Scene 26

Kaiya had just sent word back to Tsunade about the rumors being true about Orochimaru being defeated by Sasuke Uchiha.

She wondered if that had been Sasuke's plan all along.

To use the snake and then slay it.

All in efforts to become stronger than his brother Itachi.

Kaiya was staying alone in a bathhouse when she laid her head down on a pillow.

Thinking to herself, 'Kakashi must know by now.'

She sighed and rolled over.

Strangely though, her last thoughts before falling asleep were about someone she didn't want.

Orochimaru

Kaiya was crying in the corner of her room.

It was lonely and she was tired.

"Oh, my poor little bird." opened the door.

For a brief second Kaiya saw another figure behind Orochimaru,

But then the door shut.

Orochimaru went to Kaiya, sitting next to her.

She was already in a corner crying and now felt deeper into it.

Stuck.

"Orochimaru, how come I can never leave?" Kaiya asked nervously.

Instantly the air of the room changed.

"You want to leave me Kaiya?" Orochimaru asked in response.

She can sense his anger.

"No, I'm sorry Orochimaru." she quickly apologized.

He stood up and pushed her body down.

Kicking her.

"Never ask such things you ungrateful brat!" Orochimaru yelled.

"You'll never leave. You have to stay here for Lord Orochimaru. You're mine!"

Kaiya didn't understand. She just continued to apologize.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.

Kaiya woke up and began to get ready for the day.

Was her mission over now that she confirmed her feeling that Orochimaru was finally gone?

She didn't know.

In the mirror, Kaiya looked at her naked body.

Covered in scars.

Each one told a story.

Each one she remembered.

The worst being the ones on her back.

The snake whip.

Kaiya put her clothes on and tried to forget those times.

When she wouldn't be good enough and Orochimaru would hurt her.

He wasn't always mad at her though.

Sometimes Orochimaru would be sad when he'd visit her.

The door opened.

"Kaiya?' Orochimaru whispered, 'My little bird?"

Kaiya sat up from sleeping.

She was confused.

Orochimaru looked like he had been crying.

"My bird, please hug me," he begged. "I'm sorry I'm mean to you, I promise I won't be mean anymore."

Hugging Kaiya.

She'd nod.

But even as a young child, Kaiya knew those words were lies.

Orochimaru would hurt her every time he saw her.

Slithering against her skin.

Hurting her a different way each time.

Each visit was a nightmare.

Back then Orochimaru was all she had.

It was now time for Kaiya to venture off again.

Grabbing her bag and sword.

When she got to the woods she decided to walk instead of travel on Moro.

Learning of Orochimaru's death only prompted uncertainty for Kaiya.

Confusion.

Kaiya then decided she needed to find Sasuke.

The killer of her abuser.

She didn't know why she needed to find Sasuke, but Kaiya knew she would figure it out.
