Thank you for the reviews on my last chapters
"KYLE!" Belle screams as she watches his head slam into the hard ground.
"Crap!" Colby shouts as he flings his bag on the ground and rushes over to the teen to help Bianca.
"What's wrong with him?" Belle demands to know.
"Someone keep her back!" Colby yells at no one in particular.
"Kyle?" Bianca says calmly as she tries to wake him up.
"Bianca?"
"WHAT?!"
"What do you need me to do?" Colby asks her, trying his best to help in the situation.
"Grab the bottle of water from my bag and quickly." Bianca asks him as she tries to get Kyle to wake up "Come on Kyle, I need you to open your eyes for me."
"Here." Colby says handing her the water.
Putting it down beside her, she keeps speaking calmly to Kyle until eventually he starts to open his eyes: "There's those big brown eyes we all know and love."
"Wh what hap happened?" Kyle weakly asks her.
"You collapsed mate." Colby says from the other side of him.
Trying to sit up, Bianca and Colby push him back down again, Bianca tells him: "Kyle just stay lying down for a couple more mins while we check your head as you hit it off the ground."
"I'm fine." Kyle tells her.
"No, Kyle you're not." Belle suddenly says out of no where "You just passed out. You're not fine and you haven't been for a couple of days."
"Belle, just give him a minute." Rocco said knowing the reason behind the collapse in the first place.
Ignoring the teen, Colby says to Bianca: "Does this have anything to do with his medication?"
Sitting up, Kyle asks: "What's he on about Bianca?"
Sighing Bianca knows she has to tell Kyle what she did: "I told him."
"What?"
"Colby knows Kyle."
"You, you had no right to tell anyone." Kyle says starting to get worked up.
"Kyle you need to calm down as it will only make the situation worse."
"Don't tell me to calm down!" Kyle suddenly shouts.
"Kyle, I'm not going to tell anyone don't worry." Colby says not noticing the look on Bianca's face.
Listening to the conversation, Belle, Xavier and Ryan are all confused as none of them have any idea what's going on.
"Sorry to interrupt, but can someone tell us what the hell is going on?" Xavier asks.
"Kyle?" Belle asks him as she wipes the tears from her face with the arm that isn't broken.
"Do you want me to tell them?"
"What? Like you told Colby?"
"I did that, so I had someone else helping me to keep an eye on you."
"What about Rocco?"
"Don't bring me into it mate." Rocco said holding his hands up.
"I meant adult wise Kyle."
"Still doesn't change it though." Kyle seethed at her "But no, I'll do it this time."
"Only if your sure." Bianca says looking at Colby as she does.
Taking a deep breath, Kyle informs the remaining three: "I have CKD."
"CK, what now?" Xavier asks as he didn't understand what Kyle was on about.
"CKD or Chronic Kidney Disease, I first found out about it a year before I came to live in the bay. Remember when I ended up in hospital a year and half ago?"
"Yeah, Casey was really worried and so was Rocco." Belle said as she thought back.
"Yeah well, that's because I passed out in the restaurant which lead to my family finding out."
"Hadn't you been living in the Bay for a while at that point?" Xavier said.
"Yeah, I had managed to keep it a secret up till then."
"How? Because I guess you would need regular check-ups. Unless…"
"If you're thinking that's why I was always busy after school every couple of weeks or disappeared during lunch then your correct Belle."
"Why didn't you say anything?" Belle wondered "Even to me?"
"Because when I first found out and I went to school afterwards all my friends stopped talking to me. I spent every lunch on my own and when I wasn't at school I was on my own because no one wanted to hang out with the freak, or I was at doctor's appointments."
"So, that's why you haven't told anybody." Xavier said.
"Yep and Belle I didn't tell you because the last girl I fancied and had gone on a date with wanted nothing to do with me once I got diagnosed and I didn't want you to do that as well." Kyle told her.
Walking over to him, Belle bent down and kissed Kyle before saying: "I would never have done that Kyle."
"I know but I didn't want to take the risk considering all those people before had known me pretty much my whole life." Kyle said as she took his hand.
"Well, Kyle we promise we won't do that." Xavier told him as he walked over to join the couple "And, if you don't want us to tell anyone else, we won't we promise."
"Thanks guys I appreciate that." Kyle said then turned to look at his sister in law "Bianca, I'm sorry for having ago at you."
"That's ok Kyle, but I guess we know now that only one tablet a day isn't going to cut it." Bianca said but then she notices the look on Kyle's face "Kyle? What have you done?"
"Don't have ago but I haven't been having one a day."
"And why not?"
"Because I dropped them the other day and lost two."
"Please tell me your joking."
"No, I'm not." Kyle says "I didn't mean to but my hands were shaking and it happened accidently, so I've been biting them in half and having half a day."
"Exactly when did you drop two out the eight you had?"
"Three days ago."
"Brilliant, just brilliant." Bianca sighs "Brax is going to go mental when we get home."
"Let's not worry about what this Brax is going to do right now." Ryan suddenly says reminding everyone that he was still there "What we need to focus on is what are we going to do about his tablets."
"Well, by my calculations, the day we crashed he'd had one that morning so, he waited till the next day which is when he probably dropped them. Am I right so far?"
"Pretty much." Kyle told her from where he was sat as Colby tried to clean the cut on his forehead the best he could.
"Right so that means, you would have had six left and if you've only been taking half a day, you should four and half left."
"Yep."
"So, if they run out what's going to happen?" Xavier asks.
"Well if I run out before we are found, I'm going to be a lot worse than just collapsing."
"How much worse?" Rocco asked because even he didn't know about this part.
"Em, you really don't want to know the answer to that trust me."
"Why not?"
"Because CKD is split up in stages with 1 being normal kidney functions and 5 being the worst meaning you would need dialysis until a kidney becomes available."
"Right, still not giving us anything. Like what stage are you, if that's the case?" Ryan asks the teen.
"Stage 3B."
"And how bad is that Kyle?"
"It means my kidneys are only working between 30%-44% of what a normal kidney should."
"Great, so you're basically saying that if you run out of tablets before we are found there's a big chance that they could stop working altogether?" Belle quizzed him.
"That's exactly what I'm saying." Kyle said to her.
Looking around at everyone, Colby stands up and says: "Well if that's the case we better get a move on and start looking for help."
Everyone agrees with that as now that they have a reason to get home that's bigger than just their loved ones, they want to start moving as quickly as possible.
"Do you think you will be ok to start walking?" Colby asks the teen.
"I should be now thanks." Kyle said as he reached for Colby's hands that were there to help him up.
"Right, Ryan which way should we be going?" Xavier asked the pilot.
"This way." Ryan replied as he pointed in the direction.
With that they all start following Ryan, with Belle helping Kyle as he slowly moved.
As they started to follow Ryan, Rocco asked Colby: "Are we sure about this?"
"Absolutely." Colby tells him before saying "Come on guys this way."
