That's all what he heard as he found himself walking throughout a battlefield, the uniforms of the soldiers that passed by him looked extremely familiar, yulil kept spinning around as he did his best to assess the situation, with no avail.
He then noticed a familiar face, his eyes widened when he noticed who the soldier was... It was himself.
As they made eye contact the world seemed to have... Stopped The tanks stopped moving, the soldiers froze in place, the aircrafts above seemed to be hovering, it looked like time was frozen.
The much younger yulil looked straight into our commander's eyes as he dropped his weapon and helmet then walked straight towards him.
As he reached yulil he punched him in the face as yulil flinched before slowly turning his face back to face his doppelganger.
"You shell of a person, is this really who I'll become?" The illusion said angrily, it almost seemed like an acid trip for yulil.
"You fucking disgust me" he added as he twisted his face in disgust before spitting on the ground.
"Those are bold words coming from myself" yulil said with a smirk.
"You're being pretty smug for someone who let his lover die" the illusion said as he crossed his arms and cocked his face a bit, yulil immediately lost his smirk as anger slowly built up inside of him, consuming him bit by bit "That's what I thought, you useless garbage, you didn't even deserve her"
Yulil grabbed his younger self by his collar as fury engulfed his rationality "One... more... word" yulil said through his gritted teeth "Or what? You're gonna punch me? Boohoo I'm shivering~" he said with raised hands and a mocking tone.
"You never deserved anything, that's why your parents left you, they knew what kind of demon you were" he added as he lost his sarcastic face, changing it to an expressionless face with widended eyes that seemed as bottomless as an abyss "Everything you touch dies, everyone that love you gets killed, can't you just do a favour for this world and kill yourself?" The illusion said as he slowly raised an eyebrow "Julie, Sergei, alik, aleks, Yuri, Cory, Elijah, Daryl, Jane... How many more people do you want to die?" he added as he started counting with his fingers "You're a fucking burden for this world, nobody would miss you if you died, they'd actually be relieved that a piece of shit like you would be gone"
"It wasn't my fault for god's sake!" Yulil said as he pushed the illusion away from him and held his head.
"Not your fault?! Who the fuck was leading the damn squad then?!" The illusion yelled back.
"You! It was you!" He added as he pointed at yulil.
"What could I have done?!"
"Anything! Anyone could've done a better job than you! You let your family die for fuck's sake!"
"I didn't..." He softly murmured.
"Hiding from the truth... Just like you always do huh?... Just know this... yo-"
And it was over, the nightmare was done as yulil slowly raised his head, he rested it on the palm of his hand as he stared at the wall "It just never gets better does it?" He softly asked himself knowing very well the answer.
He then all of a sudden could smell a weirdly enough, familiar scent. he looked at himself as he noticed a Griffin red overcoat covering his shoulders, he raised an eyebrow and a shoulder before he sniffed it.
Yulil closed his eyes and smiled, the perfume reminded him of his life back at the orphanage where times were far more simpler, the sweet memories he made alongside Julie suddenly overloaded him as he kept smiling.
He quickly forgot the nightmare and checked his watch, 1 PM He sighed and got up while hanging the overcoat on the back of the chair.
He stretched his arms and yawned as he headed outside the commanding room.
As he turned a corner he stumbled upon Gentiane and dsr speaking with each other, he immediately did a 180 and slowly walked away.
"Oh! Look who's awake!" Gentiane said as she noticed him.
"Fuck..." Yulil muttered as he slowly turned around and waved at the duo before walking towards them.
Dsr had a wicked smile in her face as she kept staring at yulil.
"Dsr, this is yulil, he's the commander that supported our counter attack" Gentiane Said as she leaned against the wall of the hallway.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, commander yulil" dsr said.
"The pleasure's mine" yulil replied, as he spoke he noticed that dsr raised an eyebrow when she heard his voice, he presumed that she recognised his voice from back then.
"Yulil huh... I wonder if you're proficient with dealing with oversized dinergates" dsr told him before finishing her speech with a wink.
"That's awfully specific" gentiane said with a confused tone.
"I uh... Yeah... it's me..." yulil replied "Fufu, I knew it... Your voice is unforgettable" she added with a soft laugh.
"Have I perhaps missed an episode?" Gentiane asked with crossed arms Yulil and dsr looked at each before they both chuckled.
"You don't even know" he replied "It must be fate that reunited us yet again, commander yulil... Maybe now we'll actually spend the ni-" dsr was saying before yulil cut her off "So how's the defenses that I formed?" Yulil asked gentiane, dsr chuckled and decided to drop the subject, for now... gentiane also giggled before she replied to his question.
"They're solid work, SF tried piercing point charlie when you were asleep, only to get torn apart by machinegun fire, I've gotta thank you for that" she replied with a smile.
"Don't mention it, I guess it was worth not sleeping for a night" "You really like your job don't you commander yulil?" Dsr asked, making yulil shrug before he gave his answer "Well it's a given, I've been in the military since I was 17 if I remember correctly, being a good soldier is all I've got" "Oh don't talk like that, I'm sure you've got a few hidden talents in you" gentiane replied.
Yulil held his chin as he thought about what he's good at "Ah! I'm a pretty good cook" Dsr and gentiane both snorted at his answer and looked away.
"You don't believe me do you?" He asked with half closed eyes, expressing irritation "Next time we meet I'll make something for you two to shut your mouths"
"Oh my~, are you asking me to come over to your place? I wouldn't mind~" DSR said while holding her cheek as she looked at yulil straight in the eyes, yulil sighed before he noticed grizzly's silhouette far away in the hallway.
"Sure sure, I'll be off now take care of yourselves" yulil concluded as he walked passed them, towards grizzly.
"Such a tease~" DSR said while biting her lower lip as she looked at yulil walking away from the duo, Gentiane just chuckled and decided not to voice out her opinion.
"Yo! Grizzly!" Yulil called for her when he was close enough, grizzly turned around before she smiled "Finally our sleeping prince wakes up, you must've enjoyed oversleeping without kalina nagging eh?" She said with a wink.
"Oh you don't even know, it feels like bliss, so how was your first halo jump?" He asked as they walked together throughout the hallway.
"It was scary at first I won't lie, but knowing that we were a vital part in your plans reassured me" she said with a smile.
"Good to know... But damn I'm gonna be honest, didn't expect you girls to eliminate a whole convoy by yourselves" yulil said with a an impressed tone.
"Hehe, we found some abandoned, old, world war two rocket launchers in a house, and well, we used the element of surprise to our advantage, sangvis Ferri were not ready at all to be attacked within their own territory... proud of us commander?" Grizzly asked with a smug face "You're damn right I am, you girls just proved yourselves today to be an elite team"
"Hehe, elite~... the elite wasp team, it has a good ring to it... Heh, and I thought I'd spend the rest of my days doing patrols around motherbase, who would've thought I'd be jumping from military cargo planes and infiltrating enemy lines haha!" grizzly said as she laughed out loud "Just don't get yourself killed alright?" "Hoho~ commander's worried about me" she said with a smug look that made yulil sigh, in a good way.
"Have of our girls fallen back from the frontline?" Yulil asked "More or less yeah"
"Alrighty, we can finally go back home then"
"Heh, you must've missed parabellum huh?"
"You're damn right I did, it feels like a home rather than a base to be honest" yulil said with a warm smile that contaminated grizzly "Hehe, I can wholeheartedly agree on that note"
And so the duo exited the commanding building as they stumble upon the SF trio.
"Yulil! yulil! Have you seen how I fought?!" Architect said as she excitedly stepped in front of yulil.
"Yes. I. did." he angrily pronounced each word before he angrily pinched her cheeks.
"Hey! what did I do?! shtap it pwease~" architect pleaded, after yulil thought was enough he released her cheeks as she caressed them while he gave her a stern look.
"Have you got literally no situational awareness?! You need to work alongside the other tdolls not charge the enemy head-on! Do you have a death wish or something?... And that goes for you two as well!" he said to architect before diverting his lecture towards Gager and intruder, intruder started whistling as she looked away from his gaze.
"I just wanted to make you proud..." Architect said with a depressed tone as she kept caressing her cheeks.
Yulil sighed and thought maybe he was being too hard on them.
"Look" he said as he patted architect's head "I know I'm being hard on you three, but that's just because I'm worried about you, I know very well you three are strong as hell, it's just that I was worried you'd meet the other ringleaders and lose your life against them... I'm sorry okay?" He said with a smile.
"Hehehe, i understand, of course I forgive you!" Architect said before she gave yulil a quick hug.
"I'm glad... But yeah I've seen you fight, and I've gotta say, you really gave hell to the enemy" yulil said with a smirk.
"Yay! Are you proud are you proud?!" Architect quickly said with clenched fists that were on her chest.
"Of course I'm proud, you all did great" he added as he pat her head while she kept giggling.
"Now I just need to beat one last person before I can finally prove myself to you" she said as she looked at yulil with a scary grin "And who is that unlucky person?" "It's...you!" Architect yelled as she pushed yulil to the ground and got on top of him.
"Ouch! Hey! Hey! I call bullshit I wasn't ready!" He said as he kept blocking her light, playful jabs while she laughed.
"I'm glad architect finally found someone that can handle her" intruder said "For how long I wonder" Gager added
*Thud* was the sound architect's body made as it was sweeped from it's feet to the ground.
"Jeez... It's my loss yet again" she said with a smile while breathing heavily.
"Looks... Like it" he replied, also breathing heavily as he gave her a hand, which she gladly accepted.
"Now now, let's stop the shenanigans, come architect let's pack our bags, we've gotta leave soon" intruder said as Gager nodded.
"Okay! I'll win one day yulil, mark my words!" Architect added with a competitive look.
"And I'll be waiting" he said with a smile as they left him with grizzly.
"Hey commander, I forgot to tell you something" grizzly said with an uneasy look.
"Yeah? What is it?" He asked as he was wiping his forehead with the back of his hand.
"It's about M14..."
"I'm listening"
"When we were wrapping up and retreating, she... Became something else, her personality did a literal 180... And soon after that she was back to her normal cheerfulness" grizzly added.
"Did something trigger this?"
"None that I'm aware off..."
"What kind of new personality are we talking about?" Yulil asked with a worried expression.
"She becomes more aggressive, both verbally and physically, her pupils also changes from their usual orange to an abyssal black... I'm sorry for troubling you with this matter but I'd be grateful if you could check up on her" "Gee, what are you talking about, it's no problem at all, and of course, I'll talk to her when I see her" yulil replied with a smile "That's all I could ask for, thank you... Now I'll also go pack our stuff, see ya commander"
"Take care of yourself grizzly" yulil concluded as grizzly walked away while he sat on some sandbags he found before he lit a cigarette.
"I wonder what happened to M14" he muttered while exhaling the smoke After a minute passed somebody sneaked up on yulil, they suddenly wrapped their arms around his chest.
"I was looking for you, co-mman-der~" the sneaky person said with a soft tone "Can you guess who am I?" They added, by looking at their arms, well... Let's just say that yulil knew only one person who wore a ww2 American sailor shirt.
"M14, am I right?"
"Hoho, I'm impressed you remember the punny me" she said as she leaned forward and looked at yulil, her pupils were as black as dark matter, she also had an evil grin on her face as she kept staring at yulil.
"Is there something wrong?" He asked M14 giggled before she slowly walked in front of him with her hands behind her back, he noticed that her thigh highs were only raised at the level of her calves, she also wore a kneepad on her right knee.
She suddenly brought something out of her pocket... It was a phone, she unlocked it and swiped around before she showed the screen to yulil.
"Mind telling me what you were doing?" She said with a wink, the picture was of yulil as he was sniffing the red Griffin overcoat that was covering him when he woke up.
"I wonder what Gentiane would think of you if she saw this" she added as she put her index finger on her mouth.
"You're kidding me?... Wait that's my phone!"
"Hehe, you're correct yet again... But still... What are you going to do now?" She said with a smug look.
"Stealing my phone and then blackmailing me... I wonder what you're after" yulil said with his cigarette between his lips.
"Oh me? I don't want anything from you... Only curious at what you'll do" she said as she locked the phone and smirked.
"Nothing" he said with a shrug "Huh?" Was all she could say as she opened her mouth and raised her eyebrows.
"So... You're going to do...nothing?"
"Right"
"I mean... I'll go and show her the picture I took" she said as she took two steps towards the commanding room.
"Then go" he said as he shoo'd her away with his hands.
The evil M14 just stared at yulil before she made a long exhausted sigh.
"You're so boring commander, not even a bit nervous?" She said as she sit beside him.
"Not at all... I know that deep inside you wouldn't do something that messed up" he said as he gave her a sidelook.
"Heh... Maybe I will...it's not good to put so much trust in me..." She said as she started swaying her feet back and forth, she kept staring at yulil waiting for the slightest flinch of twitch, in vain. She sighed and looked back in front of her before she spoke up "But not today" she added while handing him his phone, he gave her a smile and took it from her hand.
"Welp, I haven't slept all night, I'll be taking a well deserved nap now" she concluded as she fell down and used yulil's lap as a pillow, he wanted to protest, but well, something convinced him not to.
"You're definitely a unique tdoll you know that?" He asked while the only answer was a consecutive series of snorts, he chuckled and thought to just drop the subject, he then proceeded the delete the picture she sneakily took of him
He finished his cigarette after a couple of minutes as he threw it away, he looked down at his lap and noticed the cute sleeping face m14 made, he wondered how such a nice tdoll could act so mischievously today.
"We really know nothing about tdolls do we?" He softly said as he rubbed her head, she slowly formed a smile as he kept rubbing her head.
"Lewd" someone whispered in his ears, he quickly leaned forward and turned around to meet the perpetrator "Of course it's you" "Hehe, was I perhaps interrupting something?" Springfield said with a smug look.
"Nah, I was just waiting for M14 to wake up so I can actually move" yulil said with an annoyed tone.
"I see I see" Springfield replied as she walked around and sat beside him.
"She looks really peaceful doesn't she?" She said before yulil looked at M14, the adorableness of her sleeping face only intensified with her slightly open mouth.
"Heh... Guess you're right... ah! God damn it she's drooling all over me" yulil said before he grabbed a tissue packet from his jeans' pocket and wiped her mouth and his jeans.
"This is so adorable to watch" springfield cheekily said as she held her cheek with one hand.
"Ugh... God damn it, i signed up to make tactics and dispense lead, not babysit" "But isn't it better this way?" Springfield asked with a raised eyebrow.
"How so?" He replied "She wouldn't sleep on your lap if she didn't fully trust you, that just shows how strong your relationship with us is" she confidently said before finishing her speech with a wink.
"Heheh, you really are the female version of Bob Ross" yulil said with a light-hearted laugh "And who might that be?" Springfield curiously asked "He was a man I took as a role model, he always... And I mean ALWAYS... Looked at the bright side of life, he could see the good in every. Single. Situation he was in, he would laugh at every problem he was presented with... truly A gem of a person" "Fufu, i don't know about this Bob Ross person, however... I know one person I took my kindness from" Springfield said as she looked at the sky.
"Oh really? Now I want to meet this person" "Heh if you only knew who he is" she softly said, Springfield then turned to face yulil as she looked him straight in the eyes.
"Do you really not remember me, commander yulil?" She asked with a serious face, yulil slowly cocked his head to the left before raising an eyebrow.
"Have me perhaps met somewhere before all of this?" He asked.
Springfield sighed before she smiled, she then got up as she smacked the dust off her dress.
"I'll let you think about it" she said with a wink before she headed off, leaving yulil with more questions than answers He then heard a soft groan, he looked at M14 as he noticed her stretching her arms, she slowly opened her eyes, her pupils had their original orange colour, she noticed yulil and raised an eyebrow "eh?" was all she could say before she then looked around and slowly realised the position she was in, she immediately snapped up and looked away while yulil laughed.
"Don't wake up so fast M14 hahah" "How did I end up here?" She asked and turned around while he noticed the red on her cheeks.
"You were tired and decided to use my lap as a pillow, don't worry I didn't mind it at all" he said with a warm smile.
"I-i see... Thank you commander, I didn't sleep all of last night so I was probably too tired to think rationally heheh" she said with a heart warming laugh while scarching the back of her head "Like I've said, don't worry... I hope you've packed your bags because we're leaving soon" "Oh! You're right I should do that, thanks again for taking care of me commander!" She said before she headed towards the temporary dorms.
"What a way to start off the day" he said with a chuckle "Well, I should pack my bags too" yulil said to himself as he headed towards the commanding room where he left his kit and backpack.
As he entered the room he found Gentiane talking through her earpiece, she gestured to yulil to wait a second as she continued speaking while yulil searched for his stuff.
"Got it, provide us with any info you catch, keep a minimal profile and alert us of any Incoming attack, Gentiane out" she finished before she turned around to find yulil zipping his backpack closed.
"You're leaving this early?" She asked while leaning against the hologram table.
"Yeah, as you might know, i got my own base to take care of" he said as he picked up the backpack and wore it.
"Aww, and I was just getting used to your help" she said while slightly pouting.
"You'll have to do without me, I'm sure you got this Gentiane, just keep your head cool and rationally weigh your decisions, that's as much advice as I can give since our job isn't really predictable, one day you're chilling in your base, the other you're fighting for your life" he said "Heh, that's the charm of our job yulil" she said with a wink while crossing her arms "You must like living in the edge then eh? Hehe, that makes two of us then, anyway I'll get going now, I'm sure they're all waiting for me" yulil said as he slinged his shotgun.
"Alright, I'll walk you over to the helipad, it's the least I can do" she said with a smile.
"Alrighty, deal"
"Are you really fitted with an electronic warfare module?" M16 asked scar as they were inside of izuna's helicopter, waiting for their commander.
"Correct"
"And what can you do with it?"
"Jeez M16, stop bothering her" ar15 said.
"Hey, I'm just curious okay?"
"I can neutralise enemy radio waves and electromagnetic waves on a close range, it also gives me the ability to hack enemy electronics and use them to my own advantage"
"That's sick" M16 replied.
"You're kidding me right?" They heard yulil say as his voice kept getting closer.
"I swear! I wiped the floor with him! and I'll do the same to you if you keep underestimating my unarmed combat skills"
"Sure sure, I totally believe you" "Am I hallucinating or are you being sarcastic?"
"Oh I don't know my highness, am I?"
"You...little" Gentiane angrily said, before she tried grabbing yulil's collar, he leaned back at the right moment and stepped back as she missed her attempt "Oi, don't even try that"
"Come back here you coward!" She said as she increased her pace while he kept running around the helicopter.
"Hey... Hey... commander!" A tdoll with a deep voice kept saying as yulil and Gentiane kept passing by her and doing circles around the helicopter before the tdoll grabbed Gentiane by her ear and twisted it, making her stop in her tracks.
"Don't you think you're being a little bit too carefree today co-mman-der?" The tdoll angrily said to Gentiane.
"ow! ow! It's not fair! He's the one who's doing the bullying!" Gentiane said with almost watery eyes while yulil sneakily sticked out his tongue, only Gentiane noticed it "You bastard! Owie!" She yelled out as she tried to lunge at him only to step back when she remembered she was being held by her ear.
"Let me punch him mg5 please!"
"I don't think that'd be fitting of a commander, Gentiane, now come with me, I'll be giving you a lesson on how to treat your fellow commanders" mg5 said as she dragged Gentiane by her ear.
"Damn you yulil!" She yelled out while he couldnt even stand from laughing so hard.
"I never thought our commander was this ruthless" izuna said with wide eyes.
"Hey I've got my reasons alright" yulil said as he got inside of the Heli and sat down beside M16 and scar.
"So how was your first battle scar?"
"Results were as expected, I watched the battle footage and gained more knowledge on how to operate alongside a team" scar said.
"I see, that's a good thing since you'll be able to learn much efficiently" Yulil said before the Heli took off, destination, home.
"What did you think of your fellow teammates scar?" Yulil asked.
"I'm still not sure I should be giving my opinions about them with such little knowledge"
"Hm... That's a good point, but still I'm sure you can say something that you liked or disliked about them"
Scar cocked her head, almost like she didn't quite understand the question.
"Are my preferences relevent?"
"Of course they are!" Sop suddenly said.
"Yeah, she's right, your opinion do matter scar, especially to our commander here" ar15 added "See, even they agree" yulil added as he leaned forward and waited for her answer, scar looked at yulil for a bit before she spoke "I like miss Lee enfield" "Oh~ i wonder why" M16 said.
"I find her to be extremely dependable and reliable" scar concluded.
"I see... perhaps anything you disliked?" Ar15 added Scar stared at the ground for a while before she looked at ar15 "I don't have enough knowledge to answer that question, I haven't stumbled upon anything I disliked nor hated" scar answered.
"Alrighty, thanks for answering scar" yulil replied as he put his hands behind his head.
"Oh man, it feels really good to see parabellum again" yulil said after he opened the sliding door and saw the reassuring silhouette of his base in the distance.
"That's... Not that weird actually, it's our home after all" M16 said as she joined yulil by the sliding door of the Heli and put her hand on his shoulder.
"I know right!" Sop added as she joined the duo and put her arms around their shoulders
Yulil descended the Heli followed by the rest of ar team and scar while he stretched his arms.
"Home sweet home" ar15 said with a wholesome smile as she started heading towards the door of the roof.
"Hey wait for me!" Sop said as she increased her pace and caught up with her, followed by M4.
"What would I do without those idiots in my life" M16 softly muttered before she cracked a smile.
"Oh my, what a good big sister you are" yulil said "O-oh, you heard me?!" "My hearing is way better than you think, so be careful next time~" yulil added as he enjoyed seeing the tough M16 being embarrassed.
"Well, how can I not enjoy seeing my sisters happy" M16 replied as she crossed her arms and looked away.
"And that what makes you a good sister" he said as he put a hand in her shoulder before heading towards the exit of the helipad.
"A good sister huh..." M16 softly muttered
"Ah commander, I'm happy to see that you're unscathed" kalina said as she and yulil met in the hallway leading to his office.
"Ah kalina, I hope you took care of the base in my absence" "Of course, like I always do~... What about your assignment how did it go?"
"Smooth as butter, we pushed back sf without sustaining any casualties, I'd say we did a pretty good job" yulil said with a proud tone.
"I'm relieved, I'll get going now, I've got some paperwork to sort out, take care of yourself commander"
"Yeah you too kalina"
Yulil entered his office as he sat on his chair and sighed, he stared at the ceiling for a bit before turning on his computer.
Assignment completed, 100 command points acquired.
"Ah, so that's how I get those stupid command points" yulil said with a sigh of relief.
Total command points: 130
"Alrighty then" yulil said as he powered his computer off.
His phone suddenly vibrated, he grabbed it and unlocked it, it was a message.
"Move alone to these coordinates right now if you value the life of your family"
"The fuck?" Was all what yulil could say as he checked the attached images.
Images of his base, angelica and Laura.
"Don't tell me the FSB caught up to me..." Yulil softly muttered as he started getting slightly nervous, the FSB isn't the type of people that you mess around with "Shit" he added as he picked his pistol and tucked it inside of his waistband, the coordinates were really close to his base, deep enough inside of the woods to not be seen, nor heard, and he didn't have much choices at this point.
Yulil successfully sneaked out of parabellum without attracting too much attention As he entered the woods he quietly moved around with his pistol in hand, looking for the threatener.
He suddenly heard a twig break behind him, but alas, he was too late, as a wet cloth was put on top of his mouth and nose, while his arm that was holding his pistol was grabbed, he tried his best to break free but the ambusher was just inhumanely strong.
"Calm down calm down shhh, let it happen... Yeah, just like that~" a familiar female voice said... A very... Familiar voice.
Sorry for the long wait boys, my university entrance exams are closing in and I've gotta switch to hardcore study mode, I'll spoil you with chapters after the 19th, so just be patient aight?
