Chapter 29

Thankfully the talk with the kids went extremely well and I was back before the hour, which Melinda was relieved about.

"Kingsley, er, Minister." I stood as he entered the office.

I suddenly realized I had no idea why we were meeting.

"Sit Potter, no formalities necessary." he laughed, "just a social call."

"Social? What's up?" I relaxed a bit.

"Honestly, nothing. How's the orphanage doing?"

"Really great, thank you for asking."

"I heard Draco Malfoy is living there?"

Ah, now I understood, "Yes, he is."

"Are you sure that's wise, Harry?"

"I'm not gonna try to sugarcoat it, Minister. Draco and I are dating."

Kingsley coughed into his tea, "You're what?" He sputtered.

"We're dating. I'm only telling you because, well, because he's meeting me for lunch today and there's always a prophet reporter around here somehwhere."

Kingsley looked at me dumbfounded.

"I didn't even know you were gay." was all he could say to me.

"Ehh, I'm bisexual, but . . . we don't really need to get into that."

"No, we do not." Kingsley smiled, "well, give them a show, will you?" he straightened his robes, standing to leave.

"Yes sir." I stood opening the door for him.

I sat in my office pretending to work, Justin really did most of the work, I usually felt bad that he didn't get as much credit, but he's my right hand man, I wouldn't be able to do anything out of the office without Justin.

"Sir? Mr. Malfoy is here to see you." Melinda popped her head in.

I was pulled from my thoughts at her words, a smile creeping across my face.

"Great. I'll see him now."

Draco walked in, his swagger on point. I closed the distance between us and pulled him in for a kiss. I had food dropped off and I told him about my meeting with Kingsley.

"-anyway, once he asked about you, I had to tell him."

"Of course, he'd be more cross if he found out through the paper tomorrow."

"Exactly. My thoughts, as well. That was also what I was thinking this morning when I went to Hogwarts and told the kids that you and I are seeing each other." I looked at him through my lashes.

He stopped chewing and looked at me. After what seemed like ages, he swallowed his food,"what did they say?"

"They said they love you and if I'm happy, they're happy. Also, Jeremiah is gay and we might be meeting his boyfriend over Easter."

"Pssh, I could have told you that."

"How'd you know he's gay, then?"

"Uhh, I may have answered my bedroom door on Christmas morning thinking it was you. I was only wearing a towel around my waist, but you should have seen the way his eyes lingered on me." I could not believe what he was saying.

"Don't Worry!" He said quickly, "I immediately closed the door and put some clothes on!"

"Ohmygod, Malfoy." I laughed, "I can't leave you alone for five minutes."

Draco checked his watch, "well, I have an appointment in a few, I'd better get going."

He stood, but I blocked his way to my fireplace, "let me walk you down to the floos in the atrium." I reached for his hand to lead him from my office.

"You sure you want to do this, Potter?" he asked.

"I don't want to be worried about whether I'm seen with my boyfriend, I don't want to be worried about 'being caught'. I want to be able to walk around, anywhere, with you on my arm and not feel weird about it."

Draco snaked an arm around my waist and kissed me, a long, knee knocking kiss.

I pulled back the slightest bit, "I love you." I whispered, looking into his mercury eyes.

He smiled, "I love you too, you idiot." and kissed me again, "Let's do this."
