can try to fix things… you can try- "
Sonic words echo through my head flinch at his hurt face appearing in my mind.
"I… I do care about you Sonic. I do, so why is he questioning everything- "
Suddenly I hear yelling and cheering as I blink my eyes. I look forward and I look out to the cameras and people waiting for us to start. I breathe heavily as I we stand in the dark waiting for the crowd to calm down.
"I really do want him. Only him. I'd do anything for him-"
The crowd gets quiet and I adjust my feet as I listen to the announcer come in.
"4 Times Different" presents you with the song "Without me" by Fame on Fire!" says the announcer.
The room goes silent and I look down to my hand. My hand is shaking as I try to hold my guitar pic still and I squeeze my eyes shut as I try to calm down. I take a big breath and then I start to play my guitar, letting my band in and I stare at the frets and I start to black out.
"You… you talked to him even though you knew it would hurt me?..."
Sonic words echo through my head as I look over at him as I play. I bite my lip and I stare forward as I try to focus on winning even though that was the last thing on my mind.
I keep on playing and I turn around slowly as I try to contain my cool and focus on the song. I make eye contact with Tails in dark and he mouths to "focus." He says and clear my throat as I continue to play until Sonic's part.
"Woah…" Sonic sings on the mic as blue lights flash on us and then disappear as they travel up and down our bodies.
"Found you when your heart was broke…" Sonic sings as he holds onto the mic and looks down at his feet.
Tails comes in with the bass drum giving the room a cool vibe and Sonic smooth voice runs through it as well.
"I filled your cup until it overflowed. Took it so far to keep you close… I was afraid to leave you on your own." Sonic sings and then his head come up and he moves his hand out as he sings with the song.
"I said I'd catch you if you fall!" Sonic sings and the bright lights come on as we all come in including Rouge complimenting me.
Tails comes in playing on the drums and starts carrying us through and the crowd that was nodding their heads to the song. I look over to Sonic and he is frowning a bit as he sings the song causing me to look away and continue to play.
"And if they laugh, then fuck 'em all…" Sonic sings and I can hear a hint of anger making me look back at him as I sway side to side playing along. Sonic sings while moving his right hand with the song and then starts sing louder as the song progresses
"And then I got you off your knees. Put you right back on your feet. Just so you could take advantage of me!" Sonic sings bending over as he sings, and the crowd starts to cheer as Sonic sounds perfect on the mic and then takes the mic and off and pushes the mic stand down.
The way Sonic sings makes me feel so guilty and I try to focus on playing as I was slowly blowing up inside.
"Tell me, how's it feel sittin' up there? Feeling so high, but too far away to hold me." Sonic sings and he starts to clap, getting the audience to join and now Tails stops drumming and so does Rouge just leaving me and Sonic. The lights on stage turn dark blue and then it gradually starts to lighten up.
"You know I'm the one who put you up there. A name in the sky, does it ever get lonely?" Sonic sings and then a slight smile come on his face as he sings and it throws me into a different dimeson.
Sonic starts to move in slow motion as I watch him smile but the smile wasn't a happy one. It was a sad one.
That I created.
"Thinking you could live without me!" Sonic sings bringing me back and the everyone starts to jump up and down too.
I shake my head as all of us starts to play with Tails behind us hitting on his drums hard making us feel the music. Sonic starts to dance stage as well, jumping and nodding his head to the song.
"Okay… maybe I can just ignore this for a moment."
"Thinking you could live without me! Baby, I'm the one who put you up there. I don't know why. "Sonic sings pointing out to the crowd and they go crazy.
"Thinking you could live without me! Live without me. Baby, I'm the one who put you up there. I don't know why." Sonic sings and then turns around and the look on his face is sadness and I am sure Rouge and Tails sees it too.
Sonic chuckles a bit and then he looks at me causing to jump and as fear runs over my body.
"Gave love 'bout a hundred tries…" he sings and then he looks away from me and back to the crowd who starts jumping up and down again.
"Is… did he just sing to me."
"Just running from the demons in your mind. Then I took yours and made 'em mine." He sings as he unbuttons his shirt a bit and takes it out of his pants, making the crowd scream. Sonic leans down sings to a couple of people and they reach out for him.
"I didn't notice 'cause my love was blind. I said I'd catch you if you fall!" Sonic stands up and sings and he starts walk backwards.
"And if they laugh, then fuck 'em all!" Sonic sings putting his middle finger in the air and then he starts jumping up down.
The crowd copies him and puts their middle fingers up as well and then Sonic moves his hand down from holding it in the air and he grabs the mic with both hands, and he turns around to look at me again.
I slowly stop playing as we make eye contact and he shakes his head at me as he stares at me with sweat rolling down his chest.
"And then I got you off your knees. Put you right back on your feet. Just so you could take advantage of me…" sings directly to me on stage as the lights on stage flash different colors.
"Why is he looking at me and not at the audience… he is singing the song to because… that's how he feels…" I think as Sonic starts singing again, making me play as I noticed that I stopped.
"Tell me, how's it feel sittin' up there? Feeling so high but too far away to hold me." He sings and the anger takes over his face.
"You know I'm the one who put you up there. A name in the sky, does it ever get lonely?" Sonic sings and then he licks his lips and turn around starts to sing back to the crowd.
"SING WITH ME IF SOMEONE HAS EVER BROKE YOUR HEART AFTER YOU DID EVERYTHING FOR THEM! LET'S GO!" Sonic yells into the mic and the crowd starts to jump with Sonic as our beat drop comes again.
"I… I didn't mean too. That's not true- "
I clench my guitar angrily as Sonic was taking this too far with getting the crowd to get in on our situation we had going on and I turn my head away, angrily as the lyrics pierce through my ears.
"Thinking you could live without me. Thinking you could live without me. Baby, I'm the one who put you up there. I don't know why." Sonic sings and he gets on one knee and lean back as he puts his hand on his chest and he closes his eyes as he sings loudly.
"Thinking you could live without me. Live without me. Baby, I'm the one who put you up there. I don't know why, yeah…" Sonic sings and the stage turns back to a dark blue and he opens his eyes softly as looks at the ceiling his face goes to sad again.
"I'm sad inside, but I know it's for the best, right? You had to realize where you drew the line…" he sings as he voice starts to get quieter which is something we didn't practice during rehearsal.
I watch him as he looks like he is about to cry but then he blinks a couple of more times and he stands up.
"I would cross the line a thousand times. You've got what I need, bae, I need your spotlight." He sings and then starts to start jumping again as Tails comes in louder with his drums and he is sort of standing up as he feels his favorite part.
"Along the lines of social suicide. I refuse to die not by your side
So I'll take what I can from you, then I'll hide. And save the "Lucid Dreams" for another time." Sonic sings and then runs his hand through his hair and he continues to walk around the stage making sure all the audience can see him.
"I still hate it when you're not there…I know I should, I know I should, but no, I don't care. I still hate it when you're not there" The lights shine yellow and then they start to flicker quickly and Sonic stops moving and he turns around to me once more and I can see all the pain, irritation, enrage, sorrowful, remorseful, timid, unhappiness in his eyes.
"This life's not fair, took advantage of that…" he sings and then he takes a step towards me but this time Sonic looks like he doesn't even care about the song anymore and I start to feel angry as well since he was singing to me and not the crowd. I turn around and I turn my amp louder so it would go over his voice since I didn't want him saying words to me how I didn't feel about him.
"Tell me, how's it feel sittin' up there? Feeling so high, but too far away to hold me. You know I'm the one who put you up there" Sonic sings at me and I take a step back as his height starts to come over me.
"A name in the sky, does it ever get lonely? Thinking you could live without me." Sonic sings and I frown and start to play louder and Sonic notices making walk up closer to me and I do the same as he was starting to piss me off.
"Thinking you could live without me." Sonic sings louder and then I squeeze my shut as he sings.
"It's not true, it's not true, it's not true, it's not true, it's not true, IT'S NOT-"
Sonic pushes against me making me stumble back a bit and I open my eyes to still see him looking down on me and I feel my anger rush through my body.
"Baby, I'm the one who put you up there! I don't know why-"
I stop playing and I put my hands out forward and I push Sonic away from me making him stumble back a bit. I instantly gasp as our guitar echo in the quiet room and I notice everyone is staring at us. I look around panicked and then I look at Sonic who is looking at me in disbelief.
"I'm… I'm sor-"
I stop talking as the lights go off and the curtains close. The audience starts to talk and there is no cheering going on as Sonic and I stare at each other. Sonic drops the mic on the ground and storms off stage and I take my guitar out and I start to follow him.
I practically run off stage as I try to keep up with him and enters our lounge room angrily. I walk in as well and I place my guitar in my case angry as well and then I approach him as he turns around and walks up to me.
"Why…Why would you do that!" I yell at him and he frowns at me and points a finger at me.
"Because you won't let me have you!" he says and his words sink into my head, shutting me up quick.
Rouge and Tails busts through the door and Tails looks like he is about to cry making me panic. Rouge walks up us quickly and pushes us a part.
"What… THE…FUCK! Was that!?" Rouge yells and I look at her.
I look at Sonic and Sonic looks over to me.
"Tell her, Amy!" he yells at me and I stare, and I start shaking my head.
"… can we just talk about this later- "
Rouge grabs my shoulders roughly and looks at me in the eye.
"TALK ABOUT WHAT LATER?! WHY WERE YOU AND SONIC BASICALLY ON STAGE FIGHTING EACH OTHER? TELL US NOW!" Rouge exclaims and I start to panic.
My lips shake as I try to think of something to cover up and I hear Sonic laugh as he watches me.
"You still trying to hide the secret from them? Tell them! It's not like it matters anyway right?" he says, and I look at him.
"What… what are you saying?" I ask.
Sonic rolls his eye and then he angrily turns around and knocks off all the food and drinks off the table making a mess and we all jump at his angry behavior.
"YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN SO HOW ABOUT YOU JUST TELL THEM! THE SECRET DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE AMY! YOU ARE A SMART GIRL SO YOU KNOW WHAT I AM SAYING TO YOU!" he says, and I feel tears come to my eyes.
The room goes silent as everyone waits for me to talk and then Tails walks up.
"G-Guys… what happened. It just costed us the competition…what-"Tails starts to become upset as a tear comes down his face.
I watch Tails and bite my lip as he starts to become upset.
"Amy. Say it." Rouge says sounding hurt as well.
"I… I.. can't-"
"Okay, well since Amy can't say it. I will. You would like that wouldn't you, baby." He says and his words make everyone look at him surprised and so do I.
Rouge looks at me slowly and she walks closer to me looking me in the eye.
"Did… did he just call you baby- "
"Yep I did! Amy. Baby girl. Tell them the reason why we just fucked up on stage. Tell them what happened when we didn't go to the gas station. Tell them why we didn't answer our phone after our first performance, and we went to your place. Tell them- "
"STOP!" I yell and Sonic starts to frown again, and he walks up to me.
"Then you tell them and if you don't I will!" Sonic waits for me to say something but I just shake my head causing him to roll his eyes.
"You really want me to tell them? You know I don't have a problem at all since this is all I ever wanted to happen!" he says, and I start frown at him.
"This is all I wanted, and you still won't give me all of you." Sonic says to me and then he looks to Rouge and Tails.
"Me and Amy have been dating since our first competition." Sonic says plainly to Rouge and Tails.
Rouge and Tails look at me and then Sonic as he continues to speak.
"So, Tails you were right… I did like Amy. A lot actually since we were dating and Rouge you should have kept a better eye on me because you both read me like a book when you asked me if I like her. I did." He says.
"But now… Amy has been going behind my back and she is has been talking to Scourge all this time. While I was basically building her back together after Scourge practically destroyed her. "Sonic says and his voice cracks a bit.
"Remember when the lady came in here and told us we are going on soon and I said I was going to get Amy. I didn't because I caught her hugging her ex in the club. Yeah, Scourge is here by the way and they were out there, on the floor hugging each other looking so happy just like I wasn't in the same building or anything and then WHEN I ask her multiple times, she acted like nothing happened." Sonic says and my hands start to tremble.
"We were late because we were arguing in here about how Amy really doesn't care about me- "
"That's not true! I do care about you!" I say as I feel my voice crack too because Sonic wouldn't believe me.
"Then why didn't you not tell me. No, why can't you still tell me when you guys started to be a thing?" he says to me turning around.
I try to speak but nothing comes out of my mouth again.
"This situation is stressing me out. I can't even think properly"-
"Right… and you still won't tell me. But maybe I should go find out myself, hm?" he asks me in an angry tone.
Sonic walks out and slams the door behind him leaving me with shocked band members and friends. They both look at me and I gasp as they both look.
"Amy…please tell me that's not true." Rouge says and I look at the door and I try to find the words to say but nothing comes to mind.
"You lied to us." Tails says making me widen my eyes.
"I didn't… it. We were supposed to tell you guys afterwards but I-"
Tails takes a step back and he clenches his drumsticks in his hands.
"And you were so stuck up on me being with Cream and you was with Sonic the entire time?.. Amy why did you lie to me like that. I-I-thought- "
"Yes, Tails you right. But I didn't mean to let it stay a secret this long. I swear I didn't. I just felt so ashamed and I never knew when I could say it- "
"Amy, you know that's against the rules right. It's against the rules for a reason! And now we just went up there, in front of hundreds of people, fans and whoever was watching the livestream just for you and Sonic to have a big break up on stage!" Rouge says and I nod my head slowly understanding.
"You lied to us." Rouge says stepping back.
"I did. I'm sorry." I say as they look at me the same way Sonic did.
Rouge shakes her head and her eyes water up as she turns around to put her guitar up. Tails continues to look at me in shock and I stare at him.
"We wanted this so bad and you two…" Tails says, and I can tell he is a bit mad as well.
"I'm sorry, Tails. I don't know what else to say other than sorry." I say and they both look at me.
"You could have told us! I thought we were a band?" Rouge says and I wave my hands.
"We- we are a band- "
"This isn't a band. You two were doing stuff behind our back the whole time when you guys could have just said something!"
"I was afraid because I already broke the rules so I thought if I said something then it would- "
"Amy. Anything would have been better than what just happened on stage! Sonic practically blew up on stage and the entire time. I had no idea what he was going to pull." Tails says.
"Like even now, he left without really saying where he was going. What did he mean by finding out himself?" Rouge says angrily as she locks up her case.
I shrug my shoulders as I look at the door and then my eyes widen. My legs start moving quick as I open the door and I take down the hall.
"HE- HE COULDN'T HAVE- " I run into the club and I see people talking and dancing to the music and I look around rapidly for Sonic. My breath starts to kick up as I push through the crowd and I look around even more. I turn around completely and I see an exit door and for some reason. Sonic and Scourge walking out of the building and Sonic says something to Scourge that makes him shake his head as they leave the building.
I walk towards it as well.
"He…
I push past some people and then I open the door. The parking lot lights outside shine on the shine on the ground and I look around it. Suddenly I hear yelling in the back of the building and I shakily start taking steps towards it.
I jump as I watch Sonic push Scourge against a wall and I stand in shock as I watch him yell at Scourge.
"TELL ME! HOW LONG HAVE YOU TWO BEEN TALKING!" Sonic yells at him and Scourge looks at him insane.
"Bro. Let go of my jacket." He says getting a little pissed but Sonic pushes him against the wall again.
"TELL ME!" he yells.
"I- I have to do something- "
"Sonic. Nothing has been happening. I would have thought she told you, but she didn't, and I don't know why. So, let go of my jacket before I seriously beat your ass." Scourge says giving Sonic a chance to calm down, but Sonic wasn't buying it.
Anger kicks up in Scourge face and he walks up to Sonic, pressing his chest up to his.
"This has nothing to do with me. How about you go…" Scourge removes Sonic's hands from him, and Sonic stands back a bit. "…talk to your girlfriend, instead of bitching to me!" Scourge says and pushes Sonic and Sonic eyes go wide with rage.
Sonic pushes Scourge back only for Scourge to catch his hands and then try to move Sonic's hand away from him. Sonic runs at Scourge making him hit the wall. Scourge wraps his arm around Sonic head putting him in a choke hold under his armpit and Sonic bends over as he tries to get out of it.
"SONIC! QUIT IT!" Scourge yells and Sonic grabs onto Scourge shirt slams his back into the wall.
Scourge then grabs Sonic body and pushes him on the ground and then jumps on top of him. Sonic stops him from getting on top of him fully and he places his foot on Scourge torso keeping him away from his body.
Scourge also moves closer to him and Sonic places his hands on his shirt keeping him away. Sonic then slaps Scourge right in the face making him angrier and then Scourge brings his arm all the back and puts his hand in a fist.
I try to move my legs, but they feel like glue. I try to move my mouth, but my throat is so dry, as my arm moves out to try to stop them.
"I… have to do something or- "
"WHAM!"
