I know I'm gonna get hate and death threats shoved up the ass for this, but I don't hate the new trilogy. But if I were rewriting it, is it any indication that I think it's perfect? Of course not! But what I'm doing here is reintroducing familiar elements but putting new spins on them. So try to keep an open mind here, okay?

29. Ch 26 Bennold's Arrest

The camera then reveals that Finn, Rey, and Chewbacca made it back alive with Bennold as their prisoner. Holdo raises her voice in an exasperated tone. "Vice Chancellor Bennold! Is it true that you have been collaborating with the New Order?" Finn answers, "Yep. Saw him using a class theta keycard to enter the escape pod bay. Only high-ranking officers are allowed to have them to access certain areas."

Holdo stands up and slams her hands on the table. "Bennold Dictar of Kokash! You are hereby placed under arrest for high treason against the New Republic!" Two guards enter the room. "Get that disgusting creature out of my sight!" They then take him away. "No! Wait! You don't understand! I was framed! I-I was-" The door closes as he and the guards leave. "I'm going to have a thorough investigation of the Senate. Who knows how many more collaborators the New Order has among us?"
