We didn't tell people about our relationship. Well, he only ever told Hanamichi - who of course told his girlfriend, Haruko - but he surprisingly didn't tell another soul. He must have learned his lesson from last time. On the other hand, I only ever told Chisa, who understands enough my desire to keep things mum.
This whole dating thing I feel has unleashed a whole new side of me. Suddenly, I want to look prettier for him and I want to be around him all the time. Having Chisa to confide in has been a great help, she took me out to buy skirts and dresses, barrettes, and lip gloss.
Then one day in class, I was chatting with Mao, Kyo, and Chisa, with Kaede standing quietly beside me, when Kyo chirped out of nowhere, "Somehow, Sakura-chan seems different these days. There's a change about you that I can't pinpoint."
Mao rolled her eyes, "She's wearing lip gloss, you idiot."
"Oh? Has she not before? Why the change?" Kyo wondered and Mao gasped loudly, her eyes wide as saucers upon realization, "COULD IT BE - YOU AND RUKAWA-KUN HAVE FINALLY STARTED DATING?!"
Heads whipped to our direction and I could feel my face burn hot under the gaze of my classmates so I instinctively hid behind my hands.
"Eh, is this true, Rukawa?!" Kyo's voice was louder than usual.
Intrigued, I took a peek at Kaede's response. He has never been friendly with the class but in that moment, he had a small, barely-noticeable smile on his face and a pink tinge on his cheeks. He eyed the class and slowly raised a finger to his lips, a gesture requesting their silence.
Immediately there was a suppressed squeal in the room, and the faces of our classmates were almost as red as mine.
