The monk and the demon slayer watched as Kagome washed the petals with a gentleness and efficiency that only comes with practice.

"I can't help but notice that you do that with ease. How long have you been doing this, Kagome?"

Sango jumped in too. "Actually, you never told us how long this has been going on."

"Almost a full month now," she replied quietly. "The petals are increasing every day."

Miroku nodded. "You said that flowers hold meaning. What does yours mean?"

"Commitment. Blue also means a fresh start." She fell quiet. There was a new color petal in her hand. "Purple…"

Kagome transferred the petals to the open hands of her friends before getting up to get her journal with her notes.
