"Why do you care for him so much?" Yahiko grumped, seeing Kaoru smile at the blond brat's back as he was leaving. She was different with him. Less irritated. It bothered the older boy.
"Are you scared that I ditch you?" She teased him lightly, scruffing his hair with a smile. "Don't worry, you are my first student. Yutaro is lost, though not the same way as you were. I want him to see that Raijuuta's way isn't the only one he could follow. And he has real talent."

Now she laughed at him, then tapped his nose. "Of course I do. He's kind and polite, unlike someone I know. Also-"She turned to go inside but stopped, looking back at him softly. "I don't plan on making him my successor. So you get the hard labor."
