Author's Note: Is there anyone still out there with me on this one? Life has been crazy, I've had family in and out of the hospital for various reasons, I had my own hospital stay for a while and I've been diagnosed with several things including arthritis, so some days typing and writing are harder than others. Today was a good day, I've actually been inspired to write this story which I haven't been in a while. That's the good news, the bad news is I am pretty sure there are only a few more chapters left of this tale. I was inspired to write it in the beginning, but it just seems to be stalled out now. Anyway, I will leave you to it and leave me some love when you're done, it makes my day:)

The next four days passed in a blur. Sookie and her family were focused on getting the wedding planned while I focused on state and royal business. I wanted to make sure that things were as situated as possible so that Sookie and I could have at least a few days alone together after the wedding. I also wanted to make everything as stress free as possible for the remainder of Sookie and Hadley's pregnancies.

Security was increased throughout not only the palace, but New Orleans as well. I would have started work to have iron added to the palace and surrounding areas, but I wasn't about to do anything that could hurt Sookie and the babies.

Even as I pressed on with my work, I still felt useless. I'd had all of this knowledge of the future, but it was quickly becoming irrelevant. Time was changing and I had no idea what was going to happen and it was very disconcerting to me. I had relied on my future knowledge for so long now that I needed to get back into the mindset of preparing for anything and everything that could possibly happen. I pushed those thoughts to the back of my mind for now.

Our wedding day had finally arrived, Valentine's Day. We'd tried so hard to avoid this, but apparently this was meant to be our wedding day.

Unlike most grooms, I wasn't nervous, I was anxious and excited for this. I'd waited several lifetimes to marry for love and I was happy that the day had finally come. It also made me happy that Sookie was feeling just as excited as I was if not more so. I wanted to go and check on her, but I'd been banished to the guest suites until the ceremony that was to take place shortly after sunset. Having the Ancient Pythoness preside over it made it impossible to do it any sooner.

I occupied my time with some last minute paperwork that needed my attention and some other work that I could do from my computer.

No matter how much I did, the day just seemed to drag on. When I noticed the sun finally being to dip down in the sky I filled with anticipation as I got in the shower to start getting ready. I'd wanted Sookie to be my wife officially for a very long time. We were still being forced into this in a way, but everything was happening now because we wanted it to happen.

I was quick in my shower since I didn't have Sookie to distract me, I got out and slipped on my tuxedo. I pulled my hair back into a low ponytail, slipped on my dress shoes and socks and made my way downstairs to check things over one last time before the ceremony.

I wandered around and found everything running smoothly. The staff were working like a well oiled machine and I was very pleased. They all knew how important tonight is and were doing everything to make it perfect.

As the sun set completely and it became fully dark outside I felt when the AP arrived. The power than emanated off of her was hard to miss. I met her and her handmaidens at the door. "Good evening My Lady."

"Good evening Norseman. Is everything ready for the ceremony?"

"I believe it is My Lady."

"Oh I'm sure that there will be a few surprises this evening." With that cryptic message, she went off to take her position and I followed behind to take my place.

I was looking out over the crowd that had assembled, but as soon as the music started playing signaling my bride's approach, I was completely transfixed on only her. She had Fintan on one side and Adele on the other, but no one held my attention, but her, my Sookie. She glowed in her white dress that flowed down to the floor and that had capped sleeves pushed off her shoulders and the veil that covered her face, but not from my vision.

I could see the smile on her face as she walked towards me and I knew that I had a matching smile plastered on my own face. I'd been waiting and dreaming of this moment for a very long time and I had never felt happier than I did then.

As she stepped up to me, I took her hand and helped her up onto the platform next to me, then I lifted the veil so I had an unobstructed view of my love.

We held each others gazes throughout the ceremony. I was so focused on my Sookie that I didn't hear most of what the Ancient Pythoness was saying. I managed to speak when I was suppose to and I held my wrist out for the blood exchange, but I wasn't pulled out of my stupor until My Lady announced that I could finally kiss my bride.

I wanted to devour her, especially after exchanging blood, but I managed to keep our kiss as PG as possible. I cut it short when I heard the AP speak. "I wish to introduce to you the new king and queen of Louisiana, Eric and Sookie Northman. This couple has the protection of the Vampire Council as well as my personal protection." I couldn't believe that she'd said that, but she wasn't done yet. "Anyone who tries to hurt or break apart this couple will feel hell rain down on them." Her power filled the room making everyone take notice, before she shuffled off with her handmaidens.

I looked down at Sookie and she was just as surprised as I was. "Eric..."

"It's alright my love. Everything will be fine." I took her arm and led her back down the aisle. The whole room applauded and cheer for us. I could feel that trouble was brewing close by, but I had my love, my wife at my side now and nothing could or would come between us.
