A Teen Titans and Wolverine and the X-Men Crossover Story
Teen X Girl
Chapter 25
The Final Curtain Part 3
~The End is Near~
There's an old saying, 'For every chapter comes a new beginning', and 'For every beginning comes the end.' The first saying may be true but what of the other saying? Could it be that at the beginning of Raven's story the ending was drawing near? One final battle against her nemesis would end the story she unexpectedly wrote. She didn't realize it but her story was about to reach a conclusion. Only she could decide how it ends. She wasn't looking for a happily ever after or a knight in shining armor. Justice was what she sought out now. It wasn't about her but about making sure Malchior never hurt anyone again.
~The Pier at the Loading Docks~
A storm was building up over the sea. Causing a change in the weather. Bringing with it strong wind currents that blew with enough force to knock a car over. Causing a tumbling affect. Trees would be torn from their roots. Children would fly off their feet had their parents not kept them inside. It was unknown where this storm came from but it was a fact that it was ready to strike. The sound of thunder made a tremendous throughout the skies. Lightning flashed touching down to the water. It was a terrible sight to see, becoming worse as the storm drew closer to to shore. It would arrive within minutes. Everyone staying in the storms path (the Titans, the X-Men, the Brotherhood, Raven, and Malchior) braced themselves for the worst to come. Though the weather looked grim no one would abandon their fellow comrade in battle. Nobody was going anywhere until the battle was finished. Even though one of them (Toad) was terrified by the upcoming storm he wasn't leaving. No, he actually couldn't leave because Blob held him in place. Kept that wart faced fellow in place.
Raven and Malchior were in the middle of a stare down. Neither of them dare look away from the other. Eye contact stayed strong; their power(s) were growing within their clenched hands; either of them could make the first move, striking down their opponent. From the side lines everyone watched the pair. They were still as statues. Nobody dared speak a loud less they ruin the concentration between the pair. Whispers were exchanged between one another. When would the fighting begin and who would make the first move? Suspense was growing from the sidelines while rage was building up front. Both Raven and Malchior were ready to attack. Why they held back was the question. There was something going on between them. Something that was held in silence. Until Malchior broke that silence. Startled everyone watching from the sidelines but they quickly recovered.
"Raven my dear, do you honestly think you can defeat me? Me, an all powerful sorcerer who has studied more spells than before you were born? I've grown stronger and learned from my mistakes. You won't send me back in the book which imprisoned me, not again."
"I believe you, but I refuse to stand down from a battle. I've learned some new tricks since we last fought. I won't be easily defeated. I won't allow it." She sounded confident but could follow through? Her emotions wanted to jump behind the steering wheel and take control. Take charge if you will. Show Malchior what each emotion was capable of doing when given the chance. Of course Raven would not allow that to happen because the more she felt the more uncontrollable power she would unleash. She knew it, the Titans knew it. Star had first hand experience using Raven's powers when they switched bodies thanks to Puppet King. If Raven allowed her emotions control there was no telling how messed up this fight would get. Perhaps that's not the best way to put it. Let me just say that when Raven's in control of her emotions her powers are easy to control. Everything is balanced. Everything is under control. If she didn't keep everything balanced then there would be trouble on the battle field. An unstable release of power could destroy everything around her. Okay that might be a little over dramatic but unstable powers could cause unknown destruction.
Perhaps on a lighter note Raven would have no choice but to release her hidden emotions. As her mother told her, the key to unleashing her full potential is to let her emotions be free. Now was the time to take her mother's advice. Like it or not what other choice did she have? To get out of one situation another had to be created. The sort of counter balance attack. If she planned to follow through she must move quickly. Malchior was ready to attack her. Bringing his arms up above his head, he conjured up a great ball of dark magic. Building up its power before he flew his arms down, hands aimed at Raven and unleashed his power on her.
"Raven look out!" Came a cry from a terrified Beast Boy.
Raven needed no more than a few seconds to collect herself but she only had a few seconds before she was hit and knocked out of the sky. Roughly hitting the ground creating a gap in the Earth. Closing her eyes, Raven gathered up her inner power that built up in the palm of her hands. As the energy grew she released a great powerful blast back. Powers collided. Both opponents were equally matched. Using their strength and force to push their power onto the other. The tension of the crowd grew. It was undetermined who would be struck down. Raven was giving it everything she had in pushing Malchior back but his power's had grown. He was pushing back with ease. At the rate he was going he would have Raven at his mercy. Seeing as she had no other choice, Raven new what she had to do. She had to release her emotions.
She would probably regret this; unfortunately, if she was going to make any progress in this battle she had to go through with her plan. She could hate herself after this battle's finished. Closing her eyes Raven allowed a warm energy to flow throughout her body. Giving her that extra boost necessary to push Malchior back. When she opened her eyes they were glowing pitch white. A new power had awaken within. With it she pushed a full frontal force against Malchior's power. Causing him to come in contact with Raven's power. Sending him flying backward into a large stack of crates. A loud crashing and breaking sound came out of his crash. He was motionless., giving Raven the upper hand.
She flew over to Malchior's crash site. Floating just overhead in front of him by a good ten feet from his spot. She could have finished him off. She could have disposed of him. That wasn't who she was. Her anger, that was a whole other thing. Her anger wished to finish Malchior so he never breathed a breathe of fresh air again. She was her father's daughter, but she was a Titan at heart. She would never stoop to that level. What she could do was create a portal to another dimension. If she concentrated and focused she could pull it off. She may not be the Harold but she was just as strong as him. It was time to send Malchior packing. Beast Boy was starting to rub off of her. Never thought that would happen. More on the matter at hand. Raven seemed to have control over her emotions at the moment, but she might have spoken too soon. As Raven was working on building enough of her energy to conjure a portal that's when reality hit.
Her emotions wanted control. They were tired of being kept under lock in Raven's mind. It was time for them to step forward. Claim control over Raven's mind and body. Each emotion was trying to take control at the same time. (This happened in an X-Men Evolution Episode. Rogue lost control over her powers and all those powers from everyone she absorbed wanted control. That's exactly what Raven is experiencing.) The overcoming feeling of emotions cluttering for a spot in the drivers seat was overbearing. The pain was similar to a headache one get's if they feel the following symptoms of dizziness and sometimes nausea. Only think of the pain being twice as painful. It feels like your head is spinning out of control while being kicked around like a soccer ball. Raven cringed in pain, holding her head, gripping her hair, biting her bottom lip. This wasn't a pain she was use to experiencing. True, she's had her fair share of pain and bruises but not like this. Her head began to heat up. A burning sensation she couldn't handle because it felt as though her head were in an oven set to the maximum temperature. Add a couple of tight grips going on in her head that were pulling at her brain. If this pulling continued her brain would be torn in many separate halves. Call it crazy but that's how it felt. That unbearable feeling that can't be controlled. Though you may try it can't be helped. The pulling for constant control is a 'must need' factor.
Those from the sidelines could see the struggle Raven was putting up weren't sure what Raven was doing. They thought she was loosing it. That the pressure had finally gotten the better of her. That she couldn't go through with her plans. She was having second thoughts. But maybe there was more than that. Perhaps Raven was suffering a battle from within her mind. Everyone had a different thought. Until Emma discovered the truth thanks to the use of her powers. She told everyone that Raven was in a mental battle from within against her emotions. Explaining how each emotion wanted control over Raven's mind. Similar to one who may suffer from multiple personality syndrome. The Titans grew concerned for their friend's sake. They wanted to get involved. Jump in to the battle. Get involved with the action before Malchior could get back up again. Right before they could join the battle, Logan held his arm out stopping them.
"No, this is something Raven has to do for herself. Its her battle, her villain, her choice." Logan said to them. "You may not like it but you have to trust me on this. If you trust Raven then you'll trust her to do this for herself."
"Oh but Malchior could awaken and attack Raven when she is not in control of herself." A concerned Starfire mentioned. She couldn't bare the thought of one of her friends getting hurt. None of the titans could stand the thought. Their friendship was a strong bond that could not easily be broken.
At least until someone broke it by simply cutting off one string from the rope that binds the Titans together. Which is exactly what Malchior, who had awaken from his unconscious state, was about to do. Carefully he stood up from the surrounded broken wood pieces of what were once crates. A roar of thunder broke out just then as rain suddenly began to fall from the sky. Looking up as fresh rain hit his face, Malchior spotted Raven floating not far from where he stood. She seemed to be dealing with a rather unpredictable predicament, or so it seemed. She was gripping more of her hair and letting out cries of pain due to her current mental situation. A situation that Malchior would take advantage of. Closing his eyes he focused on admitting his powers at Raven. She wouldn't have time to defend herself. She didn't have time. She was hit by an overwhelming powerful force of magic that sent an unbearable shock wave throughout her body. The shock struck her like a cannonball, right in the stomach at full force. The punch nearly knocked her unconscious but apart from the shock the only other damage was nearly loosing her ability to breathe. If only for a couple seconds before she was able to regain the ability to breathe. At that time the pain was subsiding but not completely gone.
When she opened her eyes she found herself on her back with broken crates surrounding her. Seems karma has a funny way of getting you back in a Deja Vu sort of way. Call it crazy or ridiculous but as mentioned earlier, she did strike Malchior down into a crate huddle. He's returning the favor but when her guard was down. Fear not Raven will make a comeback once she's managed to control these new feelings of emotions; unfortunately, its not going to happen anytime soon because she's unconscious and buried under broken wooden crates. One could see her right hand sticking out from the mess, nothing else. Now would probably be a good time for the Titans to jump in and help their friend, right? Wrong!
Logan wasn't going to let that happen. He wasn't going to let anyone jump in, not yet. The Titans argued with him. They disagreed with his idea to leave Raven to fight her own battle. Especially when she was loosing control of her emotions. Logan argued against them. He said Raven could do this but she couldn't have any interruptions. She had to concentrate. Focus on regaining control of her inner emotions and powers. The way Logan was talking it did sound rather ridiculous aloud but he knew what he was talking about, as did Robin and Cyborg. When it came to personal battles the three young men were more than familiar with such battles. Perhaps this was something Raven had to do on her own. They knew what she was capable of but did she know that? Raven was struggling with her powers or she was before she was knocked unconscious. As of the moment she was helpless and open for another attack. Malchior flew up to Raven. Hoovering above her, readying his dark magic in the palm of his hands he would strike Raven till her last dying breathe. He would do it slowly. He wanted to savor the moment when Raven's heart went flat line. A slow death by his hand. That would give him the satisfying victory he so deeply desired.
Revenge against the one(s) who forsaken you. Who took away that power so desperately craved. The need to make others suffer under your command. A craving that can't be helped because that craving soon grows to become an addiction and that addiction takes over your mind. All Malchior ever wanted was to become a being who admitted great power and took control over anyone who opposed him. He almost succeeded in gaining what was taken from him had that not been taken from him by a certain sorceress. He had not expected Raven to over power him, nor did he expect to be trapped back in the book. This time everything would work in his favor. He would not underestimate Raven again. He had the upper hand as he floated before her. She was still unconscious due to mental issues she was suffering. He did not know that her emotions were battling for control but if he had basic information about that he would use it against her. But I'm getting off topic. Raven's fate lies in her hands alone. She had to awaken and move as quickly as possible before the fatal blow.
What was going on within her head was anyone's guess. They could only watch as their friend was about to lose her life. From within her mind she found herself surrounded by her other emotional selves. Each emotion had a different color cloak on and each one was looking right at her with a look of unpleasantness and disappointment. Not because they were closed up in her mind but because they were fighting for control. Each believed they belonged at the drivers seat. The emotions had been fighting before Raven appeared. Now all their attention and disappointment were aimed at her. The first to speak up was Happy.
"Raven! So glad your here!" Happy cried out in enthusiasm. Jumping down from her spot giving Raven a tight bear hug."Now that you're here in your mind, you can help us!"
"Help you? I'm sorry did I hear you correctly? Your asking meto help you? Ugh!" Raven's ability to speak was being cut off due to Happy's hug. "What could you possibly need my help for?" To answer that question Knowledge stepped out to speak.
"You see Raven we're having trouble deciding which of us should take over." Knowledge began. "We feel that we've stayed in the passengers seat(s) long enough and would like to try our hand at controlling your mind."
"Yes we know you won't approve of this but we weren't looking for your permission. Not that we would need it from you anyway." Rage pointed out clearly annoyed. "Your nothing but a mind hog! A spoiled brat! Why can't we have control and have some fun?!" Well Rage was on edge. She wanted control no matter what she had to do to get it. She was willing to kill if it came down to it.
Lucky for Raven, her emotion, Brave held Rage back from doing anything insane. Not that she would regret it later. It was best no blood was shed, not now or ever. "I've got your back Rave." Brave said giving a thumbs up while still keeping a strong hold on Rage. Who was struggling for release but not getting anywhere.
Rage began to rant and her struggling was becoming a struggle for Brave to handle. Timid stayed back to avoid any fighting. Happy was laughing because she found this situation to be hilarious. Knowledge tried to talk some sense into Rage but she wasn't hearing it. Bringing the pair into an argument. All the other emotions began to bicker with one another as if they had nothing better to do.
Feeling the tension in the air Raven knew she had to do something and quick. Her emotions were acting up. It wouldn't be long before they all began a riot. Judging by their attitudes it wouldn't be long before they were all at each others throats. Reasoning with them wouldn't be enough to settle their feuding nor would they listen if Raven tried to speak. Using her powers wouldn't help since they were her emotions. Meaning they all shared the same powers she did. No, if she was going to get them under control she had to think of something else. Her fate as did her friends fates rests in the palm of her hands. With no other choice Raven took a deep breathe and released a scream. Think of her scream similar to when she quieted Cyborg, Starfire, and Beast Boy when they were on the run from Mad Mod. The second encounter with him. When the city was turned to England and they were on the run and they had to save Robin who lost his youth. That's the one.
In this case its a different scenario. Raven's scream got all her emotions attention. Now she could speak. Hoping they would listen to her as she did. Surprisingly it worked, she even got Rage's attention. No one spoke a word. Just stared in Raven's direction waiting for her to speak. She would need a moment before regaining herself to speak. These next words she spoke would have to count if she was going to get tout of this mess. Cooperation and understanding each other were the key components. Deep breathes. Remember why you're doing this.
"Okay look, this isn't easy for me to say this. I'm sure you've all sensed that for the past few days I haven't been myself. You've all felt the urge to step forth and unleash your full potential." She was beginning to explain. All the other emotions didn't say a thing. A few wanted to speak but didn't dare.
Raven continued. "Look I know you've all been kept in the dark because of my powers but I need your help now. I actually need you."
"Oh and why should we bother helping?" It was Rage who spoke up."You've kept us in the dark for far too long. We deserve to come out and take control. We deserve to fight. We deserve to take action. Why must you always be..."
She's stopped of her rambling when Knowledge puts a hand out. "That's enough Rage, your becoming a nausea with your complaining. I understand where your coming from but maybe we need to reconsider. Perhaps we need to think how Raven feels about this."
"*scoff* Think about how Raven feels about this? Raven has never felt anything until recently. Now we're just expected to go along with her sudden mood swing?" Rage just rambled utter nonsense as she vented out her own rage. All she wanted was to take over and shed some blood. If not for the other emotions holding her down she might already have gotten away with it.
"*deep sigh* Look I know this is going to sound insane. Thinking about it is going to make me want to pound myself later but I'm going to say it. I need...*sigh* I need all of you too...ugh...make me feel the joy of having emotions." Having said that Raven slapped herself on the forehead. "I already regret saying that."
Happy broke out in a fit of giggles after watching Raven. Course she's always a cheerful lass. Nothing seems to get her down. Even in the darkest times she can still keep a smile. Perhaps Raven could learn something from her emotions if she just let them in. Give into her emotions and she would have the strength to defeat Malchior. Do or die, there is no try. (Quote from Master Yoda from Star Wars I believe, yes? I apologize but that quote just seemed the perfect fit to add in this final chapter. Plus, I love the Star Wars movies.) Moving on, Raven hadn't planned on becoming trapped in her mind after being knocked out from an attack; nor had she planned on being confronted by her emotions. She was wasting time here. She had to get her emotions to cooperate or she'd most likely wind up dead. Course confessing she needed her emotions help didn't make things better on her end.
It was humiliating to say such a thing but it was the truth. She had to experience the joy of feeling her emotions. She had to follow her mother's advice. Opening herself up to unleash her true potential. There was no other choice. Either she get her emotions under control or perish. Speaking up she once again had everyone's attention.
"Listen, we don't have much time before Malchior decides to finish me off and then my friends. Either all of you do what I say or allow him to destroy us. Now you all have a right to want control. You all have a right to be upset with me. I've kept everyone in the dark for years and just recently I started feeling things I feel every so often." Raven took a deep breathe in and out before continuing. "We haven't got much time. Either your with me or against me, make your choice."
It wasn't that difficult a choice though Rage still had a few objections. None-the-less, an agreement was made to come together and give Raven that extra jolt of power. Together her emotions joined in a circle that began to spin in the air with Raven in the middle. Their combined powers and emotional traits would be that extra juice kick Raven needed to finish this battle against Malchior once and for all. As they say only together can one achieve greatness.
~Meanwhile Back Outside of Raven's Head~
Malchior was closing in on Raven's unconscious body. The closer he got the more his power grew within the palms of his hands. He was ready for the final kill. Knowing what Malchior was about to do Robin couldn't stand by any longer. He called out 'Titans Go!' and engage attack. Cyborg, Starfire and Beast Boy followed Robin into battle. Weapons and starbolts engaged. Their target was locked on the enemy in front of them. Robin was the first to fall. Using his staff he jumped into the air in a kick pose aiming down at Malchior. Only to be pushed back like the current of a wave that draws you in until it crushes you down into the water. You don't even realize what happened till the urge for air reaches your lungs and your brain. In a way that was the experience Robin endured; although, he actual got pushed over Malchior landing himself into the ocean about twenty feet from where Malchior stood. Cyborg and Starfire took a turn. They threw everything they had at Malchior. Who simply rebound everything thrown at him back at the Titans. The pair dodged a couple hits thrown but soon found themselves out of commission. When Malchior managed to reflect the pairs signature power moves he used a mirror effect bouncing the powers right back at the teens.
With three titans out of commission it came down to Beast Boy. He had the hard look of determination in his eyes. He'd stop at nothing to keep Raven safe. Even if it meant giving up his own life to protect her. Logan knew how Beast Boy felt. He could smell the adrenaline off of him. While he was watching from the sidelines he would jump in with the others should things take a nasty turn. That might be sooner then expected. As Beast Boy transformed into a cheetah, Malchior summoned his magic which he sent blasting in Beast Boy's direction. Using his cat-like instincts, he dodged each blast. Still running forward with adrenaline pumping through his veins. He was waiting for the right moment to leap into the air to strike down Malchior. Assuming he wasn't knocked out. Just as he was closing in on Malchior and took that great leap into the air...
"ENOUGH!" Malchior used his powers to trap Beast Boy in this floating orb that would prevent him from escaping. Think Raven's magic when she's trapped foes in these dark bubble like orbs. "I will not tolerate this foolishness anymore!" Malchior spoke a loud. "I'm going to put an end to this once and for all!"
Summoning every trace of power from within, Malchior created a large shield around the X-Men. Trapping them in a similar bubble as Beast Boy. He soon traps the other Titans in bubbles that join Beast Boy's combining into one large bubble. Now with all the heroes trapped there was no stopping Malchior from finishing Raven. He turned back to her unconscious form laying before him. One strike. That's all it would take. He wouldn't need to use his magic to finish her off. He would get a more thrilling sensation if he used his own sword. Pulling it out from the strap upon his back he took a good look at it. Running his fingers lightly along the blade. It felt good to touch the cold steel to ones bare fingertips. Soon the cold would be replaced with a warm blanket of blood. A strike through the heart was all it would take.
Not wanting to witness a brutal death, Beast Boy struggled to escape the bond of the prison they were in. He transformed into various animals. Hoping one was stronger then the other to create a crack in the shield. Unfortunately; no matter how he tried, no matter what animal he turned to he couldn't break out. This only aggravated Beast Boy who turned back to his human form and started banging on the shield.
"Let us out! Let us out!" He started shouting, calling out to Malchior. Trying to get his attention which was directed on Raven. Beast Boy continued to cry out. He tried to get his friends and the X-Men to join in but it wasn't going to work. Malchior was interested in Raven and her alone. He walked up to Raven at an easy. Walking up with his sword in hand. The look of determination and death in his eyes when looking at her. "NNnnnnooooo!Raven! Raven!"
Beast Boy could see what Malchior was going to do. He had to stop him but he could do nothing. The only thing he could do was watch as Malchior went up to strike his sword down on Raven. To witness the one you love die before your very eyes. Hell if you witnessed a murder of any kind could tear them apart on the inside. You can't take away that feeling when it happens. You could talk to someone about it but not in a situation like this you can't. Beast Boy would never be able to get anyone to understand what he was about to witness. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't break free. Logan tried to slice and dice the shield but to no avail. Malchior had gotten stronger than he let off.
He walked up to Raven, sword in hand. It would be a merciless kill. Similar to video games if you think about it. The villain walks up to the unconscious victim, their prey, brings the sword into the air with the point sticking down, and just as he's about to deliver the final blow...
He was blown back by a sudden force that made him fly in the air for a short period of time. Rolling down the pier until he slowed down flat on his stomach. The sword from his hand was blown in another direction. Most likely landing in the water. As Malchior opened his eyes, slowly got up on his knees he saw a certain someone wide awake and ready to fight. Yes, Raven had emerged from her unconscious state floating above where she just laid with a powerful energy glowing around her. She ascended ten feet into the air. She looked similar to a being of pure energy that had awoken deep within Raven's mind, body and soul. When she opened her eyes they were glowing like two pure white shining pearls. Eye witnesses to Raven's sudden awakening came as a surprise. One minute Raven was laying unconscious before Malchior's sword; the next she unleashes a powerful force that sends him flying backwards and she emerges as this floating entity ready to fight back.
"Hello Malchior care to have one last dance before your defeat?"
There was something else about Raven that was different. Something Beast Boy had seen twice in the time he's known Raven. He usual clothing attire had changed. He mentioned it to the others how Raven no longer wore her average blue clothing but pure clothes of white. Beast Boy knew that when Raven had the white working for her it could mean one thing. The ultimate power built up inside. Coming out as pure energy ready to be released out in the open field/area. All that was needed now was a target. Who happened to be standing in front starring up at her. A small smirk played on Raven's face, looking down at Malchior. Who still had a look of shock upon his face; however, that came to pass once he summoned his magic into the palms of his hands. He was going to give Raven a fight to the death.
In one jump Malchior was flying in the air with Raven right behind him. Now one would say I'm microcode when it comes to describing a fight scene. What I am about to say is my best attempt at what occurred between the two in the sky. Imagine if you will a roaring rain shower and a thunderous applaud of thunder and lightning in the background. Malchior and Raven are about twenty feet apart from each other. Starring down with strikingly pierced eyes. The pair were about to engage in an unforgettable battle.
(Forgive me if I am no good at writing a battle scene but I will do what I can. You guys have waited long enough and deserve an epic battle scene.)
The wind began to pick up sending the rain swirling all over the sky. Dancing as leaves do when the wind blows them around during a chilling Autumn afternoon. Had there been no thunder or lightning roaring down the area. Similar to a bowling alley where the ball strikes all ten pins. Strike all ten and lightning strikes down on the planet. In this case the lightning was striking close to where Malchior and Raven were floating. The others below watched from within the shield as the rain dripped down the shield keeping all inside dry. Since they could not break from their imprisonment, all anyone could do was gaze up at the battle that was about to begin.
"Get him Raven." Beast Boy said as the two beings of pure magic flew straight for each other. Magic at the ready, aim, and...
FIRE!
Malchior made the first move unleashing daggers made from his magic at Raven. Who shield his attack with a large wide shield that broke the daggers into nothing but black air particles scattering away in the wind. Seeing this Malchior knew he had to think bigger to combat a shield. He conjured a spear with a sharp point that would pierce through the shield, stabbing Raven through the heart. That is what he was hoping would happen had Raven not planned for a counter attack. She conjured a giant hand that reached out grabbing hold and pushing the force of the spear back. Sort of a push pull movement. Point being these two were pushing their magic at one another for a few minutes before they stopped. The objects disappeared like cool mist from the winter that evaporates thanks to the warm weather. This left an opening for an attack.
Either one could strike at the other. It is a life or death battle. Though for one death was the appropriate way to go for the other before him. As for Raven, she would settle for beating her opponent to a pulp. Then perhaps sending him off to another dimension from which he could never escape. I apologize for the rambling.
Having both attack strikes evaporate before their eyes, Malchior and Raven began to prepare a new attack aimed at the other. Prepared to strike the two engaged in a battle that didn't seem like it was going to end. From below everyone was watching the pair go off at one another in what appeared to be slow motion. Not saying this battle was going at a slow pace. It is just how some people saw it. The pair above managed to strike one another a few times. Nearly knocking themselves out of the sky but quickly regaining control, charging back into battle. Things weren't getting any better when Malchior pulled a dirty move on Raven. As she came at him with a new counter attack he came flying up to her with a hidden dagger from his pocket that he had secretly hidden from plain sight. One never knows when they must use a weapon of any calibers as a last resort.
He moved quickly. Dodging several attacks Raven threw at him in attempts to keep him back. Malchior as observing Raven's moves careful less he make a mistake causing him to be knocked from the sky. He moved with hast, making a quick zip toward Raven. Having come close to her face. Inches from her lips that would have begged for a kiss long ago. Surprised by how close Malchior was to her, Raven was stunned. Her body was frozen. She wanted to move, she knew she should but she couldn't bring her body to listen to her brain. Malchior seizes this moment, wrapping his arms around her body the way a lover would. He reached and pulled out the dagger from hiding. The others below could see what was about to happen or at least make out what was happening. The pair were a great distance from the ground. The sight of what they could make out looked troublesome which meant Raven could be in trouble and knowing Malchior he brought trouble; unfortunately, there was nothing they could do nothing to stop what was to come. As a flash of lightning touched down on the Earth and thunder rolled in creating a loud booming sound that ran through the air like church bells on a Sunday morning.
Malchior swung the dagger for Raven's back to strike finishing her off; however, Raven had anticipated this move from Malchior. Feeling he would resort to pulling an unexpected act. Magic was one thing but a dagger was uncalled for. Quickly Raven grabbed his wrist with the dagger in hand. Using her powers to push herself and Malchior back a couple feet apart. It may sound simple or perhaps non-believable but did you really think I would allow Raven to die this easily? No, she's clever, she knows Malchior. Perhaps a dagger wasn't something she was familiar with but when it comes to villains they are always pulling unexpected tricks up their sleeve(s). If Raven was going to defeat Malchior she had to unleash everything her emotions/other Raven's had given her.
Summoning everything she had within, Raven let out a glowing orb of light between the palms of her hands. Her eyes that she closed to summon this energy opened revealing two glowing white orbs. Malchior was once again taken aback by this sudden power Raven was using against him. He tried to defend himself creating barriers around him for protection but Raven broke through every one he made. One after the other he was soon defenseless against what was coming next. Raven unleashed the glowing orb at Malchior. Once it hit his body he was glowing with the very energy that was in Raven's palms. At first the feeling was cool like a breeze in Spring, but that soon changed into an electrical charge. Compliments of the rain that wasn't stopping. Malchior found himself screaming and cringing in pain as the electricity ran its course illuminating light from his eyes and mouth before it stopped. He stayed floating in the air for mere seconds before falling from the sky. Taken down by the very magic Raven had learned and gained thanks to a little advice from her mother; and a heart-to-heart chat with herself. Just as the rain was slowing down and Malchior fell from the sky he began to turn into dust that floated away with the wind. This was never Raven's intention; supposedly, that magic was far greater than Malchior's body could handle. Now he was no longer immortal nor alive. It is uncertain if he is truly gone but what's done is done. It would be impossible for him to come back.
Having completed her mission Raven floated down landing on the docks. Standing in front of her friends who were still trapped in that barrier. Took a snap of her fingers to break it. Now free everyone rejoiced. Her Titan friends ran up giving Raven a well deserved congratulations cheer. Cyborg hoisted her onto his shoulder while Robin, Starfire, and Beast Boy cheered. The X-Men came up to the group giving Raven a round of applause for her battle. Even Logan gave a smile of approval. As for the Brotherhood, they took off while everyone was distracted. It didn't matter, they were no longer a concern. What mattered was Raven's victory. True, many had doubts that she wouldn't pull through on her own with her newly developed powers; she proved them wrong. Here she was being praised and congratulated for all her hard work. It was a little much to take in. Especially with her new feelings. Still she put on a small smile and blushed. Thanking everyone before asking them to please stop before things got out of hand. The last thing she wanted was this to escalate into a party.
~X-Men Mansion~
Everyone returned to the mansion after that. The Titans were thanking the X-Men for their help and for looking after Raven during their search for her. They didn't have to watch her but they did. Shows what good people the X-Men are. While everyone was talking Raven sneaked back from the crowd to get away. She disappeared then reappeared on the roof top of the mansion. Looking above she thought back to everything that had happened. Leading up to the events that happened not long ago. Its funny how a simple act could bring her here. Its hard to believe everything that happened actually happened.
"Hey I thought I might find you up here." Came a voice next to her. Turning her head to the left Raven saw Beast Boy standing five feet from her. "Hope I'm not interrupting anything. Just wanted a chance to talk to you."
"Sure take a seat." She replied looking back at the sky.
Beast Boy sat down from where he stood. He would have liked to move closer but wanted to give Raven her space. After what happened back at the tower he wasn't ready to get too close. The pair sat in silence. Looking up at the sky watching the clouds float by. The storm had brought the sun out along with many beautiful colors. The evening was upon them as the day drew to a close. It would be a long trip back home but there was still time to take in the sky and the scenery before they left. There was no telling when they would be leaving. Could be now, could be later. Beast Boy knew he had to talk to Raven. He had to make things right between the two of them or suffer an awkward silence for the rest of their days.
"Uh...*clears his throat* So...Raven back at the tower. I said somethings I shouldn't have to you. I don't know why I said those things. I wasn't thinking and...I'm sorry." Beast Boy told her. "I know an apology probably isn't enough but I want to make it up to you."
Raven was silent. She stared at the sky a while longer until she turned to look at Beast Boy.
"Actual Beast Boy, I'm not mad at you. Maybe I was at the beginning but you actually helped me in more way that I could have hopped." She told him.
"Huh? How did I help you? It was my hurtful comments that sent you away. Its because of my stupidity that earned me dish washing duty for a month. I can still hear the long conversation Robin gave me after you disappeared and I had to come clean with everything."
"True, the things you said to me were hurtful and maybe running away wasn't one of my brightest decisions. Don't know what I was thinking when I did that. I only knew I had to get away and clear my head somewhere else; however, its because of you that I met the X-Men and discovered this hidden power within me. A power I never thought to unleash until I ran off."
"You mean that unexpected power you unleashed on Malchior? It was actually pretty cool the way you unleashed that power onto him. Never seen anything like it before. The way you pushed him back and nearly knocked him out of the sky those couple times. Oh! How about when you electrified him then he turned into dust and vanished. Woosh~!"
"*small laugh* It was kind of cool wasn't it? You know now that I'm getting more in touch with my personal feelings there's something I would like to try. Its probably going to sound crazy. I've never done it or thought about doing it with anyone."
"Where are you going with you Rae?"
"Just shut up and kiss me you idiot."
Grabbing a hold of his shirt Raven pulled Beast Boy in for a hot steamy kiss. Quite unexpected and not something Raven would normally do, or do at all. But after only a couple seconds Beast Boy was getting into it and kissing her back. Call them crazy but these two were more than glad to be doing this. You could say that deep down this as something they always wanted to do but apart of them stayed back from any contact like this. When they pulled back Beast Boy stared deep into Raven's dark violet eyes.
"Wow Raven that was something I never thought you'd do with me. I always thought you hated me. Especially after what happened back at the tower all those days ago."
"Beast Boy I never hated you. True you can be annoying and an idiot but you're my friend and I care about you. The past is behind us now. What say we take this one day at a time and see where things go? As long as we promise each other too talk about anything that upsets us instead of doing something we'll both regret."
"I can agree on that sister. So...how's about another kiss? *eyebrow raising up and down*"
"Don't push it."
"Sorry...*sweat drop* But we can do it again sometime, right?"
"...*small smile* Yeah, we could do that."
The pair smiled at each other then looked back at the sky. As this chapter of their story came to an end a whole new one would be written down. Telling of how despised the hardships of the past the future had never looked more perfect.
The End
