AN: Hey guys, thanks so much for the support on this story. I didn't expect anything to come out of this, and I'm really happy with the results. Just addressing a few things, I am going to brush over the Sea of Monsters, and this book will just start with the ending. Also, there will be some plot holes, like most stories, and I'm sorry if some things don't make sense, but I'll do my best to explain everything. Lastly, I'm sorry in advance, this chapter probably will suck and is definitely filler, so I'm sorry about that. Anyways, please enjoy!
Recap:
Annabeth smiled. "Of course. Same goes to you if you run into any trouble."
Max chuckled. "I doubt it, trouble usually runs into me."
At the end of the day, Max stood, bags packed at Thalia's tree. Before he could step out, a figure appeared next to him. "Did think you could leave me behind, did you?" Perseus asked teasingly.
Max chuckled. "Maybe."
Perseus smiled. "Come on, brother, let's get you home."
Present:
The upcoming school year was hectic for Maximus. Firstly, he had to deal with Perseus being his teacher for a whole school year to make sure he didn't blow anything up. Unfortunately, he did. On the last day of school, somehow Laistrygonian Giants had been able to infiltrate Merriwether Prep and caused the gym to blow up. Perseus was able to keep everything under wraps by manipulating the mist, and Maximus was able to escape with Tyson, a cyclops, and Annabeth to Camp Half-Blood.
When they got there, they found the camp under attack, and Max found out Tyson was a cyclops, and they realized that Thalia's tree had been poisoned, and Chiron had taken the fall.
When Perseus heard of this, he came straight back to camp and walked up to Tantalus and punched him in the face, which earned him kitchen duty for a month. Perseus contacted Sally, telling her he would protect Max and be with him at all times.
After Max found out Tyson was his brother, Perseus knew Max would be angry, as Tyson was viewed as a monster, and did the best he could to bring the two together. However, Max was also receiving dreams from Grover and found out that he was in the Sea of Monsters, and immediately told Perseus. Perseus knew this was dangerous, and went on his own to find Grover. However, instead of going to find Grover, he actually stayed around and waited for Max and Annabeth to go after their friend.
Max had also ran into Hermes, who gave him some gifts for his journey. Eventually, Tyson and Annabeth joined him on Hippocampi to go on their own quest while Clarisse went on her own quest with a prophecy from the Oracle. Eventually they reached a cruise ship, the Princess Andromeda, which Luke was on and controlling the mortals, and they found out that Luke was trying to reform Kronos.
Eventually, Perseus came aboard and helped them reach a lifeboat, and they sailed away. They reached a demigod hideout that Annabeth had made, and Max started to feel jealous about Annabeth's prior feelings towards Luke. Tyson scouted ahead and found a Monster Donut, and Perseus and Annabeth realized it was a monster nest, and they defeated all of the monsters after being saved by Clarisse and her ship of skeletons. She told them off, especially Max and Perseus, as she hated them.
After a while, they reached the entrance to the Sea of Monsters, and Tyson sacrificed himself to save the crew after they were sucked into Charybdis. They abandoned ship, and Max and Perseus woke up on CC's Spa and Resort, which turned out to be run by Circe. Max was turned into a guinea pig as Perseus waited outside for him. After a while, Perseus found Annabeth and they turned Max back into himself before running and fleeing on the Queen Anne's Revenge.
During their journey, Annabeth told Max about how Thalia was really turned into a tree, and how they ran into Cyclops. When they reached the land of the sirens, Annabeth wanted to hear the song, and Perseus reluctantly agreed after Max told him it would be okay. After a few minutes, Annabeth managed to cut her way out of the ropes and started paddling towards the sirens. Max followed her, but heard the Siren's call, so Perseus used his powers to bring them back to the boat and heal them. After waking up, Annabeth told the two of them about her fatal flaw, hubris, and how every hero had one. Perseus knew Max's was the same has his, loyalty, but he knew Max had to find it out on his own.
Eventually, they reached the lair of the cyclops, and found the Golden Fleece, but found it was guarded by vicious sheep. After a while, they reached the cyclops' lair, and found Grover and Clarisse. Unfortunately, Clarisse had revealed that Grover was not a lady cyclops, and was actually a satyr. However, Polyphemus said he would marry Clarisse instead of Grover, and would eat the satyr instead. After a few tries of getting in the cave, Annabeth decided they would beat the satyr using trickery. They got into the cave by Perseus and Annabeth turning invisible and Max hiding on a sheep, and Annabeth taunted the cyclops with Nobody, who he remembered.
They freed Clarisse and Grover and they went to battle Polyphemus. They had bargained for the Fleece, by the cyclops went back on his word, and Tyson, along with Perseus, saved them. They got the Fleece and went back towards their boat, but Polyphemus found them, and Perseus, Max, and Tyson went to fight him together, the three sons of Poseidon. Working together, the three of them killed the cyclops and went back to their boat, which had been destroyed. Tyson and Max called the hippocampi, and they rode back to land and woke up on the coat of Florida.
When they reached Florida, Clarisse told the group the prophecy, and Max told her to go alone with the Fleece. After Clarisse left, Luke and his cronies found them. Max tricked Luke into revealing that he poisoned Thalia's tree, causing Dionysius to banish Tantalus back to the Underworld. Enraged, Luke called on multiple soldiers, but Perseus was able to keep up with them while Max battled Luke. During the battle, Chiron and the Party Ponies came to their rescue and helped Perseus finish off the rest of the soldiers.
Chiron helped Max, and revealed his parentage as Kronos' son. After returning to camp, the Fleece was put on the tree, helping to start the healing process. Hermes again met with Max, and Max told him about Luke. Hermes also gave him a message from his father, which just said Brace Yourself. Max told Perseus about this, who went off to mull it over with Chiron.
The next day, they had a chariot race, and Tyson made Max a watch shield. Annabeth and Max worked together to win the race, much to Perseus' happiness at how the young duo's relationship was evolving. After they won, Annabeth kissed Max on the cheek, causing the crowd to roar and both demigods to turn bright red. Perseus was laughing about it at the back of the crowd with Chiron.
Later, Chiron told Max that he had made it look like a gas leak at Merriwether, but was still expelled. Max also talked to his mom, and Perseus again swore to protect him, and did his best on his quest. Tyson left for the forges, which made Max sad and jealous, but was still happy for his half-brother.
However, later that night, Annabeth and Grover woke up Max to a nerve-wracking sight. As Max went to the tree, he realized that there was a demigod lying by it. Perseus exchanged a few words with Chiron, who was standing there with wide eyes along with the ancient demigod. Max introduced himself to the demigod, who was revealed to be Thalia, daughter of Zeus.
LINE BREAK: (Sea of Monsters done, on to Titan's Curse)
Six months had flown by. Perseus had been training Max with his water powers and his swordsmanship. He had been training Max' endurance, as he felt that changing the appearance of the water was the easy part, but keeping it was harder. While Max wasn't on his level yet, he was improving, and had become much more powerful. His swordsmanship was also improving, having learned from one of the best swordsman of all time, but still needed improvement.
During the week before winter break, Perseus and Max were taken by Sally to a boarding school, and they picked up Thalia and Annabeth along the way.
Perseus had introduced himself to Thalia a few days after she had woken up from being in the tree, and wasn't the biggest fan of the daughter of Zeus. He felt that she was impulsive and prideful, but was powerful and not someone you wanted as an enemy.
On the other hand, Thalia wasn't sure what to think of the demigod. He was a son of a minor goddess, but was very powerful, especially with water manipulation and with a sword, and felt older than his age of a teenager. She tried to squeeze information out of Annabeth and Max, but they wouldn't budge, as they said it wasn't their story to tell.
During the car ride, Sally told Annabeth and Thalia literally every baby story about Max that even Perseus started to chuckle.
By the end of their eight hour car ride, Thalia, Annabeth and Max were excited to go into Westover Hall, while Perseus shared no emotions.
"Are you sure you don't want me to wait?" Sally asked, causing Annabeth and Thalia to chuckle.
"No, mom, I'll be fine," Max said with annoyance.
"But how will you get back?" Sally asked. "I'm worried."
Perseus looked at Sally. "Don't worry, I'll protect them, Sally. Don't worry," he said reassuringly. "I'll IM you if there are any problems." Sally smiled at Perseus before they all left the car to enter Westover Hall.
Thalia cracked her knuckles. "Oh boy, this will be fun." They entered the school, and were in awe of what they saw. It was a proper military academy, with decorations and all. After they walked in, the doors slammed shut, causing the group to look at each other in alarm. "Oo-kay, I guess we are staying," Thalia said.
The group put their overnight bags into a locker that Perseus had picked before walking down the hall. They hadn't gone far when a man and woman stopped them. "What are you guys doing here?" the woman asked.
"Um..." Max started. He hadn't really made a plan.
"Ha!" the man said, causing Max and Annabeth to jump. "Visitors are not allowed, you will be ejected!" he said with a French accent.
Perseus stepped forward. "We aren't visitors here, ma'am. We are students here, and I am their foster parent. This is Thalia, Annabeth, and Max, and I am their father Perseus."
The male teacher narrowed his eyes, and Perseus knew it was a monster. However, he couldn't kill it now, so he would have to wait. He looked at the woman teacher. "Do you know these students?"
The woman blinked. "Yes sir, I do. What are you guys doing so far from the gymnasium?" the woman asked, frowning.
Before Perseus could respond, Grover came racing down the hall. "Guys! You made it-," he started.
"What do you mean, made it?" the man asked. "These students live here."
"Yes Dr. Thorn, they do, but they didn't want to come to the dance," Grover said.
Dr. Thorn looked at the demigods before the woman spoke again. "Yes, the punch is excellent. Now run along!"
The demigods quickly followed Grover away from them. Max looked at Perseus. "You really gotta teach us that."
Perseus face palmed. "I'm sorry, I'll include that in your training later."
Annabeth looked at Perseus and Max. "You're training him?" she asked. She knew Perseus was ancient and the son of a water deity, but Max was a son of Poseidon.
Perseus shrugged. "I know a thing or two about swords. Now let's go."
They followed Grover into the Gym. "So, what's the emergency?" Max asked.
Grover gulped. "I found two," he said grimly.
"Two?" Thalia said disbelievingly. "Here?" Grover nodded. Finding half-bloods were rare, but two in one location was like the jackpot.
"They are a brother and sister, ten and twelve," Grover said, causing Perseus' blood to run cold. They couldn't be, could they? he thought.
Perseus looked at the group. "Sorry guys, I need to go, give me a moment," he said. The rest of them nodded, while Thalia looked at him curiously, before he dashed off.
Thalia looked at the group. "Do you think he's doing anything suspicious?" she asked. All three of them shook their head.
"Perseus? No chance," Annabeth said. "He's saved all our lives multiple times." Thalia mulled it over before chasing after Perseus.
Perseus tucked inside a classroom before taking out a drachma and creating some mist. "O Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering. Show me Hades, Palace of the Underworld," he said, as the image shifted, causing the Lord of the Dead to appear.
"Perseus," he said. "What can I do for you?"
Perseus looked at him with a serious expression. "Did you take your kids out of the Lotus Hotel and to Westover Hall?" he asked.
Hades immediately became serious. "Yes, why?" he responded.
"Because I am here now," Perseus said seriously.
Hades shot up. "Please protect my children, Perseus, I will owe you," he said seriously.
"Of course, Lord Hades," Perseus said with a bow, clearing the message. On the other side of the door, Thalia could only hear bits and pieces, but found out Perseus knew who the children were, and she would find out.
LINE BREAK
When Perseus returned to the gym, Max and Annabeth were dancing, and so were Grover and Thalia. It seemed like Grover had already pointed Hades' children out to the trio of demigods, but after a second, they were gone. Perseus walked up to Grover and pointed it out.
"Guys, they're gone!" Grover whisper shouted. "So is Dr. Thorn, let's go!" The group ran out the door to find Dr. Thorn, but Maximus was separated from the group, and he decided to go after Dr. Thorn alone. He thought he had enough training, and thought he could do it alone.
Max pulled out Anaklusmos before jogging down the corridor. He opened the door and found himself in the main entry. He walked up and down the hall, and whipped around, hearing a noise. When he did, he found himself face to face with the di Angelos, who were looking at the sword in horror.
"Hey, don't be scared," Max said soothingly. "I'm Max, and I'm going to get you out of here and to somewhere safe."
Bianca's eyes widened, and Max felt a killing pain in his shoulder, causing him to cry out. He was pushed into the wall and pinned there by an invisible hand. He slashed with his sword, but it whooshed through the air, slicing nothing.
A cold laugh echoed through the hall. "Hello, Maximus Jackson," Dr. Thorn said with his French accent. "I know exactly who you are." Max tried to free himself from the wall, but felt a spike in his shoulder which was weakening him.
Realizing he was poisoned, he concentrating on not passing out. Suddenly, a second projectile went through the air, impaling the wall right above Bianca's head. "You three will come with me, now," Dr. Thorn said. "If you guys make any sound, I will kill you."
Thorn shoved the trio forward, and Max realized he could try and contact Grover, so he thought of Grover and projected his situation to his friend as he hobbled forward. Thorn guided the trio towards the woods towards a clearing. Eventually, they reached the clearing, and Max could sense the sea over the edge. "What is that thing?" Bianca asked.
"I'm working on it," Max grunted, the pain getting to him.
"Stop talking, and face me!" Thorn ordered, causing the three demigods to turn as he pulled out a phone. "The package is ready to be delivered."
Max turned around, looking towards the sea, thinking about jumping, causing Dr. Thorn to laugh. "By all means, son of Poseidon, jump! Water will save you, right?" he said mockingly.
Bianca turned to Max. "What did he call you?" she asked, confused.
"It's complicated," Max said.
Before anything else could happen, a figure appeared behind Thorn with a leaf shaped blade. "Hello Thorn, it's been a long time," the figure said, revealing himself to be Perseus.
"You!" Thorn said angrily before charging and throwing a few spikes at Perseus.
Perseus dodged each spike with ease before slicing the last one into two pieces. Thorn continued to throw spikes at Perseus, but the demigod was able to dodge each one easily. Perseus quickly feinted low before striking at Thorn's shoulder, knocking him towards the ground. "Who do you work for, manticore," Perseus hissed.
"You have no idea what is going on," Thorn said. "The General will snap you like a twig." Perseus' face paled.
"Who's the General?" Max asked.
Thorn laughed. "I guess you'll never find out," he said evilly. "The Great Stirring is occurring, and I will take you guys to the General for my master!" he said as a fulled armed helicopter arrived just as Thalia, Annabeth and Grover came. Thorn took the opportunity to regain his bearings and the helicopter fired on the group. Perseus was able to make a water shield around the group, but it disintegrated after the first volley. They were surrounded.
However, a silver arrow came from the forest, causing Perseus' eyes to widen, and Thalia to groan. "Curse you!" Thorn said, shooting a dozen spikes at the location of where the arrow was fired. Suddenly, a volley of silver arrows came from the forest, and a group of girls wearing silver parkas came out of the forest.
"The Hunters!" Annabeth said gleefully.
"Wonderful," Thalia grumbled.
One Hunter with a silver circlet drew her bow. "Permission to kill, milady?" she asked, he face obstructed by the shadows.
"Not fair! This is against the ancient laws!" Thorn complained.
"Not at all," the auburn haired girl said. "Hunting of wild beasts are under my sphere, and you, foul creature, are a wild beast. Permission granted, my lieutenant."
The manticore growled. "If I die, I'll take them with me!" he lunged at Thalia, and was intercepted by Annabeth, who jumped onto the manticore's back.
"Fire!" The lieutenant shouted, as Max shouted in protest. The Hunters fired, catching Thorn in the neck and the chest.
"This is not the end, Hunters!" Thorn swore, before jumping off the cliff with Annabeth on his back.
"NO!" Max shouted. Perseus quickly lept into action, jumping off the cliff to try and save Annabeth. However, once he was about to reach them, the manticore and Annabeth disappeared in a shimmering light, causing Perseus to plummet into the sea. He quickly regained his bearings and mist travelled back up to the cliff.
He went over to Maximus and gave his brother a hug. "I'm sorry Max, I couldn't save her," he said. "Chin up, she is not dead. I'm sure of it. She is much too valuable to just be killed. We'll get her back," he said reassuringly. Max gave Perseus a weak smile.
The Hunters advanced on the group of demigods, and Perseus' blood ran cold. The Huntress with the circlet walked up to them, scowling at Thalia.
"Zoë?" he asked.
The Huntress with the circlet looked at Perseus in shock. "Perseus?"
AN: Hey guys, I know this chapter kinda sucks, but Perseus and Zoë meet, yay! Sorry it's a bit crap and rushed, but I needed them to meet sooner rather than later. Also, check out my PJ/Arrow crossover, if you're interested in that sort of stuff, and I hope you guys enjoyed, please let me know what you think, and please review!
