capture the flag - split

Sirius is a mad genius. Peter won't admit it, James won't admit it, Remus especially won't admit it, but it's true. None of them understand the way he thinks, or his drive for doing most of what he does, but that's not going to stop him.
He has a very specific goal, one that he's determined to achieve, despite none of his friends supporting him.
Sirius Black needs to find — or maybe even make — the perfect banana split.
It's all Remus' fault, in truth. Without him, Sirius wouldn't have even heard of a banana split in the first place. Which is why it's only right that Remus helps him on his quest.
That's the reason Sirius is draped over Remus' lap right now, whining that he needs Remus' help. Remus doesn't want to give in now, but Sirius will see to it that he will.
"Isn't it only judged on taste?" Remus asks, flipping the page of his book.
"Yes," Sirius says, trying to shift so Remus is forced to look at him.
"So there's no one 'best' banana split," Remus reasons. "It's different for every person."
"But it's my taste that will determine the best split ever," Sirius explains, "because I think I should be the leading expert in banana splits."
"You didn't know what one was until a year ago," Remus points out. Sirius decides to ignore that fact and continues his discussion.
"I think that there can't be too many nuts," he says, considering his ingredients. "I mean, I like nuts as much as the next guy" — Remus snorts — "but too much can overpower the ice cream taste. Also, not too much caramel. It gets too sticky."
"Ah, yes," Remus says, still focusing on his book instead of on Sirius. "I hate eating stick nuts."
Sirius lightly smacks him in the side. "Remus. This is serious!"
"No, you are," Remus says, out of habit. He still sighs and bookmarks his book, putting it to the side. "If I help you find the best split, will you shut up?"
Sirius grins.
