Goh gets to keep the Sobble, really? What a better way to sabotage a character development. At least we all know that Ash's Farfetch'd will evolve into a SirFetch'd. I was really hoping for Ash to get a cool Water Type Pokémon , but the jokes on the writers, coz no Water type can replace Greninja. Am I right? Well, I am rooting for a Grookey!
Anyway, the 41th chapter is here and the character Ash will battle is Katie. She was a Trainer Ash had faced in the Ever Grande Conference, and the battle made me look like she's a formidable trainer who deserves a Chapter. So here I write.
Location: Lilycove City
Ash's Roster: Pikachu, Primeape, Serperior, Kingler, Dragonite and Torterra.
Enjoy!
''Yes Mom, I did what you told me.'' Ash winced into the phone. ''I just came across the perfect site for another branch of Delia's Kitchen. And it's gonna be right here in Lilycove City by the seaside. It's gonna rain customers! We can really run the gamut here.''
''….''
''Sure, sure. Mimey will be there full time, cooking with you. Kinda my Pokémon too, but seems like that ship sailed….''
''….''
''I really don't think Incineroar should wait on somebody, Mom. People will come in to get their tummies filled and crap their intestines out.''
''…''
''Oh, sure I will add a dollar in the swear jar.'' Ash rolled his eyes. ''So, anyway how's Pallet?''
''… … … … …. …. ….''
''No I'm not seeing anybody,'' Ash admitted, followed by a sudden struck. ''Oh No Mom, I am not going to let you set me up for another blind date!''
''….''
''Because the last time I got stood up! And she had come off a really bad breakup. I was so cut up, I must have eaten like a tank of ice cream.''
''…''
''I ain't lying Mom!''
''…''
''No I am not!''
''…''
''Okay I am!''
''…''
''Grandchildren?'' Ash panted. ''Mom, I expect you to remember the procedure to make a baby requires a man and a 'woman'. You can't just download one from the Internet, you know.''
''….''
''Well, I could see if Amazon sells Babies! Oh wait, don't even try Googling that.''
''….''
''Mom, you are 44. Not 40. Age is just a number we agreed to reduce in front of people.''
''…''
''Ok, I'll give this some serious thought. Bye''
''Pika…''
''Oh, Pikachu says Bye too.''
''….''
''Love you too Mom.''
Once Delia's caller pic disappeared in nowhere on Ash's phone, Ash panted. He loved his mother more than anything else in this world, but he was at an age where every word of a Mother could be tiring. It made him feel like running back into the hotel he crashed in and scream on a pillow.
''Do you think it's a good idea to mark her as spam?'' Ash presented a thoughtless, absurd suggestion in front of Pikachu.
''Pika…'' The mouse could only take pity. For all the years, he even saw his trainer getting spanked on…
''You know, I could come at some other time,'' a soft yet decisive feminine voice made the duo known of the presence. ''This one feels awkward already.''
Ash craned his neck to spot a familiar face standing behind him. The same familiar face that had accepted his 'Pokémon World Championship' challenge twenty minutes ago. Katie, the Pride of Lilycove and the strongest Trainer in the City. Alluringly, she would blink her eyes from time to time, allowing her eyelashes to flutter like the wings of a butterfly. My god, her eyes were simply spellbinding. She was tall already, and had forged the perfect shape of a woman's body. A confident, sexy strut that tells the world, "I'm beautiful."
''How long have you been standing there?'' Ash heaved, having caught in an embarrassed position.
''Long enough to hear you being pampered.'' Katie smirked.
''I wasn't being pampered. My mother only wants grandchildren.'' Ash breathed, standing up to his feet to greet the woman. ''Anyways, let's just finish this quickly and be done with it.''
Silent breeze of Lilycove could have smacked Ash in the head for blurting it out like that.
''Uhh…Maybe I should do rest of the talking,'' Katie narrowed her eyes, pretending Ash never said that. ''Hi Ash, I am Katie and I accept your challenge. You ready for this?''
Making this duel official and live across the Internet on his phone, Ash placed the device back in his pocket. ''You sure you're not in over your head, then?''
Mysterious but never investigated in the speed of a Rotom referee who had just appeared in the time when the trainers took a sizeable distance apart, ready to begin their Championship match.
''This is an official World Pokémon Coronation Series Match between Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town and Katie Franklin of LilyCove City. This will be a two on two battle. There is no time limit. Once all three Pokémon of a Player's party are out, the battle shall stop. Begin!''
''Just so you know, I saw your profile,'' Katie merely nodded. ''Most impressive I came across. I didn't know Mama's boy is in Super Class.''
''And just so you know…'' Ash grinned, readying a Pokeball in hand. ''I got shoved by a Motel owner earlier, and plan to channel all that anger on you!''
Quirking a brow, pursing her lips, Katie implored. ''You do know we are 'Live', right?''
Gasping, ''Sorry my bad, I didn't mean that to be a sexual innuendo. I really got shoved by a mean motel owner in the afternoon!'' Ash screamed into the camera Rotom was capturing.
Sweatdropping, Katie tossed her capsule forward. ''Golduck, I choose you!''
The water type's appearance cooled Ash's nerves. He showed a hint of a smirk, adjusting his collar. ''Serperior, let's go!''
The Regal Pokémon appeared opposite Golduck, coiling her body upwards, her head level with Golduck's own, never turning its beady eyes away from the prey it was advancing towards.
''Putting us at a disadvantage already,'' Katie observed aloud. ''Cute.''
''Leaf Storm!'' Ash called.
The serpent queen twirled her tail, and a grassy gust followed.
''Break that with Water Pulse!'' Katie made an early counter.
Clawed hands summoned a blue orb, swirling and bubbling. It was tossed overhead.
A furious storm of leaves collided with a burst of water, capturing the field in a loud, ground-trembling explosion. The orb of water stretching and compressing under its force before erupting in a volatile burst. Leaves were sent soaring, weighed down and washed up by the strong current.
''Slash!''
"Gol… Duck!" Golduck sprinted, sharp glowing claws coming hard for Serperior.
''Coil!'' Ash swiped a hand across the air.
Serperior coiled under the hot sun of Lilycove, but how longer could this statue can become something too fast to dodge. Twisting herself into loops, Serperior evaded each of Golduck's swipes, making it irritable of constant failures.
''Leaf Blade!''
A green extremity smacked Golduck right across the chest, making it fly away to the other side of the field. Shrieking, the Duck toppled over in pain.
''You gonna miss that for a while!'' Katie taunted. "Disable!"
Golduck's eyes shone an eerie blue, and Serperior was enveloped in the bright glow. Trying as hard as she could, she just couldn't recollect how she would sharpen her tail, befuddled.
''Confusion!'' Katie added.
A tell-tale purple of ethereal flames surrounded Golduck, flaring higher as its eyes took those familiar blue shine. Serperior was engulfed in around Serperior as well, prohibiting her of any movement. She was hoisted in the air, panic mounting on her face, disoriented by the merciless show of telekinesis.
With no mercy, Serperior was yanked down hard on the floor, mewling. If Katie thought Golduck was intimidating before, almost no predator on Earth could inspire as much terror as Serperior at the moment. Her in and out tongue was speaking pure violence.
''Wrap!''
What Serperior lacked in venom cold be made up with constriction. The slithering snake worked her way across the tall grass on its slimy, yet smooth, stomach, using its incredibly powerful stomach muscles to propel it along. Serperior battered the water type on the same site of impact she left before with her tail. She lashed her tail with intensity, ready to latch and ensnare Golduck.
Oh! This could be bad! Serperior was a deadly constrictor known, and if binds around the opponent, there is no escape!
Katie combated, ''Grab it!''
"Duck!" The ever-vigilant water type snatched her slender body, suspending Serperior in a tight grip, before she could coil around Golduck.
''Set up for Confusion!''
''Giga Drain!'' Ash exclaimed. It was a last minute ploy. He watched Katie's face fall as her Pokémon was ambushed and entangled with multiple green translucent ray of energy wore Golduck down, sapping away precious energy.
"Duck…!" Golduck groaned, writhing in pain. The vitality was being openly robbed from its body. With some left, the energy was used to raise Serperior in the air and fling her back away, making Golduck hack for all the breath it needed.
After Coil, the Serpent had become too much to handle. Because Confusion wasn't very strong, Serperior harmlessly bounced off against the floor, flicking her tongue.
''Coy with Giga Drain weren't you?'' Katie remarked. ''But sorry to break it to you, I am taking this home! Water Pulse!''
"Duck!" Golduck chucked another sphere at Serperior.
''I'll give you three knockouts to take home!'' Ash barked. ''Leaf Storm!''
Serperior spun about her strong tail, bursting Water Pulse with a fierce whiplash. The liquid splattered, once again making realize Katie she had to catch up quick. She kicked up a small typhoon, enveloping Golduck in the eye of the storm, shrieking as razor-sharp leaves struck and kept him afloat. With each swipe of a leaf, an irritated growl built in Golduck's throat.
''Confusion!''
Anger that was channeled into the jewel, was unleashed, consuming the leaves and the surrounding around him. The foliage that had attacked so viciously was suspended, creating a scene that could only be described as art. Serperior was pushed back, skidding across the sandy floor. While Golduck writhed, squawking at the nagging sensation of fatigue. His posture had begun to falter.
''Disable!'' Katie panicked.
Once again, flashed eyes robbed Serperior of the memory of her strongest move.
Serperior growled in frustration. Just why am I getting this constant Amnesia? First the move where I could green up my tail! What was that move called again? Wait could it start something with Leaf?''
''Hang in there, Golduck!'' Katie grit. Though, her cracking voice was no vote of confidence. ''Slash!''
Golduck on the verge on drowsiness, flipped over for the briefest moment.
''Go..Golduck!'' the duck growled, glaring daggers at the reptile, stomping at Serperior bearig strong, glowing claws.
''Strike back with Leaf Blade!'' Ash grinned, throwing a hand out.
'Leaf Blade!' That 's right!
Seems like she had just learnt the move, as her memory kicked back in. The serpent's mighty jowls curved into a triumphant grin. The strong appendage rising up four feet long glowing in a long sword of verdant energy, that were pulled past her head. With a melodious croon, she bruised the Flesh of Golduck, as it failed to dodge. Although, one sharp swipe did catch a sensitive part of Serperior's body.
''Duck!'' one eye part closed, as the Duck held its contuse, reeling from the pain. One claw was brandished brightly, and the next step ruined everything. Step as in footwork, where robustness and spirit deceived the Duck Pokémon . He shrieked, collapsing onto the floor.
"No, Golduck!'' Katie stuttered.
Rotom rotated forward, perring at the downed Pokémon . ''Golduck is unable to continue. Serperior wins!''
''Awesome job, Serperior!'' Ash praised, pulling out her Pokeball. ''I can't wait to tell the guys back home.''
''Serp…'' she brushed Ash's cheek with an affectionate flick of her tail, satisfied with the warm light of the Pokeball that consumed her.
The trainer turned to his opponent, who had already recalled her own, and staring long at the capsule in her hand.
''Friend-to-friend advice,'' Ash worded. ''You really need some practice.''
The greenette showed a hint of a smile. ''Now when did I say we are friends?''
''I was afraid you would pick up on that,'' Ash simpered, tossing another Pokeball on the field.
The ball jiggled before letting loose the Pokémon Ash would think twice before releasing. ts overall mass came from its body, which was basically round and covered with scruffy white fur with triangular ears on top. Its brown arms and legs each had a pair of metal wristlets and anklets. However, its most notable physical feature was the pulsing vein stress mark on the left temple.
"Pragh… Pragh…!" the Pokémon snorted heavily, blowing visible steam from his nostrils.
''Very Well,'' Katie took a step back, before tossing another Pokeball. ''Scizor, I choose you!''
The spinning pokeball spit out a flash of light, quickly taking the shape of a the red humanoid. Looking poised and collect like his trainer, Scizor sized up the boxing monkey.
Primeape slammed his fists together as he looked at Scizor. "Pri!" He even seemed to be grinning like his trainer was.
''You ready?'' Ash cocked a brow at his confident Pokémon . ''Well, that makes the two of us. Power Up Punch!''
Katie's eyes shot wide open and she hurriedly shouted a command as Primeape closed in with a glowing fist. ''Counter with Metal Claw!''
The two Pokémon's appendages glowed white as their arms collided against each other. Seeing an equality in strength, both Pokémon jumped backwards from their clash and prepared to go at it again.
"You have a good feeling for it, Primeape?" Ash asked as he received a head nod in response. Understanding exactly what Primeape meant, Ash gave the next order. "Alright, get in close with Power Up Punch once more!"
''X Scissor!''
Primeape hopped, stomping before braving forward to smash his fist into Scizor's gut, at a speed neither it or its trainer was expecting. Receiving repeated swift uppercuts and multiple jabs, Scizor doubled over, the energy of the bug type move quelled.
''Quite the fighter, I see'' Katie remarked impassively this time. "Metal Claw once more!''
''Primeape, another Power Up Punch!''
Once more the two Pokémon clashed as they met in the air during Scizor's descent back towards the field. Met in a stalemate, the two Pokémon pushed hard against each other until finally Scizor managed to win out. Managing to get the upper hand thanks to his higher altitude over Primeape, Scizor overpowered the Pig Monkey Pokémon and sent him flying back towards the ground. Sometimes, the ability of flight just helps.
''Wing Attack!''
Wings spanned and straightened, Scizor dove the the P1 Grand Prix Champion.
Primeape stood his ground, eyes aided by premonition trained onto Scizor's every wing flap as it dropped down towards him. His muscles ached from the tension of waiting for Ash to give the other.
''Now, Seismic Toss!'' the man called, fulfilling his Pokémon 's wishes.
"What?!" Katie snapped.
Just as the first wing beats pummeled Primeape, the Fighting type snatched Scizor's hand and began spinning on his heels. Scizor soon was thrown off balance, at Primeape's mercy to be twirled around like a sack of potatoes. Unceremoniously, Primeape let go, sending Scizor sailing.
''That's the spirit!'' Ash whistled.
Both Pokémon were now staring the other down as they moved slowly in a circle. It actually looked a little like a wrestling match by the way they both moved slowly around.
''Let's go for Mega Kick!''
"Iron Defense!" Katie ordered, eyes widening.
It was just in time. A silver gleam overcame Scizor before being met with a brutal kick, successfully deflected Primeape's attack. Bt the force of the power did send Scizor skidding back a few feet.
"Wing Attack!" Katie ordered.
"Primeape! Power-Up Punch!" Ash copied.
The two Pokémon separated. Scizor circled around to gather up speed. Primeape jumped up, reading for impact. The two collided, stalling for a moment before Scizor was flung back down. Power up Punch had gained potency.
Jumping backwards from their confrontation once more, both Pokémon were now breathing heavily from their constant assaults but neither looked ready to give up just yet.
"Quick, Metal!" Katie commanded as Scizor zoomed in front of Primeape before the Fighting Type could even move a step forward. Without any notice, Scizor rammed his claw into Primeape and sent the punching Pokémon flying across the field.
''Okay, I gotta figure that out,'' Ash hummed. There wasn't anything on the field that they could use at the moment so for now they were just going to have to find a way to overcome it.
''Continue!''
Ash looked up to see Scizor moving towards Primeape at an alarming speed while its claws glowed a white.
"Primape! Roll out and use Fire Punch!" Ash shouted loudly, pulling his arm back before punching into the air with remarkable might. So much so, that it might be comparable with the power of his Primape.
The Pokémon 's tiny eyes narrowed as its opponent closed in within an arm's reach, its arms tucking into its body. It rolled to the side at the very last second, leaving Scizor to pass through thin air. The bug frantically checked left and right for its opponent, having no luck. A cry from its trainer caught its attention first.
"Scizor! Look under you!" But it was too late.
The air was pushed from its lungs, a sharp pain striking through its entire body. Primape's fist was buried into the abdomen, the limb dancing with flames. A deadly uppercut had landed, sending the bug humanoid sprawling across the battlefield.
"Scizor!" Katie called out as she watched her Pokémon sustain a painful blow. ''X Scissor!''
The Pincer Pokémon corrected its flight, just as it squirted the ground. A quick turn brought it shooting back at Primeape, emerald light trailing her that gave it the appearance of a comet.
''Seismic Toss!''
The Pokémon 's legendary fiery resolve didn't waver. Before he could be struck, Primeape leaped off the ground, both of its arms were brought over its head, fists linking as its attacker came closer by the second. Scizor crashed into Primeape, slicing still in pursuit. A feral shriek cut through the air, both fists being smashed brutally into Scizor's head. Ready to suplex his opponent, he applied pressure and began spiraling airborne. And finally, he chucked Scizor into the Earth with all his might.
The earth below trembled, and dust boomed across the field, swarming Ash and Katie, alike. The dust clouds scattered.
Primeape stood, fists raised in triumph. Before him Scizor lay on the field, swirls evident in eyes.
Rotom squinted before the final verdict . ''Scizor is unable to battle! This makes Ash's Primeape, the victor, and Ash the winner of this match! The rankings will soon be updated!''
While in Lilycove, Ash had not only acclaimed another ascension in his rankings and one step closer to the Master Class, he had also gained a whooping number of followers on his profile. The battle was trending live all over the World and one particular viewer, too deep in Pokémon Battling, had taken up the curiosity in Ash's recent Battle. While Ash was occupied in his matchup, somewhere in Castelia City, Unova, a Pokémon trainer was galvanized by the channel so much that he couldn't wait skedaddling to the next telephone booth nearby and push up the buttons in the jiffy.
