Bella closed her eyes as she tried to remember the paler than normal vampires face. It had been two weeks since old quill's passing and Two weeks since the pack and the Cullen's decided to work together. After old quill died, everything had gone to chaos. Quill had locked himself inside his room and the pack itself had fallen into a dark depression. To make things worse, there had not been any appearance of Kim until a few hours ago. The change was supposed to last three days, so why did Kim appear two weeks later? It was then Bella began to realize that there was more at play. The ones who had turned Kim had more power than they thought, and one thing Bella knew for sure was that they were watching them. So, in the midst of the pack's depression and grief they needed to come up with a plan.

Alice hadn't been any help and Bella was wary of Edward. The three wolves she had seen the night old quill died hadn't appeared and honestly, all of them were at a loss. The spirits had been silent, and she didn't understand why.

It wasn't until she and Jared had a dream about seeing Kim that their plan had been put in place.

Bella would be bait much to everyone's disagreement, she would at least get Kim's attention and then the pack and the Cullen's would handle the rest.

However, Bella wouldn't be alone. Jared would be part of the plan as well. Not knowing if the threat would be watching, Jared would play the bereaved and broken imprint. He would show signs of anger and resentment, he even had to be mean to Bella. While it was just an act, it still hurt but just as Bella lost hope, something caught her eye. While Kim was being restrained and Jared had been brought to her, she saw him. Miles away sitting on a tree branch was a vampire with snow-white hair and blood-red eyes.

At that moment, Bella felt all the depression and grief melt off of her. In place of that was anger. Righteous anger. So, with boldness, she looked directly at the male and said "we. Are. coming. For you."

As soon as the male disappeared Bella called for Sam and Carlisle, they needed to gather everyone now.

They decided to meet in the Cullen's backyard. As everyone began to gather, Bella watched as jasper and Emmett dragged Kim inside the house and closed the door.

"She doesn't remember anything." a tired voice said

Bella turned to see Jared walking towards looking broken.

"I know. Most vampires don't remember their human lives. Are you alright?"

Jared pulled her into his chest and let out a low rumble.

"no, Chabelita, we are not. We just had to watch our former mate try to kill our current one and to make matters worse, I had to say things to you I didn't mean. You know I didn't mean any of that right. It was just an act. I swear none of it was real." He pleaded

"Jared, I know that. it was my idea. It ok."

Jared let out another rumble and said "no its fucking not. My words hurt you. I know they did so don't freaking lie to me. you've been doing that a lot lately. Pretending everything is ok when its not. I mean everyone has grieved old quill in some way except for you. You don't have to put up an Act for me babe. I know your hurting. We all know your hurting. Just let me- let us help you."

Bella gently pushed herself out of Jared's embrace.

"I don't have time to break down right now Jared. I just can't. But I promise…when I'm ready…ill come to you. I swear."

Jared went to say something, but Sam interrupted them.

"Bella. were ready."

Bella sighed as she looked around. The pack and the Cullen's had sat down on logs, Emmet and Rosalie had dragged in. Her eyes scanned the crowd and stopped when Edwards golden eyes bore into her now brown ones. Bella's breathe hitched. Immediately Taka Aki's warning rang in her ears.

You must be careful. The mind reader is still in love with you. And he will do everything in is power to sway you. Do not be swayed Bella swan. I warn you…do not be swayed."

Bella broke eye contact with Edward and spoke.

"First, a great job in capturing Kim. I know it was unsettling for us but that parts over for now. so, our suspicion of someone watching us was correct. I saw him as Kim was being restrained."

A chorus of hisses and growls rang out before Carlisle asked

"what did they look like Bella? maybe Alice can draw a sketch."

"What! I am not wasting my good talents on-"

"you will Alice! If you want to continue to live the life we do, then you will help. Go get your sketch pad." Carlisle hissed.

Bella was surprised. After Edward hurt her, she noticed that the coven leader had been firmer with all his coven mates. And another thing to surprise her was that most of them were taking it rather well Except for Alice of course. Matter of fact, Alice was the only one who given her trouble since they began working together. She hadn't heard a peep out of Rosalie and ever since old quills death Edward had not approached her, but she knew it was just a matter of time before he would.

Once Alice came back with her sketch pad, Bella began her description.

"He had blood-red eyes. White hair and almost translucent skin. It was weird because it was pale but yet somehow different I mean i-"

Bella was interrupted by a loud roar and before she knew it Edward had her backed up against the nearest tree.

This, of course, had the pack in defense mode. All of them trembling to await Sam's orders. However, it was Jared who was the most upset.

"Get away from my mate mind reader!" Jared growled.

Edward, in turn, let out an earsplitting roar.

And then within seconds, an aura of calm washed over them. Jasper was standing on the front porch looking exhausted and yet upset.

"Everyone please calm down. And Edward let Bella go. Now."

"He will not touch her!" Edward roared.

"Everyone shut up and tell me what is happening. Who is the guy I saw?"

Carlisle sighed and looked a Bella with a grave look in his eyes

"The vampire you saw …was Vladimir. He and another male are one fo the oldest vampires alive…they were in charge of our world before the Volturi took over. However, the Volturi wiped out their whole coven except for Stephen and Vladimir and if you saw Vladimir then that means Stephen isn't too far behind. Whatever this is…it's bigger than we expected."

Bella felt her body go limp. Older vampires? Older than the Volturi? And they were watching them. Targeting them! Why? Why? It didn't make any sense why would….

"oh my god!" Bella suddenly shouted.

Everyone looked towards her.

"love?" Edward asked, "what is it?"

Jared growled and without warning lunged towards Edward.

Edward lunged forward, giving Bella an escape. However, Bella wasn't focused on the fighting males. Her mind was elsewhere and so was her spirit.

There was a war coming on their lands and they needed a way to stop it. They couldn't do it alone.

In a trance-like state Bella walked towards the forest. She knew someone was following her, but right now...she just didn't care.
