Season 1 Episode 21: Power of Dynamaxing
Note: Minor changes on the floors of a dungeon will be bundled together for extra dialogue and every episode will feature an important character. Several music I will mention do not belong to me. (June 8, 2020… as the narrator finally finished the school year in college, I can finally get back to business. Ep. 21 & 22 are done though.)
When we heard that Herdier died, we could not believe that the Tribe's intentions were clear: they wanted to tear apart our relations with one another, as well as our main goal of maintaining peace. With no news of the Tribe's whereabouts, Weavile gave Aegislash and the group his next location during their encounter. Vigoroth informed Alakazam about his plan about Dynamaxing, a phenomenon that enlarges the Pokémon's size and power, inhabiting special moves that enhances their strength. According to Gengar and Machamp, Dynamax is believed to be far much stronger than Mega Evolution or Z-Moves. Knowing that Weavile has more than just a surprise, Vigoroth then informed the Police Department to prepare for an onslaught that may potentially occur outside of the Sacred Circle. Our group consisting of Alakazam, Lucario, a couple of Galarian Pokémon and I, must stop Weavile before his plans succeed. Nevertheless, there is something I fear something more than Weavile's plan; it is my own past self…
At sundown…
Golurk: (Speaks softly) Alakazam said we would meet up right here.
Lucario: Golurk, I just hope things goes well for us.
Golurk: (Sees Alakazam) Alakazam!
Alakazam: Golurk and Lucario, glad to see you both make it here. I would like you both to meet: Orbeetle, Grapploct, Eldegoss, and Centiskorch.
Eldegoss: Hey.
Centiskorch: Salutations.
Grapploct: (Bows downs) Greetings.
Orbeetle: Nice to meet you both.
Lucario: Alakazam, what is the plan here?
Alakazam: This will be an old-fashioned stealth mission. I did a quick analysis of the guards and they are much stronger than we are. However, the guardians of the Sacred Circle were surprisingly taken out by Weavile, so Grapploct and Eldegoss will take out his grunts. Once we get inside, we must prevent ourselves from fighting anyone other than the grunts or else Weavile will be alerted.
Centiskorch: Alakazam, will this plan of yours, be effective?
Alakazam: I may possess high intellect, but there may be a slight possibility my plan will fail.
Lucario: We'll have to stay cautious then.
Alakazam: Grapploct and Eldegoss, you're up.
Eldegoss: I have an idea, Grapploct. Tell everyone to move slowly from behind while I distract them with this basket of sandwiches.
Grapploct: Sandwiches?
Eldegoss: You'll see. (Approaches towards the Donphan Grunts) Excuse me gentlemen, I have noticed you two have been working so hard guarding the Sacred Circle from intruders all day, so I'd thought I'd bring a basket of sandwiches I made for you both to enjoy.
Donphan Grunt: Sorry ma'am, but we are not allowed to take any gifts from anyone. In fact, I don't think I have never seen you here in this village.
Donphan Grunt: Now, now, hold on a minute there, we have been working our asses for some time and we have not eaten anything since this morning. Thank you for your generosity ma'am, both of us appreciate your support for us.
Donphan Grunt: Well, you are right about not eating since this morning.
Donphan Grunt: (Smiles) Well then, let's dig in. (Finishes their sandwiches) *Yawns* Hey, I feel sleepy… zzz.
Donphan Grunt: Hey, get up… zzz.
Grapploct: Did you use Sleep Powder on the Sandwiches?
Eldegoss: Yes, they will be out for a while, now we move.

Toxapex: Liquidation! (Grapploct jumps to avoid)

Eldegoss: Cotton Spore! This should help us.
Orbeetle: I see the light!
Lucario: Hold on, a village? I didn't expect this.
Alakazam: This should be where the gate would be. However, the guards are the only one who can break the seal.
Clefable: You lot, stay away from our home! You have done enough destruction in our home!
Alakazam: Please ma'am, we have no affiliation with these Pokémon you have encountered moments ago.
Aurorus: I don't believe a single word.
Slugma: I'd say we scorch them all.
Eldegoss: Please, hear us out! We are not here to cause harm to your sacred home.
Lucario: They are not listening to us Alakazam. They are not listening to a single word we say, this is going to blow our mission.
?: Enough! Who trespasses in the village of the Sacred Circle?
Alakazam: Mother Salazzle, my name is Alakazam and these are my group of friends. We apologize for entering in your sacred village. You have an unwanted visitor who awaits at the very top of the mountain. We ask for permission to open the gate to—.
Mother Salazzle: Denied.
Alakazam: What?!
Lucario: Mother Salazzle, you must believe us. We are not members of Weavile's clan, we are rescuers.
Mother Salazzle: I will not believe you are heroes, unless one possesses this so-called explorer's badge.
Grapploct: I'm sorry, Mother Salazzle, none of us carry one.
Alakazam: Rather, we have not registered for one.
Mother Salazzle: Then you have no place here. You must leave the premises. (Looks at Golurk as his headaches begin to ache more) I could have sworn that the Spirit Giant shouldn't be suffering this much.
Golurk: (Headaches slowly disappearing) Oh… um, these are just headaches.
Mother Salazzle: I do not think I have ever met a shy Golurk in all my years of existing. Yet, you look pathetic for having these mild migraines. I want you all out before dusk. (Leaves)
Eldegoss: Alakazam, what do we do now? The gatekeepers won't let us proceed and the villagers aren't hesitating to fend off intruders meaning us.
Alakazam: I'm still thinking about what we can do to gain their trust.
Lairon: You lot are still here? Why don't you all make the right choice and get out?! (Blasts coming from the cave entrance) What the?!
Donphan Grunt: Here they are, after them!
Floatzel: You have brought terror upon our homes!
Centiskorch: Well, these villagers are no good. We need to clear them out before they destroy the village!
Everyone: Roger!
Eldegoss: Cotton Spore! (Slows all Donphans)
Lucario: Bone Rush! (Hits a Donphan multiple times)
Donphan Grunt: Counter! (Hits Lucario)
Donphan Grunt: Rollout!
Alakazam: Psychic! (Gets two Donphan and hurls them to a wall)
Golurk: Shadow Punch! (Hits a Donphan)
Donphan Grunt: (Rolls towards Golurk) Stomping Tantrum! (Hits Golurk right in the face and falls) Hahaha! Is that all you have?
Golurk: Heavy Slam! (Hits Donphan and faints)
Ferrothorn: What are they doing?!
Alakazam: (Sees a Donphan) Psychic! (Stops all the Donphan)
Eldegoss: Now what do we do, Alakazam? Mother Salazzle doesn't want us here anymore.
Lucario: I honestly do not know anymore.
Golurk: Hmm. (Suffers from another migraine and everyone looks at him)
Lucario: Golurk, what is wrong with you?
Golurk: I… don't feel so good.
Lucario: Golurk, what's going on with you?
Golurk: Augh! (Collapses)
Alakazam: Golurk!
Golurk: (Golurk's eyes turn to black) Shadow Punch! (Hits Centiskorch)
Centiskorch: What the hell?! Golurk, what is wrong with you?
Golurk: Heavy Slam! (Tries to attack Alakazam)
Alakazam: (Calls out to Golurk) Golurk, calm to your senses! Golurk!
Inside the conscious of Golurk…
Golurk: [What did I do to become this shy and anxious? I have aided with several others for so long and I do not know what to do to gain their trust. Why was I silent? (Feels the pain from his migraines) What is causing these migraines? Argh!]
Flashback of Golurk's past…
(Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky In the Future of Darkness theme plays)
Ms. Leavanny: Class, take the time considering who would you like for the class representative to be.
Golett: Maybe… I can be one.
(Everyone busts into laughter)
Scyther: (Laughs at Golett) You got to be joking! You think others would want your anxiety to lead for us? You can barely right, hell you can't do anything right!
Ms. Leavanny: Scyther, that's enough!
Scyther: It's not my fault that this is true.
(Golett looks down at his desk)
Riolu: (Speaks in his conscious) [I wish I can help Golett.]
Flashback ends. Inside the conscious of Golurk…
Golurk: Where am I? (Looks to see the group being attacked by someone) Hold on, these are my eyelids. Why am I fighting my own friends?

Golurk: What… who is there?
?: …
Golurk: Who are you and what are you doing inside my conscious?
?: Fufufu… I went to play one of your own memories back when you were a small Golett. Though, I can see that you had a rough childhood. Now tell me, why did you do it, Golurk?
Golurk: (Tries to break hold of the shadow shackles that holds his arms) I do not know what you're talking about.
?: Your decision in joining alongside with these fools. Was it for the fame? Money? Or was it to be the center of attention? I must know more about your… origins.
Golurk: This is all a dream; I just know it.
?: Is that so? Well then… have a look at your own future of their dearly beloved friends. (Shows Golurk a distorted future) This is your future, where not one of your friends would care for you and leave you there to rot. As soon as you wake up, the ones you called friends will die! Not one of them will have a chance to say their final words. Can't you see, Golurk? There is nothing you can do to change the future. Someone like you shouldn't be sticking around with rejects of this earth, they deserve to be with others who have a philosophy of making the world a better place. Now then… abandon this morbid life you once had and start a new path where your fears and anxieties can all be wiped away. Plus, your friends are attacking you now because they have found out the truth behind your secrets and refuse to acknowledge them.
Lucario: (Really injured) Golurk, stop. I do not want to hurt you.
(Theme ends and Mother Beast theme plays)
Golurk: (Thinks long and hard) I… I… I refuse! (Breaks from the shadow shackles and uses Shadow Punch on Spiritomb)
Spiritomb: Argh! Damn you! (Voice echoes) Do you realize what you are doing Golurk?! (Gets hit by another Shadow Punch and the nightmare slowly breaks) (Infuriated) How?! I have locked you and your ability to use attacks in this nightmare! There's no way someone like you can break free! Shadow Ball! (Shoots a barrage of Shadow Balls towards Golurk)
Golurk: I don't think you realized what our purpose is.
Spiritomb: Spite followed up with Sucker Punch! (Golurk blocks the attack) You fools never had a purpose! Ominous Wind!
Golurk: (Shields from the attack but Spiritomb's stats rose) I have a dream and that was to make a difference not only for the ones I care, but for the rest of the entire world. You are nothing more than trouble in this world, Spiritomb. Shadow Punch!
Spiritiomb: (Gets hit) Argh! Did you really think you are going to win that easily?! I don't think you realize that I can use a Z-Move. (Powers up a Z-move attack) (Voice echoes) NEVER-ENDING NIGHTMARE! (Attacks Golurk)
Golurk: C'mon, I just need to lure them all! (Lures the shadowy hands to Spiritomb)
Spiritomb: Bwahaha! You imbecile, what makes you sure this attack can be avoidable? (Sees Golurk running towards him) Wait a minute, what are you doing?!
Golurk: Luring them to you. (The shadowy hands contact Spiritomb)
Spiritomb: NOOO! (Gets hit by the attack)
At the top of the Sacred Circle…
Tribe Leader Weavile: (Notices a blast) What the?
Spiritomb: Argh! (Gets hurled to the wall)
Tribe Leader Weavile: What the hell's the matter with you?!
Spiritomb: Golurk knew about the nightmare I placed on him! I've been attacked by my own Z-Move!
Tribe Leader Weavile: (Groans) Yet, you decided to expose yourself so it can find an advantage you idiot! (Looks downhill) Then that means they are at the village. Come, we shall begin preparations for their visit.
Spiritomb: I just cannot believe that out of all the victims I have used Nightmare on, Golurk was the only one to break it.
Tribe Leader Weavile: Some "reputation" you have.
(Theme ends)
Lucario: (Struggles to get up) Golurk… please stop.
Centiskorch: Crunch!
Golurk: (Snaps out of the nightmare and his eyes returned to normal) (Looks at everyone attacking him) Hold on everyone, it's me!
Eldegoss: How do I know it's really you?
Golurk: I found out Spiritomb used Nightmare to infiltrate my mind, but I managed to break hold of his attack.
Alakazam: (Uses Psychic to stop everyone's attacks) Do not attack, Golurk is speaking the truth. Spiritomb, I guess he somehow managed to return to the present.
Golurk: (Looks at everyone hurt) Did I do this? Oh no… this is not how I wanted things to go.
Shuppet: You guys are still here?! (Sees everyone hurt) What happened here?!
Mother Salazzle: What is all this commotion? I thought I said that I wanted you all gone by dusk, but you are still here.
Aurorus: Mother, what is going on? (Looks at the injuries the group had sustained) Oh, it's you lot. I cannot believe that you refuse to listen to us when we said we didn't want to see you all here. Yet, I see that every one of you suffered a beating. (Everyone prepares to attack)
Orbeetle: Reflect and Light Screen!
Alakazam: Mother Salazzle, we are not here to stir up any more trouble here. We must get past the gate or else your lives will all be in danger!
Mother Salazzle: I will not listen to anymore nonsense from you or anyone from your group. (Prepares a Flamethrower) I wouldn't care about what your purpose is, but I will not hesitate to attack you all if it means to protect my village from you ruffians!
Aurorus: I will aid you Mother.
Centiskorch: For a wise chief, you sure are dense.
Mother Salazzle: Now you've pissed off the wrong mother, Flamethrower!
Grapploct: Liquidation! (Hits a Dugtrio)
Hydreigon: Dragon Rush! (Strikes Alakazam)
Alakazam: Signal Beam! (Hits Hydreigon but strikes back with Crunch)
Golurk: I don't want to fight any one of you!
Floatzel: Aqua Tail! (Golurk blocks)
Buizel: Water Pulse! (Hits Golurk from behind)
Golurk: ENOUGH! (He bursts) (Tosses Floatzel to a tree and Shadow Punches Buizel towards the ground everyone flinched and looks at Golurk) I see what Weavile has done to your homes, but we are not one of Weavile's henchmen. We understand what you all are going through and we know how difficult this is for us to prove to you all because we are not official explorers to present our exploration badges to you all, but you have to trust us. We want to do everything we can to protect you all from losing your lives. We believe that there will be two Pokémon that have the power to Dynamax at very top of this mountain and we want to stop the one that will wreak havoc here. I ask you once, will you trust us once by allowing us to pass through so we can stop Weavile and restore peace to you and your families here in the Sacred Circle?

Salazzle: Spirit Giant, we don't permit trespassers here but if what you say about you and your group are willing to protect our land and stop Weavile from darkness to spread among our homes, then your promise will be kept within us all. We agree upon the promise, but we want to make sure they will not reach our homes.
Golurk: Your solemn promise rests in my arms.
Mother Salazzle: (Accepts his words) Continue the path straight ahead until you reach the gates. I will inform the gatekeepers allowing to pass.
Alakazam: (Gets up) Thank you Mother Salazzle.
Lucario: (Spots a couple of Donphan using Rollout) We have a problem, more of Weavile's goons are here!
Aurorus: You guys go! In the meantime, we'll hold them off. Now then, run!
Lucario: Golurk, I didn't expect you were—.
Golurk: (Interrupts Lucario) I just need others to trust me.
Lucario: (Soft smile) Alright then, let's move quickly.
(Everyone continues further)
Mother Salazzle: Spirit Giant, our people will aid you in this fight.
(6F-12F)
Grapploct: The Pokémon here are not attacking us. Golurk, you have done a spectacular job gaining their trust in us.
Golurk: (Smiles from the compliment) I am glad they believe in us.
Passimian Grunt Leader: (Blocks the path) End of the line, heroes!
Eldegoss: A pack of Passimian and Donphan!
Parasect: Solar Beam! (Strikes at the Passimian pack)
Passimian Group Leader: What the hell?!
Parasect: I'm from the village, we'll cover your path. Now, Paras! (Several Paras appear)
Paras: Solar Beam! (All strike at Passimian and everyone else who was blocking the gate) Move, move!
Alakazam: We got company! (Several Donphan appear)
Donphan Grunt: Earthquake! (Strikes everyone)
Grapploct: (Springs himself to towards Donphan) Liquidation! (Attacks Donphan)
Passimian Grunt: I don't think so, Close Combat!
Lucario: Aura Sphere! (Attacks a Donphan; sees a Passimian ready to attack Grapploct from behind) Grapploct, behind you!
Grapploct: Hmm?
Floatzel: (Appears out of nowhere) Aqua Tail! (Deflects a Close Combat attack) Continue straight until you see an open path with two streams. There will be a cave entrance that will take you up.
Ferrothorn: Pin Missile follow up with Power Whip! (Hits a couple of Donphan) Follow Sableye, she placed a trail of gems that will lead you to the path. Also, we are terribly sorry about what we said before about you lot bringing chaos to our land, we will see what we can do to help you out Golurk.
Golurk: Thank you Ferrothorn!
(The groups continue to run forward and notices the trail of gems)
Sableye: Continue the path up there!
Minutes later…
Centiskorch: We are almost there!
Lucario: I can see the moonlight!
At the summit…
Grapploct: (Exhausted) We are here?
Alakazam: Yes, but I don't see anyone.
Eldegoss: (Notices a platform and stage lights in the middle) What is this platform doing here? (Lights turned off)
Tribe Leader Weavile: Alakazam, we've been expecting you. (Appears)
(Diamond/Pearl/Platinum Champion Cynthia Encounter theme plays)
Golurk: What do think you're doing, Weavile?
Weavile: (Mocks Golurk) The Spirit Giant is asking me what I am planning to do, isn't that nice. Onwards to the main presentation, Copperajah, Hatterene, come forth! (Both appear) I'm guessing that one of your detective buddies informed you about the power of Dynamaxing after delivering that deceased pooch of yours. That is why you lot came up here as I expected.
Alakazam: Weavile, whatever you are planning, don't do it.
Weavile: Or what, let you all return home so you can live your lives peacefully? My way of maintaining peace is watching you all die.
Hatterene: (Interrupts Weavile) Weavile, Copperajah and I are ready.
Weavile: Excellent, now the fun begins. (Turns on the machine) You love to play superhero all day, don't you? Well then, here's something that will put an end to your childish games. (Pulls the lever)
Alakazam: Weavile, no! (Uses Psychic but Weavile shields the attack)
Centiskorch: Alakazam (Pulls him back as Alakazam takes a step forward), don't get close!
(Each Pokémon undergoes change changing the appearance of Hatterene and Copperajah to their Gigantamax Forms)
Tribe Leader Weavile: Bwahaha! Can you not see the future, Alakazam? I am restoring what can be the next big step of your ruination!
Copperajah: (Releases a battle cry) I FEEL WONDERFUL!
Hatterene: THIS IS MAGNIFICENT!
Tribe Leader Weavile: Now then, Hatterene you know what to do!
Hatterene: THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN! (Uses Psychic on the group to hurl them to the trees) IF YOU EXCUSE ME, I HAVE A CITY TO DESTROY. HAVE FUN COPPERAJAH! (Blows a kiss to Copperajah and leaves)
Tribe Leader Weavile: Bwahaha! You fools have witnessed the power of Dynamax! And now, I get to see to have a front row seat to watch you all fall. Copperajah, show them your true power! (Several Crobat appear)
(Theme ends)
Copperajah: (Releases a battle cry) (Sword/Shield Macros Cosmos Rose Battle theme plays) TO THIS DAY, I DREAMED OF THIS MOMENT TO HAPPEN! ZEN HEADBUTT! (Charges towards the group)
Alakazam: Everyone split! Teleport! (Teleports around the area)
Copperajah: NOW YOU WILL ALL DIE!
Lucario: I have envisioned something like this was going to happen!
Alakazam: (Uses Psybeam on a couple of Crobat) I have heard tales about this, but never have I witnessed Dynamaxing until now. Orbeetle, is there a way to end the effects?
Orbeetle: Simple, defeat Copperajah until he can no longer fight, and the effect wears off!
Centiskorch: Also, Golurk, your Heavy Slam won't work on Copperajah. You'll have to try something else!
Golurk: I'd figure. We'll just have to beat him with what we got!
Lucario: Aura Sphere! (Copperajah bounces the attack back with its enormous stout to Lucario; Lucario takes damage) (Shocked) What?! My attack didn't leave a scratch on him!
Copperjah: AHAHAHA! DID YOU REALLY THINK YOU CAN ACTUALLY PENETRATE MY DEFENSES THAT EASILY?! YOU GUYS ARE DULL! IRON HEAD (Swings his stout to attack Grapploct, but quickly avoids the attack)
Eldegoss: (Cries) Why must there be Crobat?!
Crobat Grunt: Cross Poison! (Aims at Eldegoss)
Lucario: Dark Pulse! (Stops Crobat's Cross Poison)
Crobat Grunt: Now you've done it, Aerial Ace! (Hits Lucario)
Lucario: Metal Claw! (Slashes Crobat; turns to Eldegoss) This seems like a disadvantage for you.
Eldegoss: You think?! Cotton Spore follow up with Sunny Day! (The sunlight is strong)
Lucario: (A bone appears) Bone Rush! (Hits one of Copperajah's legs consecutively)
Grapploct: Brutal Swing! (Hits several Crobat)
Crobat Grunt: X-Scissor! (Slashes Alakazam, resulting in a critical hit)
Alakazam: Argh! (Falls)
Centiskorch: Alakazam's down! Fire Lash! (Hits Copperajah)
Copperajah: (Barely feels the Fire Lash attack) PATHETIC! HERE'S SOMETHING YOU WILL LIKE! MAX-ROCKFALL! (Giant rock falling towards Centiskorch, Lucario, and Golurk) (A sandstorm brewed)
Centiskorch: Aghh! (Falls on the three and Centiskorch faints)
Lucario: Golurk, throw me a Reviver Seed!
Golurk: (Shadow Punches a Crobat and pulls out a Reviver Seed) Catch! (Throws the Reviver Seed but a Crobat snatches the Reviver Seed and feeds it to an ally Crobat)
Crobat Grunt: That's the wholesome thing I have seen from you. Aerial Ace! (Slashes Lucario)
Story and theme pause…
Narrator: Hey, even a villain can do a wholesome deed every so often. Props to the Crobat. Now then… time to resume.
Story and theme resume…
Grapploct: *Pant pant* I have an idea! Alakazam, I need you to use Psychic on me so I can get on top of him!
Alakazam: (Uses Psychic to get him on top, but several Crobat appears to stop Grapploct) You're going to have to stop them yourself, Grapploct!
Grapploct: Liquidation! (Hits a Crobat)
Crobat Grunt: Aerial Ace! (Hits Grapploct)
Grapploct: Brutal Swing! (Hits any nearby Crobat) There, release me now!
Alakazam: Shadow Ball! (Hits a Crobat)
Grapploct: Just got to latch onto his stout! Gotcha, Octo Lock!
Copperajah: HMM, WHAT'S THIS? (Notices his defenses were dropping) NOT FOR LONG! (Swings his stout to shake off Grapploct)
Grapploct: (Trying to stay onto Copperajah) Just a little bit longer!
Copperajah: WHY WON'T YOU GET OFF?! LET GO YOU STUPID OCTOPUS!
Grapploct: There! This should be good enough to lower his defenses. Lucario and Golurk, aim for the stout!
Lucario: (Jumps to the bottom of his stout and runs upward)
Golurk: (Jets his way upward clearing out any Crobat) Hop in!

Tribe Leader Hydreigon: How will we know which route will lead to these organizations?
Runerigus: I have designed a schematic where I create circular dead ends indicating an organization is right above the surface. As soon as these organizations are cleared out, we seal the dead end. (Begins to praise himself) Memory is the strongest skill many Pokémon wish to acquire; well I was the lucky one to be gifted with such a pleasing ability. Not to mention passing my own skillsets to my valiant warriors. With Hatterene and Copperajah working for Weavile, I think I may have a position for them both.
Tribe Leader Persian: Very well then, we welcome you to take charge of the Irae tribe. (Everyone is surprised by Persian's quick decision) I may have an assignment for you, are you familiar with the Underground Continent?
Tribe Leader Runerigus: I am most grateful for this token of acceptance, and yes, I have heard of this continent. It's located on the other side of the world. The entrance is a tunnel that leads to a mine shaft called the Dusty Mine Town. What's the purpose of going underground?
Tribe Leader Persian: I want you to find a rare crystal that is needed to enhance our plan of Dynamaxing. Weavile has given us a great opportunity to expand our research on this and sent the report of the results with Copperajah and Hatterene. With this crystal, we may be able to extend the duration to a longer period. Not only will this benefit our troops, but us as well.
Corviknight: Runerigus, I can fly us over there; I know the way to get there.
Tribe Leader Runerigus: Excellent Corviknight, now then, I must be going. (Exits Runerigus and Corviknight)
Tribe Leader Persian: Now then, I believe we should change the names of the tribes because they don't have significance and I think they don't think these are actual words. You guys can decide on what to name your tribe.
Tribe Leader Runerigus: Corviknight, Stonejourner, and Cofagrigus, I believe it is time to show the world who we really are and how we plan to manage society.
Corviknight Grunt: I can smell their demise.
