Guest - Like Elijah said, Rebekah just needs some time…

It was a new day when they arrived back in Mystic Fall, mid-afternoon to be more precise. Klaus had snapped Stefan's neck once more before stepping out of the large vehicle that held his daggered family.
Walking over to the car that followed in tow, Rebekah and Sabrina stepped out.
"Go sit with Stefan for a bit Rebekah," he instructed his sister who walked into the back of the truck without question.
Sabrina looked anywhere else but towards him. Catching on to the averting gaze Klaus walked towards the car, stopping in front of her.
"If you have anything else you'd like to get off your chest now would be the time to share, love."
She could tell that his initial anger was gone, most likely from taking it out on Stefan. Sabrina was fully aware of how his temperament could change. But staying silent also had its risks.
"Promise me that you won't be angry," she said quietly looking at him with doe eyes.
"I'm not going to make a promise I can't keep," he snapped.
Sabrina bit her lip in silence.
"Sabrina," his tone suggested now wasn't the time to push him.
"You need to remember that you killed my best friend," she told him hesitantly.
"And for that I won't kill you."
"But you'll take it out on someone," she speculated.
"I don't have the patience for this. I'll find my answer elsewhere," he said turning around and heading for the town square.
"Wait!" the loud cry made him turn back around. "Elena," she breathed out with a sigh.
"What about her?" he asked walking back.
"We didn't think it would do anything. I didn't know that, we didn't know how it would exactly..." She rambled, trying to find the right way to say it without angering him any further.
"If I have to ask you one more time," Klaus warned.
She relented with a nod. "She's alive."
His face went stoical. She couldn't read the emotion on his face but she knew it was anything but positive.
"Where is she?" his voice hide faux calmness as he gritted his teeth.
Sabrina felt like giving in would be the better option, no one needed Klaus angrier than he already was, and if he had to scour the whole town to find her he'd be even more pissed.
"Wait till tonight, it's senior prank night at the school, she'll be there." He nodded.
Before he turned away Sabrina made a last minute attempt to save her friend. "I don't think killing her is the answer to your hybrid problem."
"You don't think?" he repeated with a scoff.
"The original witch wouldn't have made it that easy for you."
The expressionless look was back on his face as he knew there was some truth in what she said. "So what is I need to do?"
"I don't know. You'll need an actual witch for that." Since she was telling all Sabrina thought she might as well give a lead to calm him a little. "Bonnie should be with them. She might have the answer you're looking for."
"Then let's make this a little more interesting. You find me the solution before Bonnie and I'll undagger Elijah."
"And how am I meant to do that?" she retorted.
"We're back in Mystic Falls Sabrina," he said gesturing to the town around them. "The birthplace of the doppelganger, the home of the vampires and witches', this town holds the answer. And what a perfect time for your visions to make a re-appearance."
Her chest began to rise and fall at a heavy rate. This was Klaus' way of hurting her for the role she played in keeping secrets from him.
"You know the effect leaving this town had on my visions. We had to go to Chicago before they somewhat returned. They're not just going to revert back to Mystic falls in a day." She exclaimed.
She shook her head in disbelieve as Klaus' said nothing watching her internal conflict.
"You want him back, find a solution to my hybrid problem." He left her stood by the car as he walked back into the back of the truck.

Sabrina found comfort in the familiarity of the Mystic Grill. Taking a seat at an empty booth after ordering the coffee which she desperately desired she pulled out her phone and began dialling the number of a friend she knew wasn't busy.
"Free for a drink?"
"Sabrina?" Alaric was confused by her question and the call.
"How quickly can you make it to the Grill?" she asked.
"Your back in town? What about Klaus and Stefan?"
"I'll explain when you get here," she replied. "Please Alaric, I'm in need a drinking buddy."
"Give me a few minutes, I'll be there soon." She placed the phone on the table as the waiter brought over her coffee. Giving him a quite thank you she picked up the cup and took a sip of the familiar brew she'd missed.
Placing the cup down she started to wonder if the vision would eventually come back. She never tried to force them mainly because it was easier without them. But recently they've proved to come in useful when needing to find something out sooner rather than later.
Squinting her eyes shut as tight as she could, Sabrina began to focus on what Klaus had said. Thinking back to the countless times the word doppelganger was mentioned in conversations, the ritual that took place in the quarry, the times Bonnie had to use her magic to save them. She tried hard to vividly remember Klaus' attempts to make new hybrid.
"Sabrina?" Alaric's voice startled her. Opening her eyes with a gasp she watched the salt holder in the middle of the table broke into three pieces. "What are you doing?"
She sighed looking at the broken pieces of glass, this was going to be a whole other headache she thought to herself. Getting up she turned to Alaric and pulled him into a hug.
"It's good to see you Alaric," she murmured.
"You too Sabrina." His arm wrapping around her.
"Do I get an explanation for that too?" he asked pointing to the salt shaker as they pulled apart.
"Take a seat."

"So he's not going to kill her?" Alaric asked when Sabrina finished her story.
"I don't know. I don't think so." She felt like banging her head against the table repetitively. "When did this get so hard Alaric?"
Sabrina's phone rang stopping him from answering her.
"If you're being held against your will or dying I can't help you," she spoke monotonously into the phone.
"You were right, about Mikael."
"So this isn't a social call?"
"We're-"
"Who's we?"
"Damon and I are trying to get Jeremy to find out the exact location of Mikael." Sabrina's eyes widened at the mention of Elena's brother.
Alaric gave her a concerned look. He motioned her to tell her what was going on, Sabrina shook her head brushing him off knowing that mentioning it might make this worse.
"I still don't see the point of this call Katherine," she said turning her attention back to the call.
"Anna won't tell Jeremey where he is and we thought you might know."
"Anna as in your friend Pear's Anna, Jeremy's ex-girlfriend Anna?" she questioned while still looking at Alaric, a look of indifference accompanied a shrug.
Sabrina quietly groaned in frustration at the sheer mess of everything. "Charlotte."
"That's it?"
"I'm not an encyclopaedia, Katherine," she remarked before hanging up.
"I guess it's my turn for story time," Alaric suggested taking in the look of irritation on her face.
Sabrina raised an eyebrow at the history teacher before furrowing her brows together.
"Twenty minutes. If Bonnie hasn't found a solution by then, I want you to feed again. Only this time, I want you to feed on Elena."
"The original witch says the doppelgänger should be dead."
"Does that mean we can kill her?"
Feeling the familiar onset of pain, she reached over to massage her forehead.
"If he doesn't feed, he'll die"
"Well, that's a good sign."
"Sabrina what is it, what's wrong?" Alaric's voice called out in the background.
"You're taking my blood?"
"It's very important for your friend Klaus"
"Sabrina!" the voice was louder and began to echo. She winced in pain feeling Alaric's hand on her shoulder, trying to comfort her but the discomfort showed no signs of stopping.
"The doppelgänger isn't the problem. Her blood is the solution."
"I'm never drinking again," she groaned while opening her eyes. Her peripheral vision began to refocus as the pain grew less intense.
"Well at least no glasses broke this time," Alaric commented.
"Elena's not the problem she's the solution."
"It's good to have you back 'Brina," Alaric said seeing her smile
She suddenly sat up from the table and began searching in her pockets for money to pay for the coffee.
"I need to get to the school before Stefan feeds from Elena," she said in realisation. In a hurry she placed the bank notes on the table. "I'll see you later Alaric."
"Does that mean you're staying?" She turned back around and looked at him taking a sip from his own drink.
Another smile graced her face. "You've got a lot of explaining to do Mr. Saltzman."

Running into the school gym was a waste of time. Sabrina stopped to see the dead bodies of Chad and Danna lying on the floor. Silently muttering to herself she walking back into the hall way.
"Turn it off!" She whipped her hear around at the familiar shrill that echoed along the corridors.
Sabrina hurried her pace down the hallway and into the cafeteria when she heard a scream.
"Stop! Make him stop," she shouted between breathes as Klaus and her watched Stefan going ripper mode on Elena.
"It's her blood," she heaved still trying to catch her breath. "You need her blood in order for the transition to be successful."
"How do I know you're not just telling what I want to hear to save Elena?" he asked walking up to her as she used a pillar to support self.
"For old times sake, and because I know how much you like to hear it," she began while he stood in front of her. "I give you my word, Klaus."
The smile on his face grew as he turned to Stefan. "Enough, ripper."
Letting go of Elena her body limped to the floor. Klaus walked over to an unconscious Elena and held a small vial near her open wound, collecting the blood.
"Get her to the hospital, I'm going to need more blood," he told Stefan as he stood up.
"Thank you, love."
"I'm going with him," she said as he stopped beside her.
Klaus turned his head to Stefan who picked up Elena. "Sabrina's in charge." smirking back at the girl he walked out of the cafeteria.

The pair stood behind the window watching the nurse attach tubing to Elena to collect blood.
"He finally did it, pushed you to edge," she said holding a cup of hospital coffee in her hand. "So what now?" she turned her head to the vampire.
"Klaus wants me to keep an eye on her." Sabrina was quick with a reply but wasn't able to vocalise it.
"Don't try to reason with me Sabrina, I'm trying to prepare myself for the earache I'm going to get from Elena and Damon. One summer together doesn't mean you can fix me."
"Hmm," she hummed. "I here I thought we were making good progress on our relationship," she said putting the coffee cup in the bin beside the nurse's station.
"I'm not going to bother Stefan. Humanity or not I don't care." Stefan crossed his arms and looked at the girl.
"It really doesn't bother you? You know I'll kill anyone that gets in the way right?"
"You mean like you've been doing all summer?" she folded her own arms. "It doesn't bother me because I know it won't last."
"See this is you reasoning with me." Stefan rolling his eyes.
"No, I'm just giving you something to prepare for. Once this stage of your ripper phase is over and all that emotion comes pouring back in, you'll remember me warning you and regret the people you pushed away."
"It's not gonna work 'Brina."
"Don't screw it up for yourself Stefan," she said walking away.

It seemed like old habits were hard to break. Sabrina was back at the Grill trying to prepare herself to walk back into the house she hadn't been in since Jenna's funeral.
"Thought I might find you here, love."
She turned her head as Klaus walked around and sat opposite her. "Coffee?"
"I think I consumed enough alcohol this summer to last me half my lifetime," she replied picking up the cup and taking a sip.
"I'm going away for a while, in my absence I'm leaving Stefan to watch Elena," he began. "While I know he's more than capable I want you to keep an eye on him."
"Why should I do anything you ask?"
Klaus raised a brow. "I thought you wanted to see Elijah?"
Sabrina closed her eyes exhaling deeply. "I should ask for a contract with terms and conditions next time you make a deal."
"I'll keep to my word, soon."
"Fine." He smiled, getting up from the chair.
"Oh, Rebekah will also-"
"No." he was quick to cut her off.
He was giving her one of his death glares. She groaned. "You owe me more than you think."
"I'll see you when I return, Sabrina."
