Ultimate Angels
Yugi, Duke, and the Kaiba brothers found themselves standing before the front gate to the castle. It was heavily guarded with Devidramon. "How will we get past the Devidramon?" Mokuba asked.
"Just leave it to us," Guilmon insisted, and he and Agumon digivolve into their champion forms. Growlmon attacks with his Pyro Blaster and Greymon attacks with his Nova Blast.
"So much for a quiet entrance," Duke said sarcastically. Nonetheless, he and the others began charging in. Their path was blocked again by a green beast-like Digimon called Tuskmon. Monodramon digivolved into Dinohumon and began fighting with him. "Yugi, you and Patamon go on ahead. We'll catch up." Yugi thanked him and continued his path to the tower.
Finally, Myotismon appeared before Max and Emily and their Digimon. "I've got you now, my pretties," he said menacingly.
"Myotismon," Emily whispered. Gatomon and Kyubimon got down on their paws and bared their teeth and growled at the vampire. The girls looked at each other, sharing the same concerns about their capture.
"I know you're not like the other Digidestined," Myotismon was telling them. "In fact, I know the secrets of your powers. I heard about two magically talented girls endowed with the powers of ancient beings from your world. If that's true, then it's no wonder my masters deemed you threatening."
This was enough for the girls to confirm that there was a Digimon with a shard of the Cobalt Star, but Myotismon said he had many masters. The fox and the feline were confused. "What do you mean, Myotismon?" Kyubimon asked.
"Gatomon, Kyubimon, I'm sure even the two of you must've noticed it by now; that your tamers aren't like the other humans."
The two Digimon began thinking back. They had noticed it. Emily mentioned that she had wings and could fly and Max was adaptable to hot and cold temperatures. The Digimon could also sense a faint power emanating from their tamers' bodies.
"Your tamers are magicians," Myotismon told the fox and the feline. "Max masters in the arts of dark magic and Emily specializes in pure magic. The secret of Max's power is those jewels around her neck and Emily's power comes from a star that rests inside her heart."
The two Digimon look back at their partners, wondering if it's true. The girls nod at their Digimon.
"It's true that my masters are threatened by the presence of all the Digidestined," continued Myotismon, "but they are more worried about these two girls and that they may use their powers. So I have orders to destroy the both of them."
"We won't let you!" Kyubimon declared and began digivolving. "Kyubimon, digivolve to… Taomon!" She unleashed her Thousand Spell and it began colliding with Myotismon's Grizzly Wing.
Knowing Taomon can't handle him on her own, Max tells Emily, "Emily, you've got to make Gatomon digivolve."
"I've been trying, but nothing's been working," the blonde told her. Taomon stopped her attack and shielded herself and her friends inside her Sacred Seal.
Yugi finally showed up and saw Taomon struggling against Myotismon's power. He and Patamon face each other and nod. "Patamon, digivolve to… Angemon!" Yugi was delighted to see Angemon again after all this time. The angel Digimon flies behind Myotismon and strikes him with his staff.
The vampire grunts of pain and turns around. "Angemon, they must be desperate to have summoned you here," he growled.
"Angemon," Taomon said in astonishment.
"Are you all right, Taomon?" the angel asked.
"Yes, thanks to you," she replied. She also looked back and saw the girls still holding each other. She smiles at them, promising it'll be all right. "Angemon, shall we take him?"
"Let's go," he answered. He continued trying to strike the vampire with his staff and Taomon tried reaching for him with her claws.
Meanwhile, Joey, Bakura, Tristan, Téa, and Serenity made it to the castle and met up with the others. Mokuba was the first to notice them. "You all made it!" he cheered.
Joey looked around. "Where's Yugi?"
"He went on ahead to the tower Myotismon returned to," Duke answered. "That may be where he's keeping the girls."
"We have to hurry," Kaiba warned them. "After seeing Myotismon's power firsthand, Yugi won't stand much of a chance." His friends understood and agreed.
"Hold on, most of the Digimon are wounded," said Serenity.
"I can help with that," Crescemon said. She began using her lunar power to heal her comrades. Rapidmon was also beginning to recover from the effects of Myotismon's Nightmare Claw. With their energy restored, the Digimon could head to the tower and they along with their partners could help their friends.
Garudamon got there first, carrying Zudomon and their partners. Antylamon and Crescemon climbed up the tower after her while carrying Téa and Serenity. Rapidmon flew after Garudamon with Bakura riding on his back. "Hang on, guys," Joey shouted. "We're here to help!" He jumped off of Garudamon and approached Max and Emily. "Are you girls all right?"
"Don't worry, we're fine," Max answered. "But the Digimon need help." They watched and saw Angemon and Taomon being whiplashed by Myotismon's Crimson Lightning.
Garudamon unleashed her Wing Blades, Rapidmon launched his Rapid Fire, and Zudomon struck the ground with his Vulcan Hammer. Using his mind powers, Myotismon stops their attacks. He also sees Crescemon coming and strikes her with his Crimson Lighting. She loses her coordination and crashes into Antylamon.
"Oh, that's got to hurt," the vampire commented. He cried out in pain as he was attacked from behind once again. The attack came from Dinohumon's halberd. Myotismon turned around and saw Dinohumon and Greymon and Growlmon.
"Have you had enough or do you want more?" Kaiba asked.
The vampire grinned and said, "Actually, I was just about to ask you that." He was about to strike them with his Nightmare Claw, but Angemon intercepted with his Angel Staff. This was the three dragons' chance to digivolve to their ultimate forms. Once more, they tried to attack, but Myotismon stopped them.
Emily remained on her knees holding Gatomon. "I can't just sit here like a coward," she scolded herself. "I've got to do something. They need my help." But she looked down at her digivice and noticed that it remained inactive. If I could only help Gatomon digivolve. She looked back at Myotismon again. No, I can't be concerned about that right now. She gently sets Gatomon down.
The feline was confused. "What's wrong, Emily?"
"I've got to try to stop that monster," she declared. "He's been after us from the beginning. If I just turn away and hide, everyone will be fighting for nothing and he'll only continue hurting those I love," she turns around and tells her partner, "even you." She gets down and says, "I love you, Gatomon and I don't want to lose you. You're just as special and important to me as the rest of our friends."
Tears began filling Gatomon's eyes. She jumps up to the blonde and hugs her. "I love you too, Emily. And I would never forgive myself if anything happened to you."
"Thank you, Gatomon," Emily said gratefully. "You've always been there for me. Now it's my turn." She releases her partner and stands up. But Gatomon anticipates her partner's actions and steps in front of her.
Myotismon becomes intrigued. "Your consideration for your friends is admirable, but it will do you no good. But I think I'll deal with you first." He unleashes his Grizzly Wing on Gatomon. Emily grabs her partner into her arms and gets down, curled up like a ball to shield herself and her friend.
All of their friends look in shock, fearing for their lives. "You're more foolhardy than the others," Myotismon told Emily, "using yourself as a shield."
Gatomon agreed. "Why did you do that, Emily?"
She smiles weakly and answers, "It's no big deal. You're always protecting me. But I would've done the same thing for the others." She groans of pain and says, "You're my Digimon, Gatomon, so I'm supposed to take care of you. And most of all, like I said, I love you."
That was when her digivice began shining, displaying the symbol of her element on screen.
Yugi was afraid Myotismon was going to finish her and Gatomon off, so he hurried to their side. "Don't worry, Emily, I'm staying right here with you."
Then his digivice began glowing, showing the symbol of his element. "Yugi, your courage is giving me greater strength," Angemon told him. "I can digivolve!"
"So can I!" Gatomon cried. "I can feel Emily's love!" She began to be enveloped by the white light coming from Emily's digivice. "Gatomon, digivolve to… Angewomon!" She looked similar to Angemon except the robe around her arms was pink instead of blue and her white clothes were more revealing and only covered a little bit of her body and she had light blonde hair and eight wings and her face was concealed with a silver helm.
Angemon was enveloped with a blue light coming from Yugi's digivice. "Angemon, digivolve to… MagnaAngemon!" He now sported a white armor and his helm turned purple and he also had eight wings.
Yugi and Emily looked at their partners in astonishment. "They digivolved together," said Yugi.
"Would you look at that?" Emily wondered.
"Myotismon," Angewomon was saying, "you tried to turn Digimon against each other in your pursuit of attempting to destroy the Digidestined. By doing so, you have brought misery to the Digimon and the Digidestined alike. How can you justify yourself?"
"I don't have to explain anything to you," he shouted. "It is my destiny to eliminate the Digidestined and no angel can stop me."
"Myotismon," MagnaAngemon was saying, "don't you have any regrets about what you've done?"
The vampire had no regrets, but he didn't answer. He was about to attack, but Angewomon stopped him using her Heaven's Charm. Its holy power rendered him immobile and it also began filling her comrades with immense energy. "Everyone, give your power to Angewomon!" Antylamon cried. All the Digimon used their special attacks on the zone above the feminine angel, allowing her to absorb their attacks to increase her own power. She reached her left arm towards Myotismon and her glove created lines to make it look like a bow. She created a Celestial Arrow and took aim for the vampire and shot him. After that, MagnaAngemon used his sword Excalibur to create a portal to the Digital Netherworld, banishing Myotismon there forever.
